On Saturday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale your MIami Hurricanes will conclude their Spring practice period with the annual Spring Game.
The game is schedule for noon with a player autograph session from 10 to 11:30 AM. Parking lot gates open at 8:30 AM for you hard core "kegs and eggs" tailgaters out there.
The constantly changing depth chart will likely be turned upside down once again as a result of players' performances during the mock, game-like conditions at Lockhart.
New "Kings of Spring" are likely to be anointed by new head coach Al Golden and Hurricane fans rabid for new heroes and regular and post-season wins that actually mean something in 2011.
According to the UM web site at www.hurricanes.com Thursday's practice was quite different heading into this weekend's scrimmage:
Towards the end of the practice, players split up into their Orange and Green squads and ran several different situational drills in anticipation of Saturday. The players were certainly embracing their new teams as there was constant cheering, friendly jarring and exaggerated celebrations after every big play.
Earlier in practice, the offense seemed to dominate the defense by getting big plays out of guys like T-Ben, Smiley and J12 who also turned in a great session in the accuracy department. J12 repeatedly hit his receivers in full stride throughout the afternoon.
NOTABLE: Three of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play at Miami were in attendance at Thursday's practice. Gino Torretta, Bernie Kosar and Ken Dorsey were all on hand to watch UM's last practice of the spring.
In their collegiate playing days, the three combined for 23,226 passing yards and 173 touchdowns. Dorsey and Torretta rank 1-and-2 in most career passing categories at UM, while Kosar holds the single season record for passing yards having thrown for 3,642 yards in 1984.

Morning Canespacers, Seems that the Local printed media have changed their reporting style. They are posting their storys typically between mid to late afternoon instead of midnight to early morning which makes their storys timely but doesnt give much material for a 5:00 A.M. guy like me, Sorry, but the news is arriving faster which is good!

Free Admission to National Parks this Week
Beginning April 16th, America's national parks are free. Saturday marks the beginning of National Parks Week, a week-long (April 16-24) celebration of America's 394 national parks, according to the National Park Service. This year's focus is "Healthy Parks, Healthy People" and the role national parks play in the vital connection between human and environmental health.
Running congruent with the 2011 National Parks Week is the National Parks Project, a partnership between Nature Valley and celebrity Josh Holloway ("James Sawyer" on Lost) that aims to raise up to $500,000 to help preserve some the 84.4 million acres of park which are visited by 300 million people annually.
“At Nature Valley, we believe that our national parks help unite Americans with their love for nature and the outdoors – and we often need to be reminded to slow down and take it all in,” said Scott Baldwin, marketing manager for Nature Valley. “With the support of Josh Holloway, consumers and the NPCA, the National Parks Project will help ensure our national parks can be enjoyed for years to come.”
The 2011 project will focus preservation efforts on Joshua Tree National Park, Acadia National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park, among others.
National park conservancy began in earnest in 1916, when the National Park Service Organic Act passed. It granted the government power to preserve land for the express purpose of conserving scenery, natural and historic objects, and wildlife for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Legislation would eventually give the president executive power to protect national land, unchallenged. Today, the parks protect everything from Lincoln's childhood home, remnants of ancient civilizations, countless battlefields, and some of the most rugged and beautiful terrain in the country.
Highlights of this year's National Park Week celebrations include volunteer day on April 16th, National Junior Ranger Day at Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, a quiet walk through Muir Woods to celebrate John Muir's birthday, and many more.

No, and I'm taking a break from "serious" blogging till summer. As much as I support the basketball and baseball teams I just don't have any serious interest by this time of year.
My personal priority list:
1. UM Football
2. UM Recruiting
3. Fishing
4. Miami Dolphin's
5. Family (They understand! Without the other "priorities", the family unit would crumble!)
The Miami Dolphin selection could move up, but UM Football can never move down! That's a 'canes thang...!!

