Herbstreit on Rose this morning, shockingly has jumped off the Miami and FSU bandwagons.

Now he is full on Oregon. That could be the kiss of death for that team....

Who doesn't like Honey baked ham?

There is a restuarant in Islamorada called the Green Turtle Inn. They serve it and I have had it there and it is VERY good. They even can it and will ship it to you.

It is really good with a sprinkle of black pepper and an EXTRA shot of sherry in it.

I think how we play depends on the outcome of the VT-GT game...if GT wins then we control our own destiny (i believe)..if that is the case, history shows we will stumble....however..I see it going down like this...31-14 Miami....Morris throws 3 td's, and Miller scores 1 and our D comes back to life.

the only prediction that will come true is that this team will continue to do what they are trying to get done and by doing that they will do the things that teams do when they try to get things done...oh yeah they will be flyin around out there..

It is impossible to draw conclusions or predict outcomes based upon a limited set of outcomes in a given sequence that are any more or any less logical than another. That is because there were no rules/axioms/principles, etc governing the above pattern. It was simply an isolated series of numbers which had a perceived pattern that in fact turned out to be untrue. There is nothing logically forbidding the next number in the sequence from being any other value in the world (real, imaginary, integer, non-integer, finite, non-finite, etc). The problem with "patterns" is that they are philosophically bunk, but the practical question becomes after many events can one feel safe and establish that a pattern is, in fact, governed by the rules which the observer perceives?

The article in the Sentenial is correct. Whipple has no clue on play calling. We have 3 reciever sets and we can't get one person open. One guy must be the hot guy and the other 2 run decoy routes just to draw the dee away from a particular area. This ain't working. The Acc doesn't have all world corners in the conference. Whipple tries to burn you quick with the bomb. That wasn't J-12's forte and that's where he threw most of his int's, on balls over 30 yards. If we would nickle a dime them more, with 8 to 15 yard passes then the bomb can be had. This game will be close, one because Morris is a green-horn, 2, because of our unpredictable defense, 3, because nw the play calling will really be Vanilla. I'm going out on a limb and predict an upset: "DA U" 23-20.

also. tough loss for miami. i was walking out the door and saw that hit on jacory....almost started crying.thinking that the season is over and Randy is a gonner. butttttt! we got the freshman showing some promise. coming back and scoring 19..too bad it was in the forth soo yeah.

remember shannon said the best players will play?

more freshman should be imo umm. franklin needs to be replaced by seantrel. seantrel by j.johnson. gunn by Linder and McCarthy by Cain...until this happens Miami will keep getting hurt by penalties and "leadership"

Most importantly though is how #17 plays, can he turn things around with a solid game, and a solid finish to the year?

If he plays good enough would Shannon even play him against GT??

Even though I hate the way this season went I am glad we get to see Morris get a shot (Not wishing harm on Jacory at all here) although I would like to see more Cain also

This team has the personality of the Head Coach: none.

This Saturday around 11:35 I will intentionally gouge my leg with the weed-eater so I can spend the next 3 hrs in the emergency room. That will be a more pleasant and less painful experience than watching the canes sleep walk thru another game.

The problem DrewZ2 is that we've been saying the same thing after a loss for 4-5-6 years now. The team comes back and wins and we all celebrate the 2nd coming only to be deflated a week or couple of weeks later. It won't surprise me in the least when we blow out MD and GT, then get crushed by VT. OR, when we beat MD, get crushed by GT then beat VT.

The only surprise I'll have is if we win all three. That'd be a great surprise, but I'm done expecting us to do what we should. And, even if we do, 9-3 is a disappointment IMO. That wouldn't be a total meltdown, but rather more evidence that we're nothing more than a # 20-35 type program. We need to win out, crush a few teams, and get a solid bowl win over a decent team for me to feel any confidence again.

U can add a whole boatload of historical also-rans to that list: Baylor, Oregon, S Carolina...

U all should look up the job Art Briles has done at Baylor. Before that, he resurrected the Houston program. U think its hard to recruit at TxTech, try being at Baylor of all places.

Sent this email to President Shalala & Kirby Hocutt today.....

President Shalala,

I am a longtime fan and supporter of UM Athletics. While I am excited about the
graduation rate and the classroom success of the athletic program, the turn for
the worst of the football program is breaking my heart. Long have I defended
Randy Shannon, as I defended Larry Coker, but I am beginning to wonder what the
problem could be with this proud program.


Although I was never a fan of the criminal reports and "thug" image in the 80's,
I did enjoy the passion and enthusiasm that the teams played with. Those players
just looked like they wanted to play; like they would die on the field for their
teammates. I saw a spark of that in the North Carolina game this year and got
extremely excited for the rest of the season to be played, only to be
disappointed.


"Attitude reflects leadership."

I heard that quote in the movie Remember the Titans, and I think that it has
bearing here. Please be open-minded when evaluating Coach Shannon at the close
of the season. If his leadership is fueling this apathetic attitude by the
players, then he is not the coach for the Hurricanes.

Although I am not happy with the current status quo, I will always remain a
loyal Hurricane fan and supporter. I may not be a former student, but I still
bleed Orange and Green.
