Monty, you got that right. OSU is way before FSU in the despise column. I don't even dislike FSU. UF, these days, I dislike, head to toe.

Nahh, ND doesn't feel or even think they're above anything but .500 lol

The game has passed them by and they made a colossal series of HC mistakes.

Kragthrope, without a doubt. He's the only one on that list who inherited a winning, almost dominant program, and has done a dam good impersonation of one Larry Coker since he took over. The only difference between him and Coker is that Coker was at The U and had talent to shield his incompetence for a few years.

Kragthorpe doesn't have that luxury. He's clearly over his head. He should've stayed at Tulsa. lol

Fantasy, that's a great, comical story! Keep rockin...(literally) ;-)

86 - I'll have to check the mail for the shirts

Big day tomorrow, the Rays start their season up in Boston. Tonight was a menage-a-fun for me ... with the Canes taking the series from the Noles, the MLB season finally starting again and me finding out that Flamin Hot Cheetos are pretty much the greatest chips I've ever eaten.

Six... Your coverage of the game was great! Came in late to catch up on the play by play and WOW... I was blown away by your pro status... Good stuff

***NCAA 10 Update***

Its nearing that time, when the HYPE hits us for the new EA Sports NCAA 10 video game. Here are some early shots of Jake Wieclaw and Ryan Hill. Very early builds and I'm sure the skin tone of Ryan Hill will be changed before the game goes gold.

Haha hope that pre-med student either isnt in orgo or has heller and not colona...

What, the gators and notre shame are on the same level, they both took us off their schedule because they're cowards, they both think they are actually the best teams in the nation, the gators finally actually got 2 championships to at least have something to say now, before that, they were disgusting to talk too, and now, they are still disgusting to talk too. Also correction, the gators didn't beat us last year, they beat patrick (got no balls)nix.

Fsu, is just a team that when we play them, it's beat down time, but after that we always respected them because they we're the only team that played as tuff as us for years, as long as they wasn't playing us i rooted for them.

One thing i know for sure though is this, we will be able to score points, simply because throwing to the flats opens up the middle of the field, something that hasn't been done around here for a while now!

Loco...U need to chat with Canechic and Nicole about what classes to take, and which one's to avoid at The U.

U both should exchange email addys ASAP!

cav, good point about oliver vernon, and what he said about he didn't come in to redshirt, but just think, da machine a.k.a. dyron dye is coming in feeling the same way too. Although as of right now, at defensive end, somebody is going to get redshirted, so the competition is not to get redshirted, but we'll see. It won't do the program any good though to not start using redshirts at certain positions at this point. Well actually the only 2 positions we can actually look at using redshirts right now are d-line and receiver.

It's funny how they trying to put and say shannon is on the hotseat, lol, unless they mean hotseat as in, he has the program heated up in the right direction, i can understand it now. The way he's got everybody putting in extra effort to support UM right now is at an all time high from alumni, and they talking hotseat, and than throw in the schedule we about to blaze through this year, with a team full of guys who not waiting to be great, but are actually practicing to be great everyday, it doesn't matter what teams are on our schedule, these schedules are how Real CANES get their thrill on.

Serioulsy, who wants to play charleston southern again, i'm looking forward to this schedule, and now, these are the real Hurricane teams where you bring in irvin to give the pre-game speech, because the team shannon has now will make pregame speeches mean something from here on out. oliver vernon like laron byrd are what true competitors are made of, they came in anyway, inspite of their positions being a lil bit loaded, lol. Now look at byrd, will probably be starting this year, vernon, if he beats out moncur, ojomo, robinson or smith, that's saying something right their. dyrone dye, we'll see how he does against the run, for some reason i keep thinking he's to skinny right now, but than again, he's already around 220 right now, so he'll put the weight on for sure.

Quiet as kept andrew smith is no slouch either, but we got a boat load of talent in the making on the d-line. I'm not really caring much about recruiting because shannon, hurtt & bell and company got it under control, although i do not want jeff luc going nowhere else, would be sweet to get joyner to, he's hoping he gets a lil taller, because i don't care how good u are, 5'8 is 5'8. and for a db, you're going to have to be extra great to get the job done.

SOUP

Calvin...wait until you here what Manny Navarro and Gary Ferman have to say about Whipple, the new offense and the impact it will have on the team this year!

They answered the FIVE questions from bloggers here and those features will post Tuesday and Thursday nights here on the blob this week.

Calvin...what about Dye at TE? Vernon could play there too.

Good morning, spacers- six, no game in Bos. today, Sox-Rays now set for 4:00 p.m. EDT tomorrow.

Cat5 - thanks brah, I was trying to fit as much info in as I could.

Cane Since 1982, JCane, etc. help everyone out that can't hear/see the game when they cover the play-by-play .... it's appreciated heavily, believe me.

