CBS has the Canes in the Champs Bowl. Canes will have to bring their A-game against the Badgers. FSU destroyed them last year in the bowl game, but Wisc. is much better this year. Canes can do it, and a 10-win season might be enough to put the Canes in or near the top 10, and launch them to a BCS run next season.

For the Badgirls its going to feel like the Chumps bowl.. we gonna make chumps out of those girls.

miamimike01

86, call me

MM01 and RandyCane are going to the Bowl Game and will get tickets and a room for the night of the game.

Do you have any info on where to stay or where Canes fans will stay? I am ready to buy tickets but would like some info from you.

Lou of M

The Gator bowl had a ticket package. Does anyone know if the champs bowl has one too?

miamimike01

moneycane, you and Nikki in?

canechic

Nope lou of M but you can get tickets as low as $25 and I am sure it will not sell out.

moneycane

Mike Nikki and I will be at the bowl game too. Where are you getting tickets from. I'm on the P90x but I might have to make an exception for the bowl game

canechic

The canechic household is in with a few tag along's I am sure. But I will be dead tired from work...really wanted a Jan 1 bowl.

Wow that Iowa GT game will just suck!

BEERicane

canechic,

what is your reasoning behind the iowa GT game sicking?

It should be a good game, but iowa has the potential to make it really ugly.

JC

Canechic, Jan 1 first bowls dont matter anyore. Look at the crap bowls taking place between the 1st and the 7th. The important thing is to have a good matchup where hopefully you can feel good about winning and get some momentum going into next year. I don't see much of a difference between WVU and Wisconsin. Both have been ranked and unranked this season.

Technically the Gator Bowl is the second most prestigious of the ACC tie-ins (although the conference won't have that tie-in next year), but honestly I'd rather play in a game against any other BCS league than the Big East. We already know the Canes own those programs.

Wisconsin will be a tougher out because of how bad they were last year. They will be motivated not to suck twice in a row. FSU will play inspired for Bobby, might even out the talent gap between them and WVU. They can play relatively well and have beat decent teams like UNC. Can't say WVU is heads and shoulders better than UNC.

conch salad

Anyone know whats up with the seating chart for the game? Anyone know what Section GA2 means?

my advice to all looking for a hotel is priceline. In Tampa for USF game we stayed at Intercontinental 4 star for $44...

Google priceline message board and search Florida / Orlando to get an idea of what to bid and what you can expect to get. Also got one last month in Atlanta - 4 star in Buckhead, Grand Hyatt for $60

canechic

JC only meant because I have the day off and it is a Friday so I do not have to work the next day.

moneycane

Got tickets sitting in section 208 row p. see you guys there.

 Esteban

JC, look up and down the rosters and probably would give the edge to FSU in overall talent.

Wisconsin won't be able to hang with us. Speed kills.

canechic

Canez 1 have you been to the Citrus Bowl before? The best hotels are down by Disney and I drive. But I think the Marriot in downtown Orlando is pretty nice. Remember this is Orlando not Miami so you do not get a beach view, lol!

 Esteban

and I gotta agree with JC on the crap part of the comment above.

I don't want to see Boise vs TCU. Want to see them against the big boys, not against each other. Would have loved to see TCU vs UF. And Boise vs Cincy. BCS vs non BCS schools.

canechic

You guys are really excited to see Iowa play anyone....that is what I meant...it's the Orange Bowl and that to me is a dud of a game.

Does we have news on Jason Fox?

Will he play in the bowl game?

How's is health ( he had irregular heart beats)...

Miami to face Wisconsin in Champs Sports BowlEmail Print Share Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Miami will face Wisconsin in the Dec. 29 Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando with a chance for its first 10-win season since 2003.

The No. 14 Hurricanes (9-3) are hoping to use the game to propel themselves into next year and perhaps get a higher preseason ranking. Miami has improved in each of the three years under coach Randy Shannon, and next season's expectations will be even higher.

They can get a head start with a win over the Badgers.

No. 24 Wisconsin (9-3) will be playing in their second straight Champs Sports Bowl. And they'll be looking for a better result after getting walloped 42-13 by Florida State a year ago.

Wisconsin will be Miami's first Big Ten opponent since the Hurricanes lost to Ohio State in the 2002 BCS national title game.

Canez1

CC I was looking at the bohemian.

Looks really nice and reasonably priced

GO CANEZ!!!!!

