On the Road at TAMU: Canespace will once again be "on the road" this week as we bring you first-hand, on-site coverage of the Miami-Texas A&M game from College Station. MiamiMike01, who developed our Canespace MySpace page, and his father, old skool Hurricane RandyCane, will be attending the game and reporting via words and photos all of the weekend's events. MM01 will be at the UMAA pre-game party with UM President Donna Shalala, UM AD Kirby Hocutt, UMAA president Jackie Nesperal (NBC6 Anchor in Miami), the UM cheerleaders, band and other Canes fans.
Live Chats: The hardest working man in sports writing, Manny Navarro from the Miami Herald, will be holding his regular weekly LIVE chat at the Eye On The U blog sometime between 1 PM and 3 PM. Log on, log in and get the news U can use from "The Mandingo" who leaves no scrap of information left unturned. Manny will also try to stop by The Space to answer your questions LIVE on Wednesday or Thursday between 4-6 PM after UM practice if time allows.
Hotel Reservations: If you haven't made your reservations at The Hampton Inn-Plantation yet, you need to get off the couch and on your feet to get this done! The Hampton Inn, which is located in lovely Plantation Florida, is not only the TOP RATED Hampton in the State but is also conveniently located 20 minutes from the stadium, next door to the Broward Mall and surrounded by top notch restaurants. Join me and other Canespacers at the #1 location in all of South Florida for tailgating, Canespace T-shirts and most of all EXCELLENT accommodations.
Calling all bloggers: We know that between 5,000 and 7,000 bloggers log into Canespace on a consistent, regular and daily basis. Yet, only 500 to 700 bloggers regularly post comments. We are on a mission to increase the percentage of bloggers that post comments and get involved in the community known as Canespace. If you are a reader ONLY we invite you to post your comments on the blog. If you have any difficulty figuring out how to do that, please email me at host@canespace.com for assistance.

"To take a quote from the THE ART OF WAR
A army of deer lead by a lion is to be more feared than a army of lions lead by a deer
RS can recruit but when it came down to gameday he is a DEER, 8 man fronts and you just keep running into them, all we heard was the batch of wr was lightin' up all practice and you don't even uuse them and to say that are strength is the running game is BS, PASSING is are strength because if the running depends on a overrated unprovern James at RB
AJUST THE OFFENSE AROUND THE TALENT"

Someone, please, answer this, please, tell me:
Why do people post things, like un-truths, on a blog, and don't even make a teenage effort in selling it. I mean "The Art of War" didn't come out yesterday. I mean did you ever consider that educators do read the Blog too. Wouldn't it have been easier to use a made up Book Title if you are going post an untruth, in the attempt to give your untruth soom credability. I mean other people do read well (world wide) known books.
dawgmeatcane, No offense. I don't know and maybe I am wrong, but I don't remember seeing that quote of yours in that book.

hey space what up? so regarding this weeks' upcoming game- which agricultural and mechanical qb do you feel will make more plays? mcgee obviously has more experience, but personally im more worried about johnson, due to his playmaking ability on the ground as well as his arm. im sure young will have specific plans for both, but im more concerned with our lbs defending qb rollouts that turn into runs than with our secondary.

midwestcane, it might depend on which edition of the book that you have, talking about the Art of War. Who translated the book, the quote actually sounds like something that could be in some translations. I am no expert on the book, by any means.

Randy Shannon is HURRICANE Football Past, Present, and Future.
Looking at his face when he met meyer at mid field made me know I was looking at the HEART and SOUL of HURRICANE Football.
Don't hate cause one day he'll be the greatest coach the CANES ever had and your hate will be documented in the Archives!
Also as a hunter 15 seconds in a locked room with a deer of any size and you will be begging for relief...
Posted by: NativeCane | September 15, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Hilltopper...now U gotta name a shows-topper for TAMU:
a. Cooper
b. Epps
c. Johnson
d. Collier
e. Shields
f. Hankerson

Posted by: dlu | September 15, 2008 at 08:57 PM
haha well I am still think we ride Coop to victory....as much as I want us to open it up a little in the air. I hope I can answer saturday night and say Johnson emerged or Hank hung 100 receiving yards on the aggies, but I have to just stay with Coop
Although on a side note I really hope James gets better cuz I thought he was gonna have a great year. Can't wait to see him run all over the ACC!!
Posted by: HilltopperCANE | September 15, 2008 at 08:58 PM
that's right, delaware!! I'm 302 screamin' that 305!! (well not the marlins or heat so much)

sorry if i only blog once in a while 86,busy guy here...also relocated in cali.so,i'm readin when u guys are snoozin.
Couple things i noticed this week:
USC is really good and really deep
The rest of the Pacless 10 pretty much stunk it up and are as bad if not worse than the ACC...
The ACC might not be as bad as everybody thinks and by year's end when all of the team's younguns have grown up, especially the QB's,it will be a force to be reckoned with.
Finally, i can't wait to see what our offense will do this saturday and i hope for Nix's sake he opens things up more and more as the weeks go by or we may be lookin at a new OC...just a hunch, not callin ofr him to be fired, just an observation-put up or shut up as they say.
You guys stay classy...
P.S. Why does jime rome have a show? that is one guy that has a serious hate for the U,wish espn would fire the deuche.

MidWest, I think Dawg just wants to see Hurricane Football again, like all of Us.
Posted by: Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer | September 15, 2008 at 09:00 PM
Nix got this year to prove himself. I hate to say it Shannon got this until next year to show me that he is what I think he is " a great coach".

"MidWest, I think Dawg just wants to see Hurricane Football again, like all of Us.

Maybe your right CP, maybe your right.
Posted by: MidWestCane | September 15, 2008 at 09:04 PM
OK, OK...please explain this to me:
Terrell Owens.
Everybody nows he's gonna get the ball.
Yet he still gets open deep and scores?
How does that happen? Why can't the Canes do that?
Posted by: SOUP | September 15, 2008 at 09:04 PM
HillTopper, don't give up on Shields and Kayne. I think we're overreacting after two games ladies and gents. Also, I think the absence of real playmakers and playcalling for the last five years has us all antsy.
I'll predict Cooper, Shields, Epps, Hankerson, Kayne and one of the freshmen, probably Benjamin or Collier, to have solid performances Saturday as we roll over A&M again.
Marve breaks out. Jacory has a drive for a TD as well.
Posted by: Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer | September 15, 2008 at 09:04 PM
True Cane, Shannon's got a few years to prove he's great. 2010 is the year we'll really see what happens with kids under his system. We'll make a strong push for a NC next year and depending on the competition, we could win it.
But we won't really see serious Hurricane Football on both sides until 2010. That's basically 3 recruiting classes.
Posted by: Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer | September 15, 2008 at 09:07 PM
you guys have a little more fun in here than some of the other blogs. yall are like the internet Goodfellas. "as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a blogger."

Chi-pun...if the Canes are gonna lose one more game according to your 10-2 prediction, who do they lose to?
Posted by: SOUP | September 15, 2008 at 09:10 PM
you are right CPC (what exactly do you go by?)....I love Kayne and hope he breaks out. And shields has all the talent in the world, just seems like he's in the dog house. But I have faith in Nix and hope we get a chance to air it out a little on saturday.
Really with all these young receivers, we just need to get them some reps. I mean they've had two games in college!! So we need to just give all the young guys some time.
