1st!

86Cane

Pansie or promise?

Please tell?

Sarasota 'cane

I'm belly laughing! The day after we shake an 8 year curse against FSU and this is the blog? LOL!!!

Go 'canes!!

86Cane

Sarasota...as far as I am concerned if nobody EVER posts here EVER again I will be happy. I will be relieved of my biggest burdens ever in my life. I hope and pray for the downfall of Canespace everyday but it will not go away.

Sarasota 'cane

LOL!!! I'm an Army Veteran and former "blackout Irish drunk"! I did two tours overseas in Korea at the same time you were at UM. I've forgotten more crazy shyt than you'll ever know!! Sleep it off my friend!!

Sarasota 'cane

You do a great job with the blog by the way. Been here since day 1 and I'll stay until the doors are closed.

So, I get it. Your an NFL o line coach, snorting some blow seems like the right thing. Long hours. Get it.

But why r u recording yourself and allowing it to get leaked.

Because the Miami Dolphins. That's why.

86Cane

Sarasota..I will concede to you my friend. One day when I grow up I will try to be like you. Until then I have to deal with the reality given to me. Thanks for the advice and guidance.

LOL! Just hang it up for a while. You can delete my response to your other post that you deleted if you wish. We should be celebrating today and getting ready for GT.

That video explains a lot I believe about what ails that team. No wonder Jay isn't hitting 100+ yards a game. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why dude went AWOL in L.A. a few weeks ago. Cocaine comes at you fast!!

LOL!!

Terrance Sullivan

Okay! This is a lol moment! Brad never beat FSU fact! Brad never led Miami to ACC Coastal much less ACC Championship, much less a National Championship, so he definitely fell short. This isn't a newsflash to anyone. Beyond Happy for Malik and this team has said it countless times for beating FSU and ending the streak. Now let's Go Canes! Wreck Tech!

Terrance Sullivan

Epi Say what now I woke up and I see this lol about the Miami Dolphins OL Coach this can't be real life lol.

Terrance Sullivan

His Royal Dudeness lol.

Terrance Sullivan

Sarasota right lol.

Go Canes!

Looking forward to seeing who snatches Homer's spot now that he's firmly in the #1 spot now.

I guess if Burns isn't in the mix it will have to be because he's either not healthy or the coaches don't believe in him.

There's way too much meaningful football left to play and two studs coming in from high school for them to be saving him right?

raizecane

Good Morning ladies and gents.......What a great feeling it is to come to work today and track down all the FSU fans and just give them a smile....

Yes Sir Raize!

It's not necessarily apples to apples with Kayaa vs Rozier. Kayaa had a much worse offensive line, and overall probably a lesser supporting offensive cast when he played FSU those three times. He also should have been successful in taking his team to OT last year. Unfortunately we'll never know what Kayaa could have done with this coach, with this cast, this year as he decided to go pro.

It's entirely possible that Kayaa was more talented, but that Rozier is the better ingame player.

raizecane

Can we stop comparing Kaaya to Rozier?? Nobody and I mean nobody can predict how this game would have played out if Kaaya had stayed.......WE won....that's all that matters....moved forward. Celebrate people....its been 7 years

Can I get an amen!!!!

Go Canes!

Imo it will be very disappointing if a healthy Burns doesn't emerge from this as the clear cut #2 running back:

Richt said wideout DeeJay Dallas will get reps behind Travis Homer, Trayone Gray and Robert Burns. Homer’s special teams work will be reduced from four units to two.

Terrance Sullivan

Thank you Raize.

Walton's surgery is right ankle. The initial injury was to the left.. so this a new injury.

1mg of Epi

Tony,

I disagree. Brads o line 2 of his 3 years was about all NFL bound. His overall talent level was pretty damn impressive as well, w 2014 team having second most draft picks in the nation.

Really what killed brad was that embarrassing defensive scheme.

UMike

Did I miss something? How long is Walton out for? When I said Homer should bet more reps I didnt mean like this lol

We are CELEBRATING the win but you know like everybody else that when we win it's NOT a lot to talk about vs when we lose... so people still need something to talk about. NEGATIVITY sells... POSITIVITY not as much... just how it goes. We're all happy we won and still celebrating... just having discussions on a fan blog.

