Sarasota 'cane

If we get the first down, everyone here would be saying "the Canes have heart-rammed it down their throats-swagger."

It didn't work. What was the difference between this game and FSU? One Play. Just one play. In years past, once Clemson gets the pick 6, UM collapses. This team has enough fire power to come back. And they are the youngest contending team in the nation by far.

This is a good, young team with a huge upside. Does anyone recall that we've lost Josh Holmes, M. Forston, Ojomo and Gavin Hardin on the D line. Could Clemson lose 4 players like that on the D line and compete with us? Not to mention Futch, Hill and all the other injuries to the D alone.

The media made a big deal all week about UF missing 3 starters on D-We're missing at least 6 almost every game!

Maybe Lovett deserves a little break, huh? He allowed 26 points to an explosive team, and even contributed 7. 34 points should have been more than enough to win this game. If Uribe doesn't miss a squib call we probably win. One play.

The only thing that concerns me is a potential rift between Whip and Onion. We need Whip to stay. He has done a great job with this O, and the bright future I see has Mark Whipple as the OC. I hope this is just one of those things that happen in a stressful situation and not something more serious.

I know we could have won this game, but this is the last tough match-up we have for the rest of the year. Right now, we are succeptible to big play offensive teams. None of our future opponents have the offensive fire power of Clemson-not even close. Our O can move against anyone (barring a monsoon) so the future match-ups favor Miami.

With the injuries and youth on this team (and 2 brand new coordinators and systems) can U really be disappointed with 10-2?

Calvin, up to this point what is your opinion of the back 7. average, below average, descent or incomplete?

Calvin,i don't see where i blamed the players, infact my disgust is with the coordinators...I feel whip ran the ball too much they were ready for most run called plays...they had no answer for Byrd,TB,and Hank why not attack downfield more.Much respect for McDaniel but i don't remember him being consistently challenge downfield or making him defend Epps or Liger...but it's all good the Wake should be in for a serious butt-kicking.

Well..season not over lets finish strong and maybe just maybe we can get one of those mighty SEC gods to knock off their perch.

myndraize, the offense did that in the second half, started attacking more, but than in the critical situations, come on, that was some bullshat right their. If the coaching staff doesn't have a killer instinct, or call the plays that show aggression, you can't blame the players.

I would rather you call a passing play, and that puts the execution sqaurely on the players, as opposse to bailing out clemson's defense by running the ball. I'd rather live with jacory throwing an interception being aggressive as oppose to us running. I like that jacory tried to force that ball in their on third and goal, he knew more than anything, we needed he touchdown and he wanted the touchdown in overtime instead of 3.

You gotta like that about jacory, while people wanted him to throw the ball away, jacory was more like phuck that, i'm going for the touchdown, of course not getting 1 is where we're at today, but damien berry should have been in that game if healthy. Or javariss should have been giving the ball times, but give clemson credit, that safety mcdaniel came up and forced coop to go wide, what i don't like is, and what bothering me the most is, when did our coordinators become punks.

new blob

Tough one yesterday. Fukked up my whole night!! Funny thing is everyone knows to stay the fukkk away from me when the Canez lose.

I hate to lose.

Bottomline is the kids gave this one away. We played sloppy all game and did not execute. How many fukin penalties can one team have?????

A great Miami team would have overcome those penalties and came out with a W. We are not there yet. We almost had it though.

When our talent on the field starts to overcome any obstacles(penalties, bad reffing, bad bounces)that is when we will know this program is ready for greatness.

The bomb from Jacory after the huge mistake was a glimpse.

It's coming....

And why can't we just end up on the wrong side of a tough fought game without calling for coaches to be fired.

I have yet to see a perfectly coached game and it is tough to coach a team when the kids continue to fukkk up and try to give the game away.

I wish all of our drives where the first drives of the second half. We look all world on them!!!!

Speed kills, Spiller is a bonafide assassin.

Calvin is right,

Our coaches have no swagger,
When there is pressure they wilt every time.
We don't go for the kill, we play not to lose.

We lead that game SEVEN times and lost.

Randy is a great defensive coordinator when he is up in the booth and can see the entire field.
He doesn't seem as sharp from the sideline.

And he needs to stay way down there with the special teams and defense like whipple joked about at the beginning of the year... he didn't look like he was joking yesterday.

