There should be a bunch more. From 2006 to 2016 only 6 named to the HOF? Seriously?

Great discussion y'all. Like I said, it doesn't have to be only sports. Some well informed and brilliant minds on here. And it's good to hear your points of views.

My heart is with Juve (Sami Khedira joined VfB when he was 8 and left for Real at 23), but I think Ronaldo & Co. are hard to stop, even for a defense as strong as Juve's.

Sean Taylor R.I.P. will be eligible after this year Soup so he is a shoe in for the CFB HOF

VfB_Cane

Posted by: Hassan | June 03, 2017 at 07:01 AM

I'm not so sure about Sean Taylor's chances.

1) CFB HOF ia anti-UM
Herald: Despite winning five national championships, producing 63 first round draft picks and sending 56 players to the Pro Bowl, there are only six players and three coaches from UM who have entered the College Hall of Fame. There are at least 26 other college programs with more representation than UM at the College Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

2) Ray Lewis is still waiting
Lewis: 1-time All-American, finalist for Butkus award, 6th on UM career list for tackles.
Taylor: 1-time All-American, finalist for Thorpe award, 5th on UM career list for interceptions.

If the voters didn't like Lewis (five times on the ballot), why would they take Taylor the first time he's eligible?

Terrance Sullivan

Thanks Soup.Can't wait Brotha.

What's good Legion/Canespace and sometimes Threat Space. I hope this discussion about the college football hall of fame is not down playing the fact that the college baseball regionals are now taking place and for the first time in 44 years U of Miami baseball is not involved. What a travesty! Enjoy your weekend.

The reason I no longer discuss politics:

Our society is 1% wolf, 99% sheep. 10% of the sheep are black sheep. The black sheep know the wolves are coming to feast but they don't fight. They just cry and complain. They wouldn't bust a grape if they brewing wine. So just shut up and keep picking your poison like you've been doing...

thirstybuzzardcane

I respectfully disagree with the last comment. Why do you always think everyone is always out to get the black sheep?

Dude

In my opinion the college HoF matters much, much less than The U HoF... much less.

Dude

I think Sami might get a goal today. 3-0 Juve! Heart of course, games/days like this as a fan you never let your head decide anything! You just get drunk and bathe in emotion. Perfect day would be Dybala, Higuain and Marchisio all getting goals, with Sami, Pjanic and Dani Alves getting assists.

Dude

I dont care if you are a HoF in some outsider's opinion. Sean Taylor was the best enforcer safety to put it on for The U and would start opposite Reed on an all time U team. Thats good enough for me. Ray would start at MLB on our all time team, again good enough for me. The rest of the country can F itself as far as Im concerned, because I'd take our elites against anyone, any day, any where... hell with our all timers, we wouldnt just win, we'd beat any one by 21. We shouldnt rate ourselves by any standard but our own. U HoF > NCAA HoF.

U know the NCAA HOF is going to make U sweat at least 20 years before they consider U.

You are entitled to your opinion. However, you are hardly neutral. You are a DNC/ Huffington Post shill. You want to maintain an appearance of neutrality, that's only to mislead others.

Although I read regularly, I don't post here at all. This is my second post for the year.

You hide in the shadows, finally work up the gumption to say something, and ^^ is the best you could come up with? You are conflating education for partisanship. Just curious... why would pointing out something that was done right make me a liberal? Is it because non liberals aren't supposed to ever agree with the dirty libs? That seems sane to you? To me that smells of ignorance.

But back to the point at hand... your post is a tacit statement of some degree of knowledge. So rather than call names, how's about you tell me why I'm wrong. With facts.

Oh... and post more often you jerk.

I try not to be a TOTAL homer most of the time, but I actually agree 100% with this statement. I wonder if any UM fan or any fan anywhere even disputes this as a fact?

I think the collection of all-time FSU greats and maybe Alabama greats could play us but we would still win by 17-21 points.

Would any other team of all-time greats even even be close?

Athalon Sports Preseason All-ACC
First team - RB Mark Walton, WR Ammon Richards, TE Christopher Herndon, K Michael Bagley, KR Braxton Berrios

Second team- LB Shaquille Quarterman

It has been a while since so many Canes were thought highly of before the season began. I predict more players from the Canes top 5-10 defense will make the post season All-ACC team at the end of the season. This defense can be scary good. It has the potential to be better than last year, and maybe the best defense since Wilfork and Vilma were in Coral Gables

Well said go canes. ^^^^^^^ PC is what these scumbags want because it allows them to carry out there evil unapposed. Fact! It's time to wake up and root them all out and either deport them back to there desert shit hole for good, throw them in prison forever or execute them right then and there. Western leaders start doing that and you'll see an immediate cease in attackes because all these people respect is strength and strength is the only way will have peace. Because we are now seeing the effects of the last 8 years of weakness, PC and open borders.

