SCUM!!! I have a lot of respect for you coming on here and saying that. I agree with you 100% and I have to say the most classless act was done to me and my father by a fsu fan. However, that is neither here nor there. Like you said every team has its bad seeds. I hope and pray we meet again for another epic battle at the end of the year and I wish your you nothing but the best. GO Canes!!

Loco

Nothing can top that game. If you were not there, you seriously missed out.

With Whipple as the o coordinator ... and i was the number one rated HS QB... I would be on the phone today to talk to the U baby... qb U!!!

There is no question we have the QB to get where we need to be,#67 needs to tighten up. Is it me,or did anyone else see that our ILB's can't cover shyt,i'm willing to give c-mac a pass for not playing all last year, but sharpton DAM how many times can U be fooled by play-action,middle of the field wide open.Jimbo called a good game, but i wouldn't say he out coached Lovett;did the best he could with what he had.I agree with Calvin, offensive play-calling like this last season, we beat the turds and maybe a lost if any.I know the ACC is a defensive confrence, but if we put up 35 points or better on average thee acc crown is ours.I don't know who's to blame but bosher and pannuzio needs to be checked, how many times can you give a team a short field and it comes back to bite you in the azz...Capt.O your right our lb's and db's need soooo much more work it's a little scary.Props to SS to hanging in there,B.McGee and RR won't see the field much unless absolute necessary. Here's to a good start and hoping those lb's get it right by Sept.17.

I haven't read through all the posts, but was wondering if anyone know why DVD didn't start or MIA. Our secondary worries me greatly, and I guess those injuries to ojomo, Moncur, and Hardin showed up last night as we couldn't generate a pass rush.

Looking forward, whether or not Bradford plays, the only other QB that I'd be worry about in carving our defense up in the run and pass would be Wilson from NCState. Aside from that, as long as Whipple calls the types of plays he did all year, I think we should should win at least 10 games this year.

I'm exhausted today!!

GO CANEZ!!!!!

pb(CSROH10)

Had time to soak it all in and have come to the following conclusions, dont know if anyone will agree or disagree:

1)I cant remember a time, except 2000-2001 (but it's close), where we had so many playmakers at WR and RB. We have had superstars, but I'm talking 1-6 at WR and 1-4 at RB.

2)Whipple is the real deal and we are already on borrowed time with him. I'm praying we get him for 3 seasons total before he moves on, but I'm doubtful he will be around that long.

3)GT is the perfect next opponent for us. We have 10 full days to prepare and our biggest question mark, defensive ends rushing the passer, are not as important as they normally would be because of their type of offense.

4)Jacory is a freaking true sophomore. Sick.

5)FSU is on the way back as much as we are.

6)We can outscore OU this year.

7)86 still has a huge head.

Wow this blog was on fire last night haha. I remember posting something and I found it like 30 comments later.

What a game. I actually watched it a second time on my DVR cuz it was that good.

You know ... it really aint a stretch to say that we could find ourselves in the BCS championship game this yr. But its really not the fuel to think about ...its who will be there as it stands rite now. oh man ... that would be a dream come true for me. um 28 turds 3

bg1906, we got to hold fluzzi panuzzi responsible. It's more important to have kick-off coverage than bug kick-off returns. If you go back to since fluzzi has been here, our special teams are the cause of others teams gaining the momentum back. Go back to when we played oklahoma 2 years ago, they got the momentum back on a big special teams return, and all that year teams did pretty good on special teams against us.

Last year we lost at least 2 games because of kick-off coverage. And last night, had we lost that game, it would have been because of special teams. Yeah the returns were nice, and we know fluzzi can call a good trick play or 2 on special teams, bu we wouldn't need a nice special teams call if we have basic kick-off coverage.

This game kind of reminded me of the oklahoma game, where our defense never could get settled in, because they seemed to always have good field position out their.

angryCane, you hit the nail on the head when you said on at least 1 drive, you basically thought nix was back. I only had issues with 2 drives, other than that. whip did what he wanted to do.

I'm just proud of all the guys that committed to UM at the same time from all over south florida, guys like travis benjamin could have went anywhere else, but chose to stay home, guys like brandon harris, pimp collier, davon johnson was just waiting to get in and do some thangs, we got a whole lot of receivers waiting to beat the hell out of defenses.

Also, if my memory serves me well/correctly, i'm wondering what those ignorant folks think about the garbage time, so called back-up qb now. This is why i personally love to watch the virginia game highlights, 1 it tells you how much jacory had to overcome in making nix offense look decent. But the announcer, like he said after jacory slung that ball and put it in a spot where laron byrd could make a play on it, he said, "the thing i've learned watching 1st hand today is that, jacory harris, he just finds a way to win".

Games like this, are the games where irvin's speech rangs real true. "To us the great, it makes us FOCUS" that's what jacory harris did, that's what travis benjamin did, that's what the o-line did. That's what ponder didn't do on that last pass!

