FROM THE LAST BLOG:

YES I'M IN THE BUILDIN'

After starting the season 3-1 I was feelin' the way the season was going. Even after Saturday's loss, I'm still feelin' the way the season is going because I see a team that will probably win their last 5, finish 10-2 & play in a pretty good bowl game.

What I'm not feelin' is the approach the coaches are taking into games. The coaches should just follow their own blueprint they used to avenge last years loss to GaTech. TAKE AWAY WHAT THE OTHER TEAM DOES BEST!

Everybody in the nation knows if you load up on VaTech's run game & force Tyrod Taylor into 3rd & longs against the blitz he nuts up. The coaches let the Hokies play in their comfort zone. Saturday was know different. Everyone knows Clemsons only threats are Spiller & Ford. Scheme to take them away or at least make it hard to use their strengths(speed). "Thats ok" the coaches said with a "kool aid" smile. We'll be good sports & see if Spiller can beat our LB's in a race to the end zone. Since the d-line was shutting down the run with a 4 man front, blitz to get pressure on the pass. Anytime their QB got pressured, he nutted up. The biggest reason the defense doesn't create a lot of turnovers is because the opposing QB can sit in the pocket comfy & cozy without consequence. If the coaches scheme is to just do what they do & dare you to beat their athletes, when they play a team with athletes close to theirs, the team can get beat simply by being outschemed.

If the coaches don't tighten up on this, we'll be waiting until 2011 to see a championship. When the team has more talent, depth & experience than everybody...

NICE WORK JSQ!

Now we have to clothe U in Canespace gear.

Aquaman

Good blog

JSQ

Yeah, the shirt you gave me was "accidentally" taken by a waitress at our game watch location. So, I am shirtless now.

Wait, that came out wrong.

dg

I had to take a few days to calm down. Although I figured we may lose. I realize this team is young but the coaches are not. RS needs to realize the offense is the strength of this team. Ed Reed, Beason, Rolle, Vilma, are not on this team. That 3 and out BS was the game. Jacory--Ball Security young man is the #1 job of the QB. The odds are that we will never have just more talent and experience than everybody again. We can't depend on that to win--too much parity! I'm not sure how much more I can take!!!!!

Nice work 86 & the rest of d' gang in the pics! Go CaneSpacers!

Mrs. 86

Cool job all CaneSpacers @ d' shark + very creative writing 86; as usual! Wish I look that great in photos as these folks do.

86Cane

Actually I do have a comment.

New Canespace and Sean Taylor shirts have been ordered ($600) and will arrive before the UVA game on 11/7.

I realize that everyone who donated $$$ to help support blog operations cannot make it to Miami to enjoy the games and the Canespace tailgate parties so...

Anyone who donated between $20 and $50 will receive a Canespace T-shirt mailed to their address.

Anyone who donated $100 or more will receive one Canespace shirt and one ST#26 shirt mailed to their address (or two Canespace shirts if U prefer).

I will bring the boxes of shirts to the UVA game and if you are going you can pick them up at the Hampton or the game and it will save me the postage.

More to follow...

fran

pb(CSROH10)

IMO we are having an incredibly exciting, productive, hope building season.

I kind of wish we could all see it that way.

We are winning with kids who are turning into men right before our eyes. We still have 2 1/2 more seasons of watching greatness unfold.

Win or lose Saturday, it was an amazing game and light years away from getting smashed by a combined 100 points our last three games three seasons ago.

We will continue to build depth as our core of amazing young talent matures, and be playing for a National Championship next season or the one after that.

Let's enjoy.

Thanks 86 but I don't need the shirts. Not that I dont want them, but I prefer the money be used for whatever expenses you continue to have.

Go Canes!

Could be worse...you could be a Clemson fan and know that you have that kind of talent and lost to Maryland.

I'm heading up to the roof to send smoke signals for The Truth ... at night, I'll turn on The Truth bat-signal

canesbrewing

Same with me 86Cane, I don't need another shirt just more canespace!!