Posted by: Go Canes! | October 09, 2017 at 05:43 AM

CMR only played 2 RB's mostly last year and Burns is FOURTH on the depth chart. You save him if you didn't need him... has he been needed up to this point? Just because we have 2 RB's committed does NOT mean they'll sign with us and be here... sure there's a pretty good chance they'll end up here but with high school kid's you never know. After all... I recall having a RB hooked, lined, and sinked at this point in time last year.

I see this situation playing out like Rosier... fans are hating on Choc and Burns based on ONLY what they've HEARD and not SEEN!

30CINCO

Walton making tackles on special teams, while on a bum leg. Gonna miss that dude.

BEERicane

Richt on Walton: "He'll be back 100%". Hmmmm....

UMike

Damn..I guess I've been busy lol.. well we got a stud in Homer imo and won't see a better D then FSU

SinisterCane

Did the Oline give up a sack?????

Terrance Sullivan

Yes the OL gave up 3 sacks Saturday and 8 sacks so far this year.

Sinistercane1

Weird I didn’t even notice it, well at least we’re in pass protection

UMike

Is it fair to say we have already saw the best, or most talented D we will see all year, unless we get Clemson? I think Homer is more than capable against the rest of our schedule.

His Royal Dudeness

I think its too early to call Homer a stud, however he's no chump either. Walton was a stud and it sucks to lose him. Stepping up is a must for everyone now on the offense. That said, we were able to drive twice on FSU's defense without him, so we should be able to go undefeated into the VT game. IMO we can afford to lose only 1 game now and achieve our goals, it can only be 1 of the VT or ND games. Right now, with the win over FSU we are exceeding our expectations, even if FSU was wounded at the time.

Terrence, you and I seem to be on the same page with our expectations of a 2nd year program... I say the remaining goals should be a) win the Coastal and b) win 10 regular season games. Post season goal is to wrap up a top 5 recruiting class. I always want to cap off a season with a bowl win, but if we achieve our goals we will probably face stiff competition in our bowl and who knows what can happen then. So here's my question, if the Hurricanes take care of business, win the Coastal, finish with 10 season wins, finish with a top 5 class and having beat FSU, is winning a bowl as critical as it was last year, is it a must?

Go Canes!

Posted by: WWIN | October 09, 2017 at 10:05 AM

I think you've got a different idea of what hating is than I do. I've never seen anyone saying anything other than objective things about both Choc and Malik on here.

And I understand Burns not playing until now but today, after Walton's injury, we still have 2/3rds of a season left to play. If he is truly a Top 60-80 player nationally, he has to beat out Choc and DJ for the number two running back spot for the rest of the season.

If he doesnt he's either too hurt or not good enough to compete here imo.

His Royal Dudeness

Posted by: UMike | October 09, 2017 at 12:13 PM

Most talented absolutely, best is subjective and VT will always try to throw their name in the conversation. That said, I think I'd rather play VT's than FSU's but its not an easy choice. Certainly its better that we get VT at home, if we are undefeated as we should be, I would expect great turnout at whatever we are calling the stadium.

Go Canes!

I think Homer is more than capable against the rest of our schedule.

Posted by: UMike | October 09, 2017 at 12:13 PM

Agree but we still need an effective number two guy, like he was for Walton from here on out.

Don't think Travis is as big or strong as Walton. Staying healthy after 80-100 carries as the featured back isn't easy.

UMike

Maybe choc is suprise us all, I still think he can be a help to us.

Sarasota 'cane

WWIN

Posted by: Go Canes! | October 09, 2017 at 12:20 PM

See there you go... implying that Burns has to beat out Choc is pretty much saying Choc is garbage and shouldn't be here.

You haven't seen enough of Choc to know what he can do... DJ has never played RB before... but if he can't beat those two out he needs to go right?

We haven't needed Burns until MAYBE THIS WEEKEND so what till after Saturday to ask the question of if he's hurt or not good... but it would make since to redshirt him at this point when it's too late for DJ to redshirt and has already been getting reps and it.

SinisterCane

Weird I didn’t even notice it, well at least we’re good in pass protection

VT will be the best D we'll face this year.

Go Canes!

Posted by: WWIN | October 09, 2017 at 01:03 PM

Sigh.

I think if we're one of only 10 remaining undefeated teams in the Power 5. We have a schedule that gives an opportunity to run the table and play Clemson for a shot in the final four. I think we could have eight or more games left to play.

I think Burns was rated as a Top 10 running back nationally if as good as advertised, should be giving the coaches no alternative but to play him. If not, to me it's a disappointment.

It's not about Choc it's about Burns.

