(This blog = savage. That is all.)

MLAlumni1970

How many top ten teams lost?
And, with those losses, where does that leave Miami? We played so badly and yet we are undefeated. Penn State and Ohio State gave the nation a great football game on both sides, which we haven't, and yet one of them lost. The losing team played better than we did.
So, where do we stand in the new polls??
Just asking?

LOL! This post is hilarious!🤣

VT wins 24-3, at home tonight against Duke; Canes beat Duke 31-6 on the road a few weeks ago. Hmmm....maybe the Canes have a chance to beat VT at the Rock next Saturday. We will see.

Saw in CIS Rosier was wearing a sling when he got on the bus.

If we ever get a NFL type QB we might have something. Rosier is Kaaya Part Duex. Average at best. Can I get some help ova heya?

How about Stacy Searels? Good hire, right?

nemo2002

I went to a professional clairvoyant this afternoon. I paid her $25 and I asked her to tell me what will happen in Hard Rock Stadium next Saturday. She turned over a few tarot cards and then the she said, "I see a rout". Naturally, I responded by asking her, "but who will win the game?" She looked at me sternly and then she replied, "that will cost you another twenty dollars". Reluctantly, I paid her the money and eagerly asked her again, "who will win the game?" She turned over another tarot card, paused for a moment, and then the seer said, "The best team will win!"

His Royal Dudeness

For real though, our D does have the ability to shut VT completely down. The O needs to give us at least 24 to do it... 31 would be better. Chalk it up to our worst performance of the year and doing what it takes to win the Coastal. Its at home so we need Canes fans to show up and get LOUD!!! Effect the outcome of the game. Any word on where Gameday will be?

SinisterCane

I hope Nosier doesn't come back next season

His Royal Dudeness

Werent you screaming for Nosier last year when Kaaya was starting? And praising Nosier a few weeks ago? At least youre consistent my man! 😃

1mg of Epi

Don't see the o breaking 30. Heck I'm not sure if I see em breaking 20. That defense is good, and when we throw the ball 90% of the downs, they're gonna pin their ears back and kill Rosier.

1mg of Epi

And I mean that literally. Rosier may not make it out.

SinisterCane

Posted by: His Royal Dudeness | October 28, 2017 at 11:19 PM

So fuqin' what I have the right to change my mind and based on todays performance by Nosier it's rightfully justified. Every 1st half of games this season looks like the the 1st day spring practice.

His Royal Dudeness

I wont be surprised at all if Miami comes out solid at home and wins. Its gonna be a close game, our D wont let it be anything other than that. Homer spills a run for a TD, Richards grabs a long TD, Herndon grabs another & Thomas returns a kick, add a FG and we alright. Rosier is gonna be good enough at home & VT really isnt all that.

His Royal Dudeness

Posted by: SinisterCane | October 28, 2017 at 11:35 PM

Lol, you wear your heart on your sleeve brother, and that alright, but thats not how successful teams make important decisions. Rosier is coming home. He knows he played like shit. Lets make it hell on VT defensively and see if we can do just enough to win the Coastal. We know Rosier is limited, but clearly Perry aint ready and even more so, Sherrifs isnt either. Lets hope he hits that hot streak, he's led us 1 game away from what is essentially the Coastal title, we ride or die with him now. 🙌

BigWindyCane1

Per SUSAN Miller Degnan of Miami Herald:
“I can't believe this (well, I can I guess). UM is one of only four Power 5 unbeatens left: Alabama, Ga, Wisconsin are the others.”

His Royal Dudeness

The team's goal to start the season was to win the Coastal and Saturday is the biggest game they will face. I have faith that they will play with intesity. Remember that feeling after finally knocking off FSU? Its gonna feel twice as good to beat VT. Richt has got to find a way to run the ball and call a better game. Thats the key to the whole damned thing.

WWIN

Never said Rosier was great... I just said I'd rather have him than Kaaya. You wasn't saying this when he beat fsu!

His Royal Dudeness

Kaaya vs Rosier...

They both have their strengths, Kaaya was a better front runner, more steady. Rosier much better under pressure, not just with the game on the line but with dudes in his face.

Next week we need 2 guest speakers. Juaquin gives the pregame speech and Ed gives the half time speech.

CoCane

We'll Willie. You were wrong.

I had to have a better sample size of Rosier to judge him. FSU, GT, Cuse and UNC all suck *ss. Kaaya wouldn't have missed so many open throws. None of those games would have been close.

You think Kaaya would've been 4-17 in the 1st half against FSU??? 19-44 for the game? 16-38 against this UNC team??? Stop it Willie. Ain't no dope that good boy.

I know Rosier made big plays at the end of games. But...

HIS INACCURACY IS ONE THE MAIN REASONS WE NEEDED MIRACLE HEROICS.