I loved when the announcers said Whipple called the time out cause hes from the nfl.
Where did Whipple when his National Championship?
How many thousands of times has Whip gone over what to do when and why in game situations?

Tough loss...i really don't wanna believe Whipp called 3 straight run plays to prove a point to RS.I understand running 3 fresh backs at them, but D.Berry was ballin why not stick with the horse that's running better.NO PRESSURE on a rs freshmen qb,who skill set and future is probally baseball looked like an all american.A.Bailey is decent, but we just don't have that dominant DT/DT's.The linebackers couldn't cover area 51, yet alone rb's in space.Shannon&Lovett showed clemson o-line toooo much respect. For once,i would like to see this team move up and down the field ATTACKING no matter who the opposition is and a defense that will put your LIGHTS OUT!

cat5Cane, this video is for you, even if we pick up the 1st down running the ball 3 straight times, that's not high percentage play-calling, if we closed out the game the way we did against oklahoma, just watch for yourself, hadwe run the ball 3 straigh t times against oklahoma, we probably lose on a fieldgoal. We close out strong against oklahoma with strong play calling, we punk out against clemson:

boy reading the comments after this loss was depressing. everyone is disappointed but thats what happens when you drink to much kool-aid.

we still have the chance to go 10-2 (which for anyone other than the 12%'s is the best anyone thought we would do) and hopefully the coaches and players can improve their effort from tonight.

Dwelling on this is just going to make it worse.

being hungover after a loss just isn't as fun as after a win...

When I woke up this morning at first I thought it was just a nightmare. Then reality sank in. Sorry for all the players and all the fans, but not the coaching staff.
On TV, it seemed that the stadium was so empty. What is the capacity of the stadium? Maybe that's why it looked so empty. What was the attendance?
Makes for a lousy Sunday. Can't bear to watch the Lions today!!!

Dabo Sweeney>Tommy Bowden
Clemson >Clemsdaughter
Sweeney has his team playing to their potential, they have had the players they just now got a coach.
Like the Truth said "We ain't quite there yet."
I wouldnt trade our coaches or players for anybodys.
Now Im gonna go watch Angrys drunkest guy ever video again.
Go Canes!!!

Cat 5 Cane

We beat our selves... too many mistakes and penalties kept them in the game and No points at the end of the first half!

My biggest complaint... not enough rushing or at least, the threat (Move them in, move them out) to bull rush, leaving no guess work for the QB. When we did, he rattled.... I saw it so clear, so why couldn't JL see it!

IMO...Offensive play calling was fine. How does anyone second guess a run play ?... Ohhh yeah, he didn't get the first down, so should of passed it to Benji or Hank or Bird... ppppplease, they had the right defense at the right time or we missed an assignment block.

If the play worked he's a genious... who would have guessed it! if not,... he's a bum

i love allen bailey but he is not a de. the times he got pressure is when he was at dt. i saw about 4 plays when he was letting ot dictate where he was going instead of him dictating. And where was the help with tackles from our running backs chipping. Lastly, i can live with effort penalties but the pre-snap ie offsides, 12 men in the huddle makes me crazy.

After a bad nights rest, i am still pissed at Whipple for calling 3 straight runs at the end of regulation and at Lovett for being so laid back on defense all night!

Calvin, good idea on calling TO on 3rd an long to give the D a breather. Only one problem with that... The Offense will have wasted all of them by then

Joseph Gatz

We are 5-2....not a bad place to be. At the beginning of the year I believe Truth said we will "win one we should have lost (FSU) and lose one we should have won (Clemson)" We run the table, punch Butch Davis in his b&(ch-azz face and tell the nation...wait until next year!!!!

Anyone else watch that WR screen that was "incomplete" and BH was picking it up to take to the house. That was a lateral... blown call that cost us 7 points.

Both coordinators need to grow a pair and call plays that give our teams the best chance to win. I have no idea where this mentality came from in this game by calling plays not to lose rather than to win.

On D. Our 1st and 2nd they were holding it down only to get beat on 3rd and long consistently. We brought no pressure and got killed by TE screens. The backers did not recognize it all day and that crushed us.

