Dinich and her ACC power rankings:

4. Miami (3-1, 2-0; LW: No. 9) -- Not even coach Al Golden knows what to expect with such a young team, but one thing was clear in the road win over Georgia Tech -- his players believe in him and want to win for him. Don’t look now, but the baby Canes have a chance to win the division. How about a Miami-FSU title game?

http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/44690/acc-power-rankings-week-5-5

86Cane

Dinich completely changing her tune about OUR Hurricanes in just a few days? YUP!

LB

That latest Raising Canes episode is spooky deceptive. The title is "Home," and the crowd doesn't exist. It should be called "Family," since it's a people-centered piece. In fact, perhaps it's best not to title the documentary until it's "in the can."

WWIM

Ohio and Zilla,

Y'all raising another cane this year right? I'm bout to raise another one today. Yes I just raised one last October and it hasn't been a year yet but you know how we roll on Da Space we gets busy lol. Hey we gotta do something if the canes ain't doing nothing

Posted by: Willie Will in Nashville | September 24, 2012 at 08:57 AM

LB

Congratulations to Susan Miller Degnan! Her man, Seantrel, is co-listed as a starter on offense.

A tribute to the happy day!

I watched the game at my buddies house. 4 FSU fans, 2 Gator fans, 1 Oklahoma fan and 1 ND fan (crazy I know right). Boy they sure were gloating...til the comeback. What a finish! GO CANES!!

Posted by: RDurk4 | September 24, 2012 at 01:05 AM

U must have rode one mean roller coaster of winning, losing and then winning again in front of those haters. Tough ride, glad U help on tight!

Oh and BTW...Welcome to The Space.

86Cane

LB...has Seantrel proposed to SMD yet? LOL

She should be his agent, forget Rosenhaus.

WWIM

So we could be returning 10 starters on offense and 9 on defense next year right

canezilla

WILLIE U CRAZY DOG!!! WE ONE AND DONE!!!WE ARE BLESSED WITH OUR BOY(WHAT WE WANTED)CANT TAKE A CHANCE AND END UP WITH A GIRL!! HAHAHAH

LB

"LB...has Seantrel proposed to SMD yet? LOL

When it happens, that song is a MUST. I see a warm summer day, a confused Al Golden, and clips of Top Gun in the background.

Makes me feel all sentimental.

Ohio_Cane

Willie Will, I've got just the one Mini-Cane. She's almost 14 months now. No new ones. Yet. ;-)

Congrats on your new bundle of joy tho! Best of luck!

Walk-on of the decade!

LB

"So we could be returning 10 starters on offense and 9 on defense next year right"

We get a load of players back, but starting? Hmmm... not sure. I have a feeling some of the 2013'ers will have something to say about that on defense.

Minus Linder going pro, I think the entire starting five (+ SMD's Seantrel and the rest) offensive linemen return. That's awesome news.

Morris will be back and should start (I like him).

Mike James will be gone (hate it), but Duke, Eduardo, and Dillard will be more than up to the task.

I have no idea about tight end and wide receiver. Jean-Louis should also be in the mix.

Spots are open everywhere, though. Especially on defense.

I don't see Finnie, Chickillo, Bush, or Johnson getting unseated. Other than that? Wide open.

We're 3-1. Wow. That feels great to say.

Ohio_Cane

SMD - Perryman had cast removed yesterday, according to Golden. But coach said he didn't know his status.

WWIM

Ohio,

Thanks, I hope your little girl is doing good

Special teams DEMON!

86Cane

* After a thrilling come-from-behind OT road win, the Miami Hurricanes return home to host NC State at Sun Life Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. EDT and will be aired on ESPNU. Saturday will be the 14th all-time meeting between the programs, with UM owning a 7-5-1 series edge. However, the Wolfpack has won the last two meetings.
* Miami and NC State have not met on the gridiron since Nov. 29, 2008 - the longest stretch between two meetings for Miami's ACC opponents.
* Freshman RB Duke Johnson has 838 all-purpose yards through four games, the national leader in that category. He is on pace for 2,514 yards in 12 games. The single-season all-purpose mark at Miami is 2,102 by Willis McGahee in 2002.
* Junior QB Stephen Morris threw for a career-high 436 yards in Miami's 42-36 road win at Georgia Tech. Morris is the first UM quarterback to throw for 400+ yards since 2002 and it was the most passing yards by a UM QB since Gino Torretta's 485 yards against San Diego State in 1991.

