VA Cane

Hello friends....humid humid humid here!

I am doing well, busy appraising houses and seeing my grand daughter. She is spoiled and not just by her Mom and Dad!!!
This has been a hard summer/fall for old VAC...37 years I coached and here i am sitting my ass at home instead of being at practice. Thought i could do it...impossible!! I have been out to tems practice, and taught some OL and D, but very limited. I want my long time guy to be know as The Man, not the guy who is filling in. He is a great man, and we talk every day. I am a consultant, but he is going to do well!!! I want him to be a champion; he will be! We are close; glad that a black man and a white man can really be family!!!

dont know if you all know where Charlottesville VA is....guess people do now. That was ugly....people can protest and counter protest, but fighting hurting hating and killing is wrong.
I live near Richmond and there is talk of taking the mounuments of Confeds down or move them. right wrong or indifferent, it can be solved without hate and death. Very sad how our society behaves on the fringes!

My best to you all,
VAC

Terrance Sullivan

Well said VA look forward to seeing you for the ND Game.

BigWindyCane1

Rosier's stats looked impressive, but it's hard to determine what that means relative to the others. I read that the first team went against the second team, and that there were a lot of situational plays being run. Sherriffs also had some good stats, and I read that the defense outperformed the offense. Without seeing the action, it's hard to determine what all this means.

CIS:

After watching Richt's presser don't be surprised if Richt goes with Perry sooner rather than later regardless of the stats yesterday. He made a comment about he predicts the younger guys (Perry and Weldon) to be much more improved the next scrimmage. After saying that he went on further to say that the older guys (Rosier and Shirreffs) have been here for a while and he doesn't know if they'd improve much beyond yesterday's scrimmage. The comment seems to say that he's still not that impressed with the upperclassmen and he kind of knows what they bring to the table. I believe that he's still leaning towards the potential of Perry and/or his ceiling over the upperclassmen performances yesterday. Richt knows that Perry will take his lumps this season but he will grow leaps and bounds by the end of it.

Rosier had two more completions over Perry. Yeah the TD were glaring but the TDs will come for Perry, I just hope he learn what he did wrong on the INT

The 2nd scrimmage results will be crucial for Perry to see if he's ready for primetime at the beginning of the season or the middle but make no mistake about it Perry is the future starter at da U. I predict that Perry will be playing a lot of football this year.

That was over 50 years ago. Its TOTALLY different now days! For example during the 1920's there were 5 million Klan members, now there is between 3,000-5000 total in the whole US. My point is why show it on the news, your only going to expand the base more. If you hear nothing about it they will eventually die! Trust me, I see your point. Well that goes from a toss up in the Michigan vs Florida Game in Arlington Texas to clear advantage for Michigan. Man that's crazy TBC. I imagine those players are on thin ice now.

Terrance Sullivan

It's disheartening hearing that 3(Milo, Jones, the other one is escaping me right now) of our offensive linemen are considered dead weight they need to step it up to help provide quality depth, combine that with Linder leaving that hurts. Hoping Homer takes it to next level at RB and Walton stay healthy because we are razor thin at RB. The QB situation is fine may the best man win.

CaneRock

I doubt that Radical Christian Terrorist who drove His car into that crowd could give a damn if it was on TV or not.

Porter: Malik Rosier (12) throws during Monday's practice, as Evan Shirreffs (16) and N'Kosi Perry (5)

UMike

Idk about y'all, but our QB situation is starting to worry me. I think we have a great back field, but they can't carry us imo. Our D Should keep us in most games, but we have to be able to score. If Perry isn't the guy we hoped he would be, we are in trouble.

CaneRock

Just because Perry isn't the guy from jump doesn't mean He sucks. Rosier & Shirreff's have the playbook down, we're not winning 9-10 games or better with a true freshman running a watered down playbook...ala Kaaya in 2014.

CaneRock

And remember Luck & Winston weren't the guys from jump either, but Stanford & FSU did fine.

TonyCane

UMike, that's why I see a scenario where we lose 4 or 5 games. Our overall team will be significantly better, but mediocre QB performances or rookie inexperience costs is.

Raize, I would even be upset at a 4 loss season considering our QB situation, RB debt, losing an outstanding TE and all our corners, very thin at center etc. So we got legit reasons if that happens

I would be upset considering this year's schedule is easier than last year's.

UMike

Go Canes...I wasn't trying to take away from our finish and great bowl win, was just responding to raise comment that we wouldn't lose 4 games even if he was qb lol... We finished great, but with good RB depth, a 3-year starter at qb, 1st round TE, senior corners etc...I think it would be understandable if the expectations were a little lower this season. If those guys don't leave early I would be talking maybe 1-2 losses tops

SOUP

1. Idk about y'all, but our QB situation is starting to worry me.

2. If Perry isn't the guy we hoped he would be, we are in trouble.

Posted by: UMike | August 14, 2017 at 10:54 AM

1. I am scared as hell. I don't think we have one single college quality QB at this time. We may have to go GT on them and go T-bone or triple option or just play defense all day? If the ball goes in the air it is sure to be an INT. I am worried!

2. We are clearly in serious trouble. If Perry did not win out the QB situation by now we should just cancel the season. According to you everybody else is "garbage" so we will suck badly, right? No chance we win more than 5 games. And there is NO fun in that?

UMike

SOUP you are finally catching on :)

TonyCane

I've got a wait and see Attitude. We have a good enough team where we can have a caretaker and still win.

Sherrif will be the starter and Perry will get lots of garbage time.