Sarasota...this if for U:
The University of Miami volleyball team will wrap up its 2011 spring season on Saturday, April 16, competing in the annual Fiesta on Siesta Key Beach Volleyball Tournament in Siesta Key, Fla. The event begins in the morning and runs through the late stages of the afternoon/evening.
Under the direction of head coach Nicole Lantagne Welch, this will mark UM's third year at the event as the Hurricanes have produced positive results each of the last two years there.
"The Fiesta on Siesta Key is a great tournament and experience for our team," said Lantagne Welch. "Playing sand volleyball enhances ball-control and provides experience you can bring to your game. I'm excited to get outside and see what they can do in the sand."
Beach volleyball is vastly becoming a widely-revered sport around the country. A lot of collegiate teams are beginning to participate in beach-sanctioned events throughout the spring practice/schedule period, especially teams in Florida.
"With sand volleyball being named to the list of Emerging Sports for Women by the NCAA, we expect the demand for entry into our event to be off the chart," said Fiesta co-director David Carstenson.
The Hurricanes will field five doubles teams in this year's tournament, including last year's bronze medal winning duo of Katie Gallagher and Ali Becker. The other teams for the Canes will be Lane Carico and Ryan Shaffer; Taylor Hollins, Lizzie Hale and Christine Williamson; Nrithya Sundararaman and Alexandria Johnson; Julia Giampaolo, Emani Sims and Mariel Schofield.

UF announces receiver transfers...
By Jeff Barlis
Staff writer
Published: Friday, April 15, 2011 at 3:53 p.m.
Florida coach Will Muschamp announced Friday wide receivers Chris Dunkley and Javares McRoy will transfer.
"It's been a great learning experience being here at the University of Florida, but I feel like it's in my best interest to get a fresh start somewhere else," Dunkley said.
Dunkley, a 6-foot-2, 172-pounder from Pahokee High School, did not see any game action last year as a true freshman.
McRoy, a 5-9, 159-pounder from Lakeland High School, enrolled at Florida in January. McRoy was granted a release so he can go to Texas Tech and play with his brother.
"I enjoyed my time at Florida, but I really want the chance to play with my brother Ben," McRoy said. "Florida has been very understanding and is giving me that opportunity."
McRoy participated in spring practice and missed more than a week of practice, including last Saturday's Orange and Blue game, due to a minor medical procedure on his lung, according to Muschamp.
McRoy's older brother is a rising sophomore for the Red Raiders who played in 12 games as a running back, receiver and kick returner in 2010.
"We wish both of these guys the best of luck in their future endeavors, both on and off the field," Muschamp said.

Miami Hurricanes contact Wisconsin-Milwaukee basketball coach
.BY MICHELLE KAUFMAN
mkaufman@MiamiHerald.com
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee coach Rob Jeter was contacted by the University of Miami on Friday about the vacant men's basketball coaching job.
According to two sources close to the search, Jeter was called by newly-hired athletic director Shawn Eichorst -- a former Wisconsin associate AD -- for exploratory talks.
Jeter, 41, has been at Wisconsin-Milwaukee for five years and has a 101-89 record. His team went 19-14 this season and won the Horizon League regular season title.
Jeter spent 10 years as an assistant to Bo Ryan, at Wisconsin from 2001-05, and previously at Wisconsin-Platteville, where Jeter also played for Ryan. Jeter played professionally in Portugal before turning to coaching.
His father, Bob, is in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, and his uncle Tony played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Other names mentioned as potential candidates are Mike Davis (UAB), Mike Jarvis (FAU), Frank Martin (Kansas State), Billy Kennedy (Murray State), Gary Waters (Cleveland State), and Donnie Jones (UCF) but none of them has been contacted by UM as of Friday. Some trustees have lobbied for Virginia Tech's Seth Greenberg, but they have not had any formal talks.

