Already projected by many of the national recruiting services to have one of the best recruiting classes in the Country, the Miami Hurricanes football program will celebrate this achievement by hosting a National Signing Day party on Wednesday, February 1, from 6-8 p.m.
The event will be held at the lovely BankUnited Center on the stunningly beautiful campus of the University of Miami in Coral Gables.
The event is free to Hurricane Club members and admission is $1 for non-members. There will also be several UM fan activities and food and beverages available for purchase throughout the event beginning at 6 PM.
Three years ago Canespace had the opportunity to attend a similar event on the UM campus at the Hecht Athletic Center and we can tell you that these events are an excellent opportunity for Hurricane fans to meet, greet and get up close and personal with the new recruits.
There were several current players and new recruits that were made available for photos and autographs and we expect more of the same at this year's event.
The 2012 Class will be introduced by Coach Golden and his staff, complete with a highlight reel of the newest Hurricanes from 6:30-7:30 PM. At 7:30 p.m. Coach Golden will join the Voice of the Hurricanes, Joe Zagacki, live on WQAM to talk about the class.
Any fan attending the National Signing Day party is eligible to purchase a ticket to the Canes Men's Basketball game vs. Maryland for only $5.
Tip-off for the Atlantic Coast Conference game is slated for 8 p.m. at the BankUnited Center.
For up-to-the-minute news and updates throughout Signing Day www.hurricanesports.com is the place to be for all Miami Hurricane fans.
The site will provide interactive live coverage from the first signed National Letter of Intent through the fax machine to the last one with live interviews and commentary from Golden, his coaching staff, and Don Bailey Jr.
We look forward to seeing U all there and GO CANES!

Interesting read:
Top football talent shifts to the South
By Paula Lavigne
ESPN.com
High school senior Eddie Williams has been fortunate in many ways. Fortunate to have been offered a scholarship to play football at Alabama. Fortunate to have an uncle who pushed him to practice and play as much as he could. Fortunate to have parents who worried enough about him following his friends' path toward crime and gangs to send him out of town to live.
But of all the factors that propelled Williams to become a top recruit, none may be more important than the simple fortune of having been born in Florida.

This is a little exchange..I think..someone and Howards mom..
Wayne @Wayne1430- UFamily 1player dus not make or break this team, Love Tracy Howard & his Mom, but it aint gonna happen for us. Like I said its all good tho!
Shaiy (Football Mom) - I see this is turning into a dog & pony show, one of the main reasons Tracy does not have a Twitter account....
Shaiy (Football Mom) - In my opinion, one player is not going to impact a team that much, unless you are Peyton Manning.

Work is still pretty slow; VA has a good economy; housing picking up some, still slow. Going to have it appraised, and demand (since Countrywide really screwed me before BOFA bought them) they do a mark to market accounting adjustment, base my note on the value. If not, I will walk away. I am pumped for Wednesday. I have been asked to coach at a big JV program here....again, no $....but I have never been in it for $. I'd love to see a top-rated, yet noncommited, recruit on NSD sit down at the table with three hats in front of him . . . each one bearing the distinctive U logo. Then, the recruit could give a little speech explaining the he looked at an array of schools and decided that ONE was best for academics, ONE was best for producing NFL super stars, and ONE provided him the best opportunity to compete early for playing time. Then, he should mimic the old "hat trick" with the three hats, before proclaiming "after considerable thought and serious analysis" that MIAMI was the best choice for him in EACH of his three main selection criteria. Finally, he puts on ALL THREE HATS!
If a recruit would do this, he would immediately become an instant NSD legend (and my favorite new player) at the U.

NSD will be here in TWO days. Breathe deep and sleep WELL Miami fans, sleep well...

