Old post

Just a thought... Sitting here reading your posts and wondering who the person is behind the key board. To be honest, I get confused who some of you are, with so many posters. Forget if you went to the U or just a fan, forget if you live in South Florida or East LA, forget if your 20 and in school or married with kids, forget if you played ball or a nerd with special x-ray eyes... Man, I'm losing it, but I'm sure, I'm not alone... So how about giving us a profile? Not for me, but for all of US... It would be great, if you took the time to register under type pad and fill out the profile. You don't have to give your name and you can hide your email address... Some advantages are being able to read all of your past posts in archives/history, which comes in handy, when trying to find something that you said a month ago and Posting an picture of you or your favorite dog... So listen up... whether a old time reader and never post or a regular... Get on the wagon and register!!! JMO...Cat

REGISTERING AND GETTING MY AVATAR UP???. Click on Typepad found at bottom. Register in and fill out questions. To add avatar picture, find browse button under picture and click... brings you to pictures in your saved file and select (Double click) favorite picture. Important... After selecting pic, scroll down to bottom of profile and save changes. If you have no pictures saved in computer picture file, surf the net and save pic's that you like, by right clicking on picture and click save. Repeat above steps and there you go!... Last step, go back to article and post a comment. When you do, your picture should be posted with your comment.

Not sure I missed a step? Try it!

Ill even say JG has an outside chance of going in the 1st round

You never know with the way teams trade picks toward the end of the 1st round

Things fall right and he very well could go in the very late 1st

Looks like he never missed a beat. He did miss a couple of makeable putts that could have had him tied for the lead. Very impressive comeback from 5-6 months off. few if any other golfers could have pulled that off.

Jody Wright's cellphone has been pushed to its limit the last few weeks.

Bad thing is: it has no breather on the horizon.

Auburn released Fulton High School senior guard and Class AA Mr. Basketball Jalen Steele from his national letter of intent on Thursday, and it set off another barrage of calls and text messages to Wright - Steele's coach.

"It's been wild," said Wright.

The signing period for basketball begins Wednesday and ends May 19.

Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury got in touch early with Wright and snagged a plane ticket to Knoxville so he could meet with Steele Thursday night.

Ole Miss assistant coach Torrey Ward called Wright Thursday to set up a meeting with Steele for Friday morning in Knoxville.

"I've heard from everybody from LaSalle to Cincinnati to Wisconsin," said Wright, "along with the other schools who had been in contact with me before."

Steele committed to Auburn in September and signed with the Tigers in November. But when coach Jeff Lebo was fired March 12, Steele took a wait-and-see approach to whom Auburn hired.

Meanwhile, shortly after Lebo's ouster, schools such as UCLA, Cincinnati, Georgia, Miami, Alabama and Florida made calls to Wright.

A few days after meeting with new Auburn coach Tony Barbee on March 29, Steele decided he didn't mesh with the new direction of the program and asked for a release.

Wright felt Auburn would release Steele. He just wasn't sure when.

"We're glad not only to have it (the release) but to have it in a timely manner," said Wright. "It's good for both parties. It's good for Auburn, and it's good for Jalen.

"He's just relieved. But that was just a part of it for him. Now he's got to decide. So, the whole circus starts again. He knows he's got another big decision in front of him."

NCAA coaches have been locked in a recruiting dead period that was lifted Thursday. Another comes Monday-Wednesday of next week. So if Steele is to schedule a visit, it will likely come after the forthcoming dead period.

Wright said it's not a given that Steele, who averaged 24 points as a senior, will remain in the SEC.

"He's not married to the SEC," he said. "But I think, obviously, a kid in the South, as I've always said, most kids in the South want to play in the SEC or ACC."

Thanks Six ya it does suck, the dog not telling you what is wrong. So far all the tests have come back normal, she just today started eating a little bit again, so the vet thinks she tore her doggie equivilant of an ACL. She's had a bad limp periodically ever since the first big snowfall we had in december. She's an American Bulldog and just runs and jumps like crazy, except now. Estimate on surgery: $3400.

Have to do it, she's only three and should have a "normal" life ahead of her. I got a 3-story townhouse though and had to go buy a kiddie fence to keep her on the small desk/office first floor area (Hey I'll be on the computer even more!). Stairs are a no-no.

And your grandma and I have at least one thing in common, adoration for Zach Thomas:)

DZ8

Thanks for the kudos everyone. Tim Tebow is right when he says it only takes one team to like you, ESPECIALLY if it's The Raiders (Chris Berman voice.) So Jimmy Graham could go in the first but I don't see the top TE in the draft, Gresham, going until the late first round so don't see JG sliding all the way up there. More on that later this month:)

I wish him no ill will, but he left of his own accord, couldn't abide by the rules and therefore he's ghost, as far I'm concerned. I'll make book, he's get at least one more big screwup left in him.

canezilla

jimho fisher is really trying to make a buzz around fsu..First he calls out his wr for poor routes,Now hes saying the whole team quit in the second half of scrimmage.Either the team sucks or he is reaaaallly just trying to get media coverage.Me thinks he is trying to hard

If Purdue beats OSU and we don't, there are gonna be some real vault worthy excuses flying around for a couple months.

Sebastian

As long as Dada is calling his shots and Weiner is mentoring him, the kid has no chance

His cranium needs some work

solarcane

nice work dz

Great article...

I see Jimmy Graham getting snagged sooner then 3rd round... He got a tremendous amount of press coverage during the work-outs. More then another TE. All of his statistics were higher then most everyone and probably scored about a 90, as a grade. He's got size, agility and hands....

