Some Miami Hurricane fans find it perfectly normal and righteous to make many excuses for UM Head Coach Mark Richt as to why did not accomplish all of his goals at UM this season, lost embarrassingly to lowly 4-8 Pitt, then to Clemson in the ACC title game and then to Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl.
On the other hand Central Florida Knight fans have no reason to make any excuses because UCF coach Scott Frost led the only undefeated team in college football this year and proved it on the field by beating Memphis in the AAC championship game and in the Peach Bowl by beating Auburn even after having accepted a new head coaching job at Nebraska.
And Frost did it all with half the talent and none of the facilities or support that Richt had.
It took Frost two years to take completely unknown UCF from 0-12 to 14-0 and perfection.
It took Richt two years to take well known UM from 8-5 to 10-3 and far short of perfection.
Sure some fans think that Mark Richt is the long term answer to Miami's misery over the last decade.
I say only time will tell if that is in fact the truth or just another Hurricane myth yet to be dispelled.
