Darc - I heard, on QAM, Friday night after the game, that home field for yesterday's game had been determined by a coin flip. Not sure if they were serious or not - can anyone confirm this?
Posted by: DelrayCane | June 01, 2008 at 07:36 PM
Minnesota - so true...it pains me to root for FSU. On one hand, I want to see the ACC garner national respect but on the other hand; I'd rather see Tulane pull an upset so that we don't have to face FSU going forward...
Go Canes
Posted by: DelrayCane | June 01, 2008 at 07:38 PM
I heard the same thing Delray but I also heard that Miami won the flip.

Jer - I heard they won it for yesterday's game but I hadn't heard anything about today. Not really sure how that works - seems to me that home field should initially go to the team with the best record overall, then the best record for the round...
Anyway - great win today Canes! Keep it up!
Go Canes!!!

MH...
Yeah, I saw it when I was surf'n Kimbo... Thompson's history/rap is a glass jaw. From what I understand, they (The producers) are building Kimbo up and are giving him win-able matches. The TV biggies see big revenue down the road.
Questionable referee...???
Three things I noticed...
During the match he lets Kimbo up, the first time, saying "To pick-up the pace". Normally, they let them graffle awhile, to wear the other one out.
Second,... after he told them to get up, He looked at Kimbo and not Thompson and asked are you OK, with real concern? Then he says, alright lets fight... WTF is that?
Thirdly,... Later in round 2, Kimbo was getting pounded for about 2 minutes and about 50 blows to the head later.
Round 3.. You could tell Kimbo was tired and only had a few shots left before he clocked Thompson with a couple of good hits,... which definitely rocked him but he was still standing, when the ref rushed in and cancelled the fight... way too soon! Thompson, after realizing that the fight was called, pushed at the ref and said "WTF did you do that for" and was pissed, as he couldn't believe what just happened.
Later, looking at him after several reviews, you could see his eyes and they were crossed but he was alert enough to know that he just got screwed.
Me thinks, There is allot of big money riding on Kimbo's future and some of it, with or without his knowledge, might be paving the way.
Don't get me wrong, I like him and want to see him rise to the top, but on his own terms and not somebody elses.
KIMBO! KIMBO! KIMBO!
PS... With all of the recent fame, it appears he is doing very well from coming from the bloody streets to the big time, as he sold his modest home in Perrine/Cutler Bay and purchased another home in Pinecrest... and moving just a few numbers up on the ZIP code rating, if you know what I mean.

ACC 3 SEC 1
Posted by: MinnesotaCane4Life | June 01, 2008 at 10:18 PM
I guess the SEC is that good, 1 out of 9 aint that bad! HAHA Those ESPN announcers know so much, they really thought the SEC was a great conference. ACC Domination! Lets go GT and FSU, but if FSU wins hopefully we dont get paired with them for the Super Regional.
Posted by: NavyCane4Life | June 01, 2008 at 10:28 PM
No one ever mentioned anything about a blade. He could have been circumsizing boys with his teeth.

That's because ESPN has a love affair with the SEC, and they are going to have an illegitimate child, Stupid Uneducated Comments. If its a boy, tebow will do the cutting

So I guess we play Arizona, they won their Regional. I think we should handle them pretty easily. PAC-10 Conference is a joke too.

That really stinks that if GT wins they will have to play NCSU. I wanted a chance at 5 ACC teams at the CWS.
Posted by: NavyCane4Life | June 01, 2008 at 10:57 PM
I think the record is 4 teams from the same conference.

This weekend was absolutely great, even though the heat and the umps made it difficult at times; we still overcame and earned our way into the Supers. Congrats to the Team and especially Ryan Jackson on being named this Regional’s MVP. He definitely turned his game up a notch this weekend. This team is on a mission and nothing less than #6 will do. Shout out to Cat5 for the sticker, Cane82, Carlos, and Jer! Aqua and our club of muggers @ The Titanic hope to see U next weekend!

Other than the fake pick-off. My favorite would be beating Roger Clemens and Texas 2-1 in the 1982 CWS. That clown used to mime shooting pistols after a strike out. To see his reputation go down the toilet with steriods, Mindy McReady and the former Mrs. John Daly is almost as good.
