Go Canes!!

We picked up what looks to be a hell of a DT commit yesterday.

Go Canes!!

Not that anyone on this blog cares.

Go...he's 6-3 and 250 and class of 2020. Hard to get super excited when there is such a LONG way to go?

Go Canes!!

Breaking: '20 DT Moise Commits to Miami
Andrew Ivins -

Miami has picked up another commitment in the Class of 2020

InsideTheU and 247Sports has confirmed that Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna defensive tackle Willie Moise has given a verbal pledge to the Hurricanes.

"Miami has always been home," Moise said. "I grew up a Miami fan and I figured why not stay home."

Moise, who is unranked by all major recruiting services at the time, went both ways this past season for a Lions team that captured a 3A state title.

The sophomore wasn't able to call UM's coaches to tell them that he was committing given NCAA rules, but said that his father spoke with both Mark Richt and Manny Diaz.

"They were excited. I mean I loved Miami it's a great school that's on the rise and I want to be a part of it."

Moise's dad also talked with Jess Simpson. The former Atlanta Falcons assistant coach is expected to be introduced as Miami's new defensive line coach in the coming days.

"I don't know too much about him, but I'm excited to meet him."

That will likely happened on Saturday as Moise said that both him and his father are set to visit Coral Gables for the men's basketball game against Virginia Tech.

Miami now holds commitments from a pair of prospects at Chaminade-Madonna in Moise and 2018 three-star defensive lineman Cameron Williams. The coaches are also targeting guys like Tennessee cornerback commit Te'Cory Couch and Kentucky safety commit Keontra Smith.

"Anybody wants to be part of The U family ... I'm pushing for them to do that."

Mosie (6-2.5, 276) also holds early offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Kentucky.

The Hurricanes currently hold the nation's No. 1 ranked 2020 recruiting class per the 247Sports Composite. The group includes prospects like five-star wide receiver Leonard Manuel, five-star safety Avantae Williams and Top100 defensive end Samuel Anaele.

But would it have been big news if as a local kid he’d chosen Tennessee?

Very likely.

Why Not??

"Newton is absolutely killing them. He can't shoot, drive or pass. And I'll never get Huell's minutes unless there is something off the court we don't know about.

They are painful to watch this year. A ton of talented that when put together aren't pretty.

Don't think one and done players are a good fit for Coach L.

Got a 16 year old teenage boy to swing from the nuts of now so you can pretend not to be a negative nancy GD sid-tard daily? Too bad it's all in the post history and noo1curr about your teenage boy chasing posts GD.

Don't know football and obviously don't know basketball either but you're all on top of Fake Lame's lies when he sends you the talking point about signs being banned before getting caught lying to protect your favorite loser coach until he gets fired mid-season after the worst loss in UM football history. Keep sniffing those underage boy jock straps though, it's about the only thing you excel at obviously.

Go Canes!!

Whew, thought the slow blogging would somehow diminish your bizarre obsession with me.

But there you are like clockwork, with your psychotic, scab scratching, baker act inducing rambles.

You really are one competely deranged buffoon.

But you make me laugh, so thanks for that.

p.s. Go fu@k yourself.

Now we're back! LOL

Squabbling on the 'space.

Enjoy the "Four Play" this year! Go 'Canes!

Soup/CEO/Mr.86, PLEASE don't kill the space over keyboard beef for lol..

Sidebar- Cheerleaders wear the UGLIEST orthopedic shoes one could EVER imagine a halfway cute woman NOT wearing!!

Old Skool

In my opinion, if you're noticing the shoes, you're looking way too low.

Our DL leave because they may be a middle round pick~:

Wilkins, Austin Bryant and Clelin Ferrell all passed up opportunities to enter the NFL draft because they were unhappy with their grades as possible second-round picks

Women's tennis was winning their individual matches but got rained out (incomplete).

Canes lose in baseball to Maine 6-1. Three errors, three hits for Miami and only one. Major headaches for Hurricane fans in attendance.

Four play off to a shaky start.

Basketball at noon, baseball at 6 PM tomorrow.

See ya!

Love the Four Play article and photos! This is what Canespace should be all about. Good luck guys!

Alex D

What's good Legion/Canespace? Long time no post; when did Canespace become Ghostspace? You guys do know spring FOOTBALL practice is right around the corner ... Right?

Soup, can we please get a blob for Legend of the Spring? Enjoy your Saturday. Long live the Legion.

Wow. Nice win at the end vs. VT.

Cardiac Canes do it again. Incredible. We a lock for the tourney

Great Canes win, maybe we can crack the top 25 and a classic OGV and GC squabble to boot.
Canespace Rocks!!!

No Top25 nonsense. We lose immediately when cracking that crap. Top25 is not for this team.

Based on what happens in the UNC and Clemson games, the Canes could go as high as a third seed in the ACC Tournament. The Canes have 22 wins, and (sorry BeerCane) but NativeCane is right in that the Canes will probably end up in the top 25 on Monday.

