Hunter Knighton will not be back next year. Being shown the door and will be treated like a SR this weekend. He is a RS JR had the heat exhaution thing.

Hassan

You get those heat injuries when you have a head strength coach who can't pass a test

VfB_Cane

Per Barry:

Brad Kaaya’s return is also in question; he hasn’t told UM his intentions.

Asked if he hopes that Kaaya will return and whether another year would benefit him, Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown said: “Absolutely. I hope everybody returns. A couple guys who have a chance to [go to the league]. We can be really special if those guys come back.”

He said he has no idea if Kaaya will turn pro – he said he has never even thought about the subject - and Richt said he wouldn’t discuss that with Kaaya until after the Duke game.

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article116459203.html

UMike

I'm not a Kaaya hater, but also don't think he is close to a 1st rounder. I think he is above average, just not elite. That being said, I still think he gives us the best chance to win next year. Allison couldn't even beat our Rosier this season and Perry is still playing HS ball. Either of them could very well be the future, Perry certainly looks the part but so did Allison.

BigWindyCane1

The Canes have struggled to find themselves this season under the new coaches and systems. But in my mind, there is no question that they are young, much better than they were under Golden and improving game by game. I see young players being developed and there are several future NFL draft picks on this young team.

I hope Kaaya, Njoku and Thomas return next season. Along with the returning players and new recruits, the Canes could be a juggernaut in college football

roachcane77

I'm afraid I see Kaaya staying, and Njoku and Thomas both leaving.

I would LOVE all 3 to stay, but sadly, I'm not feeling it.

Looking forward to seeing how the last 2 games shake out for our team, AND for those 3 players...

Wish we could find a way to keep Corn Elder another year!

Let's Go CANES!

UMike

Its been a pleasure watching Elder this year, what a difference. I remember watching the FSU game, the only reason we had a chance at the end is Elder. When Cook broke free for what looked like a sure TD Elder caught him from behind. JJ got the pick a snap or two later and they didnt score. Hes been everywhere making plays and should be a high draft pick, maybe even a 1st rounder with the premium on DB's in the NFL

Go Canes!

Can't see Thomas leaving. His consistency has just not there. Him going would remind me of Tommy Streeter who thought one good, not even great season could get him drafted after years of underachieving and was very disappointed in draft day.

The only one I see going is Njoku, who's physical gifts are so overwhelming, his drops and questionable blocking may be overlooked. Dude has Jimmy Graham level freakness teams will get blown away by.
'

CoCane

Naw... Njoku, Thomas or Kaaya put up enough stats.

Neither will get drafted 1st round.

CoCane

Didn't put up enough stats

Go Canes!

Agree Co.

Njouku gets drafted based on freak physical ability but the stats don't warranty of them going early.

Go Canes!

any of them

Ohio_Cane

There is no possible way Kaaya has decided yet. The Sports Bank or whatever website is lying to get hits.

UMike

How do you know for sure he hasnt? lol

UMike

Kaaya might think the OL is gonna get him killed to time to bail haha

Ohio_Cane

The report was that he's decided already to come back. That throws a wrench in your theory lol

UMike

This is true!! lol... I didnt see a report, just your post lol...he may have said no way he is a high round pick this year and knows he needs to stay...there fixed it

Ohio_Cane

I'm saying he's smart enough to wait to decide until he hears from the NFL advisory committee and Richt, which Richt said would be done after the Duke game with Njoku and Kaaya.

UMike

I can agree with that... BUT...I also think hes smart enough to know his stock has fallen this season

Ohio_Cane

There's no doubt he knows his stock has fallen, but how much is the question he's still asking, because he won't know until the advisory committee comes back and that's in January I believe.

UMike

Remember when we thought Morris was a 1st rounder...a season later he goes undrafted.

Ohio_Cane

I NEVER thought Stemo was a 1st rounder lol

Bowdy

Kaaya & Thomas are definitely coming back & if Njoku wants to play 1 season to look out for his lil bro, that's only way he stays . somebody will grab him by middle of 2nd round bc he's a physical mismatch. I believe he wasn't used much early on purpose to get him for another year. #'s mean nothing besides his height, weight, hand's, vertical jump & 40 time.If he does come back with Kaaya throwing to him, Cager, &Richards will average 40 plus/game.Im really waiting to see Homer running the rock next year cuz he can score from anywhere on the field. We shall have the most loaded backfield in NCAA, not to mention a top 5 defense. The U will be special beginning next year & will be favored every game except @Florida St.& maybe not favored in Acc Championship. Don't be shocked when the U destroys everyone on their schedule. Personally I know Kaaya is coming back to play another year in Richts pro style offense & improve on a few things. He also knows their gonna be really good too. I can't wait for Nkosi Perry though & he will be our next QB & win another chip for the U. For anyone that doubts, just look at upcoming schedule. 2018 LSU, then Floria, then Texas A&M. Next year is only year we don't play Sec & will get revenge on Notre Dame. We should have 18 returning starters, top 10 incoming class,& 2nd year in new system. #Its all about the U #Its great to be a Cane #Gonna be a lot of 70 point games next year & we'll be competing with Bama real soon.

