Yeah... I'm looking forward to seeing Danny Dillard on a regular basis in the backfield. He could be my early pick for a 2013 LOF.

OK, I don't know if anyone is watching the 12/12/12 concert for disaster reilief for NJ after the hurricane but I will say this: There is some major talent there. Stones, Clapton, Bon Jovi, Bruce.

And if Alicia Keys makes love like she sings and plays the piano well then somebody is really lucky. She is very talented. I'm jus sayin...

The Dude

Dont sleep on our returning senior RB Clements either. He's also a talented guy.

The Dude

Oh yeah, and our unsung FB. What's his name again? Ha ha.

The Dude

We also return a ton of experience on the OLine. We will run all the live long day next year. Senior QB. What the over under on wins next year? These returners need to understand how important being successful next year is. Its the year to turn it around.

TonyCane

Dude, another crazy thing is that we are going to have SIX quarterbacks on the roster next fall (Morris, Williams, Dewey, Crow, Thompson, and Olsen). After years of having just two this is a profound change. I can't remember the last time that we had this much depth.

But if she is talented, that's just icing on the cake, hot fudge, and a cherry on top of the ice cream. Lol

Tony,

Good post the other day about this really being Golden's second year coming up. I don't think a lot of people really understand that

Old Skool

With all those QB's on the team, it looks like we're starting to schedule the patsies, pansies and never-heard-of states that will get them some playing time

So that's the offshoot of the "DDD" comments.

Thought Golden smoked Dillard's redshirt in the final game on special teams? Stills confused why that happened

HawaiiCane

For the last time... Golden did not burn Danny Dillard's redshirt! Give the man credit... he's a smart guy. The announcer mistook Tyrone Cornelius' jersey number for Dillard's jersey number and everybody went into an uproar. Mind you, this was the same game when Duke started on offense, the announcer introduced the 'Canes offensive line!!!

Canes CB Thomas Finnie released from jail; hearing set for Jan. 10

Finnie's high school coach Telly Lockette said Tuesday night he was disappointed to hear his former cornerback had run into trouble.

"He has a mother and a father he didn't need to do what he did," Lockette said. "I don't know if he was pressed. But I know he has a mom and a dad that love him. He's young, but you have to know right from wrong. Sometimes kids think they are invincible and it catches up with you. I try to tell them all the time one mistake can cost you everything. I hope that isn't the case for him."

I see where Al is going against my wishes and recruiting another 6'1 smurf to play DT, in Senat. I may blow a gasket if we get one more 6'0 or 6'1 linemen. Geez! Also he's starting to throw ships everywhere, so times must be tough, with some of the big dogs, so it looks like the big reach time.

Report: Miami's Al Golden turns down Wisconsin

By Tom Fornelli
December 13, 2012 2:40 pm ET

Would you leave South Beach for Wisconsin? Miami's Al Golden wouldn't.

On Thursday Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel reported that Miami's Al Golden, a favorite of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez, had "emerged heavily" as a candidate and that he was "mulling a decision today." Well, Golden made that decision on Thursday not long after Thamel's original report, and his decision was to humbly decline Wisconsin's offer.

Which is good news for Miami, because the Wisconsin job is an attractive job for a head coach, but Golden has chosen to stay in South Beach. Which considering the outside factors at Miami, says a lot about his dedication to the school.

Golden just finished his second season at Miami, and the Hurricanes have gone 13-11 during his two seasons. Miami qualified for bowl eligibility in both seasons but self-imposed a bowl ban each season in light of the ongoing NCAA investigation into the program.

There's no telling what penalties the NCAA might impose on Miami in the future, which could have been a factor in Golden's departure had he decided to leave.

In his seven seasons as a head coach Golden's teams are only 40-45, but is 30-19 the last four seasons.

So Golden didn't leave because He's uncertain of the penalties in the future...WTF! was Fornelli smoking.

**As expected, FSU OC James Coley visited South Plantation today and met with FSU commit John Franklin and RB target Alex Collins. Franklin sent out this tweet: "Coach Coley to smooth he just left from visiting me and @Budda03 #FSU"

**I exchanged a few text messages with Keith Bryant earlier today and he told me that Miami coaches haven't set up any more visits with him recently.

**I was told last night that Stacy Coley was "ready to commit" to Miami, but that FSU's offer to Eddie Jackson is a blow to Miami's chances. Jackson and Coley are very close friends.

When these recruits going to realize, this ain't about no package deal, unless you have the grades, similar talents and the need for the team. You may both go the same school, one of you plays and the other one gets lost in the shuffle and transfers, then what, you going to transfer too?
What's Bryant want us to do, beg him? Hey bro, you on the outside looking in. We'll get back witcha at our convenience! Tell us to take you off the committed list. We got better things to do besides playing games.

OC, not being vindictive, but it'll be real interesting to see if this tactic by FSU doesn't go as "planned"...reeeeeal interesting LOL.

herbieibis

What's really killing us is the fact we don't have but a limited amount of ships to pass out and kids we'd normally be after are on the back burner while we are being somewhat selective.

Lookin' at Collins's buddy (John Franklin), He stands to lose more should this not work out. The kid has offers from some of the top academic institutions in the Country... Navy and Air Force to name a couple.

But hey, to each his own, but I sure hope they're not being shortsighted...

herbieibis

The Jackson kid does have offers from LSU & Tenn. Must be pretty descent But that being said we all know what that is about!

If Al Golden felt he could win a ship at Wisc, he would jump ship in a heartbeat and probably take more money.

By turning down Wisconsin, this is a sign that things are changing at UM. Wisconsin is a great job. Perhaps, Al believes that with all the young talent in Coral Gables, a coastal division championship with a young team, and two bowl bans in the rear view mirror, Golden sees his chances at future ships better here in Coral Gables.

Golden will lead the Canes back to prominence.

solar. good to see you sir. and yes your eight golden. said that they should change the schedule some.

BigWindyCane1

Barry Alvarez knows a good coach, so his opinion of Golden carries a lot of weight. If he likes what he sees in Golden, then I think we can trust that opinion.

The Canes bring back key players for 2013 in nearly every position. With this cupcake 2013 schedule to start the Canes season, and a coastal division schedule that the young Canes proved they could master in 2012, the Canes could have a 10-2 or 11-1 record in 2013 (only Fla. and Fla. State seem formidable). The Canes are back.

Terrance Sullivan

Smart scheduling on Golden and AD part. Go Canes.

solarcane

wad up laq,
Just popping in to see you guys and read up on all things Cane.

Terrance Sullivan

It's not a cupcake nonconference schedule if you play a team that will be preseason top 5. Smdh. A cupcake nonconference is playing FIU, FAU, Savannah State, and USF.

Terrance Sullivan

Btw I also recognized its not a murderous row nonconference schedule either just like everyone else nonconference schedule. Let's win our division, our Conference, get to Orange Bowl and win at least 10 or more games.

Jack

Can't wait til we host UF 2013! We gonna smoke em!

Let's go Canes!!!!!

Montreal-Cane

Florida State's already lost its defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and running backs coach this carousel season.

Next up could be recruiting coordinator Dameyune Craig, who's reportedly being targeted by new Auburn coach Gus Malzahn. The Tigers were interested in Jimbo Fisher at one point, but if they weren't able to get him, might as well snag some of his assistants.

Something is wrong at FSU.
