In what was beyond a doubt one of the worst performances in the recent history of the Miami Hurricanes' football program the men from the Kansas State Wildcats completely humiliated the boys wearing orange and green by the score of 1,456 to 13.
Or at least something close to that. It seemed at least that bad and maybe, if possible, even worse.
Al Golden's previously sparkling and shiny coaching reputation showed some serious signs of tarnish after the total thrashing by another coach generally considered old enough to be his grandfather in the silver haired Wildcats' head coach Bill Snyder.
Historians and current 'Canes fans alike will not be kind to Golden, the coaching staff, players or the program in general after this sad debacle of a contest. Certainly, ticket sales and recruiting took a major blow from this pitiful performance by the 2012 football team in Manhattan.
I can't bring myself to watch it but if you have the courage here is Coach Golden, showing his tarnish and all, after the game:
Maybe the Canes can find a way to beat Bethune-Cookman College next weekend at home. At least we hope so because we will be there to witness the game in person at Sun Life Stadium.
Or at the very least we plan to have a seriously tarnished tailgate party.
