I don't mean to put a damper on the ol' scholastic fire, but when have started measuring UM's greatness by academics? A 9-3 or even 10-3 is a nice record, but I would much rather have fatigues and a BCS bowl.

chris

I went to check the flowing lock on 86's head and bam new artical. Its funny how they brung up Myron Rolle all the time but failed to mention this little nugget.

chris

86, Did you have a goody's in the back pocket?

The Truth

CSM

CSM

You're young. None of that matters. You think it does. It feels like it does. But it's all about perpective and the reality is your position at a job doesn't define you. Money - which is, I'm sure, you're biggest worry, comes and goes. You'll make the money you're losing now a thousand times over in the future.

You're a newlywed and you have your family close. That's your focus. That's what matters.

Lose any of them and this work BS will seem so petty in comparison.

Perspective.

Life is good. Enjoy it, no matter what.

No go curl up to your wife and breathe in every bit of her essence and love and stop stressing. Another job will come.

The love of your life only happens once.

Trust me on this..

Cat5 asks...Logo Stickers... Hey!!!

APR report with more details. Shows Miami's domination off the field and in the classroom:

Thank you Cat5, Fighting Ibis and Calvin you brought tears to my eyes...Thank you, Thank you! I am going down to Miami Saturday and I really like the Cancer Treatment Centers of America but it will take some convincing because my dad is very old fashion in his thinking.

CC, so glad to catch you on here.

Our prayers are with you ok?

Keep the faith, my mom is a breast cancer survivor.

Cat 5 Cane

Have you noticed the Gator's are becoming docile again... Yeah, they know deep inside that their dominance of the BCS is evaporating in front of their eyes. Tebow is showing signs of being human and can no longer carry the team by himself... Florida had a great run, but it's over and nothing else to do but accept the fact... of being a little above average in 2010.

Time is ticking down for Miami to emerge back to dominating the BCS... It's nothing but Canes Time, boyz... Strap it up and ride'em hard!

That is RIGHT Fran! You don't need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Canechic...on behalf of Mrs. 86, myself and the entire Canespace family, we want to offer our support and prayers to U in your time of need. May God bless U and your family during this difficult time.

May faith, hope and love find U this Holiday season.

Be strong, Hurricane strong.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hollidays and Festivus etc... Enjoy every occasion you have with him and everyone else you care about.

roachcane77

Love the Weekend at Bobby's poster... well done! Nice article overall!

Yes, FSU apparently has an UNBELIEVABLE number of LD students... just a coincidence that they are almost all on their football and basketball teams... hmmm...

Cat 5 Cane

Chic...
I know what you're going thru... Helene's mother went thru the treatments twice at 6 months apart and it was difficult. Eventually giving in, stopping the treatment for quality of life for about a year and time to enjoy the remaining time together...

Hopefully this helps... Remember the passing is not forever. If you believe, then it's only a short intermission until we see each other again!

DZ8

I apologize for discussing politics.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP)—Miami football practices are closed to the public. Unless, of course, the public is Bill Parcells and Alex Rodriguez.

The 14th-ranked Hurricanes had some star power at their final two workouts at their home facility this season. Rodriguez—the third baseman for the World Series champion New York Yankees, and whose name adorns the adjacent baseball stadium on Miami’s campus—watched practice Tuesday. He works out at the school regularly during his offseason.

Parcells, the Miami Dolphins’ executive vice president of football operations, was there for Wednesday’s workout, joined by Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland.

Miami center A.J. Trump says “the past couple days have been awesome.”

Miami (9-3) faces No. 24 Wisconsin (9-3) on Tuesday in the Champs Sports Bowl at Orlando, Fla.

Faith in God, not government.

And CSM, a lot of people get that slap in the face at least once from employer. But like Vince (canesteeler) pointed out it can be a blessing for one reason or another. Time will tell.

And I just ordered that fios double play. Tell me I won't be disappointed.

Canez1

CC keep your head up GF!!

Having lost someone near and dear to me just a few months ago I know what you are going through.

The holidays just aren't the same....

All you can do is keep up the fight and push on.

