CanesCanesCanes

we will win TWO straight NCs and go undefeated for two STRAIGHT years

Sorry - I think I suffered a mini-stroke while writing that

Sebastian

The Sox will be making a move soon because of the injuries.

The Yanks will match that just because they can

Ty Wiggington, Alfonso Soriano, Scott Podsednik or a Carlos Lee will be heading to either one of those teams to sure up the hitting

SOUP

Oh, another thing, have you noticed how Pat Burrell has been doing with the Giants since he got there?

In 19 games, he's hitting: .309, 8 Runs, 17 Hits, 3 2B, 4 HR, 10 RBI, .381 OBP, .582 SLG

Compare that to what he did with the Rays this year in 24 games: .202, 9 Runs, 17 Hits, 5 2B, 2 HR, 13 RBI, .292 OBP, .333 SLG

Look at the Avg, HRs, OBP and SLG - in 5 less games with the Giants

Obviously Pat the Bat was keeping things under his hat because he still is all that.

Right Place + Right Time + Right Team = Synergy

Story time:

So I made my first call into the radio today. I called the Paul Fishbaum show on sirius radio. He talks college football and I wanted to get his opinion on the Canes for this upcoming year. I asked "What do you think the canes chances are on being a dark horse for the NC this year or next?"

In a nutshell, he said basically that he doesnt see it happening this year or next. He didn't seem too knowledgable about the team. He said he has respect for Shannon and what he has done there but he doesnt thihnk they have it. I continued to tell him how these kids arent freshman any more, and they have depth and experience finally. He wasn't buying it. He whipped out our schedule and said ok @ OSU, @ Pitt, @ Clemson- thats too tough for a NC run. FSU and VT at home he said were pluses. He said he remembered last year they were making a run and then asked me who knocked them off and it hurt to say Clemson in OT.

I then asked him, "What do you think our chances are of beating Ohio St.?"

This is where we almost got into a fight. He said 0% chance. I said really? 0% chance, then why are they even playing the game just give OSU the win. He said fine 25% chance. I said why and he said cause of it being in the Shoe and Tressel. He then asked me, I said 50% chance. He kind of laughed and then let me go.

When I got off he asked his colleague the % chance he gave Miami and he said 1/2%, but then he said I actually could see Tressel blowing it. Fishbaum then continued to say how he knows we are all fans but we gotta be realistic here, basically saying im drunk on orange and green koolaid cause i said they have 50% chance. Anyways it was interesting and my first call ever of course had to be about the Canes.

PS: There's another PhillyCane?? Will the real PhillyCane please stand up

From The Bleacher Report:

Last season Jacory was the first Cane quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season since Ken Dorsey did it in 2002. Harris threw for 24 touchdowns and was a semifinalist for the Davie O’Brien Quarterback Award. The one blemish on Jacory’s season?

17 interceptions.

Only one quarterback in Division One threw more interceptions that Jacory. That number has to cut in half in 2010 if the Canes are going to make a run at the ACC Title and National Championship.

Harris is entering his second year in offensive coordinator Mark Whipple’s offense and should improve. With most of the team’s personnel issues being on the defensive side of the ball, the 2010 Canes will likely have to put up big numbers on offense to win. And Jacory is the key.

Canez1

Phillycane I think you are talking about PhillyScott.

He's an OG from way back. Great to see him pop his head in once in a while.

You will see more of him once the season starts.

A few of us go WAY back here.

It's crazy when you think about it.

GO CANEZ!!!!!

Name the ONLY D-1 QB to throw more INTS in 2009 than Jacory?

TRU DAT!

CanesCanesCanes

Easy. Jevan Snead.

Now here's one back at you. It's a two parter. What round was he drafted in this year...and where was he projected to be drafted (general consensus) if he would have come out in 2009?

canesfan5

He was not drafted and he would of been a first round pick in 2009.

CanesCanesCanes

True. Since he was a sophomore, I'm not even sure he could have come out in 2009(transferred from Texas & sat out a year), but some analysts even had him projected as a top ten pick in the 2009 preseason.

If anyobody remembers, he's the kid that Urban the Turban told he was going to be the only QB signed, and when Snead found out Tebow was signing, Snead called him out on it and Urban famously said that Tebow was being drafted as a linebacker. Snead then backed out of his commitment to sign with Texas only to end up losing the starting job to Colt McCoy...thereby prompting his move to Miss.

So Jeremy Davis is good to go?

I also thought that if Snead woulda left after the 08-09' season, he would've been a first rnd pick.

Old Skool

Marques Dixon who ditched the U for UT is having trouble qualifying academically.

This is the UT that found a way to accept Demetrice Moreley the graduate of Miami's University High which specialized in grade washing.

Nick Menocal?

The Wizard

The subtraction of Tavadis Glenn would seem to me to create an opening for Seantrel Henderson. Does anybody here know if he attended classes today as scheduled ?

big chuck

Belen Jesuit LB Nick Menocal has verbally committed to the University of Miami.

Menocal checked in at the Miami Nike Camp earlier this spring at 6-foot-2 and 232 pounds and ran a 4.59 laser 40 with a 35.5-inch vertical jump.

His 114.40 SPARQ rating was one of the highest in Florida.