JC

Iowa fans came down in force when they got stomped by USC in 2002. Pity they didn't get a chance to play OSU though, just another feather in the '02 Luckeye cap.

Este I was thinking the same thing. Good call Fiesta Bowl, giving us a rematch of the Poinsetta Bowl from last year or basically the Liberty Bowl every year before that. Would much rather see those two teams play Iowa and GT.

BTW, don't know if anyone realized, but our next big game is against Ohio State after our scrimmage with Florida A&M. Playing a Big 10 team is a good warm-up for that style. I'm sure the coaches will realize this.

shwarma

Canez I would go Bohemian as CC said. Also, are tix not cheaper via the champsbowl site?

JSQ

Newcomer of the Year Award - Mike James

That's my LOF!!!! Way to go, Smiley!!!

canechic

Canez 1 - I have been to luncheon's there and have had friends from Miami stay there and they all had great stays. It is closer to the Citrus Bowl than Disney or I-Drive. They have really spruced up downtown around the hotel...you can walk to night life and great coffee in the morning.

canechic

Shwarma you can get upper level seats for $25. I am sure it will not sellout so you can probably sit anywhere you want.

JSQ

Just got my tickets. 30 yard line, row 6. (Ridiculously cheap - got them the same price as the 300 level, so I went against the 86 move-around theory of ticket purchase) and my mom has booked her flight from good old Springfield, Missouri!

Look out, Orlando - you have 200 orange and green jello shots coming to town!

GO 'CANES!!!

Canez1

Shwarm I think I am gonna go with that hotel.

CC and I are on the same page ;)

At the Champs site they were a little cheaper but not much. I wanted better ones though.

The issue is flights are gonna cost me $1200 alone. WTF!!!

Are the seats bleachers or individual seats like Landshark??

GO CANEZ!!!!!

Canez1

CC I think we are going to make a little vaca out of it and stay for New Years Eve so it actually works out perfect.

Thanks for the heads up!!

GO CANEZ!!!!!

JSQ

I have stayed in the Grand Bohemian for work a number of times. It's very nice and close to some good restaurants.

I think we are driving up the morning of and driving back after the game. It's only about 2 and 1/2 hours. Probably 1 hour 45 minutes the way I drive. Tampa only took me 3 hours! haha.

Already planning the tailgate menu! GO 'CANES!!!

canechic

Bleachers you guys be prepared I do not kid when I say a dump....the orange bowl looks great compared to the Citrus Bowl.

darCANEgel

Does anyone care about Phish? I got two tix to tues and NYE...both in Miami

either way I'm going to Orlando for our bowl game so if y'all want Phish tix in Mia, digame --- otherwise, they'll be on stubhub...great seats

Gotta goto Orlando ---

Did anyone else have this problem this season:

You wake up...Sat morning...thinking you'd catch a college football game at noon --- gameday ends you get a big 11 debacle -- w/ a woman announcer --- WTF???

fair enough -- it's a game like NW, or MSU, Iowa or WI

...well...here we go --

WI is our team...
lets do it.

We'll be there --- in O town --- cant f-in wait

Canez, that is ridiculous on flights. So happy I moved to FLA last month. This is the first game I actually have been down for and think I am going to go to. Just waiting to make sure my buddies can get off work.

List of team awards is listed below. Jacory wasn't even a recipient of one award... Anybody suprised? Or maybe think Jacory asked it to be this way? Give me your thoughts.

How do you guys feel about the Champs bowl against Wisconsin...? I'll be there on the 29th. Do we have a standing roll call yet? I really am pissed about the principle of the Gator Bowl, but I'll be pleased to see FSU get curb stomped by WVU. Then we will see if all those FSU fans keep talking. I also think that the ACC should have fined or set some time of other punishment against the Gator but.. Phuck it, these young guys better have a chip on their shoulder for next year.

Anybody have any matchup insight on Wisconsin? Pretty productive offense, statistically ranked higher than us, big RB 6'1 250 1300 yards on the ground. But they have only beaten two winning teams in Northern Illinois and some other garbage squad..... Pretty dissapointing. They shouldn't be able to keep up with us speed wise but they might pound it on our D if they are not ready to bang for the first few quarters..

Let me know waht you think on the Space!!

" I think we are going to make a little vaca out of it and stay for New Years Eve "

Heres a guy that spends 4 or 5 hours a day talking about the Canes, flys all over the country with an at least 100x upgrade pure babe hangin on his arm, and he needs a little vacation to knock the stress off his pitiful boring azz life

cripes lol!
