Donaldson is fat and slow and lacks energy and footwork. He needs to put down the bag of donuts. If you put him at tackle he will get killed by fast rush DEs and your QB will be in ICU.

We need 2 more Donaldsons at a minimum, 1 at the other guard and 1 on the bench rotating in. For all of 86's criticisms of him, he was by far and away our best offensive lineman.

BigWindyCane1

Donaldson as first team Freshman All American is quite an accomplishment for my LOF. Last season was Pinkney, Quarterman and Richards. CMR's first two recruiting classes in 2016 and 2017 were small, but very talented. CMR chose quality, and didn't give scholarships to players who weren't up to CMR's standards. The Canes opted instead to go the graduate transfer route. Another recruiting year like 2016-17, and the Canes will stack more talent and depth.

This 2018 class is the best recruiting class in nearly two decades in terms of quality and quantity. This class, along with the current roster, is going to really take the Canes to the next level.

BigWindyCane1

Also, its good to see my defensive LOF Jaquan Johnson gets second team all American! Soup should be happy that this former Killian Cougar is finally being recognized.

BigWindyCane1

Canes are #6 in AP Poll and #8 in the Coaches Poll in men's college basketball.

There IT is right there.

If all you want an OG to do is lumber slowly straight ahead 3 yards and fall on a guy once in a while and call it a pancake block then he's your man. Sure he is young and he will grow into his body and weight but he would be much more agile, mobile and have much better balance and more stamina at 330-335 that 350-355.

LOL, totally objective. I wouldn't be disappointed if SOUP chose McIntosh and Bandy, though.

I think McIntosh and Jaquan both deserve it, 1 & 1A. Mike Jackson 3rd. For freshman, thats a little harder because Donaldson had more game to game impact but Bandy was more dynamic in key spotsn I say both should get it.

Its nice to see the Canes have some many deserving Canespace LOFs. Last season the Canes had three freshman All Americans, Pinkney, Quarterman and Richards, and this season there were many deserving candidates as well. You can pick your friends but not your family! The owner is a Michigan grad and all the players and coaches went to other schools as well. On top of that I don't get caught up in stuff like that. The Dolphins won last night and that's good enough for me. I guess what I'm saying is, "To each their own".

Most electrifying moment of any Canes game I’ve ever been to.

The OB was shaking as he ran that one back.

It was crazy.

Harry Miller

I was at the Orange Bowl in 1966 when Joe Auer ran the first ever kickoff back 95 yards for a touchdown.
The Dolphins will always be my number two team, despite what some Michigan grad did.

JJ Watt:

"I filled out the “recruiting questionnaire” on their website when I was a freshman. Got an automated letter back from Larry Coker. Was too young & naive too know it was automated. I was hyped. Obviously never heard from them again lol. I was a 2-star recruit."

2. Shakin and bakin!

3. Indeed it was crazy!

His Royal Dudeness

The only Orange Bowl game I ever went to was against WV in 2003. That was my 1st and last game at the OB. Then I saw the Canes play against NEV after moving to Idaho.

His Royal Dudeness

Now I need to see a game at Hard Rock. Maybe in 2019.

Sarasota 'cane

My first Hurricane game in the Orange Bowl was the Orange Bowl Game in '88, Jimmy Johnson's Hurricanes vs Barry Switzer's Sooners! It was a Christmas present from my Dad when I got out of the Army in December '87. It was National Title II!! I attended at least one game a year after that until the old girl was torn down.
On a side note I had not felt that energy in the new stadium until the Virginia Tech game this season. As Terrance said we were finally able to put the OB to rest with dignity. RIP, "We got this!"

Devin Hester, the NFL's career leader in combined kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns, announced his retirement via Twitter on Tuesday.

"I have good news and bad news," he said in a statement. "Good news: Commissioner Goodell, you can put the kickoff back at the 30. Bad news: Y'all will have to find a new favorite returner."

Hester, 35, finishes his career with 14 punt returns for touchdowns --?also the best in NFL history -- and five TDs on kickoff returns. He also had one touchdown return of a missed field goal.

