Your University of Miami Hurricanes will leave the comfortable confines of Mark Light Stadium tomorrow to travel to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The team will begin preparations in their "The Drive For Five" in Bellevue, Nebraska outside of Omaha.
Well, lovely little Bellevue just so happens to be three miles from ground zero. Ground Zero is where original ten Canespacer HurricaneMitch (seen at left with UM President Donna Shalala) happens to reside and where all Canespacers are welcome to crash and play during the CWS. Mitch will be covering the CWS for Canespace and we think that should produce some memorable moments and photos for the blog!
And, if you needed more inside news that that, Canespace would like to announce that Brian Foley, the Editor of nationally recognized "College Baseball Blog" will be participating in LIVE chats here on The Space leading up to the CWS on Friday, June 13 and also following the weekend action on Monday, June 16 at 9 PM both days. HurricaneMitch (seen here with Coach Shannon) will be hosting these LIVE chats from Omaha so post your questions, get your answers!
Nobody beats Canespace for hardball coverage in the 305 or anywhere for that matter. If you are a Canes Diamond Dog like JC, Mephistopheles, Monty, MattinNY, Loco, Six, Canechic, Jer, 1982, Cat5 and Ocala or the Kendall Boys then U know there is no place else to be for UM baseball coverage!
Oh, and BTW, for U hard core football fans, Canespace will be running an exclusive interview in a three part series with UM all-time great and Hurricane legend, Lamar Thomas coming soon. Now THAT should get U through the Summer, U think?
GO CANES, GO CANESPACE!!! More pics from the Super Regional:

Busy_Cane - you're talking about Chipper Jones .. either that or you're talking about Alex Rodriguez who is going to break the home run record before he is done. Ya, Chipper has the best batting average so far .. but Lance Berkman is a legit triple crown threat right now. I remember Chipper in high school and American Legion ball during the summer talking about the 'Canes.
If you want to look at something stats wise in MLB, look at who is tied for 3rd and 4th for home runs in the National League - Ryan Braun (17) and Pat Burrell (16).

Haven't I been pounding this statement onto Canespace for the past few weeks - during the ACC Tournament/Regionals/Super Regionals of how the 'Canes mentality should be? ....
(Chris Hernandez from the ESPN article): "I APPROACH EVERYTHING PITCH BY PITCH. I don't try to look ahead or look in the past."
Damn, has he been reading Canespace?
