KnoxCane

Awww Nashville, you got me arrrr, at least we kept it in Tennessee LOL

Nashvillecane

Yep sure am...lol...btw 6 good stuff on the baseball/football players in the early am...1 I didn't see was Quincy Carter...and a legend from my area is a guy by the name of Micheal Colman...played at Nashville Stratford HS in the mid 90s...originally committed to play at bama out of hs but was later drafted by the red sox I believe and he took the $ and ran...to baseball I mean...lol...but IMO would have been a better fb player if he would have continued to play.

KnoxCane

By the way...Do we have in Canes in PA? I am moving to Hershey PA, yes where the candy is made.

Canes

Knox and Nash...do both of U guys have Canespace gear? Let me know here or email me at:

canespace86@aol.com

Nashvillecane

Yeah it's good to keep it in state Knox..so how do ppl really feel bout Derrick Dooley in k'ville?? Funny thing is both of the last two coaches they hired have had losing records in the only other hc posions they had...not only that but both got the jobs bc of their last names...it would hurt my feeling et al if ut lost every game for as long as I live but dude seems to be a better fit for their progam than the previos clown...plus I hear that their is alot of tension between lance thompson and the other that left for usc...it's been reported that Thompson is poaching on some USC players that can tranfer trying to get them to go to ut...lol...what goes around come rite back around to u everytime...lol

Nashvillecane

SOUP/86 I'm good...let Knox have it...

Ghana pimp slaps the US - again? knocking them out for the 2nd consecutive time in the World Cup

Good lord. Losing to Ghana? Again? No wonder I don't ever watch soccer ... would be interesting to see just how much money, facilities, training & difference between the 2 countries for their soccer teams - not to mention the population difference between the 2 countries, with the US having most likely more than twice as many people, with that many more people to choose from - right?

Am I wrong on that? If soccer is so popular, a ton of kids play it here and I see that a ton of high schools and a lot of colleges have soccer teams - then why can't the US field better players in order to beat someone like Ghana

You do realize that ghana couldnt even begin to compete with us in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey or any other sport other than soccer. All they have is soccer, yes we may have a larger population but our population much rather play one of those sports and make much more money here in the US. The US soccer team has come along way, but their is no money here in the states to have the best athletes play soccer. yes it sucks that we lost to a 3rd world country in a sport that costs little to no money to be good at but Im proud of our showing in the Cup. USA!

#20 Driskel the future gator, goes to my alma mater. he is no where near as strong or big as tebow coming out of highschool. But he is a tremendous athlete with tons of upside (our football program is brand new, i was in the first graduating class at Hagerty in 09) so Driskel had absolutley no surrounding talent. He is very very fast for his size though. Love the kid, thrown the football with him a couple times, hate to see him go to the turds. But gimme Bridgewater all day everyday! GO CANES!

It is a stocked lake and full of three types of Bass, Catfish, Bream, Trout, and pedal/paddle boats.

Everybody on the blog doesn't watch it so it's not a real sport, it's more a leisure pastime like chess or bowling perhaps.

canechic

Solar I am in love with no commercials! But I watch soccer pretty much with hockey in mind and I now enjoy it so much better. I can see where some do not like it, I enjoy it! :)

canechic

So I can't watch the Marlins tonight here in Orlando because boxing is on, boxing really boxing? Well that is neither here nor there so I search for other baseball games and the damn Yankees are on again. I seriously believe they are the only team in MLB? Just sick and tired, tired and sick of those damn Yankees!!!!

So back to studying legitimacy and paternity and then move straight in adoption law.

I told you a couple years ago I don't get into hockey too much because I'm convinced there isn't really a puck, cause I have never seen it yet.
I think the goalie dude drops it out of his back pocket a couple times a night in between the fights and that cool azz backwards show off skating lol!

good to see you on here!

Incoming UCLA players arrested...

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES -- Three incoming UCLA football players have been arrested on suspicion of felony theft, officials and public records said Saturday.

Joshua Shirley, Shaquille Richardson and Paul Richardson -- all 18-year-old freshmen enrolled in the school's summer session -- were arrested on the UCLA campus Wednesday, booked at a Los Angeles County jail and released early Thursday morning, sheriff's department records showed.

Shaquille Richardson and Paul Richardson posted $20,000 bail each and Shirley was released without posting bail, the records showed.

The three were arrested by UCLA police officers, sheriff's spokeswoman Aura Sierra said Saturday.

A UCLA police watch commander said he had no immediate information on the arrests or the alleged crimes, and a UCLA athletics spokesman offered no details.

"We're aware of the situation, we're looking into it and we'll have a comment at the appropriate time," athletics spokesman Marc Dellins said.

Police and sheriff's deputies did not know whether any of the men had hired attorneys.

The three men were all Southern California natives and regional stars for their local high schools last year.

Shirley, a linebacker from Kaiser High School in Fontana, was an especially coveted recruit who flirted with attending Southern California before signing on with coach Rick Neuheisel and the Bruins in February.