I've been on the road before for work during a Canes baseball game, while driving back I've checked in on here about the game and Cane Since 1982, JCane, etc. are like a machine in posting it and keeping me sane until I can get back to see the game or hear it on an audio link.

j.w. - ya, I got a call about that earlier and that abso-f'in-lutely sucks.

I was pumped about it. At least it probably gives some of the guys some more time to sleep off their hangovers from last night.

I wonder how many people up in Bahhh-stan took the day off or called in sick this morning, ha.

I saw that it's 41 degrees up there right now. I've got the weather for the Rays games right here ...

You know BG I have bought NCAA every year but since it went on to the xbox360/ps3 I just don't like it as much. I still play NCAA 07 for the original xbox.

j.w.

six, my bet is half of New England planned to take this day off! When I talked to my dad last night he knew that it was almost certain to be rained out, though, so he decided to take Tuesday off instead. Since it's a 1:00 p.m. pacific start tomorrow I might be able to take off after lunch here and get home in time to see it as well.

Six

86 - I am going to check my mail on my way to work, I'll call you and leave a voicemail in about 1 hour.

It will be a 386 number, no longer a 941 number. Switched from Verizon to AT&T Family Plan and will be saving about $40 a month in doing so. That's $40 of monthly bill cash to be used for other bills.

Canefane3.

I enjoy the next gen games so much more. NCAA 08 started the ball rolling, but NCAA 09 (post patch) honestly has been the BOMB! I hope NCAA 10 just improves and adds new features to what was a great, great effort with NCAA 09. If you read my review of NCAA 09, understand that was before the 2 patches that came out shortly thereafter. Post Patch, NCAA 09 I'd say is the as close to NCAA 2004 (best NCAA of all time to me) as you'll get and most definitely the best next-gen NCAA ever.

canechic, I took my daughter to a UM Open House this year and she just loved the presentation and tour of the campus. She is thoroughly brainwashed. :P

Some interesting reading from down here in God's Country. I especially enjoy the last statement. Hate the 'Horns but love the attitude.

Mike Martin's Ghost

I am shocked that here, in the most cane-centric place in blogville, there was not ONE mention of Martin finally shaking hands with Morris.

After all this time where Martin claimed that he could not shake hands with Morris due to his religion, and using other blogs like Open Mike (Bianchi) to justify it, it took not a riot in Tally by his loyal but racist fans, (he stayed stubborn for that) but a public shaming by ESPN (the usually anti-UM ESPN at that) to finally get him to shake hands again.

Maybe the NCAA told him that with all their sanctions for CHEATING that he should recall that only he that is without sin could cast the first stone.

Oh well, at least Florida Today (a Nole paper, apparently) noticed that Martin caved to the pressure. At least Morris was classy enough to shake it back....

Loco

Most of us didnt see it, therefore most of us didnt know

Native,

Not one of my all time favorites but I eat them a couple of times a year...usually when clients from up north come to visit and "have to try them".

Mike Martin's Ghost

No problem, just pointing it out since it hadn't been already.

8-2 marlins in the fifth.

Bonifacio 3-3 with an inside the park home run....

SOUP

12-5 Marlins, seventh inning stretch.

SOUP

MMG...inetresting, VERY interesting about Martin and Morris. 'Bout time.

j.w.

MMG- I was wondering whether he offered to shake hands, but couldn't see the game out here so had no idea. thanks for keeping us informed!

UMike

I golfed for the first time Saturday,..I scored a 138..not to bad..right?

Mephistopheles

I'm concerned about the Marlins' pitching, but this offensive line-up may be something special. Speed is always fun to watch, and it seems they will have some power left over from last year's historic team. Love the D-Love the running game. I hope the Marlins start hot so they look to add arms over the summer as they become available. (ie: Jake Peavey) At least the team appears to be on the rise as they enter their new stadium.

Calvin

soup, can't wait to see the g-14 classified material you got sitting in the hole for us. Although dyron could play tight-end for sure, i'd rather see him at defensive end causing havoc. We'll just go out and find us another tight-end or move futch their if he doesn't crack the linebacker rotation.

I was at the library earlier when i posted that's why i'm just now gettign back with yall, finally on my regular computer. This next wave of Cane greats that are coming in, they're going to be serious ballers too. It's going to be great seeing guys celebrating the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stringers again. jojo nicolas, plays hard, but he's going to have to either play great from here on out or become a teacher. Play strong or teach.

brandon harris plays physical, he got beat that 1 time in the cal game, after that, he shut em down. He plays hard like what we're use too. One of the biggest diferences shannon and company have made is, we got a whole lot of guys we can't wait to see play in real games and we can't wait to see how the guys who were freshman last year, can't wait to see them balling with even more confidence and physical maturity this year!

Their is a reason for all the excitment around this program again, shannon has kept and brought the real talent back home where it belongs.

Calvin

We gettin back to this!
