RBLCane

GO CANES!

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

CSM, those awards are almost always for seniors and players who won't receive any national awards. Jacory's already received more awards in the conference than any Cane has received since 2002. He's fine.

MVP- Fox...MY LOF...

Texascane

It's just a reminder to Jacory that if he throws 7 interceptions instead of 17...we're playing 'Bama on January 7.

SJMPARMAN

Here's hoping the Canes are ticked off enough to dominate the game. No calling off the attack dogs. Dominate it for 60 minutes and then ask the clock keeper for a recount. No excuses, no b.s. just kick WI from one end of Orlando to the next. I don't want to see more than 10 first downs for WI, and I expect nothing less than 35 points from the Canes.

I have seen alot of WI games this year, my boss is from there so I watched just to be able to talk to him on Monday, and they are the worst 9-3 team in the country. They are slow, and unimaginative on Offense. They have no deep passing game at all. Their Defense is good against the run but they have zero team speed in the secondary. Last time we played them, we beat them 51-3. This game could be alot worse.

How do you beat a corrupt system that the bowls have become? You embarass them for thinking WI is even near a worthy opponent for you. This game should be a UM blow out. My boss complained about FSU speed last year. He ain't seen nothing yet.

And if he throws 13 TDs instead of 23 we are home tonight wishing we could get to the Meineke Muffler Bowl.

moneycane, made RSVP @ a Hampton Inn. Bringing my best Cane Buddy and his son (9) to the bowl.

We will purchase tix in 209, all 4 of us sitting together. He's flying in on the 28th, driving early to the game the 29th, spending the night, he's flying back the 30th.

It'll be cool to spend a couple of days with my best U buddy and his son; Christmas comes a few days late, but that's ok. Especially considering our circumstances.

I can't wait. This is a good matchup, and I'll be able to share it with my best friends. Moneycane and wife, too. This is going to be one of the best Christmas's ever.

GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

miamimike01

Thank you, SOUP, for making this possible. All your effort and hard work is paying off.

I've had some of the MOST MEMORABLE moments of my life b/c of canespace.

Thank you, from the bottom of my UM Heart.

I know ALL U folks take SOUP and his effort for granted, (sometimes) but he's brought this site to unbelievable heights. And I'm proud to to apart of it...

This is the BEST UM site out there. I enjoy ALL your opinions and the discussion is lively.

Being apart and contributing to this site has been a joy.

Thank You, 86, for all U do and to make this possible.

GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cat 5 Cane

Champ (Perfect Bowl)... I got my wish!!! and of the lesser bowls we got the best for us, given the location and probable weather forcast... As anything north of the Fla border would have been a much hard challenge for us, right now.

Love the Wisc. match-up too and this game is a great opportunity to show our strengths on both sides of the ball.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Florida playing Cinci... Forget the chomp, th Gators are in trouble!

Cinci Wins this hands down.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Newcomer Award - Mike James...Ohhh Yeah!

But I don't see Brown's name on the list? Must be a type-o error.... Oh wait a moment, there he is, all the way down on the bottom, in (fine) small print...
"Special" Player Award... Arthur Brown.
Given to the most likely to succeed but didn't.

Cat 5 Cane

My Man Brown!
For those who don't know, Brown is my guy since the beginning and I'm still holding on and will continue to hold on.
Last weeks game where we saw him crush a few players at the end of the game, is just the beginning and hopefully he'll get some more time in against Wisc.

Next Year starts his season... Go Brown!

Cat 5 Cane

Awards???
Missing allot of categories..Nah screw that, missing allot of players, period!!!

Starting out with Damien Berry... Maybe the best MVP the last 5 games. I'm impressed!!! Most TD's and highest rushing average, running up the gut while breaking tackles!!!

Damien Berry... 89att, 587yards, 6.6average, 49-longest, 8TD's... Wow, what a surprise!

This kid is NFL bound!

Tell us more... stay close to the officers??? gangs? robbers? bad fans? Trouble makers from rival schools?...What?

canechic

Cat 5 sadly it is not in a very good neighborhood.

Texascane

Maybe if we had played up the fact to the Gator Bowl that Wisconsin is where Shalala began her career as President and she will end her educational career at Miami, we could have gotten the bowl over FSU and Bobby...

Just sayin'...

U are correct sir! We would have beaten UNC and Clemson and I would have been in Tampa watching The U instead of The Yellow Jackets win the ACC title.

Cat 5 Cane

Well, I guess if going into a war zone, the only thing left to do is to dress for it...

Everybody Camouflage fatigues with Hunter orange vests and a big gun... it's Badger season!

Looking Out For No. 1:

As Shakespeare wrote, "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown." But as Mel Brooks said, "It's good to be the king." Who's right? In the BCS era, The Bard gets the nod: The AP preseason No. 1 has ended the season ranked No. 1 only twice since 1998.

Season Final No. 1 AP preseason rank:

2008 Florida 5
2007 LSU 2
2006 Florida 6
2005 Texas 2
2004 USC 1
2003 USC 8
2002 Ohio St. 13
2001 Miami, Fla. 2
2000 Oklahoma 19
1999 Florida St. 1
1998 Tennessee 10

Tiger is NOT alone:

The most consistent data on infidelity come from the General Social Survey, sponsored by the National Science Foundation and based at the University of Chicago, which has used a national representative sample to track the opinions and social behaviors of Americans since 1972.

