Merry Christmas, Spacers! Hope all is well with all of U! 3 and 5 year old make this day much more special

Thanks for the article Go. Worthy read

VA Cane

Great read Go,

I really like young Jackson....he starts the bowl and next year if I have a say. He along with the 3 frosh LBs really played well. I really believe in getting young guys broken in; we were forced in a way, but I think the young guys played very well. Re suspensions....i hate to see Willis out; the other guys may affect STs none of them are really gamebreakers or playmakers. Guys have to learn to do the right things; I hate seeing them miss the game, but I respect CMR for sticking to discipline. He is pretty good at that.

I hope many of you get to the game; I look forward to watching the game.

CaneRock

RIP George Michael.

raizecane

I hope all you Canespacers had a wonderful Christmas celebration.... It was a festivus for the rest of us.....

The Dude

Good link on Jackson. He's standing on the shoulders of guys like Chad though. Next year he needs get stronger and his technique needs to get faster.

Herbieibis

I don't think Willis was playing any way. I think he had knee surgery recently.

Go Canes!

Hard to imagine any American male from the age of 35-65 who didn't buy an album or download a song from one of the great artists that passed this year.

Just about any type of musical taste was affected by the deaths of Bowie, Frey, Prince, Phife Dawg and Michael.

Crazy year.

ML alumni 1970

Merry Christmas to all the legion of Canespacers.
Everyone, please have a happy and healthy New Year, and get ready for a wonderful year of the U. I can hope, you know.
Leaving for Florida tomorrow morning. Hate the long drive, but my partner RICHARD, will be driving with me. Going to Satellite Beach for the winter. Looking forward to the warm weather, and know it will help with my fibromyalgia and pain all over. Still can't spell that word right!!!

VA Cane

Bowie, Frey, Prince, Phife Dawg and Michael.

Crazy year.

For sure...we also lost Leon Russell, Merle Haggard, Paul Kantner...founder of the Jefferson Airplane, Keith Emerson and Greg Lake of ELP,.....sad to lose all of these different people of different music styles who help us express how we act and feel. RIP and condolances to their families...we all lost some special people.

The Dude

I went to go see Merle Haggard a few years ago and the old drunk never got off the bus.

My beloved Raiders made it after 14 years....why not the Phins?

Regarding Merle; he was often referred to as "The Wine Stained Cowboy"; probably for good reason!!!!

Happy birthday to two Canespace legends I'd love to spend a night partying with.

Hope you fellas didn't get cheated by a bunch of people dropping the "This is your birthday and Christmas gift combined" bs on you. You guys deserve to properly scored for each event, especially because at your old ages there's no telling how many you have left.

Enjoy and nothing but the best fo both of you.

The Holy Spirit.

Still waiting on the dude blogger profile.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!

Happy bday soup and co, u jerks.

VA Cane

Happy Birthday to Soup and Cocane...best wishes...I hope you both got double the gifts you deserve it!!

Today there are 3 bowl games today; they should be at home.....5 of the teams are 6-6, MS State 5-7. Pitiful. Way too many bowl games....cannot watch bad football by bad teams Miami OH, MS State, MD, BC, NCSU, Vandy.....terrible football teams. The kids should be at their parents celebrating Christmas with their families not off playing another bad team in a meaningless, uninteresting, non fundamental bowl game......its blasphemy regarding good football. Heck I would rather see an 8 game playoff and use only the biggest bowls for them.....get rid of the rest!!!

SOUP

Are U sure? Here's the difference:

You go out partying with me the worst that could happen is you wake up on the floor of a hotel room in the Gables Inn broke and with a huge hangover.

You go out partying with CoCane you wake up naked and next to a dead hooker by the the railroad tracks in Pompano with a new tattoo, a black eye and a the remnants of a police taser stuck in your back.

U ain't ready for that!

Go Canes!

Boom: Porter-Things just got a little tense between Miami and WVU at the Give Kids the World charity outing. I'm not joking.

None of them?? No Eagles or Tribe called Quest?

This....this makes me very sad for you.

