On Saturday in Atlanta your Miami Hurricanes beat the Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech convincingly by the score of 35-21.
The 14 point margin was double the point spread and more than enough cushion for UM fans who watched at home or attended the game to enjoy the contest. Miami never trailed and scored twice on defense to solidify the victory.
The surprising thing so far this season is how dominant the young, inexperienced UM defense has been while the UM offense, which is admittedly Coach Richt's specialty, has struggled to find any sense of identity or any form of consistency even with a talented, veteran quarterback in Brad Kaaya.
Georgia Tech was Miami's first ACC game of the year and really their only true test so far this season. With contests against FSU and then North Carolina coming up in consecutive weeks the games will gradually get tougher before they get any easier.
As a result of their road win in Hotlanta Miami surged to 4-0 on the season and vaulted into the top 10 in the college football polls released on Sunday.
That ascension into some pretty rare air in and around Coral Gables lately is making most Hurricane fans feel a little light headed at the moment. A big win over FSU next week will likely make some of us pass completely out!
Now, if only Mark and Brad can finally get their synchronicity going and generate some positive synergy for the UM offense then this Hurricane team has no limits. If not, Hurricane fans could be facing another mid-to-late season swoon that we have become accustomed to around these parts.
Let's hope it is the former and not the latter.