On O. Yes, J12 made some mistakes, but he kept his head up and brought the team right back. I have no issue with that. I have an issue with 4 min to go -- up 3 -- we run the damn ball 3 times just to set up the punt. This is not '09 Miami football. Where is the killer instinct to put the team away. You have the ball and game in your hands and need to do something with it. If you are going to go with the running strategy, why wasn't Berry in the game. He was the most consistent back all game and was hitting the hole hard. He would have given you the best chance to pick up a few firsts and ice the game if you have no intention of scoring. Then in OT, same thing as the end of regulation.

Whip-man needs to learn how to close games out. Love-man needs to study up on 3rd down scheming.

This one is on the coaches. I think they realize it. Especially Whip. It will be interesting to see the dynamic between the coaching staff on the sidelines in the upcoming weeks and if any rumors surface about unrest/tension between them.

Also, the crowd. This loss just kills me, but what was up with that lack of crowd? We had a top 10 team playing a pretty good clemson team and hardly anyone shows up. WTF?!?! That part just rips me apart. It was sad, pathetic and unfair to our players. 43k was the supposed attendance -- it was more like 30k. Absolutely disgusting. Not to make excueses, but they really need to re-examine the pricing schedule for those tickets. ~$70 for upper deck sideline is crazy for a college game in this economy and on top of that another $25 or whatever for parking. As a student, it is not an issue, but I can see it being a huge financial burden for a lot of people...

One good thing though, it was good seeing a defensive lineman that had to be doubled team on a consistent basis for the whole game.

Well, you're on to something mi@mic@ne, to many times this year i heard the players saying the other team came out running things a whole lot different that what they practiced for, and that was the tone after the Fsu game. I heard it again after the ucf game, if the defensive coaching staff is not recognizing what's going on in game, more than likely right now, a young team will not either.

Tht last play worked to perfection for 1, the linebackers were getting caught with that tight-end screen all game so they were sitting on that, that's why jacboy ford knew he could get open behind them. Defensively, we never looked lined up right alot of times as well. clemson missed on some big play opportunities, that one flanker screen where the pass was dropped was one, of course the trick play was another one.

If i'm the coach and its 3rd down and 11, i'm calling a timeout, to let my defensive line rest to say to them, give me everythign you got on this pass rush, safeties, play up on the crossing routes, and than i'm sending the blitz up the middle, something clemson hadn't seen.

That defense that was called yesterday, it basically had the linebackers and safties out of the equation.

I think we used to call it ... getting caught flat footed.

My other question would be was there something illegal going on... blocking before the ball got to the receiver on those screens. Are the going down field before the completion? I just seemed like we were unable to avoid the blocking.

Shannon has the recruiting and the practice intensity thingy under control. His problems are along the lines of being able to look at what is transpiring in the game and working up a game plan to counter the areas they are trying to expose.. usually it is stretching the field in the 10 yrd areas where our linebackers need to close on their receivers. In my opinion we are missing the lb with the motor. Its the same thing with getting beat by the flanker screen... lbs could not shed the blocks and we had a hard time with being blocked on the perimeter... not enough early recognition... we did so well against GT. Thats probably our biggest downfall... people on the field being caught as if the game is coming to them .. not enough early recognition. I mean.. its coaching communication when we get beat by basically three passing plays.. flanker screen... the Spiller flies.... and the te down the middle in front of the lbs.

This was one of the most dissappointing losses though in a long time, for the most part for real, i kind of had the same feeling the whole second half that i did against ohio st. Turns out now, i see why.

shannon must have had temporary amnesia or something though, when he's saying running the ball 3 straight times is not conservative, and that we've done that the last few games, correction shannon, against oklahoma, the fake toss sweep and than pass to aldarius was one of the biggest plays against oklahoma, as well as the pass to THE TIGHT-END epps on another 3rd and short on the same drive where jacory gave the thumbs up.

If we do the same thing this game, we would have been able to close it out and go home with the win, instead, we play it safe, put our defense up against the speed they got on offense, when people talk about the ones who got away, we just played against 2 of them in spiller and ford.

The main thing we did wrong from a coaching standpoint in the secondary was, we didn't make sure jacoby ford had either brandon harris or dvd on him irregardless of where he went, forget all this boundary corner and field corner talk, shadow their fastest guy with one of those 2 db's. That play had nothing to do with scheme, it was just an easy isolation play, they knew our linebackers were not going to get depth on the the pass route and it cost us.

