People don't respect other folks guidance like they used to soup. It's much easier to learn from others mistakes.
When I had my first heart attack and they were trying to get me to go to the hospital and I didn't want to the sheriff in fort Gaines Ga. Said,"A hard headed rabbit make good soup."

Dem Canes!!!

I have come to discover that people, and by people I mean ALL people, old/young, male/female, educated/uneducated, etc. simply cannot handle or accept constructive criticism. Is this new or has it always been this way? Please discuss.

I don’t criticize three star recruits because Miami seems to have success with some.

For example, Njoku and Dorset were three star recruits, and both were first round draft picks.

Garvin and Pinkney were three star recruits on defense, and with hard work, they both are on a path to be future NFL prospects.

Norton and MIchael Jackson were three star prospects too, and they both are NFL prospects.

Jon Ford was a three star, and Coach Kul and DIAZ believe he has an NFL future.

Jordan Miller and Rousseau are three star recruits, but I cannot wait to see what they do when they arrive on campus.

The list goes on. When it comes to three-star prospects, the Canes have a track record of developing them into NFL prospects

THIS.

I am more concerned with what we do with guys once they get here. We have been putting 3* guys in the league a LONG time. Proper recruiting and development would give us a top 10 team with 85% 3 stars. Florida is chock full of players that are our type that go unheralded. Dude was right when he said we have to be different we have a difficult time competing in the star gazing game. We need more film and legwork.

There is no excuse for Jordan Miller to have to gift wrap himself to us. No 8A recruit with his measurable and tape should come out of 8A without us knowing about him. There should be a system for identifying guys with breakout senior years earlier. Our support staff is inadequate. We should be finding guys like him all over the state. Hungry football players. Fock all that pitty patting and seven on seven at camp. Get the guys that wreck shop on tape. Get different types of guys for different roles.

We always looking at unheralded players who would have sold their first born to play for us go elsewhere and ball out and we say "how did we miss him?" We never even offered. Why? Star gazing. Now is are our high number of washouts and dismissals a coaching problem or recruiting problem? I watch other teams around the nation.

The big 3 FBI programs in the state are all less explosive than they should be on both sides of the ball. Many would say the in state kids are prima donnas, but they seem to do well making every other big time out of state program look like they invented football..

TruCane81

Fbs not FBI.

Go Canes!!

The “Star” system is so manipulated it’s ridiculous.

Guys like Garvin, Ford and the rest sho commit to UM early get the shaft every time.

Saw one site where Gsrvin’s profile hadn’t been edited since the day he committed, which means they didn’t even look at his SR year.

If either of those two flipped to Bama, Michigan or Ohio State they’d have been borderline 5 Stars. Their production was off the charts and no one cared cause they didn’t get clicks for the pay sites.

After a surprising and embarrassing renewed search for a head coach, the Indianapolis Colts hired Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich on Sunday.

Reich is expected to be formally introduced at a Tuesday press conference, the Colts announced.

The Colts' decision to hire the Super Bowl-winning coordinator wrapped up an intensive coaching search after New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' stunning move to back out of an agreement in principle that led to the team announcing Tuesday that he would be introduced at a news conference Wednesday.

Recruiting is only going to get better as we continue to get on these guys earlier and earlier:

86Cane

How much do you want to bet that after New England realized that after they already lost their DC to a head coaching job and were losing their OC to the Colts that they promised McDaniels that he would be the next HC at New England after Bellichek (and Brady) retires in another two years?

Hence the turnaround?

Miami Athletics launched the Building Women Champions campaign Sunday, an initiative that will enhance scholarship support, leadership development and career coaching for Hurricane female student-athletes. The campaign, launched at the 4th annual Celebration of Women's Athletics, will strive to develop women student-athletes into leaders in competition and in life, and empower them to achieve excellence well beyond their time at UM.

"Sport gives young women confidence and self-worth and it teaches resilience and teamwork," said Jennifer Strawley, Deputy Director of Athletics, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Woman Administrator. "I have seen first-hand how college athletics changes lives. At the University of Miami, we are committed to creating an environment that encourages our female student-athletes to raise the bar higher and be empowered to be the leaders of tomorrow."