56% Completion and dropping.

Kaaya never completed less then 45% TWICE in a season. Let alone against garbage.

Give me 65% plus passing accuracy over 3 yards per carry any saturday.

CoCane

Oh and Kaaya never had the luxury of facing a FSU team this bad. They won't even make a bowl game. Stop it I say!

CoCane

I pass on that cup of Rosier flavored kool aid you're sipping on...

HillViewCane

The main reason we start so slow is the defenses we face are fresh and Richt is predictable. More times that not opponents defenses know what's coming and can key in leaving Rosier in repeated 3rd and long situations. Add to that drops etc and the slow starts are pretty understandable as well as the better second halves as defenses get more fatigued. As bad as Rosier has been in some eyes he hasn't really turned the ball over. I really like Richt as a head coach. I think he is a good leader I just don't like him as an OC. Last year I felt 3 of our 4 losses were play-calling driven on offense more than anything else. Richt says we are not a dominant team that can dominate other teams by will. Well then stop play-calling like we are

Go Canes!

CoCane is 100 correct in everything he’s typing above.

He’s made some big throws but Rosier’s inaccuracy was a big, big reason the offense struggled mightily yesterday. Even his completions required adjustments by the receiver most of the time.

But it is what it is and I ride or die with Malik this year til the end.

1mg of Epi

Thankfully we decided to give up the running game while Malik was struggling.

That was really inexplicable.

Unless Homer was nicked and we dont know about it, he should have been used a lot more. Btw, how freaking good did Dallas look on that catch and run.

CoCane

Hey Willie Will. You know it's all good bro.

Rosier is doing good. Better then I expected him to.

I just had to mess with you. You been dogging Kaaya's name in favor of Malik. Who did Kaaya beat? A top 15 WV in a bowl game. Pitt after they just upset Clemson, with Watson.

Who has Rosier beat??? The worst FSU team in 3 decades. We needed a miracle. BC slaughtered them. Rosier ain't did nothing to brag about yet dawg.

Yea deejay looked pretty damn good. I think Richt needs to figure out ways to get his playmakers in space somehow, not 25 yards downfield

Question: how often are we seeing the P in rpo?

HillViewCane

Kaaya and Malik are both good definitely above avg. The OC? I could be wrong. Correct me if I am, but the way I remember it Richt had similar play calling issues at Georgia. Funny thing is he maybe better in that dept then he was last year.

Me too. And he's our guy, til the end of the year.

But if Kaaya were still here and put up the exact same numbers Malik has this year, I guarantee WW would be on here CRUCIFYING him week in and out, saying Langham did all the work and Kaaya was worst QB we've ever had.

But it is what it is and it doesnt matter anyway.

Our season will be made or broken in six days at HR. Watched the whole VT game last night, they aren't any better than us, we will and should be favored and if we take care of our business we will win that game.

Yeah Go.

UMike

After seeing Rosier up close and down close to field level... He can't see!! No way he can see over the line. I think this is why his ball floats a lot. The difference (in height) when sherriffs came in was striking. Also, maybe it was just me, but some of our guys like Herndon, Langham etc are slow with their routes, they come off the line very slow.

Also, that Thomas lass was there all day long. He had one on one more times then I could count.

UMike

Also, while we obviously have some issues and have yet to play a good complete game on O...I would much rather stumble to 7-0 with perhaps our best ball ahead of us then have the seasons FSU, Florida or Tenn are having

BEERicane

The FSU bowl streak is in serious jeopardy.

SinisterCane

I think Richt is a good program builder, very good CEO - his offensive game day coaching to me though is very, well....a work in progress

Go Canes!

Saw this on twitter, can't disgree with this:

What I think the CFP Committee will do:

1) Alabama
2) Georgia
3) Notre Dame
4) Clemson
5) Oklahoma
6) Ohio State

That being said I think we are only one of five teams, along with Bama, UGA, Clemson and ND that are guaranteed in if we win out.

Herbieibis

After watching the game in person yesterday, The Herb has come to the conclusion that we have to be the worst rushing team in America. It's painful to watch. The right side of the defense on the edge keeps getting gashed. Tackling was terrible. Rosier did about as good as he could do. We keep staying in third and long against Va. Tech and Rosier won't last long. We have plenty of weapons at WR. but getting them the ball on a consistent basis is the problem. It's hard for me to see us beating Tech and it's not like their world beaters but unless we find the secret to running the ball that has eluded us this might be ugly.

UMike

Herb, I agree... At one point we went 5 wide and I looked and saw Thomas, Berrios, Richards, Homer and I believe Her don't...I thought to myself how in the hell do we have that much talent and can't get a few yards.

UMike

Herndon***

CGNC

LOL on the blog article.