Let's see if this tough loss makes for a tougher team, i gotta agree though with whipple, shannon needs to not worry about the offense, let whipple handle that side of the ball, whether he makes a mistake or not, for the most part, at least let him do it on his own, it's lovett that really does need the help.

Had we won the game mot of us would have been happy, at the same time the same criticism for the most part would still apply. The biggest difference in the game wasn't that clemson was faster than us or something, hell the talent level for the most part was about even, this game like alway came down to who was going to stay aggressive, and when you hear that jacoby ford called that last play, lol.

WHen people refer to us seeming to go back to nix play calling, why go with a bunch formation, i would have spread clemson's defense out, and ran the ball like that. I'm sure whipple is kicking himself right now for the most part, any offensive coordinator with pride who gets down to 1st and goal and doesn't get the touchdown has to be pissed off.

I'm dissappointed we never gave hankerson a chance in the redzone, i think aldarius was a decoy out their for the most part, while jacory did throw to him, his shoulder was more than likely still banged up, for the mistakes jacory made, he still help lead the team out in front. lovett calls defensive plays that respect the opponent to much, as someone said earlier, enough with the game day spring game defensive play calling.

This was oneo f those games where had our defense stayed aggressive on that young qb, we'd have won this game by 2 or 3 touchdons for sure. On 3rd and 11, i would have sent the house, one of the biggest problems on defense though, while they got jacoby ford, i can understand plaing back on him, but why are we playing so far back on the other receivers, next, ford should have been pressed with safety help over the top, while the defense that was called was a decent defense, it wasn't an aggressive defense, that's what got us in trouble all game

When we were about to take a 10 point lead, kevin steele blitzed us and sapp came up with the sack, jacory was winding up to go deep. It was real dissappointing to see clemson run nothing but screen plays against the defense though. Also, on 4th and 1, for clemson, when they handed the ball off to harper that deep in the backfield, had we run blitzed we would have ended the game, instead we stay in the base defense.

At least for the 1st time all year the defense got a few turn-overs in the game, 2 forced fumbles and an interception, as stated before the season, randy phillips and cmac are going to get or be involved somehow in getting turn-overs. With the defense that lovett calls, the thing i don't like is, where are the safeties, to many times i see them being in effective, so it's basically 9 against 11 out thier, i would ahve blitzed parker all 4th quartr long.

That's the one thing about mickey andrews, rigth or wrong, he's going to stay aggressive on defense, he'd rather go down blitzing, if you're going to beat his defenses it'll be because the oppossing qb knew where to go with the ball and stands in their.

We made plays on offense and defense, we played pretty well throughout the game.

Problem is that they made plays on offense, defense AND special teams. That was the difference.

Also they were too fast for us. Speed kills and we just got a dose of our own medicine.

Excuse me...allowed 26 and scored seven...we should win when the defense holds them to 19 net.

The defense allowed 16 points and scored 7...not a bad night.

# 6 Iowa

Iowa might just be the most overrated team in the top 10.
--Nope. That would be our hurricanes.

They needed two..yes TWO blocked field goals against Northern Iowa to save a 17-16 win to start the year.
-Alabama needed to block a FG to win as well. So what? A win is a win. Much better than a loss in OT

They beat Arkansas State and Michigan by a combined 5 points.
---They won.

Their only significant win came against another highly overrated team in Penn State.
---Who have we beat that isn't over rated? FSU? Oklahoma?

Although their three remaining games don’t look like much, neither does Iowa.
--Wrong. Best D in the country and the best coaching as well.

They start with a tough game on the road against a pesky Michigan State team before traveling to the “Shoe” to play Ohio State. They finish the year with another tough game against Minnesota.
--This is valid.

Tebow's record as a 1st year starter = 9-4

Bernie Kosar

Agreed! Our expectations far exceeded the talent level and the experience of our players. Whipple really needs to get into JH's ass about these crazy INT's but he is young. Someone tell me what was Tebows records as a first year starter?

aight gang,
it's not like the season's over, shoot at the beginning of the year anyone on here would take 10-2 and a bowl game.
im out

I wonder how would everyone react if we won this game? It's amazing how fickle fans are these days! Listen this team is talented but even they said that they have a long way to go. They know that they are not that good yet. We gotta take our lumps.

