What's up my fellow Canes Fans. I also live in Omaha, Nebraska and follow the Canes religiously. My favorite team to hate is the Nebraska Huskirts. Its goes both ways and love to talk smack with anyone. A lot of my friends are Skirt Fans, but they are great people. I just wrote a blog on myspace what the Canes coming to Omaha means to me. Earlier this year at the Nebraska, Creighton game I about threw down with some drunk Nebraska Fans. I bet them $100.00 that Miami would be coming to Omaha and Nebraska wasn't needless to say the punks never paid their debt. They are cowards and afraid of the U. I have already busted them out on the radio. Also if Miami wins the National Title I bought an add in the local newspaper that Says 2008 National Champs. And #1 Canes Fan in Nebraska!

Jer

micheal, what's your myspace? I'll give some props on it!!!

Jer

i tried to show you respect on your myspace. seriously I'm still here. Go Omaha! and Go Canes!

Brian Foley, the Editor of nationally recognized "College Baseball Blog" will be participating in LIVE chats here on The Space leading up to the CWS on Friday, June 13 and also following the weekend action on Monday, June 16 at 9 PM both days.

Just an FYI, after we beat UGA we'll be playing at 7 PM Monday.... which means Brian can help with the play by play, if he wants

To all, concerning Gas prices...
Have just sent complaint to Nader suggesting something must be done and believe forcing Government to get involved to create and design a retrofit carburetor/fuel injector that gets 100 mile to the gallon usage. Have been searching past patents (over 900 since early 1900's) and some worked very well before being bought up by big oil and car mfr's.
Another interesting point, is that the oil companies added additives to the gas (after a couple of successful patents were introduced back in the 70's) that clogged up the new patented carburetors or made the engines run lean(hot)... burning up the engines!
We, the people, need to force the oil companies to clean up the gas being sold to us!...
I'm so pissed, I'm ready to vote Nader and say screw it.

Cat5 Cane

If our cars got 60 miles to the gallon... there is no crisis... there is no dependency to the arabic countries!
Current average is something like 14 MPG.

Esteban

Cat5, there are youtube videos on how to switch over your car to run on mostly water. i have read articles about guys who won most miles per gallon competitions and they had their cars running on water. tons of technology out there that has been suppressed by big oil.

Esteban

and honestly thats what big oil is supposed to do since publicly traded corporations are supposed to be all about profits.

Cat5 Cane

Be aware that a new company... PCCI or something like that was advertising (In car mags (Jan,Feb,,March 08.) 100 MPG retrofit catalytic converters kits... after searching... they have several problems and to beware!

Matt Drudge

Este, do you recall any of the physics behind this supposed "water" vehicles? Hydrocarbons have high energy density and that's why they work so well.

I am sure if any of this water stuff was successful, the car manufacturers are going to adapt them in spite of what the oil companies might say.

Cat5 Cane

Note ... Nader is running again for Pres... and I sent my letter to his comments... running platform section. If he can't win, maybe he can cause a stir-up in Washington!

Cat5 Cane

Yeah, maybe in 5 years but they want to sell their electric cars first for $40K and up...
Need retrofits for existing cars/trucks now, not in 5 years... and the science is out there, it's a matter of just doing it!

Cane Since 1982

Nice right up 86. Cant wait till 7 O'Clock Saturday. It's time to euthanize (however spelled) the dogs in the pound.

Esteban

i don't want all the car companies switching to any technology. have some switch or make available a fuel cell car, another a hydrogen car, another an electric car. i want options.

Cat5 Cane

The problem with electric car... If they brake down... your screwed. if terrorisum attacks electric stations... your screwed. Well as a matter of fact we're screwed now, so whats the difference,...right? LOL

Attention to all... Step-up,Step-up! Have great bikes for sale, see Wanda in tent #5!

Gotta Go! see-ya.

Esteban

Matt, I recall zero physics of any sort. But seriously, i can't remember clear enough for it to make sense coming from me. But hit up youtube or just google it and i'm sure you'll probably come across what i saw/read. if i get a chance to just sit and look it up later i will post a link or two.

vince

These gas prices are crazy, between driving back and forth to work and coaching my sons travel baseball team I am filling my tank up every 4 days at $50.00 a tank. I drive a freakin PT Cruiser and I am going broke putting gas in it. Canes go to Omaha and take all of our minds off of gas and bring home the trophy!

Looks like Jon Bostic, LB from Palm Beach Central High in Wellington took an unofficial to UM yesterday. Anybody have the low low from rivals ?

Also mentioned 2 signees still trying to qualify with their last test in 3 days. B. washington was pictured and assume Ben Jones was the other. I was hoping B-Wash was in since they assigned him a # but I guess not yet.

They should be studying like Rodney Dangerfield in that 80's flick!

1982: Don't believe your eyes
Hidden-ball trick, huh? What the Miami Hurricanes pulled off in the 1982 CWS make tales of any other on-field hijinks disappear.

Miami was facing Wichita State with a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning. Shockers speedster Phil Stephenson was on first base. Pitcher Mike Kasprzak stepped off the rubber and fired a pickoff throw -- or so it seemed.