Working in the medical field for quite some time I was always told by the doctors never to visit your doctor or get any tests done during the holidays.

It is bad news for sure.

Anyway our thoughts are with you and the fam.

Looking forward to finally meeting you on Tues.

GO CANEZ!!!!!

Cat 5 Cane

Being a Vet, I fought for your right to speak, but your opinion and statements of traitors and execution belongs somewhere else... and Strongly Suggest to use caution when speaking of eliminating government.

No politics!

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

He's not perfect, but he does a good job overall and he can recruit. I just wish guys would be fair with his assesment and not only bash him when things go wrong, but give him his proper due when things go right.

BG, Fluzzi's doing a good job at TE, not great, and he seems to be doing well with the kickers. I say seems because it's well known that Shannon's worked a lot with those guys.

But the point is, STs have absolutely SUCKED for the last four years, worse this year than any other. And all Fluzzi does is MAKE EXCUSES. I, for one, wouldn't be so irate if he just owned up and said, "We're not getting it done and I need to figure out how. It's cost us possibly two games this year outright and never won a game this year. "

But no. He just makes excuses.

Could not express how Jean & I feel any better. Jean lost her youngest sister at 57 just last year in Deland to recurring breast cancer In our case Hospice OF The Comforter was outstanding in the last 2 weeks and thats where our charity $ and usable goods go.

solarcane

CSM,
what canesteeler and Truth said.

Five years ago my wife and I left fantastic jobs voluntarily to come take care of my mom in law

We make less than 2/3 of our previous salaries and I lost vehicle, gas, health insurance vacation, sick days etc,

Working for myself here and doing quality work, getting my name established has me rising back up.

Life is only what you make it.

If everything is a burden, than you will always be too weak to overcome any of it.

If everything is a challenge you will get stronger and more confident.

DZ8

Just don't do it on the SPACE please.

solarcane

CaptO and I were discussing the perspective of how people look at their lives.

If you ask an American what he does he will answer,
I'm a doctor, Im a lawyer, I'm a farmer

If you ask most Europeans what he does he will answer

I like to hunt and fish, sometimes I take walks in the forest with my dog.

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

Solar, very true. It's a double-edged sword of ours.

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

Truth, I was going to repost your above post. It's very sage advice. CSM will relax and see the bigger picture.

To quote Calvin, Coop will definitely get Greg Threated if he comes back. If Miller gets his blocking down, and Berry does the same, and Mike James adds a gear, he'll be battling Chambers.

I wouldn't want to see Coop go out like that. He's been True U since he arrived on campus and played hard every time he was on the field.

Take the money and run son.

DallasTX Cane

Cav, why include JFK on your list?

Speaking on non-sports, but not political things... it was 75 deg here in Dallas yesterday, i was sweating. now its 39 deg and raining with snow expected after noon - "blizzard like conditions" with 40mph winds & wind chills into the teens. fun.

solarcane

You guys are making some great valid points
If we need to we can run one of those off the main blog debate deals.
I'm sure 86Cane would be Ok with it.

I'll chat with you guys when I get to North Carolina in a few,
My phone just make calls, I can barely do that lol

I try never to get upset or disappointed when a kid leaves early. IF the $$ is a sure thing, U'd be almost insane not to take it. IF U are smart with it, even a "little" NFL money can set U up for life. Too many things can happen to knock U off that path. IMO, if U're 3rd round or better...go

Cav I don't know about Coop getting Greg Threated. Coop is the second fasted RB, The best receiving threat at RB, The best blocking RB sans JJ, and contributes on ST. And I thought that Threat's problems where more with the coaches than his on feild play.

Agian I think we should all want Coop to return because this problem at RB is a very good problem to have. Remember a few years when all we had was Derron Thomas. RB take a pounding so the more the merrier.

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

MM01, I'm not worried about this game AT ALL. I'm looking forward to the beatdown actually.

I might be wrong, of course. Wizzy might bring a little bit on the LOS but I think this team, staff and players included in that word, is gellin' and I think the rest and the near month of prep time will make all the difference in the world.
