Brandon Harris

Sebastian

Welcome aboard Teddy and Eli

Its nice knowing we have a QB on lock for 2011

I hope to be able to catch a couple of MNWs games this year to see these guys in person

LessIsMore

First!

SOUP

SHWARMA! Welcome back buddy.

shwarma

Never left, just not as much to say that's all

SOUP

Shwarma...I know U follow recruiting. Anything U want to add? Who's next?

86Cane

Dartmouth 12, FIU 8

Bottom of the seventh.

CanesCanesCanes

Eighth

Sebastian

15-8 top of the 8th

closing in on `Canes time

DZ8

Hey Cav

I'm about halfway thru this one and am really enjoying it. Think you'll like it also.

shwarma

SOUP my guess would be a defensive player from the 305, as I don't think another WR will fall into place for awhile.

But this isn't based on anything just a feeling as I could see a defensive silent wanting to set the tone locally too...

bg1906

Accurate.

bg1906

Next...

Hmmmmmmmmmm interesting quetions.

1. Perryman
2. Benjamin
3. Gorman
4. Davis
5. Crawford/Watkins

Would be my top list of candidates

shwarma

Yeah probably a cavalier or a spartan I would think

ChicagoCane

BG - What about that quarterback from the carolina's? I forget the name but he said he was interested.

ChicagoCane

Also - Will Rogers be the only WR we take or could Randy make some room for a Kelvin Benjamin type?

Sebastian

15-9

The streak will have to wait until next year to try and reach 57

`Canes v Aggies up next

bg1906

Chicago.

Marquis Williams. Never had an offer and won't get one. He liked us much more than we liked him. He may land somewhere else in the ACC though and that would not surprise me 1 bit.

Also will we take about 3 WRs this class. I don't see 4 but you never know! Especially if we don't take any RBs which the only RB I could see us taking would be Wilder but I just don't think he lands here.

bg1906

Chicago here is a break down of how I think it ends up.

QB - 1
RB - 0
WR - 3
OL - 2
DL - 3 or 4 (2 DE, 1 or 2 DT)
LB - 2
DB - 3

That is 15 'ships. Small class. If we only get 1 DT or 1 DE we could possibly add another DB or another WR.

bg1906

Let me ammend! HAHAHA! I forgot TE

TE - 1

So that will be sure to make DL 3 (with 2 DEs and 1 DT)

Sebastian

IMO and thats all it is

Wilder is a very very long shot to land

If he is dead set on playing RB then he wont be here. His build and off the ball speed his future will be at DE. At least from I have seen at his games

shwarma

Bg- Davis?

bg1906

My predictions

QB - Bridgewater
WR - Watkins, Rogers, Benjamin
TE - O'Leary
OL - Jackson, Joe
DL - Chickillo, Dubose or maybe Rabasa if he and Perryman are truly a package deal, Todd Peat (OOS DT. I liked the footage I've seen of him and he is VERY interested)
LB - Perryman and Hankins
DB - Gorman, Crawford, Louis-Jean

bg1906

Shwarma.

Andre Davis. I think he really likes us, but we may slow play him. But he is a player. I think Rogers took Dorsett out of play. I think we really want Benjamin and Watkins. So yesterday made WR recruiting VERY interesting. Coming down the stretch who can/will qualify will also probably make a HUGE difference on who is in or out of this class.

I REALLY think we get O'Leary, but if not, I can see us getting Fulse, but I think O'Leary is the main target at TE and I think he likes the prospectus we have right now in terms of him being able to come in and elevate within a year or so into one of the top 2 TEs on the team. Along with Asante Cleveland who I think is going to be a really good player at UM. But O'Leary could be a star!

shwarma

Bg - thought you meant Andre Davis but haven't herd his name in awhile. I agree about slow playing him some too, as I don't think he is at the top of our list at the moment.

And in terms of your class, I see that being pretty close, though I think DE could be interesting since there are a fair number of local options

bg1906

Shwarma.

They aren't sold on Ricardo Williams or the other locals. The only local they really like at DE is Dubose and Maggit, but I think Maggit goes to UF. You can also probably throw Giorgio Newberry in there too, because apparently Dubose has potential grade issues. The 1 I know they want for sure is Chickillo.