VA Cane

I am 58...Sr Citizen...lol...am a rabid VINYL collector...sure I have several hundred CDs...but I own over 5,000 vinyl records....many priceless collectibles from the 50s and on....love records.

I always find variety to be the spice of life. I do not own stuff by each departed artist, but I am sorry they passed, and have heard their music. I really liked Prince quite well.....saw him 1999 tour Purple Rain tour....great guy, some really cool records...havve a beautiful purple Purple Rain lp...rare. Like Prince. Bowie I have a lot of. Liked Eagles OK....have couple George M singles...I am not a rap guy at all....but my son has opened me up to Phife Sawg and other rappers....cause he plays it. I figure it cannot hurt to be aware of it....while I do not own any, I can listen with interest there is some neat music....remember variety the spice of life.

I am a classic 60s guy...Stones, MC5, Jefferson Airplane, Original Fleetwood Mac....all the great soul stars...Gaye, Redding, Pickett, Sam and Dave, Motown, Aretha....and all the blues....but again, I have learned to listen to all music...it expands the mind....I am sorry we lost all these talented artists....they all had something to say....and helped you and I to understand how we felt...and how to say it....RIP to them and bless their loved ones...JMO

Anybody got info on the little supposed scuffle with WVA...update us. We must win the game....important to us and the program....I want to win!!!!!

Dan Mullen

Man Mississippi State football sucks!!!

VA Cane

I know some of you are Dolphin fans....congrats...they really turned the season around.....I was very happy Oakland had a great year; I followed them since 65 or 66....my godfather was a coach for them for a long time. We have had a great year, but with Carr hurt, I am realistic. Maybe we can win a game with a backup....but I have to be realistic. He is our leader, he drives us, and I think without him being available, it will be a miracle if we win a game. I can hope....I am hoping hard!!!! LOL!!

SOUP

GO FINS!

VA Cane

One final note....watching The Herd...Cris Carter hosting...love Carter...he is funny and looks at things very well....
Why in the hell is Jerry Jones on the ballot for the non player HOF? Crazy!!! Who won him the 3 SBs and built the team...forget Switzer...our JJ put Rubberface on the map. how many SBs would they have won if Jerry would have let JJ run it? Jerry knows nothing about football....nothing...dont care if he played with JJ. He is the biggest idiot ....maybe in the world. Cowboys are a good team and their guys are good people for the most part.....but he is a moron.....I do not hate anyone....but he is close....great in business and oil....but an idiot about football. JMO

How any big time star players even THINK about going there and playing for that coach I have no idea. Oh wait...

Any time you beat a quality oppent like Miami, you take it anyway you get it, a win is a win.

http://caneswatch.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/12/26/tension-flares-between-miami-west-virginia-players-at-russell-athletic-bowl-event/

Dan Mullen

That was Miami of Ohio? I've obviously have lived in Mississippi for to long. But those cowbells make me smile like when we used to eat glue in the 2nd grade.

Go Canes!

Oof that was one ugly ass win.

VA Cane

Man Mississippi State football sucks!!!

Really....they are 5-7....in a bowl......perfect logic that there are way too many....get rid of all these crappy bowls with funny names and horrible teams. I can see 10-2 vs 8-4...our bowl....but when you start playing 6-6 vs 5-7....too much.

I say take the big bowls and make each a playoff game with 8 teams....you would need 7 bowls...take Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Fiesta, Gator, and Peach or whatever the biggest are...play them in the traditional places....and rotate the title game each year. These meaningless games are not necessary. While the kids get to go and enjoy...at 6-6 you should be at your parents enjoying them during Christmas. 6-6 you are not good, and it a waste of school money to send you there. It is just bad football....sloppy teams, non -fundamental teams, bad coaching....just not fun to watch. It is like little league where everybody gets s trophy just for breathing; it discourages excellence and achievement.

VA Cane

Thanks Go...I figured you or tony wuld know whaty was up..