1mg Of epi

you think so nick? You think 8 years of PC is the cause of Muslim terror? I'd like to hear more about that

NicKane

Yea I think so 1mg! Because that's reality! Because if it wasn't for PC a lot of these murderes would have already been arrested and deported or doing prison time. But by all means if you have a better idea of the cause of the worst 2 years of terrorist attacks around the western world, then I'm all ears!

Terrorismis unfortunately, is in its infancy.

There are darker days ahead and with what's happening in Syria, I shudder at the thought of a radicalized person being given some sort of wmd.

HillViewCane

So my mother was living in London when the IRA was bombing. I remember a bomb that went off blocks from her flat. How different is that from this? Then it was Catholics bombing Protestants. Should England have had a Catholic ban? Should all Catholics have been rounded up and place in internment camps? My mother was actually Catholic come to think of it. Once again we need not become the monsters we are trying to stop. If you understand the history of that city you can see how this is nothing new. It's unfortunate but also where the idea of staying calm comes from.

HillViewCane

My mom lived in London during the IRA bombings in then 90's. There is nothing new under the sun.

Maybe I am too young to remember and older heads can chime in but were there cries for the Pope, bishops, priest, or all Catholics to be held responsible and stop the bombings?

SOUP

It is not that convoluted or complicated or difficult to understand the problem that confronts us. Here it is IMHO:

1. Are ALL Gators and Gator fans to be hated? YES!

2. Are ALL Seminoles and Seminole fans to be hated? YES!

3. Are ALL Buckeyes and Buckeye fans to be hated? YES!

4. Some Catholics and Protestants were engaged in a holy war back in the day. Some were killed, and the war ended. That was wrong. But it was not Global, it was concentrated in two Countries. If you did not live in England and Ireland then you had no fear. It was localized and specific. Should ALL Catholics and Protestants be hated? NO!

5. Some Muslims, only very few, are radical Islamic terrorists. That war is going on right now and people are dying all across the globe. It is not isolated, it is a global Jihad in Europe, in Africa, in the Middle East, in the U.S. and in Asia. That is wrong. Should ALL Muslims be hated? NO!

6. However the current radical Islamic terrorists that are killing innocent men, women and children all across the planet now MUST be stopped. And those that support and accept or condone their behavior must also change their attitudes towards those who who would kill innocent people or those who hold different beliefs.

7. Surely everyone agrees with these six or seven statements?

thirstybuzzardcane

^^^^^ Absolutely!!!! Well said, but I'm sure you'll have a few takers who don't agree......😂

4 crazy people went crazy with knives and hammers, killed 7.

1 crazy person went crazy with a gun, killed 5.

Easy access to guns to unqualified, mentally ill, crazy people.

Lets start by having some sensible gun control. Lets stop allowing the sale of guns to anyone without a nationally accepted background check at these "gun shows" would be a good start.

Gerry Adams is a far cry from bin laden, and Sinn Feinn also had rational political goals, and shied away from killing civilians. Incidents like the 1987 Enniskillen attack, which killed 10, whiddled away at popular support for the PIRA.

thirstybuzzardcane

^^^^ We didn't want him anyway!

30CINCO

Ariz:

Randy Russell decommits -- more info
Three-star Carol City prospect Randy Russell has decommitted from Miami.

Miami got the sense early this week that Russell was set to decommit after visiting UF last weekend. Russell was communicating to the UM staff during the weekend that he was 'solid' in his commitment, but that tune changed when he returned. He was a player that the Miami defensive staff loved as a box safety and thumper, but a source said that they will not re-recruit and fight to keep him. Russell is expected to land at Florida.

So where does Miami go from here at DB in 2018? Well for one, they are completely content with keeping Josh Jobe and Gurvan Hall as the two safeties in the class. I'm hearing that an offer is set to come Nigel Bethel, Jr.'s way very soon at the cornerback position. He is a prospect that UM desperately wants in the class and Russell's decision now gives them the flexibility to do just that. Again, Miami did not drop Russell at all. Miami is recruiting both Tyson Campbell and Al Blades, Jr. at cornerback as well, with D.J. Ivey already in the fold. Canes commit Gilbert Frierson also has the skill set to play safety if the coaches want.
