Next week, beginning Monday, July 30 and ending Friday, August 3, University of Miami ticket representatives will be on site at Sun Life Stadium for a special Select-A-Seat Week.
After checking in at Gate E, fans will be taken on a personalized tour of Sun Life with the opportunity to purchase seats from any area of the stadium. Though scheduling appointments are unnecessary, fans can call (305) 284-2263 to do so. The Select-A-Seat event will run from 9 to 5 everyday next week.
"We're dedicating staff members to be on site for any fan that wants a real life view of their seats," said Blake James, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development & Ticket Operations. "We will be ready for tours of all seating levels, including the club and suite areas that are highly valued by our business clients and VIPs."
The 2012 home schedule includes four match-ups against Atlantic Coast Conference competitors, including rival Florida State during Homecoming weekend (Oct. 20) and 2012 Sugar Bowl participant Virginia Tech (Nov. 1). The Hurricanes open up their home schedule against Bethune-Cookman (Sept.
15) and close it out against USF on Senior Day (Nov. 17).

alright canerock I respect your loyalty.
I've been a Cane fan for 36 years
I choose to root for the current team, "this year's model" if you will.
Everyone feared Attila The Hun and his team too, how many championships have they chalked up lately?

He looks the part,” Soldinger said of Carter. “He’s strong as an ox. I mean really strong. He runs 4.47 and power cleans 255, squats 515 and benches 315. And he hasn’t even been working all summer the way he should be. He doesn’t work the way he needs to work to win a national championship.
“It is ridiculous what is going on in college football right now with all the colleges having camps and stuff where kids have to go to get offers. How can I get that kid better if he is running around going to camps? We have had 21 workouts here since June and this guy has only been here half the time.
“I brought Portis in here specifically to talk to him. Clinton came in and talked to the team for an hour. He asked me where is that kid you wanted me talk to. I said he is not here. Do you believe that? I’m working with him and trying to get him better and let him know what it takes to be a special elite athlete. He’s not a bad kid. He’s a good kid. But he has to be more focused.”
That Soldinger is on the case is a big reason Miami decided to give Carter a committable offer this early despite some of the question marks surrounding him. Soldinger has had regular conversations about Carter this summer with his old coaching buddy at UM, Art Kehoe.

Carter is already 6'2 3/4, is now power cleaning 270. Sol compares him to Sean Taylor, the kid has play making ability has ran back 7 return for TD. Wow this kid with Deon Bush at S with Crawford and Bush at CB. BEAST MODE D we are about to have.

"I think what happened before we got here was he had the freedom to show up a little late to meetings, practices and didn't have to pay the consequences,"
he also says the 17-year old senior-to-be has room to grow when it comes to maturity.
Soldinger said he brought in former Canes running back Clinton Portis to speak to the team earlier this month. Carter, he said, was the only player to miss the meeting.
"Pissed me off," Soldinger said. "I really wanted Portis to talk to him, help get his butt in gear."

Roger that. We needed Solly to rip into them too when it was needed but he has not quite YET been welcomed back into the "Cane Family" like Kehoe. Maybe one day for special teams coach when Barrow leaves for the NFL?
The question is might Barrow leave anytime soon?
The answer is maybe...

Soldinger would love shot to go back to The U
"I hope does enough research just to talk to me," Soldinger said Saturday at the Citrus Bowl as he watched Miami Central play Orlando Dr. Phillips in the Class 6A state championship game. "Whether he comes up to me or not, I think I can help him. I know so many people in the state, still have a little bit of coaching left. The way it all ended wasn't good. I had a great career and I like to finish it off on the right note.
"[Golden] seems to want to want to have some sort of tie to the old players and tradition whereas I think Randy [Shannon] kind of made a mistake that way, turning a few people off that way. I love Randy because I coached him. But I think he kind of pushed some guys away.
"We'll see what happens. I've kept my hands in football in case something happens. I actually did a clinic for Butch [Davis] recently, went up to North Carolina, met with their staff for a few hours. I did a high school clinic for them. He really doesn't have anything there yet. But this is the first time I thought about leaving Miami. I haven't wanted to because my wife does real good in real estate. But if something came open I'd certaily like to help out."

I like that Miami is doing a 2nd Select A Seat this year. Looks like they are making a concerted effort to entice fans to come to games. My prayers are with you Hassan. Guys I feel our Canes will go 9-3 and win their first ACC Coastal division. I look forward to a great season of Canes football and good times with my Canespace family.