86Cane

Six...I sent out an APB on The Truth last week. Came back negative, no contact.

I'm guessing that either his girlfriend has him tied up and is spanking him (as it should be) or UM has him locked up behind bars. Either way, not good for us.

JSQ

Been listening to WQAM all day and I would just like to thank the Dolphins for losing once again in a tragically epic fashion so everyone is not focusing on the 'Canes.

86Cane

pb and brewing...no problem. I just like to see everybody at The Shark wearing Canespace, that's all! Well, except for the JSQ of course. LOL

I was at that game too. Canes lost a back and forth thriller. The Dolphins choked like dogs, especially Ginn.

He has singlehandedly cost us two games this season with those backboard hands.

canesbrewing

86Cane, I have the canespace shirt, will be wearing it at the Wake Forest game Saturday.

DZ8

No shirt needed. Thank U though!

DZ8

Whenever I finnaly make it to the Shark, next year hopefully, I will definetly wear my Canespace shirt. Does anybody wear the Sean Taylor shirt to the games? just curious.

That's a suckeye for you. I really think Henne could be great if he had some decent targets.

DZ8

pb

Agree about Ginn. Also Fasano and Ricky Williams did NOT step up when we needed them to.

Dolphins need some good inside LBs and a free safety, we have two strong safetie right now.

I think our receivers will develop and don't think we need to add anything there.

Posted by: JSQ | October 26, 2009 at 02:16 PM

I think the targets (receivers) will develop. It takes a while for receivers to develop in The League and I think Hartline and Turner both have potential. Not ready to give up on Ginn yet, and Bess/Camarillo are good, sure-handed possesion receivers.

As much as I like Ronnie Brown I don't think he has good instincts for a RB and would rather let him go free agent route after this year if he wants mega dollars. RBs are a dime a dozen.

"So to U lazy fans out there who live within driving distance to the stadium and choose to sit at home to watch the game instead of going to The Shark like the REAL fans seen here, U are pathetic. U simply don't love your team like we do."

If you wanted to make some $$$ selling those Sean T #26 shirts is a great idea. I wear mine every game day here in Missouri and I get asked the question"hey, where'd you get that shirt?" about 5 times/day. Of course, I rep the space and tell em but if you had a link that they could buy em I think you'd have a hit on your hands. I know 5 ppl just off the top of my head that have asked me multiple times how to get one.

Just a suggestion....

the question i have is why is everybody so disappointed about another loss. weren't we all on here before the season basically saying that the team would have at least 3 losses? is the season lost if we don't make it to a BCS bowl?

let's be real here. the core of this team is still young and must learn how to win consistently. i was surprised by all the mistakes and penalties yesterday, but when you don't have upperclassmen leading your team the way they should that stuff will happen.

people that are blaming this all on Randy are just sad. first he was great and now he sucks, which is it? we have shown so much improvement since that 5-7 season two years ago and it's only going to get better. are there things that we could've done differently during the game? yes. but hindsight is 20/20 as usual.

how about placing some of the blame on the players and the coordinators. last time i checked the players have to play the game. if they don't get it done, how is that the coaches fault? so if Jacory throws a pick or McCarthy misses a tackle, is that Shannon's fault? i think some of those south Floridians been watching the Dolphins for too long.

im not saying Shannon isn't without fault, but he can't make those tackles and block the d-line. how many people have the balls to say that they could do what these kids are doing on a week to week basis? i thought so.

Issues, issues, issues surrounding your Miami, F-L-A Hurricanes, and Mandigo addressed them in another one of his latest blogs.

And U's know what, I absolutely concur with the big man's sharp take.

Yet, the main concern which is troubling moi is the sideline earthquake, which took place between Shannon and Whipple, and Shannon spinned it like it was much ado about nothing.

Wrong baby! As Manny mentioned, there's more than meets the Eye of the Hurricane, than a disagreement between the parties involved.