The survey data show that in any given year, about 10 percent of married people — 12 percent of men and 7 percent of women — say they have had sex outside their marriage.

But detailed analysis of the data from 1991 to 2006, to be presented next month by Dr. Atkins at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies conference in Orlando, show some surprising shifts. University of Washington researchers have found that the lifetime rate of infidelity for men over 60 increased to 28 percent in 2006, up from 20 percent in 1991. For women over 60, the increase is more striking: to 15 percent, up from 5 percent in 1991.

The researchers also see big changes in relatively new marriages. About 20 percent of men and 15 percent of women under 35 say they have ever been unfaithful, up from about 15 and 12 percent respectively.

Fat Charlie says these comments about Pete Carroll "were taken out of context"...

According to the interview transcript from IrishIllustrated.com senior editor Tim Prister, Weis responded: "Let me ask you this question: You guys know about things that go on in different places. Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news.

"He's doing it in Malibu and it's not national news. What's the difference? I don't understand. Why is it OK for one guy to do things like that, but for me, I'm scrutinized when I swear. I'm sorry for swearing; absolve my sins."

Weis was referring to a 2006 "60 Minutes" profile that showed him swearing and caused a minor stir, but the root of his reference to Carroll's alleged living arrangement had been unclear. Carroll is married with three children and a grandchild.

What a joke...

Old Skool

If you believe the tabloids, there are now 9 women claiming to have had affairs with Tiger.
Let's see, you got a very wealthy guy who's been constantly traveling a week here a week there for years, the opportunities must be immense.

The next thing I imagine we'll be seeing is something like the Verizon coverage map showing all the areas where there are women claiming to be Tiger bait.

"Infidelity is definitely on the rise because of technology," Houston said.

Even in innocuous ways, the Internet can bring together aspiring adulterers. After all, the Web is quick to sort users into affinity groups. Two people who meet in a dedicated chat room already have some interest in common, and that can foster a rapid sense of intimacy.

"Women, especially, crave emotional intimacy," Houston said. "E-mail or chatting can start off innocently, but if there are actual connections, relationships develop quickly."

In any case, adulterers are slow to grasp that modern communication devices are not nearly as private and secure as many people believe. Just ask South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, whose e-mails to his mistress, Maria Belen Chapur, were first made public by The State, a Columbia, S.C., newspaper.

Kwame Kilpatrick, the former mayor of Detroit, suffered a similar turn in the electronic pillory. Some 6,000 text messages from his mistress' pager were posted online by The Detroit Free Press and helped lead to his conviction on perjury charges.

Those politicians are certainly not the only ones to be caught with their virtual pants down. Digital technology, which has democratized almost everything it touches, is making adultery accessible to the masses.

Rashad Reed

86 Im down. I'd like to sit with everyone. I'll be solo since Legend will be with his family up in New Jersey.

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

We should beat the snot out of Wisconsin, worse than FSU did last year. This will give OSU some good things to think about this off-season.

WVU vs a Ponder-less FSU should be a good game. Otherwise, FSU should win it walking away. But WVU's been playing stingy defense the last few games so they might hand Jimbo his head on a platter.

CaneSawMassacre

This could turn out to be really fun if we get a big squad up there at the game.

Then we wouldn't have to worry about the shady neighborhood, since we would be rolling 10-15 deep.

Lou of M

We need to remove that ACC patch for the bowl game. Fu@k the acc for allowing this garbage with F$U to happen.

I had the same thought - that would be beautiful.

My co-workers are being downright MEAN today. Bitter and nasty. I thought they would be silent and embarrassed - instead they are attacking the 'Canes and talking to each other about how they "were in it until the 4th quarter." Yeah, and Kirk Herbstreit and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary. DELUSIONAL CROCS!!!!

CaneSawMassacre

I'm down with that Lou of M...

Actually a very interesting and cool way to protest the nonsense without having to forfeit our bowl. I'm sure we would get fined but it might be worth it.

JSQ

86, did you see the e-mail from ESPN sent 20 minutes ago? She wants you to confirm.

CaneSawMassacre

LMAO - cocky gator b8stards have the SEC championship game automatically as part of their schedule.

Captain Optimist aka Cavaleer

What a steaming load of complete monkey crap the BCS is

I feel bad for TCU and Boise State. Make them play the "big" boys - oh wait, that might prove that they actually deserve to be there

Just like Jimmy Johnson said, in a 1 game format, I'll take my chances with TCU and Boise State against Iowa, Ohio State, etc. and I bet they'd beat them

As it always is, the BCS is garbage, pure and simple

Posted by: Six | December 06, 2009 at 09:22 PM

>>>>>

Boisie has 10 chances to schedule real games with the big boys every year and they don't. I feel no sympathy for them whatsoever. If OSU played their schedule they'd be undefeated too.

Until Boisie and those other schools schedule five or six real teams every year they have no room for any sort of argument.

TCU has a little bit of room since they played Clemson at home and beat them. But why don't they play the TX schools...TT, A&M at least??

You get no respect until you earn respect and playing one ranked team a year when you have a month to prepare for it is not impressive.

I think the world of Petersen as a coach but at some point he's got to play some, not just one a year, legitimate teams to deserve that lofty BCS ranking.
