It's beyond laughable. It's mind numbing. Can you imagine if there had been even 1/3 the number of arrests or incidents at the U. The world would be calling for the complete and permanent disbanding of our football program.

The best of the best. The top 1% of the top 1%.

Where's the outrage? Where's the OTL report on ESPN? What's it going to take? Some incredibly henious crime? That's where it's headed.

There is one grill and one grill only that is above and beyond all others.....The EGG. Once you cook on one, you will never want to grill on anything else (gas or charcoal).

UMike - like I said before, just don't over train your muscles or else all the hard work you've put in will be wasted

The only time they grow is when you rest

I know you have an event you want to shape up for in the near future, but a lot of peeps that try to do that by spending too much time working out, end up over training and it does no good

It's not all about how much time you spend working out - I remember laughing my ass off every time I'd hear chicks back in the day talk about how Britney Spears would do 200 sit ups a day and that's why she looked so good on the cover of (fill in the blank) magazine

Uh .. no. Doing 200 sit ups a day isn't going to do that - diet is. Your abs, just like every other muscle in your body, need adequate rest in order to grow. Everyone has a six pack underneath, it's just the layer of whatever you have on top of it that keeps the world from seeing it. Yes, doing the sit ups will help develop the muscle so when your bodyfat is reduced, the muscles will come out fuller - but, without the proper diet and burning of calories to shed that fat layer on your belly, it's not going to show that much. Whatever you see on the cover of a magazine, don't believe the hype ... that pic or pics are there to help sell the magazine

When you over train, it's when you tear down your body faster than it can regenerate and repair itself. You know that sore feeling you have after you work out? Those are small tears in your muscles - the rest you get helps your body rebuild those tears and make your muscle stronger. If you don't give your body rest, you're not going to make any progress and actually start declining

Something that might help a little is getting some Glutamine and using it daily. Pretty cheap stuff and it will help in recovery. Go to a Vitamin Shoppe or Vitamin World if you have one near you - get the powder form, mix it into your protein drink after you workout .... and you better be getting something with at least 35-45 grams of protein in it within 20 minutes after you working out. That's optimal feeding time for your body and your muscles are starving - make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day as well, too much protein and not enough water will strain your kidneys

raize,
yea the Egg is a sweet grill.
My friend lets me cook on his when I go over there. That tells you something when a grill master lets somebody else scorch on their home grill.
When they first came out in the 70s made from clay they were POS.

Eillis Johnson The Latest SEC Coordinator To Ink A Big Ole Contract
Monday, February 15, 2010 12:29 PM
Posted By: George Paschal

Last year saw Monte Kiffin, the famed defensive coordinator, join his son at Tennessee for a cool $1.2 million salary. While unheard of generally, the payout for Kiffin was understood as he carried quite a name with him, and on top of that, it was Tennessee and they were really swinging for the fences with the Lane Kiffin hire. Well, with Lane now back out in Southern California, the SEC will return to it's normal self, right? Wrong. Assistants' salary's in 2010 have risen to new heights, and while they certainly won't exceed Monte Kiffin individually, together they represent the most money the SEC has spent on coordinators.

Ellis Johnson is the latest coach to join the ranks of SEC defensive coordinators making $700,000 or more next season. The club, so far, consists of Kirby Smart of Alabama ($750,000), new arrival Todd Grantham of Georgia ($750,000) and LSU's John Chavis ($700,000). Johnson joins Chavis at $700,000. Some price tag to place on winning, huh?

Last year, aside from the Kiffin contract, the highest paid coordinator in the SEC was John Chavis as $450,000, so the leap up to four coaches making nearly twice that in a single year is astonishing.

Gators' Gary Brown Arrested on Battery Charges

In: SEC, ACC ShareThis

Urban Meyer steps away for one day and the Gators are already misbehaving. Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Gary Brown was arrested this morning on charges of misdemeanor assault. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Brown "open hand struck the face of a woman trying to kick people out of a party, according to the police report. Another woman intervened and got scratched by Brown as he attempted to slap her arms away, according to the report."

More than just this case of violence, the Sentinel also brings up the point that this is at least the 27th arrest of a Florida player in Urban Meyer's 5 year tenure in Gainesville. It is truly amazing how much winning allows disciplinary issues like this to be swept under the rug.

If 27 Miami Hurricanes were arrested in the past 5 seasons, the media would refer to Randy Shannon as warden before anyone would call him coach.

Is that from another blog? Or your comments. Anyway, I found this on an ESPN blob; most gator apologists are saying that those 30 arrests were minor, but here's someone else's research from the ESPN blob:

Misdemeanors: Battery (5 Counts), Domestic Battery (1), Violation of a Sexual Restraining Order (1), Driving with a Suspended License (3), Resisting Arrest (3), Fighting (2), Possession of Marijuana (4), Failure to Comply (1), Property Damage (1), Criminal Mischief (1), Larceny (1), Violation of Probation (1), Theft (1), Disorderly Conduct (1), Violation of a City Ordinacen (1), Driving Under the Influence (1)

Now for the felonies: Purchasing Marijuana (1), Burglary (2), Larceny (1), Obstruction of Justice (2), Domestic Violence by Strangulation (1), Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card (1), Theft (3), Aggravated Assault (1), Battery (2), Use of a Concealed Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (1), Assault (1).

Gator apologists need to take note, these do not sound so "minor".

