FOR U CENTRAL FLORIDA HOME BOYS THAT MISSED THE GAME...

Coach Haith saw Rashad and I walking up to the court to take his picture and he walked right over to us and shook our hands.

No words were exchanged but the eye contact was all that needed to be said!

Thats how we roll!!! lol

MM01, you're not just saying this because you met the young man personally are you? haha j/k.

If Team Shannon think enough of him to give him THAT number, he must be something.

mm01 here, you bet. His instincts are good, he's quick, makes quick reads, and just makes plays.

Don't sleep on Devont'a Davis either. Kid just makes plays, too. Not afraid to tackle, and saw him and Kevin literally take over a game in the second half to win. No offense, just Kevin and Devont'a willing their team to a win. What UM needs on defense...

PLAYMAKERS

miamimike01

Kevin doesn't possess great top end speed, but does have enough to make plays sideline-to-sideline. (4.65, I would guess) He has a great frame which will allow him to bulk up. He's better against the pass than Sharpton could ever hope to be. Gets into his zone coverages quickly and has instincts on whether or not to attack the ball carrier.

Devont'a, IMO, is more of a zone coverage CB. (I would guess 4.65) Could even move to safety with his comfort level with contact. Not blazing fast either, which is why safety, after a RS year, might be his best bet. He's 6'0, 165 now. After his SO(RS) year, should be around 185, 190. That's when I believe he'll start to break out.

Kevin, I don't see being RS'ed. Blustein said J. Johnson is ready now, but I have to put Kevin in that category, too. Special Teams to start. Might even get some Nickel snaps b/c of his understanding of pass coverages.

Folks, I've seen these kids practice. Took in a WHOLE PRACTICE before the interviews.

GHS coaches well, and Kevin and Devont'a only playing defense helps in their development as defenders.

UM STOLE TWO PLAYMAKERS from Gainesville. From Urban's backyard.

Doesn't that warm your heart?

miamimike01

Devont'a is prolly slightly faster than Kevin, at this point. Maybe closer to 4.6. UM can shave that time to around 4.45 by the time he leaves school.

I expect Kevin to bulk up, stay around the 4.65, 4.7 range. That's fast enough to play MLB. Quickness is better than pure speed at MLB.

Hassan great to meet U and Mrs 86 last night. Jean especially enjoyed Mrs 86 company at the game. My wife is not a sports fan she goes with me now just to get out of the house. She told me that she liked BB beter than FB because of being closer to the action. I was hoping to see the pic 86 took of U and the Stetson cheerleaders HaHA.

Fran

BTW I hated the hatters hats. 86 must have liked them he bought one for Mrs 86

So no words needed form Haith, huh?

Your reputation precedes you!

Did you give the Coach a shirt 86?

Haith needs to start blogging on The Space!

Totally off topic, but I STILL wish Arthur Brown could see some "significant" playing time next year. I really feel like when he gets on the field, good things happen.

FREE ARTHUR!

Calvin

herbal minded a.k.a. hm with a great breakdown of sharpton and ab, especially on noting that 10 yard burst.

miamimike01

canechic,

our prayers are with you and your father. May God bless you in many ways.

miamimike01

I guess I'm the swing shift.

Are you bringing Angry and your son to the bowl game?

canechic

thanks miamimike, yes we are all going to the game. I bought the kids tickets in sec 314 and I think 86 said Angry and I will sit with him in 304.

I hope I can get off work early....it has been a bit crazy around my work.

miamimike01

awesome. U guys coming to the tailgate in Lot S?

canechic

Yes I bought a ticket to park in A and I am sure we will be in S with the rest of the spacers.

No the Canespace "shirt of the night" went to Joe Zagacki. He gave us a shout out on the radio!

I think 86 said Angry and I will sit with him in 304.

Our seats are 314 also.

Lot A is close to Lot S.

miamimike01

Can't wait to see U and introduce you my best Hurricane Buddy, Kyle. He has a son of 9.

We call each other several times through the week, at halftime to discuss strategies and personel, and after the game to discuss why we won or lost. I met him in 2003 in Shreveport, LA, @ the LA TECH game.

Somehow, he snuck on the field an led the the team through the smoke, was on the sideline through the first quarter before he was asked for a sideline pass and quickly came back into the stands.

We've traveled to each other's houses to watch FSU and VT games, us living in CO and he in OK. We've been best friends ever since.

Can't wait for him to meet all my Spacer buddies. Christmas for me and Randy...

