With all of the turmoil surrounding the Miami Hurricane football program these days and so much of the program, players and coaches either being blown up or blowing up in our faces, long time Canespacer Alpharetta Cane decided to take matters into his own hands and on this Veteran's Day (we salute U!) to take the call to arms seriously and heed the famous war-time call: "Man Battleships".
So here is AlpharettaCane playing the famous board game "Battleship" with Captain Optimist Hurricanes style:
Kyle Wright has "it" - whatever "it" is. MISS!
Arthur Brown has "it" - whatever "it" os. MISS!
Randy Shannon will restore Miami's image and improve graduation rates. HIT!
Can't wait to see Richard Gordon return KOs. MISS!
Pannunzio needs to go. HIT!
Coker was a great OC and turned into not so great head coach. HIT!
Wesley should've never been let go. UNCONFIRMED MISSLE LAUNCH?
Marve is a better QB than Harris. STILL ASSESSING TARGET DAMAGE?
LeSean McCoy will be better than Javarris James and Graig Cooper. HIT!
Miami will crush LSU in the Peach Bowl, since LSU will be without their starting QB. MISS!
Our D-Line is so deep, it's one of the highlights of this team. MISS!
DVD couldn't tackle his own shadow. HIT!
Shannon is stubborn, coy with the media, doesn't motivate his players, and doesn't have high enough expectations for the team / program. HIT!
Shannon has no clue when it comes to clock or game management. HIT!
JoJo Nicholas and Jared Campbell should play over Armstrong / Telemaque. MISS!
Miami is no better than a 3rd place team in their own division. HIT!
Bill Young will revolutionize our defense. MISS!
John Lovett will revolutionize our defense. MISS!
Patrick Nix had philosophical differences with Shannon on what offensive system should be run. HIT!
Nix also wasn't a good OC. HIT!
Nix was hired due to the fact that Shannon couldn't stop him when Georgia Tech beat Miami with Reggie Ball at QB. Hit!
Louisville with Brohm is going to hang 50 on us. HIT!
Florida is going to kick our ass. HIT!
VaTech is going to kill us in B'burg with little Vick. MISS!
I spend way too much time blogging about this crap instead of spending time with the family. HIT!
Haven't added up the score, but it feels to be what, about .500, with as many misses as hits?
In the end, who cares? HIT!
Weeee!

I think we were all on the Richard Gordon tip because we were hoping for something positive to pin our hopes on.
A few years later and we are still in that mode.
Thanks so much Bland one.

Cam Newton Saga Reportedly Invites FBI Investigation.By FanHouse Staff
Cam Newton's dream Heisman season has turned into a nightmare lately. Reports that a man attempted to secure payment in order to guarantee Newton's signature on a letter of intent as a hot junior college recruit have taken the NCAA by storm. As if an NCAA investigation and muddled Heisman hopes aren't bad enough, a new report states that the FBI has taken an interest in the situation.
According to the report, the FBI has requested a meeting with John Bond, the former Mississippi State player who first alleged that Kenny Rogers, another former MSU player, contacted him to tell him $180,000 would get Newton to commit to MSU. According to Bond, two people were involved in the solicitation, though the identity of the other has not been revealed.
Bond's attorney reportedly confirmed the FBI request for a meeting, claiming the FBI agent told him, "We are interested in whether young men are being shopped to colleges."
They want the IRS $$$!

Hank needs 253 more yds to have 1000 yds in a 12 game season.
He needs to average 84.3 yds a game.
He is averaging 83.0 so he is right on target.
I hope he can catch two real deep balls Saturday and make it easy in his last two regular season games as a Cane.

VETERAN'S DAY SPECIAL:
WEST POINT, N.Y. -Army coach Rich Ellerson is the odd man out right now among his service academy peers — Navy's Ken Niumatalolo and Air Force's Troy Calhoun already know the postseason beckons, while the Black Knights are knocking on that proverbial door.
As the football season enters its final weeks, all three service academies are in rarefied air — they all have winning records. Only twice since 1960 have all three finished a season with winning records: In 1963, Army was 7-3, Air Force 7-4, and Navy 9-2 behind Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Roger Staubach, losing to Texas in the Cotton Bowl; and in 1996, Army was 10-2, Navy 9-3, and Air Force 6-5, with the Middies beating California in the Aloha Bowl and Army falling to Auburn, 32-29, in the Independence Bowl.
That's it. And Army hasn't had a winning season since 1996.

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said he could alter his play-calling a little bit on Saturday against Miami for Tevin Washington, who will be starting in place of injured quarterback Joshua Nesbitt.
“We might change it a little bit," Johnson said. "We will see how the game goes. It depends. It is an ebb and flow type deal. He was our starting quarterback this spring and my thought process on that is to let him see what he can do. It is like I told him, you don’t have to win the game, just do your job and manage the game. We are not the kind of football team that relies solely on the quarterback. I think you have to play and we have confidence in doing what we need to do to win the game.”
Johnson said the biggest difference between Washington and Nesbitt is experience, but Washington got a good opportunity this past spring to lead the first-team offense with Nesbitt out with an ankle injury. He also gets plenty of reps in practices even when Nesbitt is healthy.