The maturation of A.Brown,J.Futch,and R.Bucannon is so important to the season. The run game still needs to be address, love having coop in the open field,THE BLUR can't be covered one on one,A.J.is very fluid in space, also tuff match-up one on one,big Hank just need to show he belongs,he can be a beast of a receiver. All we need is those road graders to sure up and thee O will be fine...Oh yeah did i mention i'm not too trilled about our lb's and db's.

Someone told me #7 is actually nicked for real as well so I don't know about him...

Posted by: The Truth | September 08, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Truth, when is he going to be back? We need him badly for GT.

Is #8 going to be back for the GT game? I want to see what McGee can do as well.

All in all, great execution on offense. I agree they were really smooth. Couldn't say the same for the D though, I am not convinced FSU's OL is all that great. At least, we should be able to outscore a bunch of teams.

The Truth

Vilma Morgan Reed etc... ALL played kick coverage

I'm not ready to throw Pannunzio under the bus yet. This roster isn't filled out. Miamis ST's were great because we had those types of guys running down the field.

Should there be a microscope? Sure. But he should get credit where ST's excell, too.

mi@mic@ne

The positive thing about this team... as all championship U teams... is that they made plays when we needed them ... either to get back on top or in critical situations that gave us a chance. Thats what the U is all about. WE BADDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!

The Truth

FSU's OL is real good. Real good...

Windy1

I was right about the Canes scoring 30+ and winning, but I was a little surprised about how much the D gave up.

Glad the Canes stopped the run, and if that carries over to GT, the Canes should win that one going away.

Still, the Canes must do a better job against the pass. No pass rush (with the exception of the big plays by Robinson and Bailey) and little LB help in coverage. Spence and the LBs missed some tackles, and we hurt a little as safety. Special teams on kickoffs failed the Canes miserably.

Still, in spite of the criticism of the D, I admit that M. Robinson made the play of the game on that sack and strip; and at the end, B. Harris made a great play on Fortson in the end zone. Shields also made a solid play showing off his athleticsm in the endzone.

The elements of a good defense are there, and I think that FSU team the Canes beat is a very, very good team that the Canes might find themselves playing again in an ACC title game.

Finally, we have a GREAT QB, like the Canes of old. With all the playmakers and Whipple knowing how to use them (I can't say enough about how good Whipple was), I see that last night was the welcoming party for the Canes in their return to the BCS discussion.

I blogged here after watching spring practices and scrimmages that the Canes will strike fear this year among the ACC and in Gatorland. I was laughed at, but lets see who gets the last laugh.

A couple of questions for the naysayers and doubters:
1. Where are all those who doubted and slandered Shannon? (Crickets)

2. Where are all those who wanted Marve? (crickets)

3. Where are all those who wanted Schiano, who dissed Shannon? (Crickets) Where are all those who wanted Kragthorpe? (crickets)

This is only the beginning. All those true Canes fans, shout "GO CANES!!!"

The Truth

But I still think the DL has a way to go...

I think Sapp might be right about our DT's. I'm just not seeing That Guy.

We had a fumble recovery and two picks and we held them on four downs from inside the ten... thats a good nite for the d.

The Truth

...and I say that on the heals of a conversation about Wilfork as a frosh.

Remember that Bill Parcells made a comment that if he were to start a team at that point which QB would he take?

He said he go grab Big Daddy right now as a frosh and start with HIM.

So...like I said about the DT's. They gotta step up b

I am truly amazed at some of these boards/blobs,you would think after such a great win considering we haven't had one in a while, that there would be a great feeling among the so called FANS,but no they still find the smallest of "excuses" to blame RS for this/for that.I am soooo convinced that there is a huge difference between THE LEGION and the so called CANE FANS!

The Truth

...and then again I TOTALLY agree with this:

We had a fumble recovery and two picks and we held them on four downs from inside the ten... thats a good nite for the d.

ATTN:... ESPN HAS SIGNED OFF ON LAST NIGHTS GAME WAS AN INSTANT CLASSIC AND WILL BE AIRED TONIGHT AT 800PM.

I DON'T KNOW THE RAMIFICATION OF TV RATING BUT HEARD LAST NIGHTS GAME WAS A 5.4 OR 5.6 RATING AND THAT WAS EQUAL TO A NFC PLAYOFF GAME... WHICH EQUATES TO BIG TIME TV VIEWING....

IT'S NICE TO SEE ESPN (THE BIG DOG) SNIFFING OUR SHIIT AGAIN!

What an amazing game - another incredible installment of a classic rivalry.

My hats off to FSU, their coaches and players - great effort, great game.

Enjoy the moment Canespacers. U earned it. A couple more performances like that and we'll be beating down the door of the top 10.

Incredible play from Jacory. Awesome job by many others. LOVED the different ways Whip used Coop and created mismatches.

The DL is obviously hurting due to the injuries at DE. The secondary is a liability. However, the D stepped up and made plays and the final stand at the end of the game (which seemed to go on FOREVER!) took guts.

There are always things that can be improved and mistakes to be corrected. But IMO our CANES made some magic last night and might be coming of age faster than we could have hoped for.

The futures so bright I gotta wear shades
