Your University of Miami Hurricanes will face Texas A&M tonight at 7 PM in the championship game of the Coral Gable Regional at Alex Rodriguez Park.
Today, UM released an appeal directly from UM Head Coach Jim Morris for Hurricane fans to show up and cheer the team on to victory. Here is that appeal that I received via email:
So get off the couch and get into the game.
Do it for Coach Morris and your Miami Hurricanes.

Sebastian - I dunno who was on from 12-3 today on 1040
Was it a guy? I didn't hear any part of the radio today, had some other things going on that were dealing with the Rays and the MLB Draft today
Rays have 2 picks in the 1st Round ... and 3 picks in the top 43

Roger that!
Posted by: SOUP | June 07, 2010 at 06:58 PM
It was 2 guys. I think 1 of them called himself the rook or something like that. Like I said I didnt stay dialed in for more then a few minutes. They are horrible
I hope the Rays have their eyes on some speed players. I havent checked the farm system lately but a catcher would be a welcome addition(Yas)

I'm a huge history buff WGT22...
AP World History was the first college class I passed my soph. year of high school. Ever since then I have been fascinated with the past, and how things get altered with written text and translation.
Posted by: CaneSawMassacre | June 07, 2010 at 07:49 PM
U know, out of all my former teachers my entire life, I remember my History teachers the most. Not sure if it was because they were so good or if the subject matter was simply so facinating ... Probably both though.
"If we fail to learn from the past...We are certainly doomed to repeat it."
are the squeegees out yet ? Word on Grandal ? Hope his bottom $ line doesn't scare some teams off like out of H.S.

Sebastian57 keep us updated...How is the weather now in Coral Gables?
Posted by: Montreal-Cane | June 07, 2010 at 08:21 PM
12. Cincinnati Reds: Yasmani Grandal, C, 21, Miami. A native of Cuba who moved to the USA when he was 11, Grandal was the ACC player of the year. A switch-hitter, he has steadily improved at the plate and built a reputation as a strong signal caller behind it. He's also advanced as a catcher and should be quicker to the majors than many backstops. This could be a great value at No. 12 and could give the Reds an excellent recent run of first-rounders, following on the heels of Mike Leake and Grandal's fellow Miami Hurricane, Yonder Alonso.
CHAAAA CHINGGGGGGGG !!! That'll be 3 Million please Red Fans ...
Great pure baseball city ... They'll love him there.
OK, Let The Johhny Bench comparisons begin ... Yaz can handle them.
Let's Play Ball !

I thought the same!
Delino Lamont DeShields (born January 15, 1969 in Seaford, Delaware[1]) is a former second baseman in Major League Baseball who played for the Montreal Expos (1990-93), Los Angeles Dodgers (1994-96), St. Louis Cardinals (1997-98), Baltimore Orioles (2000-01) and Chicago Cubs (2001-02). He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He is currently the manager for the Billings Mustangs in the Cincinnati Reds organization.[2]
DeShields has two sons, Delino, Jr and D'Angelo and three daughters, Diamond, Denim, and Delaney.

I just wiki'd him also Montreal-Cane!!
I noticed he has the same birthday as me, although five years before me. And think its cool that he is coaching the Billings Mustangs, I've seen a few of their games when I go out and visit family there!
He has George Foreman tendencies with the naming of his kids, haha.

btw Mike Stanton debuts 3morrow for the Marlins ... 6-5/235 S.T.U.D.
I think we're gonna like this guy.

Back to back walks to start the game for UM.

A&M's pitcher is having trouble trowing strikes, lets put an end to this game early.
Posted by: Canesfan4life | June 07, 2010 at 08:47 PM
Let's hope the Canes pitchers aren't watching the A&M pitcher and get his voodoo on them

You want to know how much an aluminum stick can help someone at the plate?
Look at that Gollum Olsen Twin look-a-like for A&M, Matt Juengel
6'3 170lbs soaking wet, and he hit a bomb yesterday
Dude looks completely malnourished and like Sally Struthers should be on television in his village, asking people to send him money so he can eat