The Hugh Spruill Strength Center
Fourteen of Georgia Tech's 17 sports programs work year round in one of the finest strength facilities in the nation. The Hugh Spruill Strength Center is a 10,000-square foot weightlifting facility, located on the ground floor of the William C. Wardlaw Center at the south end of Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field. In addition to the weight room, the facility contains a 3,000-square foot room that Georgia Tech student-athletes use to improve agility, speed, and quickness, as well as a 1,000-square foot covered outdoor area that contains specialized football training equipment.
The Hugh Spruill Strength Center houses some of the most impressive equipment in the country. The facility features 14 custom-built platforms and 10 specialized training pieces, all made by Sorinex. There are eight oversized squat racks, eight benches and six inclines with an array of Eleiko and custom weights totalling over 23,000 pounds. Dumbbell training is an important part of Georgia Tech's program. There are two sets of dumbbells: Ivanko dumbbells that range from five to 150 pounds, and one of the heaviest sets in the nation, ranging from five to 200 pounds and made by Tri-bar. The facility also features over 40 machines made by BodyMaster, Hammer Strength and Wynmor.
To enhance the Yellow Jackets' speed and quickness, the facility also provides more than 10 additional speed enhancement devices, designed to increase stride length and improve stride frequency. The Hugh Spruill Strength Center is the first collegiate weight room in the nation to utilize computerized Woodway Treadmills that monitor and provide feedback to the athletes during training sessions.
Core training is a very important part of the Yellow Jackets' exercise programs. The Hugh Spruill Strength Center provides four glute-ham machines, three landmine twisters, and over 40 medicine balls made by Dynamax and Power Systems.
The Hugh Spruill Strength Center, which was recently remodeled, contains a tribute to the late Dave Pasanella, Tech's former Director of Player Development and a Rambling Wreck football letterman in 1983-84. The "Strongest Man in the World" and the holder of 14 world weightlifting records, Pasanella died tragically in an automobile accident in 1990.
Philosophy
The main objective of the Georgia Tech Strength and Conditioning Program is to help each athlete achieve their maximal level of performance while reducing the occurrence of injuries through a sport specific program that is designed and administered by a member of the Georgia Tech Strength Staff.
Training programs are designed to increase an athlete's strength, speed, agility, flexibility, conditioning and explosiveness, all important components in the developing a highly-skilled collegiate athlete.
With the assistance of Georgia Tech's full-time Director of Sports Nutrition, as well as the bio-mechanics lab, the strength staff is able to individualize each athlete's workout in order to achieve optimal results. The Georgia Tech program provides workouts with periodization and a wide range of exercises to challenge the athlete in each workout.

Already without quarterback Jacory Harris, the Miami Hurricanes could be without two other key pieces to their offense when they play at Georgia Tech on Saturday in a pivotal ACC showdown.
Running back and leading rusher Damien Berry, who missed last week's game against Maryland but returned to practice Wednesday, and left tackle Orlando Franklin, who has started 35 games in his career, are both listed as questionable for the game.

Trailing by two points with 43 seconds left, Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon was prepared to try a long field goal to beat Maryland.
He says he was confident Matt Bosher would have made it.
"We needed another maybe 5 yards to get in field-goal range," Shannon said. "We were going to try one from about 47 yards to win it. Luckily, we didn't have to do that because of a great play from Stephen [Morris] and Leonard [Hankerson]."

Georgia Tech is a team known for having the widest spacing between offensive lineman in the nation and a team that is very good at cut blocks on defensive lineman and linebackers. Holmes, now beefs up the 'Canes defensive line.

The Miami Hurricanes are No. 1.
No, not in the national rankings or in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference, but as the nation's most-penalized team.
With 10 penalties called against them during last week's 26-20 victory against Maryland, the Hurricanes are now first nationally with 83 and are collecting more flags than the United Nations.
Once upon a time, that would have been a source of pride for UM. No more. The Hurricanes have cleaned up their act everywhere except - at least this season - when it comes to breaking the rules of the game.
"Penalties are just a lack of focus and a lack of discipline," cornerback Brandon Harris said. "They've hurt us on some big plays and they can cost you games."

Tension has to be rising at Auburn.
knowingly playing an ineligible student-athlete could make a university “subject to harsher penalties down the road.”
So do you protect the future or go for the quick rush of glory and deal with the potential consequences.

N.C.St. Dean Haynes 312 rushing 3 TDs 118 receiving 1 TD

Auburn might as well risk it all
They are in it to deep. So go ahead and have #2 play and when the NCAA gets around to the punishment in another 5 years or so Auburn can deal with it then
Posted by: Sebastian | November 12, 2010 at 08:27 AM
Auburn is still smarting over being wrongfully passed over for at least a split title in 2004, they play him, pay him, and deny, deny, deny, as is their way.

Yeah, here U go: About 15 high school kids will sign with UM in February of 2011. Some of the kids who do not sign with Miami will sign with UF and/or FSU.
Got it?
Right now however UM is in the middle of their football season playing games that actually matter and have an huge ACC game this week against GT in the ATL.
If VT loses to UNC and Miami wins against GT then Miami will be playing VT on 11/20 for the right to play in the ACC championship game on 12/4 in Charlotte.

Did u guys hear nething about this story...
Here's what happened. NFL baller Frank Gore was happily in a relationship with his child's mother, a woman named Drick. The two were living together as a family. And Drick's brother, another NFL player - Roscoe Parrish of the Buffalo Bills, became one of Frank's BEST FRIENDS.
Then things went LEFT. You see, Rosco's girlfriend and CHILDS MOTHER, a girl named Lina, started creeping around behind everyone's back and started dating Frank. Now keep this in mind, not only was Lina cheating on her babys father with his best friend . . but she was also close friends with DRICK TOO!!
Well that level of SCANDALOCITY deserves a world class azz whoopin. And that's what happened. Drick and some of her family members organized a way to STREET FIGHT Lina.
And last week, the two ladies came together to get it in. The fight lasted only a few minutes, and Drick was UNQUESTIONABLY the winner. According to the insdier,Lina was BEATEN, and her weave ripped from her head.
Jesus sone trouble within our canes family.... I wonde if this is real or just some tabliad bs!!