Back home. I survived a weekend with 2 LSU Tigers, 2 Auburn Tigers, and 2 Noles with only one fight (an Auburn dude trashed Shockey and will likely NEVER do that again) only to be seated next to an old obnoxious croc on the flight home. He was going on and on about the crocs to antagonize the Miami fans in front of me (he didn't know my affiliation since I was wearing non-denominational clothing) and I kept my mouth clamped shut to avoid starting an incident that might get me forcibly removed from the plane. After standing by the inspiration for da Ali G character at baggage claim I hurried to section 6j (for our next nc and the first initial of the qb who is going to lead us there) of the parking garage and cranked my game day CD, singing along to the fight song, Rock You Like a Hurricane, Ballin' Boys etc. the entire drive back. It's good to be home. Time to put on some U swag and cuddle with Sebastian. Happy Presidents Day, Canespacers!

A new season usually means new stars will emerge, breakout players if you will. Consider these players athletes who have already shown a hint of something good, but aren’t quite household names yet. Of course it’s possible a Jeff Luc or Lamarcus Joyner could be the next great player at Florida State in 2010, but in the grand scheme of college football, they’re still unproven. Here’s a look at five players in the conference who have already proved to be on the verge of a breakout season:

Steve Greer, linebacker, Virginia -- Greer led Virginia and all ACC freshmen in tackles with 92, earning All-ACC honorable mention honors. He also ranked No. 5 among the nation's freshmen in tackles, including a career-high 14 tackles at Miami.

Anthony Allen, B-back, Georgia Tech -- Allen will be moving from the A-back to B-back position this spring to fill the void left by Jonathan Dwyer. Allen finished 2009 third on the team in rushing behind Dwyer and quarterback Josh Nesbitt with 618 yards and six touchdowns.

Damien Berry, running back, Miami -- The former safety who had spent the majority of his time on special teams made a name for himself in his first game as a running back last year with 162 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries against FAMU on Oct. 10. He finished with a team-high eight touchdowns and was second on the team in rushing with 616 yards. With Javarris James gone and Graig Cooper recovering from a knee injury, it’s Berry’s time to shine.

Andre Ellington, running back, Clemson -- He had a 7.2 yards per carry average as C.J. Spiller’s backup (68 carries for 491 yards) and four touchdowns. Ellington also proved to be a capable receiver with 11 catches for 55 yards. He had five runs of over 20 yards and 13 runs longer than 10 yards. He was second to Spiller in rushing.

Jarmon Fortson, wide receiver, Florida State -- Fortson ended 2009 with a play to remember in the Gator Bowl: an acrobatic, one-handed, 29-yard catch in the third quarter. Fortson finished third on the team last year with 45 catches for 610 yards and four touchdowns.

I use lump charcoal and will never grill with gas ever again.

Try this salmon recipe because it is the bomb!

1 cup of Temari or Premium Soy Sauce
1 cup of water
3 Tablespoons of honey
3 Tablespoons of toasted sesame oil
rough chopped green onion or scallions
some rouch chopped garlic
some rough chopped ginger

Put all this in a blender and blend away. Marinate the salmon for at least 2 hours preferably overnight.

I set up my fire on one side of my grill and put my salmon on the other side so it doesn't stick and fall apart. You'll know it's done when the fat in the salmon turns gelatinous and starts oozing from the salmon. When this happens pull it and let it rest.

I also make a habenero chimmichurri sauce that put on my steaks that is bomb. Just salt and pepper steaks "ribeye or porterhouse" and let them come to room temp. Grill the one side of your steak and when you flip paint the grilled side with the chimmi and let the steak finish cooking. Let steak rest and dig in. I've eaten at all kinds of steak houses and this steak is the bomb!

1/2 cup of Olive Oil
1/4 cup of lime juice
1/4 cup of white vinegar
a couple cloves of garlic
1/2 red bell pepper chopped
1 shallot chopped
50/50 parsely to cilantro rough chopped
2 habeneros for heat
salt and pepper to taste

This chimmi is the bomb!

Six,

Thanks for all the advice and tips...right now im still doing the "Insanity" workout program, which does not use any weights at all. Its crazy cardio and interval training...im doing this first to get in better shape and lose some weight (hopefully 15 - 20 lbs)...before I start the P90X....I just recently started doing push-ups at night with sets of 10 - 20 till I get to 100....i do this every other night to let those muscles rest....i might also start doing curles the same nights...i want to get my upper body into shape and ready for those pull-ups that come with P90x lol...so far I haven't done anyhing with protein shakes or anything like that..just he diet the program suggests...like oatmeal, egg whites, wheat pasta, chicken etc....I did however order the "Results & Recovery" formula to use with the P90X work outs. Im also going to try and get to the local track a few nights a week for some walking and jogging..maybe some stairs.

Umike I cant seem to get my lazy azz motivated to get back in the gym and in shape. Good luck with your workouts!

Ibis...
it sounds really good, but I don't have the patience for the egg... My 12/14oz steaks cook seared on both sides and cook to light pink centers in 12 minutes... The commercial grill has (4) 24", 20,000 BTU burners under radiant shields and a water/drip tray underneath to keep meats moist.
Note I only use one burner when cooking for us and two for 6 persons... The all SS grill is by MagiCater.

For the really out of shape guys... LOL

If you look down and can't see your toes. Start out by trying to touch the floor, if ya can't do it at first, keep on stretching and bobbing downward. Take a light Bud beer break and keep telling yourself how many cal's you are saving... Now, back to touching the floor. After about 3 sets, you should be ready to sit in the recliner.

Time for a nap.

Canes Law.. Man deserves rest after hard work out!

Texascane

Actually, I can see my toes very well from the recliner...

Yeah I don't use the egg. I have a smoker/grill. I like using lump charcoal. I find it gives the meat a better flavor.

I do beer can chicken that is unreal. I smoke pork and do pig pickings. I get down on the grill and smoker. I deep fry turkeys for the holidays. I love grillin and chillin. Give me some meat and I'll put some love in it.
