That article was emphasising Jacory will be a better quarterback than Ponder.
Some guys never get it, no matter what.

Ponders is stupid, because I don't like him, that's my logic.

"This just in: Christian Ponder is no dummy

andrew carter on August, 6 2008 3:00 PM

For some folks like me, two and a half years represents — or, in my case, represented — just about the halfway point of a college education. For others, like Florida State redshirt sophomore QB Christian Ponder, two-and-a-half years represents the end point.

Ponder, a finance major with a GPA better than 3.7, has graduated. As in, he earned his degree. Already.

Yep, file that accomplishment under the category: "Things that make me feel like I’m worthless." I may not have graduated in two-and-a-half years, nor did I play college football, but at least I eventually graduated despite wasting much time playing college football on PlayStation.

Back to Ponder. College athletics needs more stories like his. His academic accomplishment makes me wonder how fast he could have graduated if he hadn’t had to deal with the distraction of playing a sport. Could he have been in and out of FSU in two years? A year and a half? Either way, it’s impressive. "

nice info about the fsu qb . . . definitely something to ponder.

WGT22

Doesn't look good for a Top-8 Seed ... Unless some Top Teams get upset in their home Regionals, it will be on the road for a Super Regional, which is always tough...

Gotta win the Regional first though ... Are the Regional Site announcement tomorrow ?

solarcane

Harris and Ponder through 9 games each

passing yds.
Harris 1774 yds
Ponder 2717 yds

Ponder +943 yds or 104yds a game more passing

TDs

Harris 18 best 3 games
3 vs Ok, 3 vs GT, 3 vs Wake

Ponder 14 best 3 games
5 vs GT, 3 vs UNC, 2 vs Miami/NCst tie
Harris + 4tds

Harris 2 tds a game
Ponder 1.5 tds a game

Ints

Harris 12 first nine games 1.33 per game
excluding 4 vs UNC
Ponder 7 first nine games 1.28 per game.
including 4 vs Clemson

I don't see how one of these guys stinks and the other will win the Heisman they are both damn good QBs.

Sorry Ungar.

DZ8

solar U leave my dog alone.

solarcane

dz you gonna make the whitewater trip this summer

It's a hellava combo,
a concussion and pneumonia for one low price.

DZ8

I don't know. I'd relly like to but in all seriousness my dog is going to have acl surgery soon and that requires three months of doggie rehab. Will be kind of hard to pawn her off on someone when she needs meds and monitored activity etc...
Let me know when the date is and I'll try my best. I'm sure it's going to be a blast even if Canez1 can't bring his rubber duckies.

Out for awhile.

Rubber duckies may be embarassing but we will have to draw the line if Canez1 insists on wearing another one of the pink and glittery Maria Carey T-shirts on the Chatooga River.

He'll get us killed for sure and it won't be from any whitewater, I'll tell U that. Hey, what's that sound?

Paddle faster, I hear banjo music...

solarcane

soup,
I'm going to Clayton/NOC/Death River in the AM I'll call you sometime tomorrow

SOUP

Solar...Roger that. I would suggest that U NOT mention Canez1, or his rubber duckies, or his Mariah Carey shirts. Not gonna win any points that way.

Are we looking at July? Are we gonna do a similar trip again in the Fall for the GT game in case anyone can't make it sooner?

solarcane

This Kryptonite kid must be good.
Sounds like an immigrant, he a kicker or what?

Can I use one of my Thearons on him? lol

From Barry Jackson @ the Herald

" Word from UM's staff is Brandon McGee, who has a key role as the third cornerback and was beaten too much in the spring game, must become more of a competitor and work harder for balls in the air. Several promising corners arrive at UM in June, including Latwan Anderson, but one -- highly regarded Jeremy Davis -- is at risk of not qualifying academically.
Best wishes to offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, recovering from triple bypass surgery last week. .
UM said it now expects Graig Cooper (knee) will play this season."

Miami strands 14 runners on base

UVA scores 2 runs in the 1st, 1 off of a passed ball and 1 off of a wild pitch that advances a runner to score on a RBI ground ball

Miami has 2 runners in scoring position in the bottom of the 1st, can't get them in

Miami has bases juiced in the 8th and can't get them in

Canes better get their heads out of their collective asses if they want to win anything in the ACC Tourney and beyond

SJMPARMAN

I hate to post late but these guys BELIEVE that they are not good as VA. They are TOAST in the ACC. I live in VA and I know better but if you do not have the will to win most likely you will not.

After loss, Miami Hurricanes look to postseason

BY SUSAN MILLER DEGNAN
[email protected]

The Miami Hurricanes' regular season ended with a thud Saturday when they dropped their second game in as many days to No. 1 Virginia and left a season-high 14 runners stranded.

UM (39-15, 20-10), a lock at the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament that begins Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C., will face No. 5 seed Florida State (39-16, 18-12) in its opening game either Wednesday or Thursday. The Seminoles were swept in their final regular-season series, losing the finale 8-3 Sunday at Clemson.

``It's 0-0 now,'' Morris said. ``This other thing is the preseason, really. The tournaments are when the real season starts. Big teams step it up, and big players step it up. Miami has a tradition of doing that, and we expect to do that in the tournaments.''
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Morris said Eric Erickson, UM's No. 2 pitcher who sat out last year after Tommy John surgery, has chosen not to make the trip to Greensboro because of his sore left arm.

``Sad to say,'' Morris said. ``I wish he was. We still have hopes that he'll be able to pitch [in the NCAA regionals]. It's his call. He knows how he feels.''
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Virginia, in UM's Coastal Division, has the best record in the ACC and was awarded the No. 1 tournament seed by virtue of its first regular-season division title since 1985. Clemson (37-19, 18-12), the champion of the Atlantic Division, automatically gets the No. 2 seed.

Eight of the 12 ACC teams advance to next week's tournament, in which the teams are divided among two pools. Each team plays the other three in its pool. The team with the best record in each pool plays in the ACC title game Sunday.

Miami's pool will have Virginia, FSU and No. 8 seed Boston College.

Clemson's pool will have No. 3 seed Georgia Tech, No. 6 Virginia Tech and No. 7 N.C. State.

The regionals follow the ACC tournament June 4-7 at 16 sites across the country. Coral Gables is expected to be one of them, though the site announcement won't be made until next Sunday. The NCAA field of 64 will be announced May 31.
