Finally, after displaying a significant amount of faith, hope and patience, fans of the Miami Hurricanes basketball team have something to cheer about!
Miami's best player Durand Scott scored 19 points to lead Miami to its first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season. As a direct result of his efforts Miami beat Boston College 72-71 on Saturday night.
The Hurricanes (12-5, 1-2) snapped a two-game losing streak after dropping ACC road games against the Duke Blue Devils and the Clemson Tigers.
With the win over the Eagles tonight Miami:
- Improves to 12-5 on the year.
- improved to 8-0 at home this season
- Improves to 6-1 in ACC home openers.
- Extends its home winning steak to eight games.
- Improves its record to 4-2 over last six against BC and 12-24 all-time versus the Eagles.
- Earns its first ACC win this season.
Trailing 68-67 with 20.9 seconds left, Boston College had a chance to take the lead. But Miami backup center Julian Gamble blocked Reggie Jackson's drive.
The Hurricanes' Garrius Adams then made both of his free throws to stake Miami to a 70-67 lead.
Faith in Haith, while admittedly weak, is still alive and well. Miami will need all the faith and help they can get when they face FSU at the Bank United Center on Wednesday night at 9 PM.
The Seminoles and former UM head coach Leonard Hamilton are poised to make a serious run at the ACC crown this season. FSU is fresh off a major upset of #1 Duke last Wednesday and a 84-71 thrashing of the NCST Wolfpack last night.
Our friend WVUM Sports Director Justin Antweil will call the UM-FSU game live on www.WVUM.org.
We suggest that you listen in. You never know what you might hear!

Wake Forest QB commit to visit Miami
Lake Nona High QB Kevin Sousa, who was also committed to Michigan at one point, will be taking his last official visit to UM
Kevin Sousa committed to Michigan last summer and then decommitted and pledged to Wake Forest two months ago. Sousa will now take a visit to Miami and could change up again. (CHRIS HAYS/ORLANDO SENTINEL)
Wake Forest three-star QB commit Kevin Sousa, out of Lake Nona High in the Orlando area, said he will be visiting the Miami Hurricanes.
"I will be taking my final visit to Miami," Sousa told me Saturday night.
The 6-foot-2 Sousa verbally committed to Wake Forest on Dec. 5 after taking his official visit there Dec. 3.
Prior to being committed to Wake, he had committed to Michigan.
Sousa's other official visits were to Louisville, Michigan and Middle Tennessee. He was also offered by Florida Atlantic, FIU, UCF and USF.
New Hurricanes coach Al Golden took a recent recruiting trip to Orlando and met with Sousa.
"He came by the school to talk to Sousa about playing for the Hurricanes," Lake Nona assistant coach Anthony Paradiso said. "Kevin thought it was very classy and he was very appreciative."
As for his commitment to Wake, Sousa is willing to listen to any school where he has a chance to play, and play early.
"The whole recruiting process has intrigued [Sousa]," said Paradiso.
Thursday, Golden hired Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch, who will be the Hurricanes' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The last time Fisch was offensive coordinator was at the University of Minnesota in 2009, when the Golden Gophers ranked 100th in Division I-A in scoring offense.
Fisch is still in his NFL position with the Seahawks in the playoffs. Seattle plays at Chicago in the divisional round Sunday at 1 p.m. (Fox).
Fisch will institute what he calls an "attacking" pro-style offense and what that means for a dual-threat QB like Sousa would probably be less running and more throwing.
"[Golden] told Sousa he would be the No. 3 guy coming in since they only had two others on scholarship and that he would have a chance to compete now since the depth chart is so thin," Paradiso said.
The two current scholarship quarterbacks are Stephen Morris and Jacory Harris. Morris will be a sophomore in the fall and Harris a senior.

I wonder what Spencer Whipple has to say about that?

Sam chose to take responsibility, instead of blaming Randy for his failures.
Most UM fans, without clear evidence of anything, chooses to just point at Randy for any failures/bad judgement that canes players made.

According to Crawford, Ryan Malleck the TE fell in love with the city of Miami, but that's as far as that, nothing was said about how he liked the school and the athmosphere it presents.

Or, if you were walking around Norman OK with other Sooner players and you had this to show to recruits ...

They'll be the first to scream & yell about how wrong it is to possibly teach about something like evolution in school - but damn if they completely skip teaching about inbreeding
That state is a cesspool of idiocy .. anyone born there with any kind of a brain, moves out of there ASAP - and have you ever heard anyone that has told you that they want to move to Oklahoma?

