What a tragedy...

Terrance Sullivan

Happy birthday and Rest In Heaven to the Legendary Sean Taylor!

BigWindyCane1

Soup, Thanks for sharing and remembering #26. Reed, Buchanan and Rolle all were great Canes who had great NFL careers, but Sean Taylor set the standard. His life was cut short too soon. Taylor would be 35 years old today.

Terrance Sullivan

Disagree BigWindyCane Ed Reed is the standard, followed by Bennie Blades, then the late great Sean Taylor, followed by Fred Marion as the Mount Rushmore of Miami Hurricanes Safeties.

Taylor, Reed, Blades, Marion.

Taylor would tear your head off!

Old wounds still have not healed.

Losing my all time favorite Cane so senselessly will never sit well.

Every time I see that tinted face plate,I get chills.

Just look at him. A straight up super hero. He looks like Robocop or Iron Man. Only difference is, he would kick their butts.

I pray comfort and happiness for his widow, children, and loved ones.

Rest In Peace Sean Taylor. The greatest number 26 in the history of the sport.

Chris Rix is still waking up in cold sweats, screaming.

2002 at the Doak.

The game Sean Taylor beat FSU BY HIMSELF!

Bringing back the orange pants made the game even more classic.

TruCane81

Wait no that was 03. My bad.

My wife and I were AT that game in TALLY. It was the most unbelievable performance I have ever seen.

I agree 100%. Taylor was simply an unbelievable football player - no one before or since has done what he has done. Taylor could cover like a high-level CB, tackle like a high-level LB, and cover the entire field like a high-level safety. Taylor was also a student of the game. Taylor could change the entire game with his performances, both in college and when he went to the pros. Taylor struck fear. QBs were always looking for where he was. WRs, RBs and TEs were also looking for him.

I love Reed. Reed is a HOF, and had the best career of any NFL safety. Reed also was on the national championship team, and he played on the Ravens with the GOAT (Ray Lewis). But I am sure if you speak to anyone who played with or against Taylor, they would tell you that he was the most dominant football player they have ever faced.

Terrance Sullivan

I still have Have Reed, Blades, Taylor, Marion. In that order. I have my lists and U all have your lists. They are the 4 best to ever play Safety at the U!

Reed -Taylor- Blades - Crow

His Royal Dudeness

Taylor's game in '03 is probably the best game a safety ever had in college or above, maybe the best defensive performance ever. I can close my eyes and see him coming the other way with the ball. What did Bowden say afterwards? Something to the effect of: "Ive been coaching this game a long time. Ive seen many great ones on both teams, but that number 26 is the best Ive ever seen." Sean Taylor would have been the best strong safety ever, Reed the greatest FS.

His Royal Dudeness

Lt. General A.P. Hill was shot and killed today in 1865 while riding the defenses at Petersburg. At this point in 1865 the Civil War is almost concluded.

College basketball ball has gotten out of hand. Get your degrees kids, because you'll probably won't make it in the NBA

Terrance Sullivan

Lol they haven't signed with a agent so they can return to college as long as they do by June 11th. Futhermore. I know a lot of U hate Former President Shalala she put in place that former student athletes can return to the University of Miami to finish their degree free of charge. And I am Happy that Current University of Miami President Frenk has continued that policy. I don't blame the Young Men for testing the waters and not signing with a agent. Get their Value to know will they be a first round pick or not. If not then come back to school for another year. If you get a undrafted status come back for 2 more years.

What is the difference between the LSU TIGERS and the Miami Hurricanes?

The last championship picture of LSU TIGERS wasn’t in black and whote

Okay, I’ll bite Shrek. Your last championship came with two losses. When you won in 2003 it was with a loss. Your only other championship was with an undefeated squad, but it was in 1958. Good luck finding footage of that event. It’s mixed in with newsreel footage of Ike. Perhaps there are clay tablets and cuneiform that describe its triumphs.

Do you get cuneiform in your tree stump house, or does Donkey take all of the media from you?

Soon-to-be redshirt senior Trayone Gray, out of Carol City High, is now practicing at fullback.

“I wouldn’t call him an experiment,’’ Brown said of Gray. “I think he definitely knows what to do at tailback. We’re just trying to find a way to get him involved in the game more. He’s the biggest guy I have in my room. He’s about 240 now, and he’s physical enough to play fullback. I’m definitely pleased where he is at.’’

240...jeesh...he is bigger than Gus Edwards now. We might have to call him "Supertrain".
