Twas the night before signing day and all through the land,
Canes fans were praying for the recruits in high demand.
The visits were now done and the recuits were all tucked in,
On National Signing Day we would know who was out and who was in.
Letters of Intent would be signed by players far and near,
Some recruits would be maligned while others would be cheered.
Come Harris, come Bryant, Jones, Hardin and Streeter too,
The Canes coaches, players and fans will proudly welcome U!
1st!

Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM
Cola,
He's announcing at 9 am tomorrow.
Posted by: bg1906 | February 05, 2008 at 09:02 PM
Cola,
Also Manny has new audio up from Streeter on the UM page under Audio.
Posted by: bg1906 | February 05, 2008 at 09:05 PM
Manny and Blu, thanks for everything. I officially have no more questions.
Team Shannon and the U's Legacy will take care of the rest.
Posted by: Cavaleer | February 05, 2008 at 09:06 PM
Whats the announcement schedule tomorrow. So far I have Streeter at 9am. Anywhere can we listen to these?
Posted by: Canesjunkie | February 05, 2008 at 09:10 PM
Manny...as far as starters next year, are you a Coop or JJ man? McNeal or Chambers?
Posted by: 86Cane | February 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM
Thanks bg. We get him, and Harris, and Perry, we're sittin pretty.
Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:12 PM
Larry...if you were reading recruits motives for picking ANY school, what do you think the top three factors would be for MOST recruits?
Posted by: 86Cane | February 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM
Junkie...I am announcing at 3 PM. I'm not sure what exactly I am announcing, but I am announcing something!
Posted by: 86Cane | February 05, 2008 at 09:14 PM
I predict RB, BH and TJ come in, along with Streeter and Perry.
Who else is outstanding?
Super and BG, did you see at Manny's his source claiming Harper's going to Clemson?? Not a terrible surprise. His friendship with the OL sealed it. We'll see....
Posted by: Cavaleer | February 05, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Manny, Harris isn't going to just pull a freak on us, and put on an OSU hat is he? I'm borderline puking as it is, I don't need anymore pressure, lol.
Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Larry B,
Does this UM recruiting class addresses UM needs?
Posted by: Kanesville | February 05, 2008 at 09:16 PM
Hey guys. Larry is going to join us a little later. He's got a phone call to make to a coach now. He's setting up his show for tomorrow on WQAM from 9-10 p.m. If you guys don't know, he does a weekly one hour show there every week talking about recruiting and high school football.
Larry and I have big plans for the future together. And I'm glad he's made the extra effort tonight to come on and answer some of your questions. But for now, just be patient he'll be on later tonight.

Manny, and Larry for that matter, could you please give me your breakdown on the odds of Miami landing Brandon Harris and TJ Bryant. Which one is more likely to end up at Miami out of the two in your opinion?
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | February 05, 2008 at 09:16 PM
what impact do you think jared campbell and damien berry will have next season? they both looked good as freshmen. do they project more at CB or S?

Q: Any word on Streeter? Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM
A: He knows where he's going. I think its South Carolina. Check out the audio interview I did. There is a link on Eye On The U. That goes for all of you wondering what's going on with Streeter.
Posted by: Manny Navarro | February 05, 2008 at 09:18 PM
What happened to Allen Bailey from last year's recruits, anybody?
Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:18 PM
I for one believe we get Harper. I still have hope.
Posted by: bg1906 | February 05, 2008 at 09:18 PM
Manny, a question from your blog...
Do SS and Ryan Hill get blown out of the water as I predict they will???
Posted by: Cavaleer | February 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM
The players coming back from last year who do you think steps up there game and will be the next big name at miami? Please name one from defense and one from offense. Manny you seriously out do yourself everytime I come on your blogs. Thanks for all the hard work.
Posted by: megacane | February 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM
What's going on with Kendal Thompkins? Despite his low ranking (I don't pay too much attention to stars anyway and for good reason), Thompkins is a great WR. He has great hands, speed, and play-making ability. I know we have a lot of other WR's like him in this class but to me he'd be a big loss. I'm just wondering after reading how he has always wanted to be a Cane his whole life one scholarship offer has him jumping the gun.
Posted by: canes to the ship | February 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM
Manny...HUGE props to Larry for getting involved! He rocked the blog at Eye On The U. Nice work there, we like surprise guests. I am going to ask Lamar Thomas to contact you about doing the same thing...

