As the Miami Hurricanes head into their next ACC contest against Georgia Tech in Atlanta UM the Hurricanes' season and head coach Randy Shannon's coaching career literally hangs in the balance.
And if you think for one minute that it doesn't then you should consider this:
Technically Miami must beat Georgia Tech today and hope for a VT loss to North Carolina to set up a winner take all match between the Hurricanes and the Hokies next Saturday in Miami.
Miami took care of the Turtles last week and now must take the sting out of the Yellow Jackets to keep their ACC title hopes alive for the 2010 season.
Technically Randy Shannon will complete his fourth season as head coach at Miami on 11/27/10 against USF at Sun Life Stadium and has never even come close to winning an ACC Championship.
Georgia Tech under Paul Johnson has.
Shannon's overall record as of now is 27-20 and 14-16 in the ACC.
Technically that is not good. Technically that stinks for a school like Miami.
Techincally that could get U fired even if you are graduating all of your players.
He has to win out this year or face serious consequences and watch as Georgia Tech's band (seen above outside of Raymond James Stadium) plays at the ACC title game while Miami sits at home.
Technically we think Coach Shannon can get the job done and that he will this Saturday. He simply must. He absolutely has to.
GO MIAMI, BEAT GEORGIA TECH!!!
Oh, btw, going to the Roger Waters concert tonight. Going to be sweet.

The older fans, that sat through what we are going through now, before the great years, realize how wonderful and improbable a run like that was.
That doesn't make anybody a truer fan or bigger fan.

yup, those 2 year stints of Curci,Elliot,Saban and Selmer were some lean years indeed until the "Pipe" showed up... but, the games were in the ol lady O.B. and you could sit just about anywhere you'd like.
DAMN I miss that stadium ! Left my DNA many times out on that field back in high school.
Anyway, in retrospect, things are good, not great now and hopefully getting better. HAVE to finish strong.

I am trying to really hard to find something to bitch about, but the truth is I cannot. Randy Shannon did a great job yesterday. I guess he is learn on the job. I like how Whip is calling the game. The D played well, they need to continue to play well.