Two things are certain to be three years from now.

1) Daniels will be the coach of the Patriots.

2) Sinister will be hysterical about a recruit that got away and a coach that must be fired, all while wearing a Frierson jersey.

Rome wasn't built in a day. ..but parts of it are still standing. ...UM FOOTBALL wasn't either. ..but our foundation has sustained 15 miserable yrs....I for one believe it is coming. ..this negative shit talk about missing on recruiting is half empty. ..we are just now becoming a good program again. ...I want to see #6 as much as any rabid Cane brother. ..but, seriously. ..if you can crap on this class and program. ..you need to get busy on your honey do list. ..and let things take form...if you don't have a honey do list. ..go find a honey and do.

God bless you and your family and go Canes!

I say that we make Ark State our spring gAme as a makeup. Hold it down here in Miami, and give the funds to Ark.

Play the starters the entire game.

At first I was like ha funny, then I was like yea maybe

TonyCane

Seriously though, if Ark wants to do that they should be permanently off the schedule. And I’d reach out to the other Florida schools to do the same.

I’m sure the contracts address this. Can’t imagine not.

Arkansas State throughout history:

Dec 17th, 1941: Arkansas State files a lawsuit after the University of Hawaii cancels the final football game of the season, following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Augustus Clod, Chancellor stated, "I am all for safety and putting life ahead of football but it is crass to use this minor affair as an excuse to avoid playing a game you don’t want to play."

I agree we should reschedule them, play our starters all 60 minutes and not take the foot off the gas until we Kerwin Bell their QB and Cotton Bowl the scoreboard.

They’re so f-ing childish and pathetic. They act like a jilted fan who can’t get over an 18 year old picking another school.

Since a single positive word about anyone in this class had not been made, thought the Frierson jersey comment was a little more subtle.

Oh the horror, the unfairness of it all

I'm surprised they just didn't make them say five Hail Marys.

The Notre Dame football program must vacate the 21 wins it accumulated during the 2012 and 2013 seasons after losing an NCAA appeal.

The decision to uphold the November 2016 ruling drops the Fighting Irish's all-time win total to 885.

Along with the lost wins, the Division I Committee on Infractions panel previously announced punishments that included a year of probation and a $5,000 fine for the university based on findings the trainer completed course work for two student-athletes, while a third committed separate individual misconduct.

For fans of our incoming class...

Don't give up on your favorite frosh if he doesn't start next year. There are some talented former 4* players that they have to beat out.

This will help the Canes tremendously when the season starts. A win in the opener against LSU will put the Canes on a CF playoff track

BigWindyCane1

The Canes could be favored in every game on their schedule. Need more consistent play from the QB position and a healthy Richards. The offensive line will be more talented, and there are more playmakers on offense at the skilled positions, but the Canes are young.

Go Canes!!

This really is an incredible stat:

Today's reminder of the unpredictability of the draft:

The first 4 QBs drafted in 2012 threw 0 passes in 2017.

The 5th QB in 2012 was so bad, Houston gave up a second-round pick to get rid of his contract.

The 6th, 7th and 8th QBs were Russell Wilson, Nick Foles and Kirk Cousins.

Herbieibis

Just because of LSU’s recent history and our unpredictability at qb, LSU will probably be favored by 3.
I’ll say this, i’d rather have a handful of 5 stars (5) than a roster full of 3’s. Now a 5 star can flop but if u have enough of them that one flip won’t matter. A three star means C, which doesn’t mean he isn’t good, it just means, some physical issues or consistency issues. Good coaching can get rid of the inconsistency. Our LB’S our a perfect example, they have talent but they are 3 star players because they don’t play at the level they need to each week.

SinisterCane

There are no Al Blade legacies or Frank Gore's cousins Walkin' through that door next year FIRE RUMPH

CoCane

Hoops team is the dumbest, poorly coached squad coach L has had since he's been here. I don't know if he's losing his touch or if it's the assistants. Too much talent to play this bad...