What time in the morning can commits start signing?
Posted by: Obviouscane | February 05, 2008 at 09:20 PM
Cola, that's a good one for Manny.
I asked Blu and he said he'll be "the man" in a year.
Posted by: Cavaleer | February 05, 2008 at 09:20 PM
Gotcha on Streeter Manny, thanks man. Damn, I guess he doesn't want to compete either, who knows? We're solid at WR though, so not a huge loss.
Posted by: ColaCane | February 05, 2008 at 09:20 PM
The OL doesn't concern me that much, but do you see B.Washington and B.Jones if he commits making an impact next year?
Posted by: Cane Domination | February 05, 2008 at 09:20 PM
Q: Whats the announcement schedule tomorrow. So far I have Streeter at 9am. Anywhere can we listen to these? Posted by: Canesjunkie | February 05, 2008 at 09:10 PM
A: I'll be going to Northwestern tomorrow at 9 a.m. and will post the news as soon as I know. Blustein is going to have a ton of recruiting interviews he's going to do for WQAM tomorrow. I'll have my own set. I'll also be going to Booker T. Washington for Brandon Harris. I'm hoping to get Marcus Robinson over the phone.

obvious, 7am is the earliest a recruit is allowed to sign his LOI

Manny,
Thanks for the Q&A's ..they are great...Any chance R.Hill switches back to CB?
Posted by: Obviouscane | February 05, 2008 at 09:23 PM
Thanks for the info on Bailey (Cavaleer).

Q: Manny...as far as starters next year, are you a Coop or JJ man? McNeal or Chambers? Posted by: 86Cane | February 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM
A: I like Coop. I think he's got the gift to catch the ball out of the backfield too. He reminds me of Clinton Portis.
Posted by: Manny Navarro | February 05, 2008 at 09:23 PM
Thanks NY...
Posted by: Obviouscane | February 05, 2008 at 09:23 PM
Manny,
Will the Herald have a video link to watch the commitments live
Posted by: Mississippi Cane | February 05, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Manny,
Do you think there is too much presure put on these incoming recruits by fans? Many fans believe these kids are going to step right in and turn this team around to an ACC contender by next season, which I dont see happening. Everyone tabbed last years' recruiting class as "great" and after this past season they don't seem to be talking about the freshmen from last year. What guys from last year's class do you see making a big impact this upcoming season?
Posted by: Gibby | February 05, 2008 at 09:24 PM
How is the conditioning program going? Is there anyone who is lighting it up in workouts?
Posted by: Canesjunkie | February 05, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Streeter 9am
TJ 12pm
Jamie Harper 12:20pm
Julio Jones 12:30pm
Ramon Buchanon 1pm
Brandon Harris 1:05pm
Nick Perry 3pm

A: I think Brandon is going to The U. I'd puke too if he didn't. I absolutely love that kid. He is exactly what UM needs. He's a young Antrel Rolle. Talented as hell, smart and a born leader.

A: Harris without question has the better odds. TJ is a kid out in Tallahassee who most experts will tell you is likely to end up a Nole. Harris is in UM's backyard.
Posted by: Manny Navarro | February 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM
what about the little guys like justin feagan or george baker, even bo reliford, terrel killings, Tim Dawson, Robert sands is 6-6 why not line him up at tight end. Any of the kids waiting for UM scholarships going to get one tomorrow if things dont pan out with the hot shots?
Posted by: megacane | February 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM
Manny how many recruits are legitiment position changes? And if anything goes wrong who would be the next coach to catch the axe?
Posted by: RayChanCaneFan | February 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM
Manny,
Chances we steal Nick Perry?
Posted by: NY Miamialum | February 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM
Hey guys...Sorry. I was just talking with Vaughn Telemaque. Great kid. he will be on the show Thursday night along with Jordan Futch and C.J. Holton....

Manny, is Kenny Boyton really interested in UM or is he just creating suspense?
Posted by: RT6 | February 05, 2008 at 09:28 PM
Brandon Harris 70-30
T.J. Bryant 40-60

A: People talked about Berry being a safety coming out of high school. But I think he's talented enough to play corner. Campbell is a safety. I think Berry sees the field first.
