When we first thought about what the University of Miami football team and second year head coach Al Golden needed in the critical 2012 recruiting class the term first came to mind.
Then when we met UM offensive line coach Art Kehoe at the FHSAA championship game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando a few weeks ago he used the term to describe this year's haul of high school players.
When we watched the U.S. Army All-Star Game yesterday and all of the highly talented high school football recruits commit to Miami we thought about the term once again.
The term that will be used for the 2012 UM class is: "The Mother Load".
That is exactly what the University of Miami football team and talented coaching staff are getting this year in Coral Gables. The latest star-studded names to join the 2012 recruiting class at Miami are:
DB Deon Bush
DL Tyriq McCord
WR Robert Lockhart
These players are only part of what we will come to know as "The Mother Load" when people refer to the 2012 class of Miami Hurricanes.
So stay seated and do not get your knickers all in a wad UM fans, the 2012 recruiting class is just going to get better and better by the minute.
Trust me on this!

I'm reading Antonio Crawford is being recruited by Golden and staff, even tho he's currently committed to GT.
Coaches saw him cover Malcolm Lewis in the State Finals and offered him. He's thinking about taking a visit.
Another is 3 star lineman, Ryan Brodie, who knows Golden from his days at Temple.
There are a few more, including Duke Johnson's cousin. Read here: http://www.seventhfloorblog.com/2012/1/9/2693533/on-the-radar-whats-next-for-canes-recruiting

"The last guy I will mention is by no means a sure thing, but Miami is at least in the ballpark for him. The nation's number one recruit according to Rivals, Dorial Green-Beckham (Player Profile), has been targeted by what seems like every major school in the country, and will good reason. He has been compared to Andre Johnson, which is high enough praise for anyone. He stands 6'6" and weighs in at 220, yet runs a 4.43 forty, which is just stupid. Miami has offered him, and they have briefly spent time in some of his many top choices. He has not really tipped anyone off as to who he is leaning towards, or who his favorites are, but the general consensus is that he will end up in the SEC."

P.J. Williams? Avery Young?
It's not a big deal to me. McCord holds, I'm happy.

Nice couple of articles - got caught up on my reading. I watched Denver beat Pittsburgh last night - without an injured Roethlisberger that would not have happened. I never minded all the Tebow hype - the NCAA had him as their poster child during his collegiate career so we heard ALOT about him, and if that person does not play for your team it can get annoying. And yeah he is a fullback more than anything but the guy plays hard, has heart and is a leader. I would have taken him for the Canes.
Have you all been behaving since I was gone? LOL!

I'm a little confused by the secondary and the interior O-Line.

I don't know FOR SURE who the silent commits are, but I do have a couple of GUESSES. If I'm right, Canes fans will be ECSTATIC!
My guesses are:
PJ Williams
Darius Hamilton
REACH OF THE YEAR: Dorial Green-Beckham.

This is a FACT!
I can tell you who the new "Twitidiots" are at UM also (and I hope they read this too) based on the amount of foolishness that appears on their accounts:
Jermaine Johnson
Eduardo Clements
There are others too trust me but those too take the cake.

Well, the sun has finally shined on Da "U". Now I can quit moaning & groaning. Getting Bush was a must but getting McCord was a bigger surprise. and we finally got another DT, thank you. We have to hang on to Northrup and it somehow feels like we are hanging on by a thread with him. Losing Brown to the wannabe Louisville Canes, is on thing but losing Norhtrup would be painful. Both those guys have ready made Lb size

Dorial beckham moves down here with his little bro whos sick and recieves first class medical care is my opinion.

2 notes from Deon Bush interview:
1) Bush told by UM coaches he will come in as a CB.
2) Bush said by far UM recruited him the hardest.

EXACTLY why he's my GUESS of REACH OF THE YEAR silent commit.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | January 09, 2012 at 02:30 PM
Justing reading over at another site and those boys seem to think, Northrup is done with us and it's a FSU -UNC battle. I hope we have a back-up plan if he bolts. We need big LB's.
I don't know who the silent commit is, but my guess would be someone who has been to the campus. It would be hard for me to believe someone outside the State, would give us the silent verbage, having never been here, nuless he's like a lot of us, Diehards!
The only 3 I could think of would be Williams, Howard or Goldman. The FSU boys seem to think he's theirs for the taking but I believe Bama, is where he ends up.
Posted by: herbieibis | January 09, 2012 at 02:55 PM

1. U take a drink for every known commit when they fax in their LOI.
2. U take a shot for any silent that sends in their LOI.
3. U take a shot and a drink for any four or five star recruit in the ESPN top 150.

Soup find my long post, i wonder why the system does that?
Does anyone else think the the SEC VS. MIAMI is like Superman II
LSU= General Zod
UF=Non
Bama=Ursa
MIAMI= Superman of course
Those guys had all the powers of superman and the advantage of no morals no soul and teamwork and still got beat in the end by Superman.
Kinda Like Miami we are one of the only teams that on pure talent historically can match man for man with the entire SEC, we have they speed, they have speed etc etc. But MIAMI has to run a tight ship AKA Morals whereas the SEC gets a free pass in the media. They get a Superconference where we have tradionally been independent or in weak conferences. They have all the advantages in the world and at times get a leg up on us. but in the end we will prevail
Daaaa da da da daaa, Daaa daaa dumm

Miami vs SEC is a none issue...."Da U" or "The U"(whatever u wanna call it) versus the administration is the issue. The SEC schools treat football like a religion and the kids play that way. The SEC has 1-2 great teams a year and the rest are mediocre at best. LSU was dead for a long time. I love what they have done--OWN THEIR STATE! Sure they lose one or two and pick up a few from FL or TX but for the most part there a LA team..Sound familiar?? Miami has to take care off and be Miami..damn the other schools. Either you R a "big dog" or a chihuahua.

As far as Tracy Howard is concerned, don't forget about Angelo Jean-Louis, He may be a CB yet, and a BIG CB at that. That kinda blunts not getting TH or any other of the "big name" CBs...

All I want to know, what happened to that supposed California connection, we had with Carrol as our Natioanl recruiting coordinator. Last year we had several kids out West that were considering us, this year not even a peep. I mean, we have enough here to keep us busy, without trying to get a kid 3000 miles away.

Good article great comments. The guys who choe to go to Louisville, ECU, Maryland....good luck. I would rather a guy not come here than come here uncommitted and unsure. It does not work like that!!!!

The analogy is us againt the world. Superman has no real help. He battles powerful foes with no help.

I am still around Soup. I am dissappointed at how horrible the defense played but I give credit to the broncos who out coached and out played the steelers.

I can tell you who the new "Twitidiots" are at UM also (and I hope they read this too) based on the amount of foolishness that appears on their accounts:
Jermaine Johnson
Eduardo Clements
There are others too trust me but those too take the cake.
Let's go LSU beat Alabama
As for Tebow i didn't expect Jesus to come back on earth to play football.

I just hope Canes players read Canespace and "get it"
Plus please Mr. Golden ban all social medias for the "players" during football season...No distraction focus on academics and football...Be a winner all the way!