This was a solid season without the Canes best player, Bruce Brown. I think B.B. was injured earlier in the season and played through it until the injury was aggravated and forced him out. The Canes would be a much better team with him in the lineup. B.B. was the best rebounder and passer. The Canes lack strength in those areas. The Canes really don’t get enough assists and ball movement on offense. The Canes also need to rebound better. I give Coach L credit for finding a lineup that works. The Canes hit a rough patch, but managed to close out the regular season with four straight wins, two on the Roland one against a top 10 team (UNC).

Well we squeezed out a few wins to end the regular season on a very positive note. I only hope that the men's basketball team didn't peak too soon.
Will BB return for the Big Dance?

Tie me kangaroo down sport!

Dejan V (from Down U) has been a pleasant surprise this season. I think he has improved a lot, compared to his freshman season last year. He's more than a 3-point assassin these days. I like that he aggressively drives to the basket sometimes too. He scored 16 points today (to lead the team); and we needed all of them to beat VT.

Put another shrimp on the bar-b.

Tom it was great seeing you at the basketball game.

3rd seed

3rd seed. double bye in the ACC tourney. Wow.
Another remarkable coaching job and another 20 plus win season by Miamis amazing head basketball coach . L should have a building named after by the time he retires.

UNC the 6 seed in the ACC tourney projected 2 seed in the NCAA. Go figure.

Samuel Brooks , a 2019 LB/DE out of Miami Northwestern committed to the U. Very productive player, who is the type of player that the Canes should be recruiting. Looks like the Canes are stockpiling local talent. I like that they are identifying prospects and trusting their internal recruiting evaluations of prospects. Most of these prospects will rise up the rankings this season. They have some really good players committed.

mark weaver

The Herb is not wanting to rain down on anyone's enthusiasm but the '19 class is loaded with a bunch of 3 stars, like 10 of them, according to 247 sports. Now I do realize it's early and these Verbs have plenty of time to see their stocks rise or stars if you will but our #1 ranking will only be a ruse if some don't improve their stock. If this were a year ending class, then we would be just inside the top 25. Only there now because of numbers.

Go Canes!!

Yet everyone want them....

Miami commits being targeted aggressively by SEC schools

Ryan Wooden

The Miami Hurricanes have kicked off the new recruiting cycle in style, having already secured 11 commitments from Class of 2019 prospects to give them the No. 1 class in the nation. However, part of the issue with planting your flag so early is that you have to work hard to ward off the hyenas.

Of the 11 players committed, 10 of those players are from Florida and Miami was able to land on those players early with them in their backyard. But now the SEC is swooping in, per usual.

In the past few weeks, 6 of the 10 Miami prospects committed from Florida have received a new SEC offer, according to a report from Andrew Ivins of InsideTheU.com.

Renato Brown, a 3-star prospect from Palm Beach Central that could play offensive or defensive line, has recently received offers from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri. Fellow 3-star offensive line prospect Kingsley Eguakun was sent offers by Tennessee and Auburn.

Tight end Larry Hodges is a 3-star from Jesuit in Tampa and he was recently offered by LSU. Meanwhile, 3-star defensive end Cameron Williams was also offered by Missouri.

Finally, 3-star running back Marcus Crowley and 3-star linebacker Jesiah Pierre were both offered by Florida.

South Florida in particular and Florida as a whole is obviously the most fertile recruiting ground in the nation for football, so you’re always going to face enormous amounts of competition over star prospects. However, the SEC has feasted while Miami was down.

Now that they’re coming off a 10-win season and are welcoming the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation, the Hurricanes are positioned to reestablish their dominance on the recruiting trail. So holding onto the commitments that they have will be a top priority for Mark Richt and his staff as he looks to make 2019 his best recruiting class yet at Miami.

Lykes, Lonnie Walker III and DJ all made the ACC All Academic team

Sam Brooks is Nate Brooks' nephew...Nate's the other half of that famous blocked punt/scoop score combo vs WVU.

Play it again CaneRock....lest we forget why we hate the couchburners!

Back at U!

Native...U and Old Skool missed a really good time in the 305 at the Four Play. IJS

Per ESPN: Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin ran a time of 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash Sunday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, the fastest time for a linebacker in more than a decade.

Stanford's Jon Alston had the previous best time for a linebacker in the 40, at 4.40 in 2006, the first year ESPN Stats & Information began documenting 40 times at the combine.

It was a big weekend for Griffin, who on Saturday did 20 repetitions of 225 pounds in the bench press, using a prosthetic on his left arm to attach to the bar. Griffin had his left hand amputated at age 4 because of amniotic band syndrome, a congenital condition.

Lakewood, HS (St. Petersburg) Florida native, Griffin and his twin brother, who plays for the Seattle Seahawks, were two star recruits by some scouting services, and both played for UCF.

Four Play was a huge success: 3-1-1

Baseball: 2-1

Basketball: 1-0

Women's Tennis: Incomplete (due to rain)

Terrance Sullivan

For those who have been around the block a few times (and I just added another block today) here's a name from the past. I have to take a business trip to Colorado at the end of the month. It's likely we'll eat at Sonny Lubick's Steakhouse. What is it with the football coaches and steakhouses?