CGNC

I used to plant pansies in the fall in NC - they would continue to flower even in the cold and snow. Pansies are tough :-)

TonyCane

You might be right 1mg. I think I tend to focus on last year, when the line was a sieve and Kayaa turned into David Carr (Year 4).

I'm just glad that we won. There should be no reason why we cannot put together a nice series streak now. Miami is on the ascent, FSU peaked three years ago and is very gradually trending down.

TheeMackJones

It's not necessarily apples to apples with Kayaa vs Rozier. Kayaa had a much worse offensive line, and overall probably a lesser supporting offensive cast when he played FSU those three times.

Posted by: TonyCane | October 09, 2017 at 08:12 AM

WRONG, again. I believe skinny hoe handle hips Kaaya had TWO NFL draft selections in ' 14. One of them, LT, was drafted in the 1st Round, and the other, RG, was drafted in the early 4th Round. Both are still on NFL rosters. Kaaya also had a TE blocking for him- NFL 3rd round selection.

TheeMackJones

Is it fair to say we have already saw the best, or most talented D we will see all year, unless we get Clemson? I think Homer is more than capable against the rest of our schedule.

Posted by: UMike | October 09, 2017 at 12:13 PM

Voila. And according to several NFL draft guru's, FSU has SIX legitimate NFL players on their starting defense. Most of those experts project these FSU players to be drafted between rounds ONE through FOUR. Ouch.

UMike

Ww he's been out there on ST trust me lol

TheeMackJones

Skinny hoe handle hips Kaaya was HANDICAPPED by both Golden and D'Onfrio. And that effected his winning percentage as a starting QB here. hUh.

You do realize that his situation is WAY DIFFERENT from normal right? He hasn't played in about 3yrs and you expect him to just pick up where he left off at the COLLEGE LEVEL? Maybe he needs a redshirt year to get fully healthy? But keep trying to make yourself sound smart... isn't working so far

WWIN

Ww he's been out there on ST trust me lol

Chokies and Notre Lame are in the same talent level and scheme effectiveness. Their offenses make their defenses better than the worse team in the state of Florida's defense this year you can argue convincingly without much trouble.

Go Canes!

Not saying it needs to be a love fest, but DAMN you would have thought we lost to FSU for the 8th straight year on this blog!!!!

Big up to Braxton Berrios - "Big time players make big time plays in big time games!"

We'll see no dropoff from Walton to Homer. Now, from starter to backup, there will be.

I hope DeeJay Dallas is Homer's backup, just based on Choc's history here.

Let us all take it in, and savor the victory, this entire week. I didn't know about Walton. That changes everything, I think. I am no football expert, but his injury has to be real bad for us.
Waiting for you football experts to give me some insight as to what it really means for the team.

Sarasota 'cane

GT is bringing their "gimmicky" triple option offense to the Hardrock on Saturday after a week off. They are in the "upswing" of their 2-3 year cycle, but UM's defense looks poised to shut that shyt down.

I feel bad about Walton and I hope he decides to come back for one more year. It's "next man up" time for the team. UM needs one more recruiting class for insurance, but I guarantee there are guys on that bench waiting for an opportunity just like Berrios.

10 wins in an 11 game season would be awesome, but 11 wins would blow me away. WIN.THE.COASTAL. and play for the ACC Title is still the goal. The rest will take care of itself.

Burns May not be the #2 guy for a bunch of reasons. Health, maybe he doesn't have the playbook down (see mullins), not as good as Choc right now, etc. If he deserves the time he will get it.

Same usual gang of idiots doing the same talking point routine, really, by comparison in a very similar situation last time we were at this part of the season's story. However, this time the rival is the worst team in the state of Florida, and they'll finish that way unlike last year where they beat the gold-hen girl loser for life against the primary rival dude and then rallied off that to try and build the hype for this faceplant follow up.

GT should be unbeaten and ranked even with their high school offense. Not expecting a huge fan turnout just yet so it might be a 28-23 squeaker instead of a statement about who's in first place in this division.

I wonder how long Georgia Tech stays with Johnson. Yes, that offense makes them a threat to teams who do not play them each year, and he's a good coach, but there is an absolute ceiling to the quadruple running back high school antediluvian offense. Would it beat alabama or Clemson or Ohio State? What WR or QB with NFL hopes wouldnwant to play in it? Is it even possible for them to come back if they are down 14 going into the 4th quarter?
