Go Canes!

The answer lies within.

Terrance Sullivan

Well start time in the Season Opener also the Home opener versus Bethune Coolant University is at 6pm on Saturday September 2nd. Go Canes!

SOUP

The Truth will set U free.

SOUP

On a serious note, my Dad is old and ill and fading fast. He has had a good life, lived 87 years, fought for his Country as a Marine in Korea, served as a Staff Sargent in Camp LeJune, NC, raised a family and has contributed to many peoples lives. Pray for him but offer no pity. He wouldn't want it, he's a rock solid guy.

Go Canes!

They don't make them like that anymore Soup, plain and simple.

Have one of my own and I cherish every day he's still healthy and looking over our family.

Hope he's with you much, much longer, if that's what he wishes.

SOUP

Go...his decision, God's will. Either way he's good, I'm good. Appreciate your comment.

Prayers SOUP.

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but this year has sucked. Started off losing my neighbor to diabetic shock...my Mom passed away earlier this month...my wife lost Her aunt...my Son's friend just found out He had stage 4 cancer...sucks. Hope everybody else is having a much better year.

Harry Miller

I will pray for your Dad to have peace and comfort
until God takes him into his arms. I will pray for you also to have peace knowing that he will be with his Father.

DallasTX Cane

Sorry to hear that SOUP. Sounds like your father is a fine man who has lived a fine life. Hope we all can do so well.

Also sorry to hear of your troubles CR. We have had a run like yours, not quite so tough perhaps but still... hang in there and keep looking for the positive.

SOUP

I will never be half the man my Father is. I can't even express my gratitude or respect for what he has done in his life.

I am afraid that those who come after me will not measure up as well either. We are losing the greatest generation ever.

I only hope we can carry the torch as long as we can. Then eventually, I am afraid it will just die out.

Your old man was in Korea as a Marine? There's a small chance my grandpa (RIP) knew him. My gramps was at Chosin.

Terrance Sullivan

Prayers Soup to you and your family Brotha.

Dude

^^^ And a big Semper Fi from Idaho.

Terrance Sullivan

Prayers to you as well CR.

SOUP

Dude...yeah, he never really liked to talk about it much. He said one time after some serious Scotch drinking that they came in waves, and they just had to mow them down or die. Then he just got a blank stare on his face and we changed the subject.

Prayers SOUP.

Your father deserves much respect and admiration, Soup. He sounds like the rare combination of a devoted family man, a patriot and a citizen who believed and sacrificed for causes greater than himself and never asked for anything in return. May his final fade come peacefully when God wills.

I respect everyone's opinion. I would like to make a few points.

1. I am an actual expert on what I am talking about. I lived "Outside the wire" in both Iraq and Afghanistan for years. Worked in intelligence at the highest levels. Even when someone meets a soldier or marines that was deployed those guys rarely go outside the wire and even more rarely do they interact much with the locals. I did the opposite. I can speak intelligently on things and not say things like "arabs hate americans" that is far from the truth, they are trying to come to america is the reality in many cases.

2. If we base our opinions on bad information we get from MSN or our own biases due to religion or cultures then our opinions are probably not going to be accurate with the truth.

3. Some people who practice Islam do bad things, i cant say every bombing or thing is a cia false flag, there are still bad guys who are idiots doing bad things, i dont deny that. I would like people to remember though something like 90% of these plots are connected to intelligence agencies and that is not by accident. Also consider nearly all these perps are into drinking, women and drugs, they are not religious but are said in the media to be doing these things in the name of religion, Again it does not add up.

Also in my personal experience I do feel it is common for arabs to be prejudice especially against black africans.

I would welcome to chat with anyone, I do attend games when I can.

In the meantime check out my news website

Thoughts and prayers go to Soup and CR. 87 years is a good run. It's when people get taken way to young that really makes you wonder.....god bless

NicKane

My prayers to the lord Jesus Christ for your father soup. The man sounds like a true patriot and even though he's a marine guy and I'm an army guy I see we were both stationed in North Carolina. Him in LeJune and me in ft Bragg obviously at different times. Lol I thank him for his bravery in Korea and keeping half that country free from the oppressions of communism. Those were the last of the greatest generation right there that fought in That war.

Go Canes!

Dads nor death.

Rather talk about great men than people killing people

Very sorry to hear this, friend. U and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

SOUP

Thanks to everyone out there. Your thoughts and condolences are greatly appreciated.

Terrance Sullivan

Soup and KYCane I have us booked at the LA Quinta Inn 7780 SW 6th Street Plantation, Florida 33324 for the 2017 Season. If we need to add rooms for other Canespacers just say something on the blog or shoot me a email and I can add booked room(s) to our Canespace Hotel setup. Kenny I imagine is still going to be staying at the Hampton Inn next door. So we will still keep the Hampton Inn/La Quinta Inn SW 6th Street as our Canespace South Florida Headquarters. The Canespace Corporate Headquarters are in Central Florida.Go Canes Beat Wake Forest!

Sorry to hear about your dad SOUP. Prayers for him.

AfriCane

soup, prayers for your dad. mine passed away last year at 76. I will never get over it.
I guess these are the days you spend more time with him.

AfriCane

hassan, a 100 likes for your last post. your knowledge of the topic shows. the arab situation is more complex than is reported and it goes back in history. Christian-muslim conflict goes far back, from the days of the Templar vs Assassin's creed, the crusades and other historical accounts. and contrary to what westerners think of arabs as barbaric, history as proven that arab nations and leaders have been as progressive as westerners at certain points in history.
and also, arabs have been a worse offender in the area of race against Africans/blacks than westerners have been. that's why it upsets me when some African Americans sees it as the 'black religion' or when Africans kiss up to mecca. islam and Christianity are from the same area and are from the same people. neither were from the west. I just don't care much for the hypocrisy of arabs. they are not good to my kind. and they can go to hell.

Soup-Prayers for your dad-those guys are my hero's. My co-worker has been taking care of her dad who is a WW2 Vet-92 years old. He fought in Europe. They just put him in hospice its very sad.
She is a retired Secret Service agent and was on the VP detail for Gore. She has great Clinton white house stories

Hassan-Great post
I spent a week in Dubai in March and never felt unsafe. What I saw was normal live. Were in the Dubai Mall and I see and hear Muslim families around me having the same conversations as families anywhere else in the world. Pre teens moaning to the mothers they want new cloths etc.. We went to Paris after and it was a totally different vibe-have to watch your ass in some places there

HawaiiCane

Canes score two in the Top of the 8th! Leading #12 Wake Forest 3-2!

Really, I want to know what happened to this being a 'Canes blog! Seriously, we have fallen into the political trap/chat on this blog far too often. What happened to taking that elsewhere?

HawaiiCane

CANES WIN!!! CANES WIN!!!

HawaiiCane

On to the semis to face either UNC or NCST!!! Once you're in the postseason anything can happen!!!

Mountain Cane

We sure made the bottom of the 9th intersting. Don't remember ever seeing a game end on runner hit by batted ball. Limp off hit by batted ball.

Terrance Sullivan

Boom Boom Baby! Canes Win Daddy! The Streak for #45 is alive!

thirstybuzzardcane

I tell u what, the Canes are peaking at the right time!

jcane

Wish I had time to follow the game this afternoon. Nevertheless, great to see another clutch win, a sure thing for advancing to a regional and a team finally not only starting to win but to believe it is never out of a game.

More importantly, thoughts are with you and yours, Soup.