I'm thinking (33 to 53) 2nd round, but don't get me too close to the Kool Aide or I'm jumping to first round!
.....................................

Sam Shields may have stubbed his toes but I'm thinging that speed will be the drawing force on Kickoff returns... Don't know about Shanahan but old Davis would grab him in a heart beat.... if he saw that return he busted during the Wisc kick-off!!!

Somebody will pick him up and dust him off by the 4th round

DrewZ2

well i the Marve's stats are cause of 2 things....
1. He's gotten better since he left
2. Purdue's defense is nothing special

lastly.... I think 44 moves inside and Futch steps up to OLB along with Spence

What does everyone else thinK?

Cat 5 Cane

Hey... StuckinCali...

What's your take?

Me thinks Jimbo is trying to set the TONE for his team during practices, scrimmages and games. No more "Weekend At Bobby's".

Nah dude, as long as it is cold and rainy when we play OSU we are covered.

solarcane

drew,
yea probably a bit of both
Purdue was 69th in total defense in 2009
( Miami 29)

Spence supposedly is playing lights out again acording to Shannon.

solarcane

Nah dude, as long as it is cold and rainy when we play OSU we are covered.

oh yea, I forgot the Even God hates the Canes slant. thanks.

Sebastian

Weather forecast for the game is sunny/clear depending on day or night game with temps in the upper 70s, slight wind moving east to west

I have Dopler 9000 so that forecast is as good as gold!!!!!!!

OSU no threat to the `Canes

solarcane

sebas57
thanks, that Doppler 9000 5 Month Forecast software must be the shizzle, Atlanta can't hit a five hour forecast 50% of the time.

Sebastian

Sometimes I wonder if those things the weather people tell us they have to track the weather really exist.

How the heck can they claim its so hi-tech when it says no rain for my area and yet I cant even see 20 feet in front of me because of the thunderstorm

Playing us like a bunch of fools

Doc Ibis

Jacory saved us from being 5-7 two years in a row... Virginia and Duke were both games we would've lost in '08 if not for the true freshman pheenom... Marve would been a rich man's Kyle Wright... I liked the kid when he was in a Miami uniform, but let's cut out the compare and contrast between him and Jacory... Jacory could've made Nix look like a better coordinator than he actually was if he would've been his primary QB

SlingBlade

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUr-R7mHqus&feature=player_embedded

video i just made and posted....dont know how the graphics turned out so like this...it was clear before i uploaded it....when you watch the game this way you would of thought we blew them out.....anyways enjoy.......

solarcane

Doc, good seeing you on here.

I think we let this season make the comparisons or contrasts between Jacory and Marve.

Jacory will have the luxury of the best receivers in the country, and maybe the best running backs too.

Marve will have the luxury of not playing in front of Miami fans.

They both start out dead even, both of their teams believe they are winners.

solarcane

sling nice,
it did look like we were butchering them lol!

solarcane

Jacory will be facing the 5th best defense in the country in OSU, the 6th best in UNC, the 12th best in VT, and the 20th best in Clemson.

He will face stiffer defenses than most all the other qbs this year.

Hes a Junior and a Heisman watch player, it's his time.

86Cane

Posted by: Doc Ibis | April 08, 2010 at 10:18 PM

Joe Montana, Dan Marino and Terry Bradshaw COMBINED in their best years could not have made Nix look good if they had to run that offense and actually run those brain dead plays he called.

After Nix called the flanker screen for the 10th time that game Montana would have said this guy is an idiot and changed the call in the huddle; Marino would have audibled at the line and thrown a TD and Bradshaw would have chucked it right at Nix on the sideline just to eff with him.

Sebastian

I think Purdue opens up at Notre Shameless

If Bobby D. wins the job thats where he will open up if im correct about the schedule

solarcane

sebas you are correct.

Purdue is like Florida, their schedule makes it simple for their fans and equipment manager.
Purdue plays 8 games inside Indiana, 2 in IL., 1 in Mich, and 1 in Ohio

OK, the Spring Game DVDs have arrived. They will be mailed out on Monday. So far I have:

Fran

TripleC
Nomad
Nashville

That leaves two. DZ8, Esteban or Solar any of U want one?

Sebastian

I would love to see them play out of their minds and we get them in a late bowl game

Manimal, Spence, RayRay and Dtron Dye I would like you to meet Mr. Bobby Drama.

It could never happen though. They wont be good enough and we wont be down at that level

SOUP

Out til the AM. Remember what coach says...

I'm gonna be shocked if my boy Jimmy goes father than the 2nd round. And any other Canes that get drafted, best of luck but not sure I feel any of them should get in other than Jimmy Graham.

Waylon

Mine was a tough as nails 5'3 little Texas woman who loved sports, esp. Texas Tech anything. Absolute die hard Tech fan and her favorite player of all time was Zach Thomas and then Sheryl Swoopes. Man, she wouldn't miss any game, even if it meant walking around the house or outside with a little handheld radio the size of a Twinkie up to her ear. She taught at Tech, even had the highest placement score ever for her time when she enrolled to go to school there

Probably one of the most consistent and determined woman I've ever met in my entire life, dude she was on point with everything

.

.

she ever Ring the TT Bell ?

sounds like a great Lubbock gal ...

I remember our team in college used to take the field to the Miami Vice theme by Jan Hammer, while the guy in the press box would announce names, haha. I had no idea why

I'm good SOUP thanks anyways.