Considered the best return man in the NFL for many years, Hester made four Pro Bowls and was first-team All-Pro three times.

I am AMAZED at Ohio Cane's knowledge of football in general, but the CANES in particular. The man is a genius, for the CANES, of course.
I loved Devin Hester. His remarks today about getting his swagger, confidence, and being the best, all came from the U. Warmed my heart.
I remember getting on the student bus, going to the Orange Bowl, whenever the Canes played. Wasn't sure the ole girl would still be standing. All the people, hard bench seats, the filthy bathrooms and the smell. Butt it was all part of the best, scary stadium, back in the 60's. God Bless Her.

South Florida '18- The CBs
Three of the top corners in the NFL are Patrick Peterson (Broward), Xavier Rhodes (Miami-Dade) and Janoris Jenkins (Palm Beach). This is a region that produces corners. But I can’t remember a class with this much size and ability. There are several NFL starters in this group and a bunch of guys who will make waves in college.

*= verified numbers

Tyson Campbell- 6’3, 181, 4.47* (American Heritage)- One of the biggest freaks we’ve ever had down here. State champion in 100M (10.4) and 200M (20.8). Already huge and may not be done growing. Willing tackler who could also play safety. Reminds me of a bigger, faster Artie Burns.

Patrick Surtain, Jr.- 6’2, 192, 4.57* (American Heritage)- It’s rare to have a prospect like Tyson Campbell. It’s even more rare to have a guy like Surtain in the same class. And it’s unthinkable to have two corners that gifted on the same HS team. Like Campbell, Surtain is big and fast (10.87 100M) but he has the added ability to score with the ball in his hands. Still not a finished product at corner.

Al Blades, Jr.- 6’, 170* (St. Thomas)- Aggressive, wiry corner with a big personality. Dominates top receivers in camp settings. Excellent feet. 3.95 verified shuttle as a sophomore. Quicker than fast. Plays in a rotation with 2019 stud Jaden Davis. Can be too aggressive at times and needs to improve his patience. A coach like Rumph is perfect for him.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4285146...eaaa3ce0c938c7

DJ Ivey- 6’1, 170* (South Dade)- Long, lanky corner with the feet of a little man. Extremely smooth and fluid. Missed most of his junior year but exploded as a senior with 5 INTs. Excellent IQ and recognition skills. Speed is the only thing holding him back from five-star status.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4754675...6be22cfc058e77

Asante Samuel, Jr.- 5’9.5, 165* (St. Thomas)- Maybe the best high school corner on the list. Elite feet and balance. Makes plays on the ball like his father. Big-time special teams player who has blocked multiple kicks. Has some Vernon Hargreaves, Jr. in his game. Lacks great size and speed but is a pure player.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4316412...6abe0574dd01d4

Keidron Smith- 6’2, 180, 4.72*(Oxbridge)- Ascendant athlete. Excels in basketball and brings some of that explosion and coordination to the corner position. I’ve heard comparisons to a taller Corn Elder and it fits. Flashes physicality.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4564211...49340d10c43318

Divaad Wilson- 6’, 180, 4.62* (Northwestern)- Looks the part of an elite corner. Long arms, sturdy frame and excellent athleticism. Strong hands to snatch INTs. I’ve heard mixed things about his mental makeup but he has sky-high upside.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4366568...518f197cc6ad93

Nigel Bethel- 6,’ 170 (Northwestern)- Size/speed prospect with intriguing upside. Played mostly receiver for the state champion Bulls and made big plays at key moments. Caught my eye with an explosive catch-and-run against Central. 10.78 in the 100M and handtimed at 4.38 in the 40. Contributes on special teams as well.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8037753...191611b09692dd

Teshuan Smith- 6’2, 170 (Western)- Underrated player from an underrated program. Natural corner movement. Fluid with some ball skills. Reminds me a bit of DJ Ivey. NC State commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4042932...8b9c01a024f3bf

Stanley Garner- 6’1, 170 (Dillard)- Like Keidron Smith, Garner is a long two-way player who stars on the hardwood. Has the coordination and bounciness you would expect from a hooper. Cornerback feet. Intriguing potential as he gets stronger and more physical. Kentucky commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/7401871...812b12606198d6