Taunt now and the points come off the board
NCAA approves series of football rules changes
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — College football could have a very different look next fall.
Teams will have the option of shaving 10 seconds off the clock for penalties called in the final minute of each half. They will contend with a more liberal definition of intentional grounding, and they could see points taken off the scoreboard for taunting penalties.
The most sweeping change approved by the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel on Thursday is the 10-second runoff, something the NFL has used for years. College teams will now have the option of taking the yardage and the time, the yardage only or declining the penalty.
The committee also approved a change in how intentional grounding will be called. Previously, the penalty was called if the intended receiver did not have a "reasonable opportunity" to catch the pass. Starting this fall, the penalty will be called only if a receiver is not in the area of the pass — a modification that more closely resembles the NFL rule.
And the panel adopted a rule allowing video monitors in the coaches' booths. The televisions will have access only to any live broadcast of the game — no video recorders — to help coaches decide if they should challenge a call. If the monitors are available to the home team, they must also be available to the visitor.
Those changes coincide with perhaps the biggest change of the season — implementation of the new taunting rule.
Last April, the playing rules panel approved a decision to nullify touchdowns if a player is called for taunting before he crosses the goal line. Examples include players finishing touchdown runs by high-stepping into the end zone or pointing the ball toward an opponent.
The panel decided then to wait one year before making the change.
Previously, the 15-yard penalty was assessed on the extra point attempt, 2-point conversion attempt or the ensuing kickoff. Penalties called after the player crosses the goal line still will be assessed on those plays, but live-ball fouls will be assessed at the spot of the foul and eliminate the score.
In addition, the playing rules panel wants to make the game safer.
Players lined up within seven yards of the center on scrimmage plays will still be permitted to block below the waist anywhere on the field.
But receivers or running backs lined up outside the tackle box will only be allowed to block below the waist if they are blocking straight ahead or toward the nearest sideline. If they go inside and block toward the play, it would be a penalty.
The defensive team also will be assessed a 5-yard penalty if three or more players try to overpower one offensive lineman on place kicks.

A comment from the Herald following tonight's article by Michelle Kaufman...
So Eichorst is already blowing smoke at Canes Fan's?
This guy said everyone who was interested would get consideration yet right off the bat he calls Some loser named Jeter who's win loss record is no better than Haith's. To top it all off the guy's been coaching in the Pop Warner leagues. Who cares that he spent 10 years as Bo Ryan's assistant? This is south beach, not cheese country. Please don't come here and start this nepotistic nonsense!
Do what's right for the Trustees, Institution, Alumni, and fans---not yourself. Jeter as a first call is absolutely ridiculous. Many fans will consider it a slap in the face.

I think he just forgot the winningest coach in UM history Jim Morris. This is quite a misstep.

Media accuses UNC of stifling public records requests
Attorneys for ABC11 and eight other media organizations argued in court Friday that UNC is illegally stifling public records requests stemming from the football investigation. Among the records the media is fighting for are unredacted phone records, player parking tickets and a full list of tutors including salaries. The parking tickets would reveal the kinds of cars the players drive and if they received preferential treatment.

I still have hope to see Frank Martin becoming the Canes new Basketball coach.
Just remember UM was very hesitant to rehire Art Kehoe... It took some outside pressure...And finally the U administration made the right choice.
Most of the great coaches are not angels. If Martin comes to the U it will be a very good hire. Eichorst will live or die with his first big decision.