In January he recovered a blocked field-goal try and raced 77 yards for a touchdown to help give the West a victory over the East at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Shaquille Richardson was a cornerback who attended Los Alamitos High School and Paul Richardson was a wide receiver at Serra High School in Gardena.

Solar,

A few things that don't belong on ESPN:

Fishing
Poker
Wood-chopping (or whatever those guys call it)
Strongman Comp'
Volleyball
American Gladiators (loved that show, too)
Bowling

NOT saying they aren't sports,

Just that for some reason ESPN seems like it should be soley ordained to BBall, FBall, and BSBall.

USC transfer for Louisville?

By Mike Hughes
Editor and Publisher

Jordan Campbell recently sought his release from USC after the Trojans were slapped with NCAA probation. The 5-foot-11, 230-pound linebackers from Corona, California is visiting Louisville to check out Charlie Strong's program. Is Campbell headed to Louisville?

Canes are looking strong for 2010. The oddsmakers and experts all see the Canes making a run this year for the BCS, and they have the talent and depth to do it.

Urban Meyer is trying to make inroads in the muck, with his usual negative anti-Miami recruiting.

the Canes are recruiting some of the best players out of what is traditionally one of the most fertile recruiting areas in the best state (Fla.) for high school football.

As Randy finds more success identifying and getting the in-state players he wants, Urban is left with the players with the stars by their name but not the best players.

Urban and his staff are looking a couple of hundred miles south at a private school program with a smaller budget(the Canes), and they are puzzled as to how the Canes consistently identify, recruit and develop better players that are better NFL talent.

The Canes still go after their type of players, and they do not focus on stars and recruiting sites.

This year's Canes team is much better than the Gators, and they will show it on the field this year

canefanatic777 - yes, I do realize that Ghana couldn't compete with the US in football, basketball or baseball

That's not what I was saying

I've never been a fan of soccer, I can't even tell you how many times I've heard the same exact line" it's the most popular sport in the world" bla bla bla - who cares. It's not popular enough here to have a thriving professional league - please, don't even come at me with the MLS. That's on par with the WNBA. And if people disagree that it IS popular here, then why the hell isn't the US good at it? That's why I brought up the population, possibility of facilities and financial aspect - the US is a powerhouse on the globe

I always hear about kids playing soccer all the time, high school kids playing soccer, college kids playing soccer - so how come the US can't field a team that WON'T LOSE to Ghana for 2 consecutive World Cups?

The financial argument of it doesn't make sense - kids here see money being made in other sports like NBA, NFL, MLB so that's why they don't play soccer? No, don't buy it. If you're really good at it, you'll go play overseas and make good $$$$ - and if you're really into it, playing from the PeeWee Soccer .. to travel team type soccer .. to high school soccer .. to college soccer - then you're pretty dedicated to it enough that you know you can make money overseas playing it. Just like how some basketball players go overseas and make money

You don't think some of the US players on the World Cup teams have played overseas in better leagues and made money?

People can say that soccer is popular here as much as they want - maybe in their mind it is, but in the general public eye of the United States, it really isn't and that's reality

No one is saying it isn't hard to play or whatever .. and please don't say that the players are constantly running the entire game and that by the end of the match they've run 20 miles or whatever. Be honest with yourself, when the ball is no where near certain parts of the field, then those players are not "running" like many like to say they are .... ya, they might be jogging here and there, but the way you hear people say that soccer players are running the entire game - come on. The person out on that field that is in insane shape, is the ref - that guy sprints up and down the damn field like crazy, all game long

The reason soccer is so popular around the entire world is - it's a dirt poor sport to play, and that's a good thing. What all do you really need? A ball and two pair of whatever you want on either side of your homemade field. I don't see 3rd World countries out there playing football, hockey, baseball with proper equipment (not milk cartons taped to your hands with a broomstick and bottle cap used as a bat/ball) ... they're playing soccer, and they're good at it, b/c they have nothing else - right? Well, the US has everything and to supply kids around the nation with a dirt poor sport like soccer to play is easy ... so why can't these kids beat someone like Ghana?

KnoxCane

Nash,

Thanks for the love, most of the Knox Vols are drooling over Dooley, but in my opinion ,from the relations I've read he dismantled, Tennessee will turn into an below average program.

Appreciate the heads up on the shirt!

GO CANES!

USAFCane

I had high hope for USA, the draw was perfect for a semi-final run. That game should have been won, they had a poor Ghana team on the run then settled for a tie and extra time the last 15 mins. Taking Altidori was a mistake also. The draw will never set-up that well again for USA. Oh well come on england, viva mexico!

Old Skool

Hurriphin. ESPN would disagree with you. They own the company that puts on most of the bass tournaments.

I agree a lot of those sports are dull shyt.

ESPN is a cash whore, If names like Gatorade, Nike, Red Bull, Bass Pro Shops, Ford, Honda, Titleist, etc. will throw money at them to televise "their" sport you can bet we will see it on that station now and then.

add
Monster trucks
Golf
NFL Combine
Lacrosse
Dog shows
Spelling Bees

to your list.

I watch very little TV and in this order

College Football
Wipeout
Myth Busters
Rock & Roll documentaries
Discovery Channel
History Channel that's about it.