Miguel Edwards – 5’11, 169* (Deerfield Beach)- Oklahoma commit with smooth, versatile game. Key member of a dominant Bucks defense. Played some safety last year for Coconut Creek but projects as a corner. Good tackler.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4716488...fa7f055079bddb

Marquis Williams- 5’9, 165* (Cardinal Gibbons)- Like Edwards, Williams is a classic South Florida corner- undersized, quick and competitive. Plays bigger than his size with the ball in the air. Excellent change of direction. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. Pitt commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9011192...b44c3114424612

Chandler Jones- 5’10, 173 (Central) Smooth mover who can mirror all day. Best in off-coverage. Undersized with average speed. Excellent feet. Pure cover corner. Louisville commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5241660...3cea0ca8cef626

Teja Young – 5’11, 170 (Palm Beach Lakes)- One of the more underrated corners in the class. HS QB with very good shake in the open field. Not overly long but well put-together. Has some pop as a tackler. Colorado State commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/7984042...8eaf23d42447d7

Jamari Brown- 6’1 170 (Ely) Speedy talent from Patrick Peterson’s old school. Good size and natural tools. Makes plays at receiver. Raw on defense. Kentucky commit with upside.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/7599835...f640034498c511

Noah Pierre- 5’9, 170 (Champagnat)- Fun player who is starting to generate Power 5 interest. Undersized but twitched up with outstanding short-area burst. Can deliver a jolt. Excellent feet and ball skills. Slot corner traits. Won a state championship at Champagnat after spending his junior year at Hallandale.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6083220...8ec31d8c8bae16

Kenih Lovely- 5’10, 167 (Delray Beach Atlantic)- Rock-solid corner who just won a state championship for Atlantic, a noted DB factory. One of the top ballhawks in Palm Beach. Not afraid to come up against the run. Average speed but athletic. Dwyer transfer. Western Michigan commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4769999...d8b905a80b44ea

Ron Hardge III- 6’, 167, 4.8* (Cardinal Gibbons)- Productive member of a gifted Gibbons secondary. Lacks explosion but plays with instincts. Could end up at safety or corner. Illinois commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5277703...4c8910985fdbf5

Yanez Rogers, Jr.- 6’1, 170 (Ely)- Dynamic HS QB who made some highlight reel plays as a senior. Lightning quick. Can make defenders look silly in short spaces. Average speed. Needs to get stronger. Cincinnati commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6536955...6ea909f40be203

Avery Thornton- 6’1, 175, 4.8* (Boyd Anderson)- Two-way player with some length and athleticism. Does not have great speed but moves well. Decommitted from UCF following Scott Frost’s departure.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4001509...24573b548e7651

Traquan Butler- 5’9, 170 (Southridge)- Undersized, feisty Killian transfer who some have called a poor man’s Trajan Bandy. Twitchy and competitive. Good ball skills (5 INTs as junior).

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/5439068...53d827384f5ec4

Eric “Dank” Smith- 5’10, 170 (Norland)- South Florida dog who plays reckless. Lines up at safety for Norland but projects as a corner at the next level. Good feet on the camp circuit. Comes from a program that produces as much NFL talent as anyone. Shocked he doesn’t have more Group of 5 offers.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4508759...a9210b28ebc80a

Jamal Anderson- 6’1, 170* (South Dade)- Big corner with ball skills. Will go up and high-point the football. Had two INTs against Coral Gables earlier this season. Speed is the question mark. May end up at safety.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/7078152...f561105c2aa718

Jermaine McMillan (Booker T)- 6’2, 185- Wiry corner who plays aggressive. Has some stiffness and may fit best at safety. UCF commit.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9392719...223607b8a8be0b

Bryand Rincher- 5’9, 147, 4.43* (Piper)- Arguably the fastest corner in the country. Timed at 10.3 in the 100M. Still developing as a football player. Fearless and explosive tackler despite his size. Can flip his hips. Decommitted from Western Kentucky to sign a track scholarship with FSU.
