UM Basketball Team Remains Perfect: The Hurricane basketball team maintained their perfect record through their first eight games of the 2009-10 season last night by beating Minnesota in Coral Gables. The game was part of the ACC vs Big Ten Challenge which the Big 10 won 6-5.
Freshman Durand Scott scored a season-high 20 points, including consecutive breakaway baskets in the final minute, as the Hurricanes rallyied past Minnesota 63-58. The Hurricanes won their 15th consecutive non-conference regular season game. They've started a season with eight wins in a row four other times, most recently two years ago. Minnesota (4-3) lost its third game in a row.
Malcolm "Foster" Grant scored 16 points off the bench for the Hurricanes, and James "I Have Paid My" Dews added 11. Lawrence Westbrook had 14 points for the Gophers. The lead changed hands five times in the second half before Dwayne "In The Air Tonight" Collins scored with 1:54 left to put Miami ahead for good, 55-53. Minnesota then committed three consecutive turnovers, and two led to easy baskets by Scott to put Miami up 61-53.
The Canes looked good and coasted home from there with a relatively easy win at home.

86 we should try and work out some sort of bowl game bash if we end up in Florida or Georgia..
What you think?

If U can't be Tiger, U might as well be The Shark.

But it's the same shyt, slightly difference size and speed.
Like I said, THANK GOD WE AMERICANIZED THIS JUST LIKE WE AMERICANIZED THAT CORNIEST OF ALL SPORTS....CRICKET.
Posted by: Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer | December 03, 2009 at 01:45 PM
Actually, you're the one that avoids the points and attacks me personally, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the one that's "cornball"
Also, its nothing like hockey. Soccer is like hockey, but without the hits and with a lot more actors.
And saying its the same but with different size and speed is like saying high school football is the same as the pros. Its not. At all.
When you decide you want to have a proper discussion, let me know. But you don't get to dictate right and wrong and make up the rules as you go or use slanted arguments with twisted logic. That may work in grade school, but not here

From there, I could only make it to ATL, Orlando or Jacksonville.
But I want to meet up with the whole crew again and JSQ you best try and make it with some jello shots.

Allen Iverson crying at a press conference? someone must have told him he had to attend every practice.
Posted by: Daytoncane | December 03, 2009 at 08:02 PM
Listening to Coach Shannon on WQAM and he was asked how he felt about FSU getting Gator Bowl bid. He said if I speak on it I'll get in trouble! He doesn't like it at all but said he has no control over it. If not the Gator Bowl, he'd like to go to the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando.
Posted by: bg1906 | December 03, 2009 at 08:04 PM
See BG people were saying Shannon shouldn't care. That is ridiculous.
Ofcourse he can't speak on it because he could get fined but Kirby should certainly be speaking up for his University and threatening the ACC with separation fromt the league due to unfixable damage done to the University ( I dunno making that up LOL)
Posted by: CaneSawMassacre | December 03, 2009 at 08:06 PM
BG was there anything else interesting said?> I couldnt' find the interview posted yet. If you don't mind.

Darion Hall update
Tommie Robinson took an in-home visit with him yesterday and he remains a Cane commitment. He will visit West Virginia, possibly weekend of Dec. 12, and Miami. It's going to come down to those two schools, but for now he does remain a soft commit. And he's not graduating early anymore.
GO CANEZ!!!!!
Posted by: Canez1 | December 03, 2009 at 10:35 AM
He's a goner.
Posted by: SuperCooper | December 03, 2009 at 08:15 PM
Because he doesn't want to come in and compete or can't qualify?
His only other school is WVU - that usually means his grades are the kiss of death.
And shouldn't there be some sort of investigation on how WVU can get any kid into college that they want. I mean I understand their standards are lower but don't they still have to have standards? It is just crazy to me that kids who can't get into any other school in the country make it into WVU.
Posted by: CaneSawMassacre | December 03, 2009 at 08:20 PM
Almost... Has there ever been a word that means absolutly nothing, like the word almost?... I came so close, I could almost smell it. I almost won! I almost got laid!... I almost got the job I've been waiting for all my life!... What a lousey word to mean nothing in the end.
Do you promise to pull it out... too late but I almost did...lol

I almost understood your post Cat5... LOL! What the heck are you commenting on or referring to?>

Oh well... back to football.
WE almost beat Clemson and NC!
Out
Posted by: Cat 5 Cane | December 03, 2009 at 08:43 PM
Darion Hall has been rumored to be no better than a soft "commit" for a while now, and I think he's likely not coming here, too, for a variety of reasons. Fortunately the RB position isn't exactly an area of huge need as long as the rest of the rb class stays intact.
An interesting guy mentioned for 2011 is Kelvin Benjamin, a Glades Central WR who is 6'5", 210 lbs (which, per Solar's interpretation means he is really 5'9", 160 lbs). His top 5 includes the usual suspects, the big 3 of FL and the big 2 of schools where grades in any form aren't necessary, UTenn and WVU. Glades Central is often a tough pull for the U, but we'll see.
On the hoops end, looks like we'll soon get through our tour of S. Carolina schools, having already played S. Carolina and SC Upstate, soon to play SC State and later to get Clemson.

I have no respect for crooked Bowden, his ill-begotten knockoff of UM program, or his trailer park trash fans. The co-eds are all skanks, the Native American Mascot is a white guy in orange-face, and the Gator Bowl is a arm of the insidious conspiracy to reward this man's mediocrity and senility. And a big, preemptive, "F' YOU," to the fraud replacing him as well.
"In the air tonight," Collins, LOL. Very nice there 86.

Tennessee receivers coach Frank Wilson has been offered a position on LSU's coaching staff according to a source close to the hiring process

I don't think he'd be interested in a total rebuild. That's a young man's job. lol
To me, Whip's having fun with his family, with this team and what's upcoming, and then he'll be able to pick and choose between CFB and NFL.
Personally, I think he wants the NFL OC. It would make the most sense

Well we are making a hard push for one of the TOP 10 recruits in the country and if things go as planned he will be visiting in two weeks. That should cheer you up till the official news breaks.
Anybody know whom this alleged recuit might be? Seantrel Henderson/// is the only one I could think of. As he is considering UM and UF for his final visit and Bryant Mckinnie has apparently been chirping in his ear to visit Miami.

Canesaw I do not think so.
Beavers are hot and have taken the lead.

UVA has probably contacted half the current OC's in the country, Whipple's name is in there only because Richt wasn't fired along with the rest of the dawgs.