The U did a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong, all the way around. I'd love to have seen J12 audible on 3rd and 3 toward the end of reg. or in OT, as someone had to show some confidence in the offensive style that had taken them this far this season. Somehow I don't think J12 is going to do something that will be considered divisive to the team, at least not publicly. One thing is for sure, Solar. No matter how laps he might have run, he wouldn't have been suspended!

How about that trick play that Ellington dropped the ball on in the 2nd half? Clemson had the wideout all the way to the sideline as if going out, but he stayed just in bounds and the Canes completely forgot about him. Fortunately the throw up the left sideline was dropped, or that play would have been shown non-stop on ESPN all week.

One would hope the coaches could be more honest with the players about responsibility, although at times this isn't a good idea as players need to believe in their leaders. I hope the civil unrest between coaches doesn't affect any of the potential recruits.

i think this game should help in DT and DE recruiting....showed we need a bad ass pass rusher other than #57....he is a beast, need 3 more like him, and all is good

dont think I have ever felt so deflated by a loss....turned off TV after that jerk scored, and havent turned it back on since....

we gift wrapped that damn game to Clemson, and title to GT....enjoy a-holes, next year, you are toast...

I dont particularly like the O play-calling, but we scored 24 on them, and if not for 3 other big plays (kick return, spiller pass play, INT for TD), should have been more than enough...D play calling, i felt flat out stunk....when we blitzed this kid, he froze stiff....one LB should have been going at his ass all game

was proud how guys came back after each time being down....now will be the true test, how do we come back after a deflating loss like this?

The lack of depth on the D-Line finally caught up with us

We still can finish this season off strong

It might not be the way we wanted it to be before kickoff, but none the less it can and will be a big step in the right direction

Our D is missing to many playmakers this season to not expect a misstep along the way

i said the same thing earlier, Jacory should have said fug it in OT and changed the plays at the line of scrimmage, he could run laps all night after the game if Shannon didn't like it.

Even randy phillips admitted he should have come up on that play instead of staying in the endzone, now that is a play where lovett wasn't necessarily calling the wrong defense it's just that since he's not an aggressive dc, our guys don't take a whole lot of chances like they should, had phillips stepped up and laid the wood on ford, we got to another overtime.

dlu, whipple acted like he wanted to quit at halftime with all that bitching but shannon does have a way of getting under peoples skin on purpose or by default. This tem is improved by a long shot, losing a tough game like this in ovetime, we were in trouble anyway. If nothing else this will make the guys more hungry and pissed off.

Sarasota 'cane

NC, BCS, Gator Bowl??????? With 5 games left to play???? I fully expect to win out, but...... I think it's time we stop trying to figure out which bowl UM will end up at! There are so many trap games left on the schedule, there is no point trying to guess our post season until we have finished playing all the games.

P.S. Whoever called the conservative 3 and out at the end of regulation is the one who lost the game. I would rather have lost on a pick 6 going for the juglar then to let Clemson take it to OT.

Bend don't break?? Puuulease!

Let's go canes!

Spiller is a man.

p.s. Finally met 86 and JSQ. Moneycane as well.

Great people.

Chi Mia 'Cane '98

What year is Spiller? Hopefully he will be playing on Sunday's next year when we head to Death Valley.

Chi Mia 'Cane '98

Next year baby...

Let's get these guys one more year of game experience and a season under our belt with the new coaching staff.

This loss sux but I want the players and coaches to feel how bad it is lose like this so they will never want to feel this way again while they are at the "U".

We are looking at the gator bowl. I just hope this game doesn't hurt our recruiting momentum

orange 'n green in the vein

Time to regroup. This team is good enough to play with anybody in the nation, but not ready to dominate everybody in the nation yet.

Esteban, still want to take somebody other than Spiller as the best back in the NCAA? How about at least the ACC? Can we agree on that?

yea Cal,
I have nothing but respect for Spiller, he put the game on his back several times.

Everytime we play Clemson it goes to overtime and the visiting team wins, that's weird.

Sarasota 'cane

Chi Mia 'Cane '98

BTW, there a too many undefeated and one loss teams this late in the year that there is no way Miami would have played for the NC. Yes, it would be nice for the them to play in a BCS game but...