Fran good seeing you and Jean!

U will see Rashad's picture with the cheerleaders later today. PROMISE!

miamimike01

Our North Carolina halftime chat was off the chain. I'm glad no one else but Randy, and maybe a few neighbors, heard that.

Both of us were furious with playcalling and execution. As were most of all of us...

miamimike01

I already challenge two adults and one kid to a game. I guarantee a victory for team Bradley and Goins.

Who wants some?

Mangino to receive $3 million settlement ===

Lawrence, KS (Sports Network) - Former Kansas head football coach Mark Mangino
will receive a $3 million settlement from the school's athletics program as
part of an agreement signed last week.

Mangino, who resigned earlier in this month after an internal review, had four
years remaining on his contract. The total worth of Mangino's contract was
$9.2 million.

The settlement will be paid using private funds raised by Kansas athletics,
not state taxpayer funds.

The internal review was supposedly related to player concerns about verbal and
physical abuse, though Mangino repeatedly denied any wrongdoing regarding the
allegations against him.

Mangino was named consensus national coach of the year in 2007, but the
Jayhawks went 5-7 this past season after losing their last seven games.
Mangino left Kansas with a 50-48 record that included the school's first ever
BCS bowl win, against Virginia Tech at the 2008 Orange Bowl.

miamimike01

Man, I can't wait. Christmas hasn't been this kind in a decade.

Miami will win. Close. 23-17.

Clay will have over 100 YDS, but it wont be enough. Speed on offense, and Whipple with time to prepare will be the difference.

Hope to meet other Spacers at future games. Go Canes!

Special Message to CaneChic: Our thoughts and prayers are with you...

Looking forward to seeing U & Ur's at the bowl game.

Calvin nice post with the Herbal Minded link. He had a good breakdown of AB and Sharpton. I think AB will get his due time, people act like he has failed and he still has two years left to ball out. AB's problem must be communicating with the others on D. The MLB is usually the QB of the defense, and that encompases more than just see ball get ball. Once AB gets down the mental aspect of the game he will be lights out

Betting odds... Get your pop corn!

Miami giving 3 points with a over/under at 59.... equates to Miami 31, Wisc 28!!!

I don't think the Badgers can hang 28 on the Canes... not with our guys getting healthy, although I do see Jacory putting up big numbers on the mountain weasels.

Canes 41/20
If Jacory uses his head and not his balls.

Cat 5 Cane

Other not so important games

NC getting 3 playing Pitt. (NC)

BC getting 9.5 playing USC... (BC)

Stanford getting 8 playing Okla (Stanford)

Tenn getting 4 playing VT. (Tenn)

FSU getting 3 playing WV. (FSU)

Cinci getting 10.5 playing FLA. (Cinci)

Iowa getting 4 playing GT. (Iowa)

Texas getting 5 playing Bama. (Texas)

We don't need InsidetheU! We have all the info here! :-)

CFGG, check the comments on the previous 2 blogs - do a control-F search for Chandler and you will find all the info.

Canestruck

ITU is reporting we never offered Chandler to begin with. If this is true and the University did not admit this; big blunder in my eyes. Opinion?

JSQ

Canechic, I just wanted to let you know you and your dad are in my thoughts and prayers. My mom and I are looking forward to seeing you and your family at the Champs tailgate!

Rudy has passion towards Um football but he is a little immature when looking at reality. He wants to bring the old image of Miami back. He doesn't understand if you put these things in order you want have to go back in time with our bad boy image.

1. Execution
2. play aggressive
3. Have fun

Also, we will beat teams with our CHOIR BOY behaving team. U don't have to act like a thug to get someones attention...JUST BEAT THE SH@#$$#@T OUT OF THEM LIKE BRUCE LEE.

JSQ

I'm with you, Trout. The 2000-2002 Canes were good boys (at least as far as football players go) and they beat the ish out of opponents. I don't want that old image back and I think Randy is trying to do things the right way.

It would be an NCAA violation to mention the kids name. There is no way we could deny it without doing just that.

Sorry I missed the BB game last night. Would have been nice to meet some spacers.

Miami has 9 players "Out for the season".
More then any other team in the BCS. Which seems to average about 4 players.

It's a Good Thing he changed the practices...

Oklahoma sliding in 2 place and Texas is 3rd.

Something like 11 players suspended on 12-10-09........ for 1/2 the bowl.

Good thing Randy wasn't giving out the punishment!.. They would miss next years bowl too!