First baseman Steve Lusby lunged over Stephenson, while second baseman Mitch Seaone and right fielder Mickey Williams scampered frantically down the right-field line into the bullpen, where two Miami relievers -- and a even few Hurricanes ballgirls -- jumped out of the way.

But there was no ball to elude.

When Stephenson took off for second, he was a dead duck. The ball still in his glove, Kasprzak threw calmly to shortstop Billy Wrona, who tagged out Stephenson to kill the rally. The Hurricanes went on to win the game, 4-3 -- as well as the championship days later.

The perfectly orchestrated ruse -- known since as "The Grand Illusion" -- instantly became college baseball's most famous play, a precursor to the wild Stanford-Cal kickoff return five months later. Perhaps it would be called a balk today because the ballgirls were conspirators. Call it what you want, but call The Grand Illusion a classic.

I thought Holton the safety might have been the other with entrance issues. With the eight EEs we can take 'em all if they can qualify. If not they have to go to Hargraves or somewhere like that.

We had LeSean McCoy as a commit, he went to Hargraves and got beat out by Graig Cooper and then decided to go to Pitt.

slim32

If they dont want to compete let them go wherever. I dont care who they are. I got so sick of non performing players keeping their spots under coker. It was riduiculous.

Esteban

imagine if McCoy had signed with us again?

RayChanCanesFan

He'd be still sitting behind Cooper...There is a reason he was in the 1st place we don't know the specifics but I'm sure whatever it was it would still be the thing that has him behind Coop at the U...Most likely scared of competition..ie..NON of that at Pitt..

Canes!

Ummm...Can someone tell those 2 chicks that they are too cute to be with that fat guy?

DZ8

But did you see "that fat guy" flexing his muscles?

SOUP

Canes!...the picture does not do them justice, they were smokin' hot. The Light is a great place to people watch as well as see a quality product ON the field.

GO CANES, BEAT THE DAWGS!!!

SOUP

OK, on the whole gas prices/water versus oil debate...interesting stuff but not really sports related or UM relevant.

To discuss these issues your should go to www.politico.com and debate your life away.

Thank U!

SOUP

Plus, in case U haven't noticed we and several other states are in a severe DROUGHT and we have LESS water than oil!

There will be a war over water in the next 20-30 years. End of arguement...

Cat5 Cane our best change to get these gas prices down is with Obama. I used to like Mc Cain until he started to act like a typical Bush republican. Mc Cain offers more of the same Nader can't win. Vote Obama and change washington

Is Olivier Vernon still solid. I heard that he was thinking about going to Redneck country for a visit

We will know in February 2009! The guys at the Miami Herald say that he is a MUST get for the Canes next year. Say he could be the next Jason Taylor type but with more bulk.

slim32

All i hear is Change .... CHANGE WHAT.

Any of the plans that he proposes arn't even possible.

" I've got a tax plan where only 5% pay higher taxes" yah OK

McCain's a democrat in disguise (not even) If your a libral you had three candidates this election. Hill, Boma & McCain.

slim32

Drill & Refine the Oil that this country has. Use our national resorces instead of the white fu*&ing owl. China's drilling right off the florida coast.

In the 70's when gas was a .25-50 cents a gallon the rest of the world was riding bikes not driving cars. We compete on a world market. China buys the most , they get the best price. When we were the biggest consumer we got the best price.

DZ8

Vernon has Saban whispering in his ear, " You like Jason Taylor. I coached JT to a Defensive MVP season. I can make YOU, the next Jason Taylor."

I'm more worried about 'bama then the gutters getting Olivier Vernon.

nycanes25

Are the Canes ever going to recruit some JC kids again? There are so some serious gaps in the roster and it could definitely use the immediate help on the Oline and DE for example. I hope they sign a couple of JC linemen who can step in right away instead of counting on High School kids.

86, other topics fill the space in between football.

The last time the U had a dominant freshman pitcher like Hernandez was Alex Fernandez who transferred from the U to Miami Dade South to make himself draft eligible a year earlier!

Sorry I don't like to get into political debates but this comment proofs the ignorance of the American public.

Now For the Truth:

Obama proposes a windfall tax on the Big Oil companies. Who do you think these profit margin reducing taxes will be passed on too. You got it the American public. Bama man proposes cut taxes on middle and low class, but raise taxes on big oil who will pass the burden onto consumers. Who does this hurt most. You got it again the middle and lower classes because the rich could care less about $5 a gallon gas. Currently only 9% of the money you pay for gas goes to the oil companies profits. Currently 15% goes to the goverment. Know your facts before posting ignorant info.

nycanes25

Plus, most people 401 k's are tied into oil stocks. They go down their goes your retirement.

RIGHT POWER! RIGHT POWER!

Haha, ahhhh politics.

Can't we speculate on what our '09 recruits ate for lunch and how it'll affect their 40 times instead?

Wait, did I just say that?

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Jack McClinton earned MVP honors at the Chris Paul Backcourt Skills Camp last weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C.

McClinton was one of 17 college players at the camp, which also featured a number of top high school players aw well.

At the final ceremony, Chris Paul presented McClinton with the honor based on his play and how hard he worked.

"It was a great feeling because I have worked so hard to get where I am at right now and I'm not going to stop," McClinton said. "Just to hear that from the one of the best point guards in the league is a great feeling."
