These are Jacory's stats as a TRUE FRESHMEN in the bowl game against a very underrated CAL team and he kept up in it unthil the end. Yes, he had some crucial errors - i.e. the fumble and pic, and that last drive but really this was his first start againt a D-1 oppenent in a bowl game with the whole game riding on him. Seriously though, were you worried? I wasn't, I never thought we were not in the game with him at the helm and that is seriously something we have been missing for a long time.
Those stats say a lot about my expectations for this team. Not only that but this kid going on both the offensive and defensive buses and saying TEAM this loss is on me, I'm sorry, I promise we will not let this happen again, was amazing!! A true leader and he meant every fuggin' word of it. This kid is a born winner and he expects to win next year and he trains to be great. Unlike Kyle and Kirby and Bobby Drama who expect to win, but prepare to lose, AND FOLD IN CRUNCH TIME!

Here is a cheers to my and your 2009 Hurricanes, and that Jacory stays healthy.. Chears!

Funny when we were the big cheese, had a Heisman winner, and our guys were getting busted like water balloons at a picnic everyone was calling us Thug U...

it was cause they were classless jealous azzholes as I remember hearing.

Now Florida wins a National Championship or two has a legitimate Heisman Winner,
will probably end the season number 1, 2 , or 3 has a bunch of guys arrested

and we become jealous and classless right on time.

Well everybody if you **wink wink** have issues with your FIOS I can probably get you a discount... LOL all in the name of the great Canespace HOF campaign.... J/K!

If you guys have serious questions or are looking to be set up on a great deal -Like 86 - I can hook you up with an associate that will process the best possible order for you then I will follow-up to make sure all of the nonsense costs (like set-up fee, modem charges, and pro-rated charges) are all removed.

BUT Solar - I'm not really caring about the HOF, if that happens cool. I just want to give my fullest the site that has contibuted and meant so much to me and especially my grandfather and father. I owe to my Pepa to give back to this place. It would def. mean a lot to him!

UMIKE congrats... Seems like being honest actually helped.

Can there be a bigger moron in the media world then Mike Bianchi??How that guy has a job amazes me
I will always cherish passing thru one of his shows he had with a few others from SunSports wearing all my Cane gear calling him a fat bald talentless hack..and him having security escort me out the building as I laughed each step of the way

CaneSawMassacre

Sebastian you are a GOD - Wow... Seriously.. How does he get paid to write that garbage in a newspaper.

Writers like him are why nobody gives a flying f**k about the paper anymore because it is all trash!

A knucklehead or idiot is a knucklehead or idiot no matter what team they're on

If you're out shooting AK47s in the air, shooting them into apartments, beating the crap out of the mother of your child when she is trying to leave the car and everytime she tries to scream you punch her in the face, stealing dead girl's credit cards and yelling "free gas on me", stealing other students laptops but calling it yours b/c you spray painted the top of it black and used a white marker to write your initials on it, sell weed to undercover cops, get into gang style brawls on the street .... etc. .... like the Crocs have done - you're a bunch of f***in morons.

Bianchi is a complete f***head if he thinks I'd trade arrests for titles - what kind of statement is that.

I'd say the same if a bunch of Cane players did the same as the Crocs have done the past 4 years and I'd be embarrassed they're wearing the uniform.

I thought the brawl with FIU was idiotic, esp. when you watch it and see Cane players running in and kicking FIU players who were on the ground, or swinging their helmets at them.

JCane

I guess L. Joyner has made what we all pretty much knew official, assuming anything said prior to Feb. is ever official:

"I've started to narrow it down. Basically I've narrowed it down to Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee." (per ESPN recruiting)

Georgia appears to be tearing it up in terms of pulling in verbals thus far, aside from whether Joyner is or isn't interested in UGa.

TGI@F all.

He sure did
2 Security guards walked me out to the front door under his request for what I had said. They were taping a show.
At least he turned and saw me and knew it was me that said it LOL

*This is comment I just posted on Mike's site* FUDGIN * Chump, I tried to be respectful unlike most fans who post on UM sits, but what do I know about anything... Let me know what you guys think.

Mike I'm going to try and write this whole comment without being degrading and disrespectful to you, though I wish I wasn't such a nice person; the homerism that you spout out about your beeee-love-eeed Florida Gators is ridiculous. You some how rationalize there off the field issues by saying that UM and FSU would trade wins for more arrests, you include UM's "old thug " image in all comparison articles and you constantly "slurp" on the Gators.

This is point blank. Urban and has let his players behave "out of control". There is no reason that 27 ( AND YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE REAL NUMBER BECAUSE MANY, MANY INCIDENTS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CITED WERE NOT BY GAINSEVILLE POLICE) incidents should happen within a 4 year period at any football program. The fact that the media justified it because some were not his recruits, not all were serious crimes, some were dropped... I mean this is all crazy.. Then you run a story on the lawyer who handles these cases, who actually is quoted as saying he does some "pro-bono" but you cite in the article all lawyer fees most be paid for like a regular person and no favors can be done!!!!!!11

Are you serious! The lawyer has a photo of Tim Tebow and his daughter signed by Urban and it says thank for being part of the team..