Herbieibis

I'd be amiss if I didn't mention our youthful punter, who also sucked. Why is it that every time he punts, it looks like he's trying to pooch kick it. It doesn't bode well for us, when a 3RD string QB, eats us up. We can thank Fedora for this when, by not kicking FG's in the first half but I guess he didn't have much faith in his team and kept going for TD'S. Hell, they should of had 12 pts at halftime.
I get that we aren't where we need to be as far as some depth at certain positions go but there is no reason to play paint drying offense.

Tonycane

Syracuse will beat FSU. So will Clemson.

Bowl streak deleted.

Honestly I didn’t think the offense was vanilla enough.

They were ranked #100 in the ncaa against the run and all we did was line up 5 wide and chuck it with a QB having the worst accuracy issues of his short career.

Found the play calling mystifying at times.

Never had a rhythm, never established the run against a team that allegedly couldn’t stop it.

GREAT POST!

We are not a dominant team in the traditional sense.

What we have is a unique blend of talent that is top 10 overall, but not top 5 due to depth issues.

You CANNOT honestly name 10 teams with more dangerous offensive skill players than us.

We have to live and die by getting the ball quickly to speed players in space because we cant run against good teams.

We CANNOT rely on Malik throwing downfield for four quarters.

We CANNOT run consistently against aggressive fronts.

Get the ball to Homer, Herndon, Berrios, Thomas etc. consistently within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage. Richards and Langham's deep threat ability will keep these plays open throughout the game.

Drops and penalties will stall some drives but we will be more consistent over time.

The rac has been our bread and butter. We need to commit to short QUICK passing as an IDENTITY.

There are endless ways to get our playmakers the ball quickly that dont demand so much of Malik decision and accuracy wise and we have the HORSES to make them work.

The reality is we have a coaching staff caught in the execution trap, floundering with concepts that though effective, are not right for THIS TEAM AT THIS TIME.

We also have players still shaking off loser residue and depth issues.

It aint pretty, but everyone is fighting.

We just need sharper coaching (which has been very good compared to years past) to lead the players to momentum and more importantly, consistency..

I’m a canes fan 100% and nobody can say different.. but we are in DEEP shit Saturday. Unc down 17 guys and playing the third string qb vs us???? And this is what we do??? It's DEFINITELY ALL GOOD homie!

You gotta understand that I'm not saying Malik is great and I never had... just said he's better than Kaaya! Which he's already proven! Kaaya beat ONE ranked team his WHOLE CAREER here... Malik did it his FIRST GAME! Kaaya had ZERO GW drives... Malik had TWO vs FSU! Did Kaaya ever win 8 games in a row? Kaaya had a WHOLE MONTH to prepare for WVU and couldn't get a 1st down till the halfway point of the 2nd qtr! You said Kaaya beat Pitt after they beat Clemson? I could have just swore Malik beat Cuse after the beat Clemson maybe a few weeks ago but I could be wrong! FSU was picked to be in the playoffs and championship game this year and you know they always play us hard no matter what! How many pro players did Kaaya have at his disposal? Malik has already deaded this debate... IT'S OVER SOLDIER! If he NEVER wins another game he's already accomplished more than Kaaya! #FACTS

If you want us to try another QB? Cool... I have no problems with that. Has he been great this year? NO! He's had his ups and downs. Yesterday I believe he was hurt tho.

For me the problems flow like this...
1. Offensive Coordinator
2. O-line
3. QB
4. RB/WR

One of the main things I remember most from football practice was that it could be difficult to run plays even against an overmatched scout team if they KNEW WHAT WAS COMING.

Our offensive problems are due to his lack of an intuitive feel for match ups, situations, and momentum as a playcaller.

He is calling games by the book, so to speak.

Its the age old adage from page 1 of the underachieving coaches handbook:

ANY PLAY WILL WORK IF THE PLAYERS EXECUTE.

This is true but the championship coaches use the nuances of their teams UNIQUE skill sets to string togehther high percentage, successful plays that create momentum, build confidence, and control games.

The sad thing is, he does it in spurts then abandons what works for HIS system. Its maddening because he is a great coach and leader of young men.

If he finds his rhythm, the execution errors for a growing, but committed team will be less frequent and less detrimental.

WWIN

I believe he was forced to give up play calling a while back.

20 pts will win the game Saturday. Malik throws a nice long ball but the shorter routes are what cause him problems but make no mistake, when u are predictable on offense, the defense is coming and our O-Line ain't great, servicable is what I would call them. It's hard for me to see us scoring 10 pts. and that's the shame of it, tech ain't that good but this antiquated play calling is killing us.
Homer's longest run yesterday was maybe 11yds, that's pitiful that u can't break off a couple 15 to 20 yarders a game especially against UNC.