....look likes they were talking a lot more than we were. It happens, kids get that way.....I do not like that kind of stuff....but times have changed since I played; I do not allow that stuff....but as long as there was no fighting or loud cursing.....it happens today. Lets just win on the field!

VA Cane

BC vs Maryland....MD ugliest unis ever...worse than Oregon....MD was in ACC...now in Big 10....turn it on...forget the date....still looks like 2 sorry ACC teams playing in november.....and nobody gives a damn about either team....they are both horrible teams.....these bowls have to lose money....who wants to see this horrible game Quick Lane Bowl....in a horrible city Detroit.....sad we have to have this stuff...only in America is money wasted like this.

I'm all for having as many bowl games as possible! The college season is too short as it is, and it doesn't get any better than watching games all day during the week.

Go Canes!

Totally agree Epi.

By February we'll be begging for anything to watch.

Mullens is actually a pretty good coach.

That program was a perrenial doormat when He took over, not they hover in the top half of the SEC-W year in & year out.

Wasn't my 1st choice for the UM job, but I wouldn't have been mad if we hired em'.

Surprised He hasn't gotten a serious look from bigger programs.

And the U definitely wasn't mine, just trying to get more money for being average just like Al.

However, Albert was the better shit shoveler and they (BOD) knew it at the time. With the investigation about to happen they had no choice to hire him none of us really wanted the job and Temple read the writing on the wall when he was 0-fer against Coach Solich and whomever W.Michigan had coaching. If you got the dime I got the time to tell you stories of the great $EC.

Does the name Cam Newton ring a bell?

Dan Mullen(Casual Coach)

Does the name Dal Presscot ring a bell?

Danny Kanell(casual commentator)AKA K Dizzle(Casual about everything)

Man Joey sure does a way better job and takes it more seriously than I but I'm just trying to get a gig like Palmer.

BigWindyCane1

An ACC team, NC State beat Vandy, an SEC team, by a pretty big margin in their bowl game today. The Canes beat a pretty good Wolfpack team at the end of the season, and this should help Canes strength of schedule. The Canes team that finished the season was a pretty good team, and they are building momentum toward this bowl game, national signing day and next season

BigWindyCane1

Though West Virginia has the better record (10-2) and is ranked 14th by the Associated Press (and 16th by the College Football Playoff committee), Greg McElroy isn’t surprised unranked Miami (8-4) is a slight favorite (2.5 points, as of Monday).

“As average as Miami’s been, their talent is still among the elite,” [Greg McElroy] said. “If you look at their bodies, guys along the defensive line, their quarterback is a marginal first-round pick, possibly — from a talent standpoint, they’re pretty outstanding. That doesn’t surprise me, given the perception of the Big 12 nationally, and how strong Miami has been when they’ve played their best ball.”

thirstybuzzardcane

^^^^^McElroy take on Kaaya was spot on in that article, which u never posted!

thirstybuzzardcane

Another SEC school Miss. State should of lost today too. I hate the overrated SEC! Wish Miami was playing the turds!

thirstybuzzardcane

McElroy is excited to watch Hurricanes running back Mark Walton, whom he called “the most underrated player in the country. I really believe that. He’s really good.” McElroy was impressed that Miami has been able to keep Walton’s workload down; he averages 16 carries a game.

Incidentally, Walton’s season-high (24) came in a game McElroy worked (North Carolina-Miami on Oct. 15). McElroy also manned the mic for Miami’s game at Appalachian State on Sept. 17 and West Virginia’s 34-10 win over TCU on Oct. 22.

More McElroy on Miami:

“I think Walton is fantastic,” he said. “I think David Njoku is fantastic. I think he’s as good a tight end as you’ll find in college football, when it comes to putting stress on a defense in the passing game. I really like Brad Kaaya, but he’s inconsistent. His best is as good as anybody, but his worst is below where he should be. He’s not as consistent as I’d like; he’ll get that sorted out if he comes back, which I’d recommend.

“If he plays like he did at Pitt and Duke, no doubt he’s a first-round pick. If he plays like he did earlier in the year when he was inconsistent, he looks very average.”