Harvin was a headcase in high school but all of a sudden was clean as a whistle in college.. BUT wait as soon as he gets out he tests positive for Marijuana and it is alledged that he failed tests in college too (Likely as you know) but yet no suspension were given.

Yes most teams want to win very badly but they do not compromise their program for it... AND a lot of the "THUG U" image perpetuated by the media against Miami wa bullsh*t and a lot of it today is still unfair. Like you and your co-workers automatically assuming after Taylor's death that he was involved in some sort of gang related or his death was of his own fault...

BUT you and everybody else can continue to use Tebow (who is great) and the championships to cover up the problematic issues within that team. Their is no accountability, and Urban doesn't care about anything or anybody but his W's, which is scary because of the snake like nonsense he sells to these parents. He is a charming and smart man, and he is a winner but I really think parents should be wary of the type of man they think they are getting their sons involved with.

They can not expect to have their sons become better men and leaders from him and I know for a fact HIS PLAYERS TO NOT GET PREPARED FOR THE NFL!

Aside from all that Mike, the fact that you are completely bias, one sideded and use ridiculous logic and rhetoric for a writer; somehow still getting paid in the process of all of this really makes me question journalism and helps me understand why the newspaper industry is failing.

GOOD DAY SIR!

solarcane

Six, bingo!!!

It's not the color of the uniform or the town, it's the individual that does criminal acts against another person that the anger should be vented on.

I thought we looked like a pack of cowards in the FIU fiasco, I was ashamed of our guys, not for fighting, but for exactly what you described above.

Solar, please give me the name of that Hokie site where they displayed that unbelievable level of delusion in describing the Canes.

Didn't we whoop their azz last year with an offense and defense full of freshmen and a dingbat OC?? Whatever fool wrote that article talks like they beat us 40-2.

I MUST talk some shiznit, or rather, put things in perspective.

And VT is supposed to be an engineering school???

The funny thing is how Croc fans or Croc junk suckers like Bianchi say that "Harvin was a headcase in high school" ... ya, you could say that

Kid got kicked out of Virginia State High School Athletics forever during his senior year b/c of crap he pulled with his love of throwing fists with the opposing team (in both basketball and football) and bumping into an official a couple of times that he disagreed with while dropping some f u bombs on him.

Someone please chime in if this next part is true or not - he ALLEGEDLY broke into his high school after hours and stole some of the trophies from their trophy case

Jordan Futch pulled a knucklehead move when he was in high school as well, when his team was getting handled 41-3 by Pahokee and he lost his temper, yelling at teammates and coaches - he was dismissed from the team. But Jordan wasn't kicked out and banned from playing FHSAA sports forever.

yahoo sports mentions Harvin and the trophies

But off-field incidents, including an arrest allegedly for stealing trophies from his high school, tarnished his image. His new teammates at Florida were well aware that Harvin would bring great ability to Gainesville, but wondered if he'd bring trouble, too.

QB Comp/ATT. TD Int.
Tim Tebow 17/33 154 3 0

Just for comparison. Tim Tebow's sophomore stats in his first bowl game start vs. Michigan as a sophmore.

Very comparable numbers though we know Tebow is a different kind of QB and that he has has a better supporting cast than Jacory. I just think fans are understimating Jacory's peformance against CAL even though it ended in a W. This same Tebow led sophomre team finished the season 9-4 *I believe* and Tebow was a sophmore who lost this game against Michigan. 38-30 in the Capital One Bowl game.

Sam Bradford's statline in his first bowl game as a redshirt freshman against WVU. For comparison sakes!

In his first bowl game appearance, he was 21-of-33 for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception as West Virginia dumped No.3 Oklahoma, 28-48 in the Fiesta Bowl.

I got you man, had cook kept playing like he did consistently all year and with alot of these bozo scouts in the nfl, he could have very well been a high draft pick but amazing enough, cook probably had the most hard hits all year, he got that good 1 on harvin, the one on the texas a&m qb, the one where he basically suplexed that ucf runningback, but by no means would i personally draft cook #1, that had more to do with me suggesting he could be a 1st round pick, lol.

And why are we writing a blog about the arrest amounts of the gators. Expecting the gators to get major ridicule for it, is like expecting people to not look at us as thug u. I can care less about how many arrest any school has for real, to me it is what it is. When we were winning, all people tried to do was point out the so called trouble our players got in because that was pretty much all they had.

By no means though, irregardless of how many arrest the gators had/have, they'll never dominate on the field the way we did or will do. By they way for those who don't think harvin and murphy not being their will be an issue i got news for you, it will be. First off, no team is going to respect their wide receivers until they prove themselves. I don't think debose can be used like harvin was at this point, debose needs to be used mostly in the passing game and not at runningback where harvin had a lil more strength to break at least 1 tackle. rainey is basically garbage for what they use him for, demps we all know if you stay physical with him he'll disappear but don't let him get behind you.