No. 19 Miami Baseball Takes First Game of Series from Terps
Canes use double-digit hits and solid pitching to defeat Maryland.
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The 19th-ranked University of Miami baseball team used a combined six hits and four RBI from Rony Rodriguez and Nathan Melendres to run away from host University of Maryland, 10-4, Friday night in Atlantic Coast Conference baseball action inside Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium. Miami leads the best-of-three series.
Miami (23-11, 12-3 ACC) led 8-4 heading into the top of the 9th inning and plated two insurance runs from Melendres’ third hit of the night with a two-run scoring, one-out double to left center to bring in Chantz Mack and Zeke DeVoss on the play. That led to the final margin, 10-4.
Relief pitcher freshman Javi Salas worked the ninth inning on the mound for the Canes, allowing just a single hit, walking one and striking out one to close the contest.
Maryland (16-19, 3-13 ACC) starting pitcher David Carroll was finally chased in the top-half of the sixth inning when UMiami junior Rony Rodriguez picked up his third hit of the night courtesy a RBI double down the left field line that plated Melendres for the 6-3 Hurricanes lead.
The Canes offense did not stop there when Maryland reliever Michael Boyden toed the rubber, using a Harold Martinez single shot back up the middle to score Rodriguez. That run extended the UMiami lead at 7-2.
The Terps plated their final run of the game in the home-half of the seventh after Miami starting pitcher Bryan Radziewski loaded the bases for relief pitcher Travis Miller who took over with two outs. A walk to Michael Montville brought in a run (7-4) before Miller got the next batter out on a breaking ball that painted the black.
The lead would swell to 8-4 in favor of Miami in the eighth when Dale Carey’s dribbler to third allowed Melendres to scamper in from third as the bases were juiced with two outs. The third baseman for the Terps had no play as the turf infield put a high hop on the ball, allowing all runners to advance safely for the Hurricanes.
UMiami plated three runs off Maryland’s Carroll in the third inning, with the big blow being a two-out, two-run scoring single by David Villasuso – advancing to second on the play courtesy an error by the center fielder.
That put the Canes up, 4-1.
The first run of the inning was issued by Carroll on a bases-loaded walk to Dale Carey, bringing in the runner – Rodriguez – from third.
Miami pulled ahead, 5-2, in the fourth inning on the end of a Rodriguez single to left center, bringing in Melendres from second for one of his game-high three runs scored after doubling a batter earlier.
The Terps cut into the lead in the bottom of the fifth, 5-3, courtesy a RBI single from Ryan Holland, crossing Alfredo Rodriguez on the play.
Miami got on the board in the top of the first inning, as Nathan Melendres stole second base, but the throw from Maryland catcher Aaron Etchison bounced off the turf just in front of the bag – allowing Zeke DeVoss to trot in from third.
Maryland quickly tied it up in the bottom of the first inning after the Terps put two men on, then using a dribbler to short by Austin Kilbourne – but the throw was into the turf by Stephen Perez, allowing second baseman Ryan Holland to score from second.
Maryland was led offensively on the night by Alfredo Rodriguez with three hits and a run scored, followed by Holland’s 2-for-3 showing and a RBI.
The loss went to starter Carroll, falling to 5-3 on the campaign, tossing 5 1/3 innings – allowing six earned runs on eight Hurricanes hits and walking eight batters without collecting a strikeout.
On the other end, the win went to Radziewski who hurled 6 2/3 frames with four runs (two earned) on eight hits scattered, and collecting six strikeouts and walking two.
Relievers Travis Miller and Javi Salas finished the game with a combined four strikeouts (three from Miller) and a hit allowed.
Offensively, it was Rodriguez and Melendres leading the way for the Hurricanes with three hits apiece. Following them was shortstop Stephen Perez with two hits in his first start since March 23, sitting out since then due to injury.
Miami will look to take the series victory tomorrow at 3 p.m., trotting out sophomore right-hander Eric Whaley to the mound for the start. Maryland has yet to name a starter for tomorrow’s contest.
The weather could play a factor in tomorrow’s game, however, as rain and severe storms are expected tomorrow morning and running deep into the night. The game could be moved to Saturday at 7 p.m., but might be rescheduled for a Sunday doubleheader altogether.

TV broadcast keeps play calling very vanilla at spring game
Miami Hurricanes to play spring game in Fort Lauderdale
.BY SUSAN MILLER DEGNAN
sdegnan@MiamiHerald.com
University of Miami football fans can catch their last glimpse of the Hurricanes before the 2011 season begins, at noon today in the annual spring game at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
The teams were drafted earlier in the week by two UM alums who won an online auction through the university. Each alum conferred with one of the coordinators in choosing the green or orange team.
The most thrilling part of the afternoon for fans might be the expected presence of 300 former football players lining the sidelines. Those players include the 2001 national championship Hurricanes, who will be honored during festivities.
“I’m really looking forward to it,’’ said former UM receiver Andre Johnson, who attended practice this week. “I’m going to check all these players out.’’
The players themselves can’t wait.
“I’m very excited,’’ said guard Brandon Washington, whose Team Green is led by quarterback Stephen Morris. “I wanna take somebody’s head off. I’m jacked up. I want to play with the passion [coach] Al Golden is looking for. I want to put on a show for everybody.’’
Don’t expect any intricate plays, as coaches said they will keep the finale basic because it is being televised by CSS at 5 p.m. Sunday.
“We have scaled down game plans on both sides,’’ Golden said. “But we’re looking to execute and play fast and hopefully play with a lot of energy.’’
Defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio said the scrimmage “will be very controlled as far as what we call. There will be minimal defenses. I’m looking for us to play really hard and sound fundamentally – tackle well and not give up big plays.’’
Lockhart Stadium is at 5201 NW 12th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale – just west of I-95 off the Commercial Boulevard exit.
Parking opens at 8:30 a.m. on the south side and is free, as is the game. Tailgating is allowed. Gates A & B will open at 9:30 a.m.
The game will be broadcast by 560 WQAM radio.