UMike

I NEVER thought Stemo was a 1st rounder lol

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | November 23, 2016 at 10:38 AM

True...maybe not all of us. But heading into his senior season a couple mock drafts had him a 1st rounder.

UMike

Bowdy... I agree about Homer. I would like to see him get some carries.

How ironic to see the canes and my raiders both arriving back on the scene, after both left at the same time. The herb new the worm had to finally turn and listen to Bruce buffer "it's time"!

Hard to say we are a legitimate team that's built to win over the long term we are still so far the scholarship limit.

We still need a lot of players at a lot of different positions I will consider us "back".

Posted by: TJL | November 22, 2016 at 08:56 PM"

No. Notre Dame didn't win by kicking fatso's useless hide all around Chicago because a football player cheated at school thanks to the the college.

Miami still takes the loss, just like they would have still taken the win if the score was-- BWHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Whoops, couldn't finish that sentence without ROTFLMAO. Anyway. Nice try to salvage some ganes fan pride though, but no dice, as always.

Captain Canespace is dragging this jalopy kicking and screaming behind him, but in the end, will they thank him?

As for the blog name dropping Hurricane Legends Randy Shannon and Jacory Harris;

"Well you did say probably! J12 or I as I used to call him "JInt" at least beat FSU and OU, who has Kaaya beat again?

Posted by: SinisterCane | November 22, 2016 at 08:57 PM"

LMAO! Bears are on line one again, looking to trade down, to the second day.

Report: LSU has given Jimbo Fisher an ‘extremely substantial’ offer

Hassan

Kaaya still needs to develop. His body could use 10-15 lbs, when he came in he had high body fat, with this new strength staff he can reshape his body this off season and get closer to 230 which is where he should be. He can work on the finer aspects of QB play and lead the team to a great 2017.

Njoku has plenty of stats and potential to go 2nd rd. Almost no TE has gone 1st rd in the past 6 years. Njoku wont make much by staying it would mainly be for his brother.

God willing I will be at the game Saturday. Hope to see canespace types there

"The private bus company involved has had 36 crashes with injuries in Tennessee alone since 2014, the Tennessean newspaper reported."

There's a key word in there.

Why would Shannon ever do that?

It would be a massive demotion in prestige and I'd assume salary.

The family nickname of Tony began with Gaiter II. His grandmother gave him that nickname, and it stuck.

His son, Elbre Bernard “Tony” Gaiter III, was a three-time state champion in the 200 meters at Miami Killian High, running some of the best times in the nation for a high school kid.

A 5-8, 170-pounder, Gaiter III was the fastest athlete in his family and can still run well at age 42.

“I think he could give you a solid 4.5 [seconds in the 40-yard dash] right now,” Gaiter IV said.

Gaiter III said he could have become a track star. Instead, he devoted himself to football, first at Killian, where he earned All-State honors as a senior running back, rushing for 1,011 yards, 19 touchdowns and a 9.4-yard average, and then at UM, where he scored seven TDs as a senior.

Porter: Mark Richt said he "heard this, and I believe it," that Miami could set a program record Saturday: every game w/ more than 50,000 fans.

TonyCane

Okay...so Louisiana has a budget crisis that makes them threaten to shut down LSU football only last spring. Now the school will presumably offer Jimbo in excess of 6M a year to come there. Or more.

This is the sort of thing that is soon going to blowback on schools via student protests over athletic fees and tuition.

That said, I hope the move sets both programs back.

Let's hope kaaya comes back, the herb sees it this way, it's true brad has bad footwork, it's true that he holds on to the ball too long at times, it is also true that the o-line is a sieve at times but do we actually hope he goes with all the starters we have back next year? Do we want to have to start a greenhorn qb? Uh not. It's true the herb had been on clod foots azz this fall, as well as richy richt and his pop warner play calling but I think we can all agree it has, all be it late, gotten better. It's true we are still missing a few pieces , like at least 6 more difference makers. At present I see maybe 3 that can help us next year. We still need the it rb, dt and wr, uh depth if u know what I mean. Diaz had our back this year and if everyone comes back, this Dee may be the best we've had in 15 years! If richt and Brad can get their shyt together we should be stout. That's all the herb has to say!

I've never been this fat BEFORE Thanksgiving! I'm gonna need to hit the treadmill hard when I return to the ATL from Florida!! I'm certain my Mom and my aunt are going to add 5 more pounds as well!!

We're gonna get to the stadium around 11-12 so I'm sure to run into Terrance and Soup and KY. I'll likely meet many more of you for the first time as well! I'm really excited about this game and my visit with family this weekend. The weather looks to be epic as well! See you all soon.

Saw this on CIS... thought it interesting

Canes have only allowed 7.8 points in the 2nd half this season . Diaz has pitched 3 2nd half shutouts. that is better then

Clemson 10.6 points
FSU 11.1 points
UF at 7.9 points

Bama 5 points
OSU 4.9 points

Terrance Sullivan

Sarasota that sounds like a plan brother