86Cane

* Through four games, 17 freshmen have seen action for the Miami Hurricanes, including 14 true freshmen.
* Five freshmen have started at least one game for the Miami Hurricanes - true freshman RT Ereck Flowers, true freshman RB Duke Johnson, true freshman WR Malcolm Lewis, true freshman S Deon Bush and redshirt freshman LB Eddie Johnson.

86 check Facebook out now brother. The pictures finally went through. This is a big game for us this Saturday. Come out to Sun Life and help root our Canes on to victory against a solid NC State Wolfpack team.

Ohio_Cane

Can someone show some props for Art Kehoe?
That line tore it up against a really good defense.

Morris wasn't touched and threw for 436 yards. We rushed for 175 yards at 5.64 YPC.

86Cane

Sully...I got the photos, GREAT JOB!

Willie...check email.

Ohio...Kehoe's group looks like they are finally coming together. Even Big Ben Jones played a lot of minutes and played well according to Golden.

Beat NC State!

Ohio_Cane

Perryman AND Kirby may be back for this weekend vs NC State!!

Praying it happens!

herbieibis

I have never been so excited about being wrong. I did mention if we could hold the Techsters around 200 yds on the ground we would have a chance and they didn't get much more than that and that Jedd had to open up the play book, which he did. This helps our cause greatly towards that march to 6 wins. That's the magic number I'm looking at and anything after that is just gravey. This is going to be a see-saw all season. The defense is what it is but the if Jedd dials up the offense, week in @ week -out, we can put points up, these will surely, if anything else, be entertaining, sort of like '98. N.C. State will probably throw it 40 times, so will have to find a pass rush and my early prediction is us beating them 31-27. State has 3 greenhorn linbackers, so just maybe the TE's & RB's can have a field day, catching some passses.

I will find U for sure this time! U are stil an EAST sider correct?

86Cane

Sarasota...where U at? Matt Goudis may play this week if Botts can't go. Did he punt against GT after Botts was hurt (ankle), I forgot?

UMike

If Morris had managed to keep the ball up a little on those slant passes he might of thrown for 600 yards.

Not Happening. They are limping

j.w.

Good day all, missed a week from a vacation taht CGNC will appreciate- one week at the Arizona Cowboy College in Scottsdale. Had the time of my life, even if it meant I had basically no internet service, and limited cell phone service, for a week. I heard that I missed a great game. :) Just kidding- saw the game on tape late last night, what a finish! Loved seeing the young D come through at the end.

Ohio_Cane

I got news for U guys. We're gonna STOMP NC State!

Vault that. 25+ margin of victory, guaranteed!

Ohio_Cane

Dorsett and EJ are WR and LB of the Week in the ACC:

U are 100% correct sir. Once he starts hitting those instead of throwing them into the ground at the WR feet we will really be cooking with grease.

Careful there's a ditch on both sides of the road.

Panamacitycane

Im slowly coming back down to earth..we had a great game this past weekend and they played with heart. Lets not forget golden and company have a history of stopping the option offense. But on passing when they did they burned us more then I would have liked. Next week nc state has one of the best QBs in the ACC. I have high hopes miami will step up and win this game but just dont forget our secondary is still pretty weak and it scares the poo out of me. I think our offense will play good and we will score im just worried that it will be a shootout.

Im predicting
Canes - 38
NC STATE - 31

Ohio_Cane

Canes - 54
NC St - 27

86Cane

Ohio...54 POINTS??? DANM SON GIVE ME SOME OF WHAT U ARE DRINKIN!

Canes 34 NC State 24, first TD a seam route to Walford

Make it three in a row boys!

86Cane

pbcfr13...This year I am in the GREEN lot which is on the SE side of the stadium. Opens early and U can park wherever U want but it is only the second game parking there so we do not have it workd out just yet. Last time we were in EAST 5 at the end of the row closest to the stadium.

I MAY to be arriving late, not sure if I am going down on Friday night to the Hampton or driving down Saturday AM. I'll post details later this week.

Zilla is always an ORANGE lot EAST sider and they fly THREE flags UM so U may be able to find them. But there U have to park where they tell so U cannot predict where he is gonna be.

"Vault it" man I hope your right! This Canes team just may be turning the corner under Al Golden! See u at the game!!!

Jack

#44 is having a freshman year similair to #52 last year. The big diff is #44 is leaned on more his first year. Both are proving to be the type of linebackers we are used to seeing at UM. Now, if Paul and Kirby step up watch out! I can't. Wait til Sat. Lets go Canes!!