Their o-line wasn't that good, they won't go undefeated for sure, but they are returning a real solid defense. Offensively it might look more like the chris leak years. Also even with harvin they only managed to score 24 points, just 2 points less than when they played us, and if people think that we wouldn't shut them down even more this year if we play them, are you serious.

Matter of fact, they'd be shaking if they had to play us this year, for 1, jacory will go toe to toe against any qb. If he see's 1 on 1 coverage on the outside, he'll throw the fade route from anywhwere as well as call an audible to go deep if it's man coverage. One thing for sure, people are under estimating the heart f a whole collection of champions on one team.

irregardless of the stats, jacory doesn't let the so called big stage affect him, that was evident if ever on that slant pattern he threw to kayne farq after he audibled in the swamp, he put that pass on the money. Another pass play that he had tht impressed me was against virginia, when he raised up and threw that pass topatrick hill while the defender was coming, that play was special because it showed that 1, jacory has great awareness, than 2, jacory still putt he ball on the money, so we'll be alright with a healthy jacory.

People keep talking about the so called tough games we have to play, hell though teams have to play us as well which they know is no cupcake.

I hate me some Gators!

Cat 5 Cane

*I kinda agree with Calvin and who cares what the gators do off the field... nothing is going to change the perception of the way people want to think of Miami... We stomped too many assiz for too many years for people to forget anytime soon. Why do you think ESPN and other networks hate on us... Because most of the reporters and broadcasters who work for the stations or control the stations, came from the schools like Mich or Ohio State or Nebraska or wherever, it doesn't matter where, when we kicked their assiz... and spat on them when they were down... So forgetaboutit Florida's or LSU's or USC's or Ohio State's arrest record... that's never going to change why people hate on us!!!

It's just the way it is!

Cat 5 Cane

Anybody who thinks Tebow isn't going to make it in the NFL is crazy. He's too talented not to find a spot as a wildcat gunslinger... running or throwing... 5 bucks he goes first round!

Cat 5 Cane

The Gators are loaded for bear and have been stock piling recruits the last 4 years, but Florida's season rests with Tebow... as he goes, so does the team, just like the last 3 years. Yes, they've had the Harvin's and many other's to brag about but it's Tebow, that has made the difference when it counted... Take him out of the equation and Fla. is a little above average in the SEC.

Next year he'll be gone and it's going to be hell, trying to replace him... Fla in 2010... 9/3 or 8/4

canezilla

hey calvin,That pass to patrick hill also showed that hill can plow over some guys 2.you cant stop a moving train going that fast...i really hope we use hill more often it could be a real weapon in red zone o.long gone are cooper on the goalline trying to muscle his light azz in,bring in the bowling ball hill.touchtown

Cat 5 Cane

Well, that my 15 minutes on the box... and I'm leaving you to ponder another Question...

All of us know what we've got coming into this year and it looks like a stacked deck to me... Truth and some other have said it starts with the O and D line.... Control that and you control the game... nuff said and I agree.

If that's the most important ingrediant, What's the next position... that we need to address and improve on this year... LB's, DE's, Corners, Safety's or is it offense?

In your opinion...

James Jackson interview

Honestly I can remember going into that locker room after that game[FSU 1997] and seeing the look on the seniors' faces and I think that's what struck a nerve in us younger guys. Seeing that look on their faces. I know it struck a nerve with me and with Nate [Webster]. We went back and talked about that. Honestly at that point in time we didn't have a feel for who we were in college. Just that look on their faces gave us incentive to try to pick up what was left of our season. At no point did we look at each other and say "ok, we're down, let's just give up." What we did say is "ok, we're not a great team yet but we're going to play as hard as we can every single game and give it everything we got, leave it all on the field." That was our motto. Leave it all on the field. We had that and we had that chain. Don't be a weak link in the chain. Nate kept it in his room. That's one of the things that we would do our freshman year. We would pass that chain around to eachother. Don't be the weak link. That's how we motivated ourselves. I'm pretty sure that chain thing started taking place after the Florida State game. So that season for us, while we didn't have a great season, it built fortitude in us. It built character, and that's because we knew what it was to be down. We weren't afraid. We went into every game thinking that we could win if we played our game. If we played well. We went into the games thinking that and we played as hard as we could."

DATcane

JJ part 2

"And they didn't lose a game until that Ohio State game, which I don't count as a loss anyway. I always wondered if they appreciated the building that we had to do in order to get to that point. As far as I'm concerned, that's what matters most. We don't have individuals at the University of Miami. The University of Miami builds a team. Not a knock on Coker, because Coker was a great offensive coordinator, but I think he got away from that a little bit and started recruiting individuals. You start having individuals and that becomes a problem. "