Massive Alumni turnout boosts anticipation for Al Goldens first Miami spring game
Three hundred.
That's the working number.
In bowling, that represents perfection.
In Hollywood, that was the title of a pretty popular film of historical fantasy a few years back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In spring football terms, that number is flat-out ridiculous.
Talking here about the 300 former Hurricanes that will be back on the sideline Saturday at Lockhart Stadium for Al Golden's first spring game as the University of Miami coach.
"It was pretty cool when I got the list," Golden told reporters this week. "I've got to be honest with you."
Golden has spent time at Penn State, Boston College and Virginia as he worked his way up the coaching ladder. He has dozens, if not hundreds, of friends around the game.
And even he has to shake his head in humble amazement at Saturday's expected turnout for the official start of The Golden Years.
"I've never seen that," Golden said. "I've been in college football for 21 years as a player and a coach. I've never seen 300 football alumni that would come back. I've never heard that for a spring game."
Even at UM, 50 former players might be a good turnout in a typical year.
But this year is clearly different, for a number of reasons.
It helps that the program is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 2001 national championship, but think back through the other four title teams over the past three decades -- and so many others that came close – and the sidelines will be crawling with living legends.
All-Americans and Heisman Trophy winners.
Big East standouts and All-ACC selections.
Distant recruits and local heroes.
NFL All-Pros and Super Bowl winners and those whose pro careers never quite matched up to what they did at "The U."
To start rattling off the names is to risk offending an entire era of greatness.
Better just to say it's going to be an awesome afternoon for anyone that cares about Hurricanes football.
"It's clearly a who's who," Golden said.
What an adjustment for the new coach, huh?
Golden spent the past five springs at Temple, where he might run into Bill Cosby on the sideline at his spring game, but the player honor roll was fairly modest.
"Hey, look, there's Joe Klecko! … Wait, that looks like Randy Grossman! … Paul Palmer, is that really you?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Text alerts: Get Miami Hurricanes news on your phone
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, it's going to be a little different for Golden today, starting at 9:30 a.m., when the all-time greats begin to roll off the buses and threaten to overwhelm the current roster with their charisma and credentials.
How are the kids that got Randy Shannon fired supposed to react?
Won't they (and everyone else) feel the pressure to perform in this highly scripted showdown between Orange and Green?
"Pressure?" Golden said. "I hope our guys are excited about that and they don't feel pressure, but [are] grateful to be a part of that lineage."
The larger question is why now? Why are so many ex-'Canes coming home to stand on that Miami sideline again and make the "U" sign with their thumbs and forefingers?
The easy answer is Golden himself. Unlike Shannon, he has made it a priority to reach back into the program's glorious past for support and reference points.
He's the one that read to his slack-jawed team from the list of 300 legends in recent days.
He's the one that brought Art Kehoe back into the fold.
He's the one always reminding his players to "Uphold the Legacy," something they have failed to do since the program turned south near the end of Larry Coker's run.
Golden brushes aside such talk.
"That is not a reflection on me at all," he said of the massive alumni turnout. "That is a reflection of the bond that those guys created and the family that is University of Miami football."

NBC political reporter Chuck Todd suggests UM try a "grassroots" fundraising approach
Newly hired athletic director Shawn Eichorst didn’t ask for any help, but if he’d like to brainstorm ideas for University of Miami fundraising, Chuck Todd is available.
NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent and lifelong Hurricanes fan had some interesting thoughts on money and marketing in this Bruce Feldman article on ESPN.com.
“Miami has a big alumni base in New York City and certain spots in Atlanta, but they don’t try to cultivate small donors at all,” Todd said. “One thing we’ve learned from political campaigns is that you can go a long way with small donors. I have not seen one university try this because the big ones don’t need it. They’re built in with longtime, traditional ways of funding their programs. There is always some guy. … There isn’t that person at Miami.”
Todd, whose family has held UM football season tickets since 1958, also sounds as though he supports Al Golden’s open-door policy toward the program’s great teams and players from the past. Even the ones that showed a little too much attitude for some current UM movers and shakers.
“All of these NFL players love to talk about ‘The U’ and this and that,” Todd told ESPN, “but the school has never taken it and figured out really how to market that brand and raise money off that brand.”
More than 300 former UM football players are expected to attend Saturday’s spring game at Lockhart Stadium. That’s an amazing number, and another indication Golden may be onto something his new AD may want to build upon.
What do you think of Todd’s ideas?

