Fantasy I am on my game, really I am working on 3 different assignments today and canespace is my relief!

SuperCooper

Found this on another site, good stuff:

"Was out at the Grove last nite.

Damien Berry, Josh Holmes, Joe Joseph, Vaughn Telemaque, Brandon Harris, DeMarcus Van Dyke, Marcus Forston, CJ Holton, Davon Johnson, Taylor Cook all at the Grove last night hanging with a potential late addition to the roster that I was told by my buddy is being kept under lock and key until its official. Yall are gonna get excited for this if it goes thru.

BTW....what a difference a year makes. These kids are all huge. They look massive. The weight training has done them well. Harris, DVD, Johnson, Maque are all very well filled out. Harris and Maque are extremely thick this year and look like they can take a beating.

Big Boom isnt a ball of mass anymore. He looks slim and strong. All the baby fat is gone.

Only soft looking guys where Joe Joseph (just really big and soft) and Taylor Cook (needs alot of work, skinny and awkward.)

My expectations went up some after seeing how much more physically prepared the players look this year."

I hope that late signee is Daniel Campbell, can never have enough OL.

SuperCooper

And it is a great sign that these guys are getting bigger. Whatever Swasey is doing now, it is working.

supercoop, swasey is not doing to much different if at all, we just got guys on the team now who want it more and got more inner drive than a majority of the last set of so called athletes who've been allowed to come thru here.

I think my rating system was fair and realistic. This is a good football team we have this year. It is better talent wise than any team in the ACC with the exception of maybe FSU. This isnt the 2001 team by any means but the talent is up from the last few years. Jacory will shine.. Freshman running backs will step up like JJ and Cooper did their freshman year. Wr are the best in the country. FB-Hill runs through people like a truck. TE will be fine no matter what. Last year I wasnt aware we had tightends on are football team bc Nix never called any plays for them... So I am sure Whipple will be able to use them somehow and it will be an upgrade. OL is good not great but will be fine as long as they give Jacory enough time. Defense Line is stacked with talent not experience but the potential is there. Linebackers I think by the end of the year will be the best Linebacking crew in the country. SPENCE, SHARPTON, McCarthy!!(sorry to much koolaid).. DB is a questionmark but we have talent and I want to believe that they can get the job done, and Safeties will tear other teams apart. Ray and Tel will be like Reed and Taylor!!!(Slurp!!! just enjoying my red drink) Ladies and Gentlemen get ready for one hell of a season by your canes. I see us winning every game except the Oklahoma and FSU game.

Just Manny trying to stir things up. We got it covered. Go over there are read it.

Canes baseball took 2 of 3 from FSWho.

Congrats on your baby! That's what matters most!!!

Cat5Cane

First... Soup... Suggest to add Author's name to each article written, even if it is by you.

Who ever wrote it... Cheers... as it was well crafted and had grit and truth woven between the lines.

The truth is we are coming from ashes and it takes time to build a dynasty team... pawn by pawn, knight by knight and rook by rook... each component is a key position until the house is is built, where there are no weaknesses... Then and only then are we ready to dominate again!!! The time is near... One year to grow and one more year to fill our needs and to take command in 2010 and 11.

Miami will never be a place for everyone... Ya win a few and ya lose a few but the keepers are players like Futch, who's heart pounds a Canes beat!

I'll take one Futch for 10 wannabes any day...

Cat5

SOUP

321...thanks! U get your shot at it Monday night.

SebastianDaIbis

What about Dior Mathis..I was told he has DAU high on his list and ive seen his 40 times and they are fast..but ive never seen any game film..Any truth to that or just chatter??

Cat5Cane

Solar... "not snort it dry right out of the box" HO,HO,HO,HO...

LUC - "They (Miami) have always been my dream and Miami is all I really know. I went to a recent Miami (spring) practice and it was intense. I love the way the defense communicates and I like the coaching staff. They seem like one big family"

Brown, Patcham, Johnson have screwed me up. I do not believe nor trust anything that comes out of these kids mouths.

Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer

Fantasy, lol, yeah these kids can be full of cacka. But Luc seems like a straight shooter primarily because he hasn't committed and said he's looking around. You have to respect that.

I agree with you about VT and RR. By their junior years they'll probably be the greatest SS duo in the history of college football. (Solar that was for you. ;-)

But the rest of your grades are very unpredictable simply because we have so much unproven talent at critical positions.