Once again, Randy blames everyone else! He needs to have the damn courage and decency to admit he and his coaching staff blew it. I know the players screwed up almost across the board, but no one can convince me that the coaches are not to blame for the loss. I have no respect for anyone who never admits responsibility.

JH said "We fought so hard throughout the game as a team, and we didn't come out with the victory," he said. "We let Clemson out-work us. We turned the ball over too much. It was little things that made us get to this point. I came out there, was throwing too many interceptions."

Iowa 8-0. They are a top 4 team. To all the iowa haters. Shhhhhh

I know solar, i haven't heard anything yet, and i don't want to from the coaches for real. I will say this, as far as the db's go, mcgriff is doing a good job with them, the problem comes in when we get spread out and have to have the safties cover top end speed wide-outs. I knew cj spiller was fast, but for the 1st time i saw brandon harris chase somebody he couldn't close on.

The coaching staff got confused, now that i think about it, the reason whipple gets conservative alot of times is simple, he all of a sudden goes back to his headcoaching experience mode and plays it safe at times, every now and than he'll waste an offensive series, he gets brain farts for sure. We can go back and disect the series in the Fsu game where whip brain farted, the g-tech game, brain farted, the v-tech game was farted from the beginning, every game whip has had brain farts, this time it cost us.

At the same time, we put up 27 points on offense, should've had more. bailey made plays, and left it all out their on the field, marcus robinson is doing well.

I knew pipho would handle bowers, because he's a big guy, it's the speed guys that give pipho fits.

Since the start of the 1985 season, Miami is 136-2 when scoring 34 or more points.

Solar that is what I was talking about, I would respect Shannon a lot more if he just said those were my defensive call, and I blew it on the time out. Shannon could learn a lot from JH, JH mans up even if it not his fault, got to love that.

Chi Mia 'Cane '98

I just had a feeling Miami was going to lose today. The last three games, the 'Canes have played against Clemson have all gone into overtime. I knew once we could not put them away in the third & fourth quarters that it was going to be a dog fight and Miami was going to have to be lucky to win this win. Do not get me wrong they should have.

I am a realist but I sometimes drink the "kool aid" and was hoping for them to run the table but I knew in the back of mind that they probably were going to lose at least one more. They are too young, inexperienced and injury depleted to have gone 11-1. 10-2 is not bad... Come on, half the people in this blob thought they were going to go 0-4 and they were hoping 2-2. Well here are the two loses for the year. The 'Canes should win their remaining games and go to a very respectable bowl.

Like someone said in an earlier post, this team reminds me of the '99 team. If they finish the year strong, get some of these players back healthy next year and some younger players contribute and add depth they are going to be scary for years to come...

The feeling sucks now, but in the next few weeks when they start rollin' again and finish the reguler season up strong people will forget about this game. And who knows how the season is going to play out in the ACC or College Football itself.

Calvin I was wondering the same thing, hoping Whipple was not so pissed off that he ran the ball when he has passed successfully all season in that situation.

coaching staffs like fsu are not good, it startes to influence the players.

"Clemson trailed seven times in the game, erasing every one, "

whip it good

then right on que

"Blown assignments," Shannon said. "We had something called and we went on the field and it was totally different. ... Guys didn't get it done."

i knew it was the dam players

man am i tired of Shannon shedding responsibility

Be good gang I am off to see if Miss St can beat the Gators

I'm wondering if any of the coaches just step up to the mike and say "I fked up", Like jacory would do?

They will lose a lot of respect if its

"The players didn't blah blah blah, if the players had blah blah."

solar, u right, we are all on the same page, now what i definitely don't want to hear randy shannon saying, i tell the players all the time this, or i tell the players that, just say, this lost was on the coaching staff, and than stfu after that.

If the lip reading is correct, whip saying shannon needs to worry about the defense, i take that to mean whip knows who needs the help lovett not him. Here is hoping whipple didn't run the ball 3 straight times to prove that the defense needed the help.

I was at the game and now feel nauseous! Although some of our present players are not quite "there" yet, we could still have won the game. The coaching decisions definitely lost the game for us! Why doesn't Lovett blitz. what happened to aggressive Whipple? whip acted like a coward who has no confidence in his QB and receivers. Where the heck was our top notch WR corp? And the tight ends? What are these coaches thinking? The coaches don't play the game, but they bloody well lost it for us- including Shannon!
They blew this game and I hope they know it.
I am so pissed now.