Good point, til the ink is dried, the kids are in school, and the commies at the NCAA who hate us say it is ok, don't get too worked up. Yes its a great time to witness, but this does not change things immediately, it does point to better days and a brighter future for the team.
For some reason, all the guys that left to try and play in the NFL...not all of them are really that good....they were not so hot here...they know who they are....is a good sign. Kind of like getting rid of dead wood, or cutting out a bad spot on an apple. I really think too many of them did not like hard work, were not dedicated to school, to UM and did not like rules that were strict. Too much ego, too much twitter and tweeting, too much talk.....and for that class in particular.....no legacy left behind, a very subpar record.
Heres to them leaving, hope you do ok....but I am interesed in guys who really want to play hard, and go 110 all the time. I will give an exception to S Spence....that guy played hard all the time, and I think he will find a roster in the NFL...hope so. Too many egos with the others. JMO Country AZZ VA!!!

Tracy Howard to Miami? Don't discount it.
By Dieter Kurtenbach January 30, 2012 10:23 PM
Didn't know Shaiy Howard went to Miami:
There are two factors that go directly in Golden's favor: his stud wide receiver recruit and an alum of the school.
Those two people are Malcolm Lewis and Shaiy Howard. In other terms, Tracy's best friend and his mother.
Perhaps that's the reason my gut said "Miami."

Seriously, I don't think the Northrups, Howards, and Hamiltons break this class. It's pretty much built.
1. A QB coached by Ty Detmer in a location known for its difficulty.
2. The best tailback in the country.
3. Ryan Williams!
4. At least two highly touted and competitive offensive linemen.
5. A solid group of at least two receivers.
6. At least two talented and motivated members of the secondary.
7. Raphael Kirby is on campus.
Anything else is ice. I've always liked ice. How about yo[]_ _[]?

And judging by how He "rated" His visit, He didn't sound to thrilled:
Memo to Mark Richt, Jimbo Fisher, Will Muschamp and Al Golden: Harvey-Clemons can’t take your phone calls over the next couple of days.
That’s because Josh lost his phone at the Fat Tuesday’s restaurant during his official visit to Miami, according to his grandfather. “We lost it there, and went back to get it later that night and the place was closed,” Clemons said. ‘The Miami coaches said they would help get the phone back to us.”

Throw away the negatives ($$$, promised jobs, corrupt culture, etc.). Choosing a school is a big deal. You're going to have to choose a city, a school, a major, and attempt to excel in sports. Some are academically inclined first, some not. The influences of friends, parents, coaches, and fans often clash. You're 17-18. Dating someone you love/like/texting/lol/? How's that going to go when she's in Vanderbilt and you're in "THAT" school (FSU).
I can sympathize with being unsure.

Is a 2nd year Finnie, who was a 3 star will all the tools to be good 2 years of UTough >=Freshman Bush or Howard? I say Howard is starting by the 3 or 4th game. Bush grows into a safety but plays Nickel and dime this year. Finnie slides over next year to take MCgee's spot and we have Howard and Finnie next year as out DB and Bush and Crawford as our SS and FS.

Certainly makes sense from an optics standpoint, the Texas recruits having less upside. Texas has been what, top 3 in recruiting every single year or something? And yet, they still get annihilated by an Oklahoma team that was annihilated by Ok St.; UCLA, other teams.
Granted Texas could be beast with the youth of the team. My bet is that they stumble however.

Yup that's true Texascane. Tis why I tossed in UCLA. That game was ridiculous. Didn't that defensive coordinator become UF's coach? :)
Full on meltdown at Florida if Agholor, Leonard Williams go to USC, Avery Young goes to Georgia, and we land DHamilton and TH.

McCord doesn't act like he is waffling. Then again, we have seen it before. lol. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I don't see how McCord is catching the "wavering" or "soft verbal" tag. Wasn't he texting uncommitted recruits of UM when he was on his USC visit trying to get them to commit.

Rivals.com reporting two committed Gators have other schools LOIs, per some Florida Gators ahole on Twitter and an ESPN recruiting guy. Poole (possible to ND) and Powell.
Enjoy the fall ladies and gents, they deserve nothing more for not scheduling the U.

Felipe, interesting.
How is a school like Florida (Ya, I hate em too, but they're very well known and in the $EC) losing all these top recruits? I'm hearing they're gonna miss on Angholor, Hamilton, Howard, and now Poole and Powell?
Wow.