Golden Has Canes working harder
Al Golden promised change on the day he became the University of Miami's football coach in December. Judging by spring practice, which ends Saturday with the spring game at Fort Lauderdale's Lockhart Stadium, change is what the Hurricanes have gotten.
For instance:
* While former coach Randy Shannon rarely practiced longer than two hours, workouts this spring have become a series of three-hour marathons.
* Mistakes bring consequences. In Shannon's last season, the Hurricanes ranked 119th nationally in turnovers and 117th in penalties out of 120 FBS schools. Golden has made clear his lack of tolerance for "m.e.'s", or mental errors. Jumping offside in practice can send you on what Golden calls "an adventure" of torturous drills. "You don't want to go there," offensive tackle Malcolm Bunche said.
* Under Golden, there are no sacred cows. A senior is judged just like a freshman. That's why center Shane McDermott, a redshirt freshman from Palm Beach Central who didn't play in 2010, is listed on the latest depth chart as co-No. 1 with fifth-year senior Tyler Horn, a 13-game starter last season who played every important snap. Or why freshman cornerback Thomas Finnie, who had enrolled at UM in January and has yet to attend his high school prom, began spring practice as a starter based on his work during the team's off-season conditioning program.
But the new sheriff in town hasn't scared anyone off. While coaching changes usually are followed by a mass migration of players, not a single Hurricane player has transferred since Golden was hired.
"He's gained everyone's trust," All-ACC guard Brandon Washington said.
"It didn't take long."
The Hurricanes haven't won 10 games since 2003 and after last season's 7-6 finish - which ended with an embarrassing showing in a Sun Bowl loss to Notre Dame - a different approach was needed.
"A lot of those guys came here to be champions," Golden said before the start of spring practice. "For many of them, they realize this is their last shot and they knew something had to change."
That change has evolved this spring, sometimes slower than Golden would like.
Golden has harped on his team's need for better conditioning since his introductory press conference. A brutal off-season program was deemed a success, but Golden was less than happy about the team's fitness level after its first spring scrimmage April 2 at Spanish River High, saying that some players were in "survival mode."
UM scrimmaged again last week at Miami's Traz Powell Stadium with on-field temperatures reaching three digits during the late-morning practice. Golden was only slightly more impressed with the team's conditioning.
"Better," he said.
One key area where improvement is obviously needed is turnovers, particularly interceptions. UM quarterbacks have combined to throw 86 passes in the two scrimmages with only two interceptions. Last season, when the Hurricanes led the nation with 27 interceptions, UM was picked off once every 16 pass attempts.
The reduction in interceptions this spring has, in part, been a result of a more conservative passing game. The majority of passes thrown have been within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.
Now Golden wants quarterbacks Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris, who enter Saturday's game battling for the starting job, to combine that accuracy with longer throws down field.
"I've told those guys, 'We want to have some explosive plays,'" Golden said. "We want to have a decision-maker back there that doesn't feel they're being held back. I don't want to manage the game. I want them to conduct the game."
Despite all the hard work, spring practice hasn't been all business and no play. Which brings us to another change in UM's program.
While Shannon rarely engaged fans, Golden has gone out of his way to do so. He agreed this week to allow two fans - who earned the right through an auction - to pick the teams for Saturday's game. Harris, the senior quarterback, was the first selection.
"Why wouldn't we do it?" Golden said. "Let's have fun with it."

Funny solar I am just numb to these college corruption stories seems like every school cheats, these kids cheat, we accept and make excuses for it. I kinda give up and just focus more energy and time to college kids who deseve it like Loco and Nicole and lots of her fellow students and Nick and his buddies. Those are the kids who do things the right way, work hard and appreciate all the gifts bestowed on them and take full advantage of these gifts. These are the kids I will scream and hoot and holler for!

canechic,
You reap what you sow is a very truthful biblical phrase.
It seems since maybe the end of the 50's and going into the 60's really deep family values and a sense of doing the right thing for the common good of all has been slowly replaced by what can I get for myself with the least effort.
Being a lazy nation with less and less regard for sweat, craftsmanship, detail, or sacrifice of our time has lead to the mess we are in, physically, financially, and spirituality.
We spent the last forty years getting soft while people with a little more endurance, and determination worked like we used to and left us and our children in the dust.