If lip read is for real it would mean that Shannon is running the defense, I think it would mean that not 100% sure. Shannon has the headsets on and is shaking his head, no, and such? If Shannon is running the defense, I would really respect the guy if he would come out and own up to the defensive play calls, and take the heat but be a man. So my frustation is somewhat over, high hopes go down hard.

PB we made him look somewhat better than he is. He is no Adrian Peterson

dlu - one thng about mistakes - as long as they learn from them and move on and get better - if we keep seeing the same ones then, that is something to worry about.

Defensively not only did their qb have all day they ate us alive with that screen play over and over. But whatever. Next up Wake Forest

This could be total BS but here it is claims to read lips." Actually, I read lips. I have a def member in my family. I use to steal signals regularly!

Time of time out:

Whip:"What the fugg did you call that for!?
Randy: "I wanted to save the fugging time and you did not have a play?
Whip: "I was sighing Clock"
Randy. "I did not see and I made a call damn it!" did not see the rest

He said walking to the Locker room!

"That was fugging Bulls hit .......He needs to let me run the fuggin offense and worry about the defense and special teams. I had it under control. That was fuggin BS.. fugging BS.."

We plain and simple did not have a player on our defense that could control Spiller.

He was a one man wrecking ball.

cgn, more of a realty check on the defensive coaching, just how bad it is. And a realty check on Whipple , Whipple is good real good but he makes mistakes, a realty check of JH he is good but makes mistakes also.

No way the U goes to the NC anytime soon rushing 4 and letting just fair qtbacks pick the defense apart, that is the biggest realty check.

Hurri and Solar:

The truth is, and I guess it becomes a play on words, that this game would be a response to "The Truth," whom I hope is okay since we haven't heard from him here in a while. This team is still lacking in certain positions, depth, etc., but this game appeared lost more due to coaching than talent. This team doesn't yet have the talent of the 2001 squad that didn't need to outcoach opponents too often. Shannon is a great recruiter and is learning. Whether he has (or will continue to develop, to be more accurate) "it" for the pressured gameday decisions is still up in the air.

Like we both said, Hurri, great athletes/teams go for the knockout when the opportunity arises. They don't just hope things work out. This isn't part of showing confidence/swagger.

I suppose it doesn't matter much now that Iowa is losing, but the fact that FU is only ahead of Miss. State by 3 in the 3rd qtr. helps perk me up a bit. If FU blows this one I'd sorta consider the day a wash....

Time to spend some family time. Have a good one all.

This game was a reality check. Still better than watching Cook and Romeo and the K boys and Marve and his crazy *ish. That tight end of theirs got his bell rung - I was afraid they were going to take him out on a stretcher

Lucky for me, I have my Dolphins to fall back on, as our vaunted secondary (you know, the one Braylon Edwards went Ringling Bros. circus on) will shut down Drew Brees. A guy who obviously sucks, because the Phins brass said so. Any idea if this Brees guy can throw the ball any?

maybe it should have been Randy running the d and whipple running the o.

After another loss to either UNC or USF, I call the Chicken Sandwich Eat More Chikin Bowl vs. LSU.

Maybe a little payback for 40-3?

And when the blood clot are we gonna' try to go to Streeter?

Hassan said it right.

No fades to any of the SIX 6'2 or taller recievers on this squad? Come on. Epps & Graham OWN dudes in that Goal to go situation. These are XBox plays we should have made today.

I also say that when Benjamin has the ball any other time than on the deep ball, we set the tips of his locks on fire, then put a pail of water in the endzone. Thataway, he goes FORWARD, rather than backwards.

yea aqua one more fkup and we are nut bowl bound

Randy needs to clean up these loose ends ie the game plan ... adjustments.. and ... ST. Cause next yr this kind of stuff is going to have more of a serious tone to it. We got to win the big games ... when we are at the cross roads of controlling our own way to the championship. We still havent got to that level.

When will Lovett realize that the front 4 for Miami cant create the pass rush that is needed on a consistent basis? They are not that good.

The front 4 got no pass rush at FSU, Ohio State, GT, USF, VT and now Clemson. When will he realize that he has to help them and the secondary by blitzing?

I am done for the night!

Angry - LOL - I have been to Clemson for a horse show - talk about nothing in the middle of nowhere!