SOUP

could Randy make some room for a Kelvin Benjamin type?

YES

SOUP

The 1 I know they want for sure is Chickillo.

But does he want us? I have heard mixed rumors on this one?

Six

Sebastian - ya, Mccullers

This is from when he was a Frosh last year, from the Tampa Tribune

"McCullers made an instant impact with the nationally ranked Tigers as their starting shortstop and closer. A Times All-Suncoast second team pick, he hit .443 with 28 RBI, nine doubles and five home runs."

He was their Frosh of the Year

shwarma

Soup, I have heard that too about Chikillo, but I think this is just a case of the kid needs to make the decision on his own, not feel like his Dad is making the decision for him.

Bg - Also about jonathan harris, wasn't there some noise about him?.

And if I can only have 3 DE, I would want 2 DEs (strongside is great) and 1 DT (never can have enough big uglies) I just feel the WDE is an easier position to fill these days, especially in South Florida where the linemen don't seem to be as big and its all about the speed

Sebastian

Game is underway

Six

Meaning, he was Max Preps Frosh of the Year

Sebastian

Lawson busts one into the garage again

the big ? is, what level will it be come article time?

Sebastian

Six,The umpire I know said McCullers could break 100 next year

He has a very fluid throwing motion and a breaking ball that falls off the table thats in the low to mid 80s

SOUP

the big ? is, what level will it be come article time?

Posted by: Sebastian57 | June 05, 2010 at 04:30 PM

The garage only has five levels so let's shoot for:

"Lawson's first inning bomb was absolutley crushed and went over the sixth floor of the parking garage beyond the right field fence."

bg1906

The 1 I know they want for sure is Chickillo.

But does he want us? I have heard mixed rumors on this one?

Posted by: SOUP | June 05, 2010 at 04:20 PM

Just part of the recruiting "game" ... you know the CHASE. He's not like Patchan. He'll be here.

SOUP

UM 1, TAMU 0 after one inning.

bg1906

He definitely looks quicker on film than J12 as well, but I'm not sure that is reality or not...

Posted by: BEERicane | June 05, 2010 at 12:28 PM

Watch more film. He's faster and quicker. His passes have more zip. J12 has much better mechanics and much better drop-back footwork. TB needs to work on his throwing mechanics and his passing footwork. His arm strength is fine.

J12 needs to work on getting more zip on his passes but that may have just been remedied with the thumb surgery and his workout regimen. Have you seen him in person lately. He's bulked up. His guns have gone from .38's to .44's

BG,
I hope you are right about who is going to commit to the U, because that class will rival the 2008 class.

I have a feeling that with so many quality upperclassmen from that 2008 class getting lost in the numbers game and that will not crack the line-up, we will see a number of transfers before and after the fall. We may see more than 15 schollies available by 2011. With so many quality athletes in the state this year (see ESPN Top 150 and the Rivals 100) that Shannon should have a top class this year.

Go Canes!

Sebastian

3-0

bg1906

Windy 1.

I don't see any defections from 2008. I think they stick it out. Also the 2011 class will be VERY good athletically compared to 2008 but they will not have the depth of the 2008 class, but pound for pound will be just as strong.

Sebastian

Lawson bombed #2 of the day and his 3rd of the tournament

orange 'n green in the vein

Fantastic arm on the run on Bridgewater, the range of touch and the ability to know how to deliver just the right arc on the pass is exceptional for a 17 year old.

Sebastian

Palaez goes long with a 3 run shot making the score 10-0 top of the 4th with 2 outs

Another one over early

THE FAT LADY

57...good call. I'm warming up, but not singing yet.

Sebastian

3 HRs to RF and I dont think any of them have landed yet

Another game of double figure runs. The O is on high octane right now

A 10-0 score sounds like the 1st quarter score of the O$U game after J-Silk and the Byrdman hook-up for a 42 strike

PhillyCane

make that 13-0 go canes

PhillyCane

lawsons a beast

Sebastian

Freaking Lawson with a 3 run blast to RF

Thats #3 in this game for him

Hes killing that parking garage

PhillyCane

Who and when would the canes play next?