There was a time when Hankerson was doghoused, too, but like Sam he manned up.
Thing is, I get the impression that Shannon only had ONE way to try to get more out of his players (treating them like garbage), and some guys just didn't respond well. And then, once all his QBs had left, Shannon had to coddle Jacory. That's never good for motivating the other players.
Jimmy Johnson used to say you needed to tailor your motivational methods to the player. Shannon doesn't have that skill.

Crawford also stated that he loved how the city of Miami is setup and basically where the campus was situated.
The campus was very nice and was far enough from the city to get a campus feel, but was not too far away to get back out to places such as south beach and other good places.

Of course those were not Crawfords actual statement as i was only revising what was really said, but it's pretty much the message.

Botts was the main reason why Goudis committed to the U, he stated they have great relationship.
Didn't even know they knew each other.

When recruits uses the word "likes" more often than "loves" in regards to their visit, it seems as if they didn't enjoy the visit as much as they would've hoped for.
There are the obvious ones, and there are the impossible ones to predict.

SSIB,
where UVA is, Charlottesville, is an area that gets a good amount of snow....it is roughly 148 miles north and slightly east of VT. It is in the mountains and there has been a good amount of snow and cold.....so I hope my beloved moutains provide a lot of thought...anything to get a good player Huh!!! LOL

I know a lot of people....guess they just do not think...that do not understand recruiting a punter and place kicker.....you need field goals....and though Bosher Sr year was a little less than expected he still was good for UM, and a tough SOB....this kid looks really good. The punter is also critical. We need good FGs, and great field position with punts and KOs. Now if we can get the special teams to tackle, stay in lanes, get more aggressive....AG will see to it first hand and Barrow may get a chance to be more involved in the new staff in a special way these are big gets that may be lost on people who do not know our program.

All that are nice and dandy, but besides the elegant trophy cases, and nice a** locker rooms, what really goes beyond the school and the facility in Norman???
I for one ain't tradin' the U and the campus beyond the campus which is the entire city, beautiful women in clad bikinis, and the oh so everlasting nice warm weather for a boring a** town like Norman.
Besides, they get unpredictable crazy tornadoes. We get seasonal major hurricanes, I think most peepz will stick around.
Btw, out of 50 states, guess which state did not have a single drop of snow over the past weekend???
The U sells the campus and the rest of the good stuff that most other places do not have!
Believe it.

Miami campus has no edge over UCLA...or Stanford, USC or even Cal...as far as bikinis on the beach, last time I checked, Southern California had a few babes...
How many South Beach cuties can you date on scholarship money and no car...
Babes on campus is what counts and the "U" has its share but schools like OU have more coeds on campus than Miami has total students...and most of them are not "Princesses"...

You guys should check out this video of Rashid Armand, he is a 6'2 300 pound defensive tackle out of Brooklyn, New York this kid wants to be a Miami Hurricane bad, he even made a youtube video begging for an offer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-KCRmhLXiM
and his highlight tape is pretty impressive:

Well, you can see bikinis on the beach if you were in Jersey Shore or Myrthle Beach in South Carolina, different caliber of beauties.
Obviously, point not taken???
Weather here, and weather up everywhere else is far way different, you and i both know that????
Campus may not be all great, but it's what the city presents to people and where the campus is located, you have Coconut Grove which is like a mini-strip similar to south beach, you've got Key Biscayne, you've downtown Miami where space is and other good places to go to, heck, you can even drive 20 mins and you're already in another county which has the HR Seminole, the young circle, las olas etc.
You can go all over town and this is what you've got, basically endless sources of good fun, you name it.
Scholarship money and no car??? sure, probably can't get every gold digger out there, but we are talking about potential future round picks, and any gold diggin' women can fall for that if we're just talking about this recruits trying to accomplish that, but that wasn't what i was trying to get at as i was only talking about great views and locations to go around to versus what the other state can offer.
Been to Cali, been to NY, been to Georgia, been to Louisiana, been to Italy, been to Dubai, been to the Philippines as i'm half-flip, i've been to so many places and i can tell you that South Beach is probably one of the best places to go to not just in the US but all over the world, nowhere you will find Norman is one of the hottest places to go to, that's a fact.
I'm pretty sure the coeds in Miami have just as much fun as the coeds in Norman if not more.
It's not the quantity, it's the quality.
Btw, not to offend anyone bout the gold diggin' comment, it's just methaporically speaking and i'm sure anywhere you go, you will find that.