I just hope both Coaches Shannon and Whipple let bygones be bygones. Because this Cane squad doesn't need internal DISSENSION among the coaching staff. In other words, a inner circle civil war.

Sorry to personally make U's the scapegoat. But U's asked for it.

First. My criticism of U's is pertaining to your open statement. The rest of your opinion I have no issues with, capice.

For instance, U's could chit can your notion of Miami going 9-3, especially after Team Shannon opened up 3-1. Freak', I'd guess that 97% of loyal Cane fandom were thinking 11-1 after T.K.O'ing F.S.U., Georgia Tech and Oklahoma.

Moreso, 90% of the major college football punidts were even extolling Miami finishing with a 11-1 regular season record, and having a very, very, very good opportunity to play in a B.C.S. bow!

Yes, loyal Cane fandom are absolutely peeved about the OT loss, because that game was winnable!

By the way, U's read it here first. Clemson will win out, and meet Georgia Tech in the A.C.C championship game.

Also, Spence was injured simply because the Clemson blocker INTENTIONALLY went straight for his knee on that block.

Great point DaytonCane. If anyone needs to be blamed for the narrow lost this past Sabado, it's both Whipple and Lovett. No if's, and's or but's!!

Freak, I still can't get it out of my mind how Miami made the kid from Clemson look All-A.C.C. As Mandingo said in his blog, Parker pissed in his jockstrap when he felt a trace of pressure. Sadly, that didn't occur very much on Saturday.

TLuv

I love Mandingo and think all the free information that he gives us is awesome. However, I think he's being too short-sighted to say "Whipple needs to throw more" or "Lovett needed to blitz more." This isn't a damn video game. It's not that easy. There are so many more variables that go into it. Maybe their defense was taking away deep routs or Jacory wasn't making proper reads (he is a soph).

As far as Lovett goes, it's not easy to just say "we're not getting pressure lets blitz every down." Do we have the personnel to blitz? Sean Spence is our best blitzing LB and he was hurt. The next LB I would blitz is C-Mac, but then you don't have him in coverage while Sharpton (his pass defense deficiencies are will documented) is.

I'm not saying there isn't room for improvement, but there is a lot more that goes into it.

Defensive end picks Miami
Saturday, October 24, 2009

By Brian McLaughlin
Sporting News

University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) DE David Perry has committed to Miami, Rivals.com reported. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound strongside defensive end also had LSU, Florida and Florida State in his top four. Alabama, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee are just some of the other schools that have offered Perry.

"I wanted to make sure that was the place I wanted to be, and it was," Perry told Rivals.com. "I spoke to (Miami) coach (Randy) Shannon yesterday and I'll call him again soon. He just told me that I would fit in there. He's doing a great job over there, is taking care of his players and making sure they graduate." Sportignews.com

Hi,

I was the one that gave JSQ the shot of RUM while she was riding away in a carload of people from the stadium. She was suicidal indeed.

Tough loss no doubt. Would love to meet up with you guys at the tailgate for next game.

Go Canes!

Aside from Ricky and Ronnie this team does not have a single skill possession player worth a damn.

Not one.

Fasano and Ginn are by far the worst "Number 1 receiver" and TE combination in the NFL.

I do what I can. The crowd at the Clemson game was shameful. There is no excuse for that, NONE.

Daytoncane

and another thing i don't understand: didn't Boston College make it to the ACC Championship game last year with 4 losses? so why is everyone giving up like this isn't a successful season?

who's to say that va tech will win out? ga tech isn't guaranteed to do it either. if there was ever a time to pull for Randy, it is now. i for one pray that he does morph into a great coach so that he can shut up all the haters. and i would LOVE it if we could rub in some "fans" face when it happens.

canesteeler

One thing that has been a common theme the past 3-4 years is our ability to make average QB's look great! I don't understand the lack of aggressive balling on the defensive side of the ball. Also why would we have an injured LB or a LB at all covering Spiller out of the back field? I love the Canes but damn everytime we think we are progressing that bytch called losing come backs to haunt us!
