This is not a test. This is a real emergency of the Canespace broadcasting system.
Please tune to your local Canespace TV station for information regarding this emergency.
OK, OK, so it was a little over dramatic. Maybe I slightly overstated the situation.
You say: "It's not even an ACC game. Even if we lose we are at 2-2 with the easy part of our schedule coming up. Don't get your knickers all in a wad!"
I say: "My BS meter just went off. When was the last time your University of Miami Hurricanes had a chance to make a statement in a game this large at home against a top 10 team?"
So now do you see my point of view?
Tonight at The Shark, long after Carlos and Aqua have drained the cooler full of the infamous "Keoki Mystery Punch", Cat5 has introduced himself to another 10,000 Canes fans in his never ending search of The Truth, KLCanefan has sent me 20 text messages asking "Where are U guys?" and The JSQ and her crew have seriously reduced the world's supply of orange and green Jello shots, Miami will play #8 ranked Oklahoma in what could very well be the game of the season for the Hurricanes.
The capacity crowd at The Shark will join a National TV audience in evaluating just exactly where this (still) young Miami team is at on the totem poll of college football.
If the Hurricane pull off the huge upset it could be the biggest victory for Miami in along, long time. It could be like UCLA in 1998 all over again and another run like 2000-2004 could be in store.
If the Hurricanes lose UM fans will be reduced to saying "wait until next year" once again. UM loyalists will have to hope that another year of experience and one more recruiting class will push the Canes over the top in 2010 after Miami beats Ohio State at The Horseshoe.
So you have to ask yourself: Was the game at VT a fluke? Was the real Miami team the one you saw against FSU and GT? Did Mark "Miracle" Whipple fire five shots or six in the first two games? Do the Hurricanes have a bullet left in the chamber for OU? Is Jacory ready to pull the trigger once again?
To tell you The Truth, in all the excitement I kind of lost track myself. So the question you have to ask yourself is this: Do you feel lucky? Well, do U Oklahoma?
Boom

The brother in law (sorta) is trying to fine the spacers in w22 but he's had no success. He's got a 4 year old in tow so he's making one more pass through what he says is mayhem.
If he can't find them I'll send the $$ via the mail solar.
Go canes!'n

Vernon being out makes our DL thin. Our offense is going to have to run the ball and get first downs to give the D a rest. If not, they'll be worn out by the 2nd half

Did nix go to lsu to call plays???

Exactly! Now it the time for Whipple and Stoutland to pull out the TRAP and COUNTER-TRAP plays! The Sooner D-line comes at U hard, fast and nasty. A few traps will temper their penetration.

Keys to the game. Miami MUST win first down. Keep OU in third and long, and keep JaWhipple Harris in 2&3rd and short. We neen two turnovers and we need a big play early. Let's get it done CANES

Win or Lose my money is on Canez1 to punch someone in the mouth by nights end. Our donations will go from helping out SOUP to bailing him out of jail

FSWho loses, 28-21.
TERRBILE call for excessive celebration in the UGA-LSU game. That allowed LSU to score the go ahead TD late.
I agree with money. UM needs some early success on D. Force a TO, sack, big hit, whatever. Get in Jones's mind. Keep him out of rthym.
GO CANES

Yeah mike that was awful...how do you ask a kid to show now emotion after he scores a go ahead td...officals are hurting the college game.

Couldn't agree more.
It's a shame, too. We can't ask college football players, playing an emotional game, to be robots. AJ Green didn't rub anyone's nose in the fact he scored. He celebrated with teammates. I thought that was OK? I guess I'm wrong.

MM01 I couldn't believe that penalty either.

Posted by: sinistercane | October 03, 2009 at 08:33 PM
Sam Shields is lost ... completely lost
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:34 PM
Whiffed on a tackle that allowed a 1st down, whiffed at the line of scrimmage that allowed the TD thrown over his head, let his man go in that last series completely free and if Jones would've just hit his guy then it would've gone for 6
Shields needs to learn immediately, as in, 5 minutes ago
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:37 PM
great series D...U tellin me we ain't got a better db than shields to cover these mofo's..they're lookin his way everytime, boy needs help fast

MIAMI — A few quick lineup notes for you for positions that were in question:
DEFENSE
LE — Marcus Robinson
LT — Joe Joseph
RT — Josh Holmes
RE — Andrew Smith
SLB — Jordan Futch
RCB — Sam Shields
SS — Jared Campbell
FS — Vaughn Telemaque
OFFENSE
Joel Figueroa will start over Harland Gunn at right guard.
Posted by: CGNC | October 03, 2009 at 08:38 PM
They're going to pick on Sam and Sharpton ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!! Something's not right if Mcgriff can't bring McGee up to speed as fast as a converted WR, who is still making critical errors.
Posted by: Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer | October 03, 2009 at 08:38 PM
That's the scariest 1st down conversion on a 3rd and 1 I've seen in years
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:41 PM
Six, either Mcgriff can't coach or shields just completely forgets everything he learns when he steps on the field.
OU is solid, well coached. But Whipple's calling a conservative game.
Posted by: Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer | October 03, 2009 at 08:44 PM
Shields made up that ground quickly when he whiffed at the LOS ... but he still whiffed
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:45 PM
Who WHIFFED??????? JESUS.
Posted by: Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer | October 03, 2009 at 08:46 PM
F*****g pathetic right there
Have them pinned down on the 1 yard line and they bust a long run like that
This is a track meet that Miami isn't ready for
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:47 PM
If you're Stoops, why are you kicking a FG? I tell Kevin Wilson he can do whatever he wants, b/c Miami isn't stopping the fast track offense and it's not like the Miami Offense is moving the ball well against the D
Go for it on every series that brings up a 4th and whatever
Posted by: Six | October 03, 2009 at 08:49 PM
Campbell went for the kill shot in the endzone....costly.
Posted by: 8th Man in the box | October 03, 2009 at 08:50 PM
bring author brown oh wait lets lose first until we maje changes
Posted by: sinistercane | October 03, 2009 at 08:50 PM
On O we need to take advantage of the LBs playing so close to the LoS.
Posted by: 8th Man in the box | October 03, 2009 at 08:51 PM
offense looks timid and D looks lost at times...get ur shyt together boys and man up quick
Posted by: Canezitis | October 03, 2009 at 08:52 PM
