When you are playing in a NCAA college baseball regional tournament every error is magnified. If one error can cost you a game then four errors, by any account, is WAY too many.
On a sweltering hot Saturday afternoon in Gainesville at McKethan Stadium the Gators beat the Hurricanes 5-4. With that result, the June swoon continues for your Miami Hurricanes.
Miami helped the Gators by gifting them a few runs as has become habit during their visits to the swamp filled and reptile infested are of the Sunshine State.
It took the lowly reptiles from the slimy, smelly town somewhere in North Central Florida until the bottom of the ninth inning to subdue the boys from the 305.
Still, the Gators did manage to get the job done just as they did last year at the same location where Hurricane dreams apparently go to die.
It seemed that even in spite of the errors that Miami played well enough to win but could just not get over the hump against the Gators.
The Hurricanes took an early 2-0 lead before the Gators clawed back into the game. And then this player did that and the other pitcher did this, and well after some more blah, blah, blah, yeah U get it, the Hurricanes lost the stinkin game to the stinkin Gators.
Tomorrow the Hurricanes face the Dolphins of Jacksonville University at noon. If Miami wins they get the opportunity to once again face the dreaded Gators at 4 PM in the Championship Game.
GO CANES, BEAT THE 'PHINS AND THE GATORS!
