Aaron Hernandez commits suicide.

What a waste....

Go Canes!

What a lack of waste.... of taxpayer money both in the courts and maintaining his sorry ass in prison for the next 60 years.

Wish more scumbags like him and the piece of human waste pick that killed the gentleman on Facebook would take the same action.

Omg... They have Hernandez on ESPN all morning. Is he really worth this much attention? What say you Legion?

Old Skool

If people watch, it's worth it to ESPN. The bigger question, is it worth it to you?

For me, it's more important to clip my toenails and remove lint from my belly button

Old Skool

If Hernandez news does well in the ratings for ESPN. Expect specials on Rae Caruth and Darren Sharper

Exactly what I was gonna say.

nemo2002

A day after he was found not guilty in the double murder trial, his lawyer said that there was a chance that Hernandez might be getting out of prison soon (where he was serving a life sentence for the other crime). But no one believed it.
Well, I guess the attorney was right.
Aaron Hernandez is getting out of prison, very soon.

Jobe is over and done with. UM lock. 2.5 hour meeting with Coaches and academic staff, along with parents.

He's ours for good, and is ELITE. Will be a 5* by NSD.

Mountain Cane

CB could go from an area with questions to a team strength if this class closes as is.

Ohio_Cane

Miami got news virtually as good as a commitment on Wednesday night when Josh Jobe announcing that he is all in with his pledge to the Hurricanes. Jobe was previously being associated heavily with Alabama.

CanesInSight has the inside story as Jobe solidified his commitment tonight.

Jobe arrived on campus around 4 in the afternoon on Wednesday with his father for what turned out to be a 2 and a half hour meeting. Once on campus, they met with Mark Richt, safeties coach Ephraim Banda, two academic advisors, and a career advisor.

As has been widely reported, Jobe will play at the prep school Cheshire Academy in Connecticut next season since he will be over he age limit to play at the high school level in Florida. Miami's number one focus today was ensuring Jobe that they have set forth the academic plan for him to finalize his proper credits over the next year.

Richt was in the meeting for about 30 minutes while Banda, who has been instrumental in the recruitment, sealed the deal. This is another massive win for the Canes on the recruiting trail.

Jobe told CanesInSight that he is all in with his commitment.

CoCane

CB is a concern.

Delaney and Young are the only ones that we know can ball.

Mike Jackson has done nothing.

Dean and Bandy have to be the real deal...

Ohio_Cane

If the coaches were concerned about CB, they wouldn't have switched Redwine to S when they know Amari Carter is the real deal, and obviously JJ is, too.

Mountain Cane

I don't agree about the Redwine move. Diaz is a stickler that his safeties being great tacklers because he brings a lot of pressure and the safeties will be the last guy frequently. Don't think he was willing to bet on Amari Carter (who I think will be great)before seeing him in game action.

Also we had 3 safeties on the field frequently last year.

Dude

Its going to be a minute before we are done biting our nails over 2ndary depth.

CaneRock

Defense I think is fine, it's the O-Line, & maybe depth at RB that's a concern.

Ohio_Cane

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior Sheldrick Redwine has taken a seemingly smooth transition from cornerback to safety this spring and is likely to be a starter this fall.

“Right now I feel like he’s one of our 11 best football players,” defensive coordinator Manny Diaz said. “I think he plays, even on Saturday (in the scrimmage) and on Tuesday in our last practice with shoulder pads on, he is enjoying the physical side of the football game. He’s enjoying it.

“I think he has the most what we call a bite--any time you make a man go backwards against his will—and I think he leads the safeties in bites. You would say, ‘Well can he handle the physical position going from playing on the edge of the field to the middle of the park and he seems to enjoy that the most. I’m happy for what he has done, but we don’t play this weekend and we don’t play until September and we’ll figure it out between now and then who starts.”

Redwine has been ahead of sophomore Robert Knowles and freshman Amari Carter during the spring and has taken the adjustment in stride and understands he is expected to be a physical presence at 6-foot-1 and close to 200 pounds.

“The biggest different is probably playing in more space as opposed to playing corner,” Redwine said. “You’ve got to make more open-field tackles coming downhill making more tackles.”

Redwine played in 12 games last season, starting five, and had 28 tackles and two pass breakpus with one forced fumble.

Although he fell behind then-freshman Malek Young in the cornerback depth chart ltae in the season, Redwine appeared to be on his way to competing for a starting spot in the spring alongside Young with the graduation of corners Corn Elder and Adrian Colbert.

However, Jamal Carter and Rayshawn Jenkins also graduated at the safety spot and the Hurricanes will be adding three capable corners in the summer thus leaving a crowded path for Redwine to start at corner.

“Wherever they want to put me at, that’s what I’m going to try to do and be the best at it,” Redwine said.

Diaz approached Redwine the idea in the offseason to let him know Redwine would be switching positions.

Redwine’s initial reaction: “I’m a football player. If you want me to play that, I’m going to go play it.”

Redwine says he wasn't surprised he was asked to switch positions.

"I don't think I was surprised," Redwine said. "It's football. We all have to go out there and play."

Redwine has been playing next to Jaquan Johnson at safety. The two played high school ball together at Killian and are roommates.

“He does everything right so I’m trying to imitate him and try to do everything right,” said Redwine, who played safety in high school the first four games of his senior year with Johnson sidelined.

The Hurricanes conclude spring ball on Saturday.

Let our defensive guru Manny Diaz tell U:

SinisterCane

Sigh

First off I'm not hatin

Redwine was moved to FS because he was a liability at CB but I think he's good enough to get us through the season in a 2 deep rotation until tha Tru' Head Hunters arrive. What's gonna happen when the offense spread us out and he has to play press/man coverage

“I think he has the most what we call a bite--any time you make a man go backwards against his will—and I think he leads the safeties in bites

You better hope teams don't play action game plan for Redwine

Ohio_Cane

If he's as bad as U say, Amari Carter will start over him and he won't play as often.

CaneRock

I like the Redwine move to FS, Carter's built more like a SS to me.

Go Canes!

I thought Redwine played well at times and gave up plays at time.

I never found him to be such a liability that he was hurting the team consistently.

Mallory bloodlines:

allory's dad, Mike Mallory (1981-85), and uncles, Doug Mallory (1983-87) and Curt Mallory (1988-91) all played at Michigan. Mike, a former teammate of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, was an All-Big Ten linebacker and is now the assistant special teams coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Curt was a secondary coach at Michigan from 2011-14 and is now the head coach at Indiana State. Doug is a defensive backs coach with the Atlanta Falcons.