We have a lot of strides to make between now and Labor Day. Fortunately, we have a bunch of players who truly want to make those strides and most important CAN make those strides.

I think we beat FSU though.

Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer

Super, I assume Big Boom is Forston. Not good to hear about Joseph but he's one of the last Cokerites.

I think what that eye-witness account tells us is that the vast majority of the Coker kids were really not serious football players mentally or physically. Other than a few SoFl ballers, Coker recruited kids who would have never been offered in the past.

Joseph has made some strides though but physically he just doesn't have it.

SO IN THE END IT AIN'T SWASEY, BOYS AND GIRLS. hahaha

I hope the new baller is a CB personally but that's not likely, so I'll go with Esteban's OL wish. If FSU's OL coach can whip a bunch of fresh and soph's into shape, why can't Stoutland do the same with B. Jones, Wash, Johnson and whoever else is coming in?

Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer

cav, for about our defense in 08 had several games where we started to look close to a normal Canes defense, and i'm only counting real games. Everybody know and saw the gator game for 3 & 1/2 quarters our defense made lee corso come down from the booth. Than against, v-tech, wake, texas a&m and several parts of the virginia game you could see where the talent on defense is about to take off. With that being said, i think this year, we'll began to, uh oh, wait a minute, this will be our 2nd year without glenn cook putting guys in the right positions. But never fear, these are the real baby Canes who stay in their playbook year round and make/force new coordinators to put eveything in their playbook in a whole lot sooner than they thought.

Gone are the days where 1 man on defense is relied upon to have to put everybody in position, we're about to have several guys on defense who know where everybody should be. If sharpton is as sharp as they say he is, than he should be able to make a lot of sharp defensive calls. That's going to determine how we look on defense too, and if authur brown is lost making reads and calls, no need to be the starter, but athletically, he's got what it takes to be a force, what i like about authur though is when he gets his hands on people, they go down. he knos what to do when he gets their.

The longer he hangs around the guys from the 305 his football I.Q. will go up.

Calvin, they did have some strong moments. I think the GT and Cal games just left some very bad tastes in people's mouths. Then again, Young called a horrible game against GT.

But you made a huge point about the difference having almost an entire defense full of leaders makes. ALL those cats will be holding each other accountable for knowing their shyt. And very true about AB's improvement. I recall his father saying he's a perfectionist, so let the man have his time. I'm predicting he'll grow into one of our best. He's just behind the curve because of where he played HS ball, and now he's in a very demanding, new position.

Personally, I want Sharpton and C-Mac to step up and redeem the last of the Cokerites. They're probably two of the most talented he brought in. It's time to man up and earn that U on the helmet.

Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer

Soup, nice, diplomatic way to say Manny's becoming a tabloid FIU supporter. haha

Chinese Punisher aka Cavaleer

321, that is great news.

JCane

Just got back a few minutes ago. Unfortunately it looks like game two was a different story for Canes' bats. A few timely errors on Clemson's D didn't hurt in game one either. We'll see how the rubber match works out later today.

BTW, I saw on the ESPN recruiting site that G. Bernard, the RB of Aquinas, named his top 3: OU, the 'turds, and FSU.

G'night all.

Canefantasy

I think JJ and CMac have earned the U on their helmets. It sucks that these players are pleagued by injuries. Its not that they are soft or bad.. Its that they lay their bodies on the line for the team and get hurt. I hope that they stay away from the injury bug, and finish with a strong senior campaign. Followed by a renewal of 1st round Canes since the streak will end this year. Start it back up for the next 14 years. I love that history seems to always repeat itself.

Canefantasy

Chi, U started this optomism in me. I was being pesimistic a couple a weeks ago.. now I feel like I caught some contagious virus and it has spread all over my body. I have turned a 180, and I feel great about the hurricane chances of winning in 09,10,11 and for the next 25years....

solarcane

"I agree with you about VT and RR. By their junior years they'll probably be the greatest SS duo in the history of college football. (Solar that was for you. ;-)"

Chi,

Add in SOUP's can't miss hall of famer JII and there are three of the best players in college football history all playing together on probably a team that would beat the 2001 team by what 14-20 points every game....
I thought I'd just take a diabetes coma induced shot of kool aid while I was hanging with you guys

peace
